The Dream Continues
There was a good chance that this dream meant very little. It was strange though, like a memory that had been forgotten. Yet Basil could not remember ever having met Lee and Tina in a place like this or any of them dressed in clothing like this. What was this?
The dream Basil, dressed in Norse garb, circled around the dream Lee and Tina. There was a sinister look in his eye. Was this truly Basil? Or Lynch playing at being Basil?
"Oh, wouldn't you like to know." Commented Basil. He gave a sinister laugh. "The price is that Lee here will be forced to wander the earth for the rest of his life! And can only return to you, Tina, once a week… If he's even in your vicinity and be able to make it in time is a great question but such is the price for the Trickster God's aid!"
Lee and Tina did not look happy with the price. It was cruel to the point of being evil!
"Thanks all the same but we'll get out of this without your help or that of the Trickster God." Said Lee.
The sly grin on Basil's face had grown into a sly smile. That look in his eye had become more intense. This couldn't have really been Basil.
"As you wish but remember, you merely spoke with a shadow." And with that, Basil vanished. Once more he was a spectator.
A shadow? What was going on here? Who were these people? The names and faces were those of Basil knew! One of them was his face! But that person had been nothing like him! Basil would never have made an offer with such a cruel price to the real Lee and Tina! They were his best friends…
As the dream Lee and Tina talked, Basil the spectator could only look at the statue. That horrible birdman statue! Invisible to both Lee and Tina, he walked over to the statue and looked it right in the ruby eyes.
"I don't know who you are or what you represent! If you are the Trickster God or one of the gods worshipped by this cult that means to sacrifice Tina to you I won't allow any unhappiness to come to them!" The statue did not respond. Everything Basil had said was left unheard. Invisible, unable to be heard… What could Basil do in this dream of his?
Falling to his knees, Basil let out a sigh of despair. There was no way of controlling this dream. When was there ever?
Again that hissing sound was heard. Lee and Tina didn't hear it but Basil did. It was coming from the statue.
Raising his head, Basil saw the statue looking down at him!
