28: Glee Emergency
December 17.
Will invited the Glee kids to come over to his place after school, so that everyone could plan together music ideas and also figure out where Kitty could of gone. At the house the kids sat in the living room, with a whiteboard entitled two labels: Places and Songs. Under songs, underlined, was Dreams. The theme for regionals in a few months.
"Guys this isn't like Kitty to be like this." Marley said. "She can't just get up and go."
"She could though." Artie told her. "It's just a matter of where she want to go with her sister. Mr. Schue and Ms. Pillsburry are so nice."
"Where's Sam and Britt?" Finn asked. "I remember before I came here I saw them walking."
"They'll be here soon." Blaine said. "Sam text me just now. They just had to go to the animal shelter… Goodness knows why."
"Marley, Jake, your both awfully quiet. Kitty probably just wanted to figure things out and needed to get away as far as possible." Joe mentioned.
"Hmm…hmmm." Jake muttered. His mind was wandering off, trying to figure out where Kitty would of gone. She would of mentioned it to him, right? "Hmm…mmmm." He muttered again.
Marley, on the other hand, just looked straight ahead. She had a million different places in her mind that Kitty would of gone too. Some of the places she didn't think Kitty would go too. But that was a thing people did when they didn't want to be found. Go to places nobody would look for them. She had misheard Joe and therefore responded, "Miami is a great place to go away Joe."
Joe just gave her a questionable expression.
Will came into the room and started writing down several different songs on one side of the whiteboard. "Alright for song selections we'll—"
"Mr. Schue did Kitty say anything to you before she left!?" Marley asked quickly. "Anything at all?"
Will stopped writing down song titles and turned back to the students. "Well no. That's why I asked you guys to come over and help out."
Everyone leaned forward to hear the next thing.
"We called the cops last night. We told them that Kitty never came to school and that she never came home." Will said. "We told them that Kitty's been unhappy since she even learned that she was going to be here and live with us and the second she stepped foot in this house she's just been going downhill. Confused, everything."
"Does that include conversations she had with people?" Ryder asked without trying to sound off anything. "Since we've all spoken to her."
"They might. They might call on you in school or at yours houses. Just tell them the truth and everything that you remember you or Kitty said."
The door swung open and Brittany and Sam came in. Both of them holding a leash connected to a dog. Sam had a bloodhound on him and Brittany a collie.
"Mr. Schue we adopted these dogs." Brittany said. "Lassie and Trusty from the animal shelter. We got them Mr. Schue." Brittany grinned. "They'll find Kitty and Katy."
"Trusty?" Will asked.
"From Lady and the Tramp. They'll find Kitty and Katy." Brittany said. "If the greatest dog rescuer and famous bloody dog can't do it, all hope it lost."
Will found those words a bit uncomfortable. "Sam, Brittany, that's kind but I don't think—"
Brittany held out a hat and held it over both dogs noses. "Kitty forgot a hat of hers at my house one day, and I assume it'll still smell like her."
The dogs sniffed. Minutes later they sniffed around until they landed over at a move pile collection and pawed away different movies until the came across The Wizard Of Oz.
"I knew it!" Brittany cheered. "I knew she was in the Land Of Oz. Now everyone we need to get to the next city that will have a tornado and just go inside of the aunts bedroom and we'll get Kitty and Katy back."
"Or…we just head over to Kansas." Sam mentioned.
"Guys… Kitty and Kathy could still be in Lima, or a city close by." Finn said.
"You think she'd hide at Dalton?"
"No. Never." Jake said. "Maybe that all girls school, Blaine you know the name of that school. Try and see if Kitty's there."
"Alright." Blaine said.
"Let's pray for her." Joe suggested.
"Teen Jesus ain't nobody got time for that." Puck said. "Innocent, you okay?" Puck notice that Marley was, in fact, very uncomfortable right now. Her hand was held up to her dry throat and she felt like she was choking. She nodded in response to Puck, but still wasn't any more comfortable.
"Want some water Marley?" Will asked her. "I can go grab a glass."
"No.. I'm good." Marley said.
In all honesty Marley had a deep feeling about where Kitty and Kathy were. She didn't want to believe it, but she was growing closer to taking the ideas truth. The whereabouts of Kitty and Kathy.
Phil.
About two hours later as everyone left Emma and Will were shutting the door just as Marley and Ryder left holding hands. Marley stopped and turned back to the residency, telling Ryder to wait up. She got to the door and knocked. Emma answered the door.
"Oh, did you forget something Marley?"
"No.. I was just," Marley began as Will came to the door. "I mean… I overheard Coach Sue talking to someone and she said something about Phil escaping prison. If it's true than what if he—"
"No. No, he doesn't even have an idea where we live. So he wouldn't know Kitty was here at the last though." Will told her. "Kitty…probably just ran away for a while."
"With Kathy?"
"Sisterly stuff… you guys said your sisters before, you get it."
"Actually Will there's a difference between Kitty-Kathy sisterhood and Kitty-Marley sisterhood." Emma said quickly.
"She's right Mr. Schue, it's a little different…. I don't know." Marley shrugged. "I just want them both back. Soon."
"Us too." Will said, wrapping an arm around Emma's waist. "Have a good night Marley."
"Thanks you too." Marley smiled.
Marley joined back with the others who waited at the end of the block. By the time she joined them they began walking again down the road.
"You know what's on Kitty's mind, right?" Tina asked.
"Tina Noelle Cohen-Chang if you say one word, one usual Tina-Ass comment, I won't be nice to you." Marley said.
"Like I'm scared of you?" Tina asked. "Kitty just wants—"
"Tina I'm serious. Shut up!"
"We all know Kitty just wants—"
"SHUT UP!" Every single person shouted in her direction.
Emma shut the door slowly and turned back to Will. "I'm scared—"
"Don't be." Will reassured her.
"But what if he—"
"He didn't."
"How do you—"
"No idea where we live, no idea that we took them in."
"But what if—"
"Emma," Will said softly. "They'll be fine. I know they'll be fine…they've been through worse."
"My point! I don't want them to go through that again." She said in great worry. "I can't… I just…. I can't…" Emma began to cry a tiny bit.
Will pulled Emma in for a hug and held her tightly, rocking her gently. "It'll be alright Em. I promise, it'll be alright."
Though Will believed in his own words, he still had that small feeling. That terrible feeling in the entire world that commonly parents have (as well as friends, teachers, ect) have.
Never seeing his girls again.
