Here's the next installment. I have to say when I started this story I never expected to be here with it but hey gotta go where the creative flow takes you right? ;)

I hope you are still enjoying the story as much as I'm still enjoying writing it. Thanks for all the support.

Enjoy!

oooooo

As he rushed back into the station his heart was pounding so heavily in his chest he thought it would burst. The grandfather's property had been a ruse. A ruse Daniel knew Marshall would eventually tell them about. He and Michael wanted the world to finally know about them and if the amount of graves at the farm were any indication, the world would be talking about the two of them for a very long time. Morgan just hoped JJ wouldn't be added to the long growing list of victims.

He skidded to a halt just outside the conference room where even from there he could see the live feed of JJ was back on. And even at this distance he could see she had new injuries. Stepping over the imaginary line that separated the rest of the police station and the conference room Morgan swallowed hard as the others quickly filed in behind him, his mind taking a silent inventory of JJ's new injuries which he noted were fresh burns on her chest and neck.

"She's been burned" Emily muttered as she approached the screen her own emotionally battered mind needing to take stock of her friend's new abuses.

"I can see at least 2 burns" Reid said as he looked at the monitor over Emily's shoulder

"Three" she quietly replied her hand rising up to point out the burn. "There's a burn on her forearm that I can just barely make out and I think maybe one on the back of her hand"

"Son of a bitch" Morgan whispered

Hearing his whispered curse Emily turned around to look at him. Physically he was holding it together. To anyone who didn't know him he was an FBI agent who while forced to watch a colleague be tortured looked like he was well held together. Emily knew differently though. It was in his eyes. The same eyes she saw him look at her best friend with nothing but adoration and love were now dull and almost hollow. The pain he was experiencing was clearly written in them to anyone who knew him well.

Hotch and Rossi were the last to enter the room, their disgust, worry, anger and a whole other litany of emotions played in their body language and expressions.

"She has new injuries" Rossi said repeating Emily's earlier statement.

"I'm going to call Garcia. We're missing something" Hotch said as his phone dialed the familiar number.

They didn't have to wait long. Before the call even rang twice Garcia's haggard face appeared on her monitor making it obvious to them that while they were seeing JJ's new injuries post application, Garcia had seen those injuries administered first hand.

"He uh…he burned" she tried to stammer out the sound of Hotch's unanswered call ringing in the background.

"We see them Penelope" Rossi said softly.

"No, yes you see them but you didn't…oh god she screamed so loud" With fresh tears streaming down her face Garcia barely managed to ground out those last words as she was overtaken by her emotions.

The team looked from Garcia's monitor to JJ's watching as Daniel picked up and put down several 'tools' as if unsure which one he wanted to use on the blonde next. Pick one up, put it down. Pick another one up then put that one back down. The cycle repeated itself several more times until the team realized this strategy was meant more for them than it was JJ since she couldn't see what he was doing while they very much could. The uncertainty of seeing which tool he would choose next, being able to see all his choices- it was his way of torturing them.

The whole thing made Morgan want to toss the chair he was gripping like a lifeline out the nearest window.

In reality had any of them seen what had transpired while they were at Daniel's grandfather's farm, seen how JJ had managed to anger him they would see this indecisiveness of his was not a form a torture aimed at them but instead a crack in his controlled cold demeanor.

"We need to do something" asserted Emily who could no longer stand to watch her teammate and friend struggle to survive. Nor could she stand to have herself toyed with in such a manner.

Reid, who'd started pacing had suddenly stopped an idea popped into his mind and he rushed over to the tacked up area map

"Garcia did Martin Lasky own any other properties?"

"The only deeds I found were for the home and barn you guys went to"

"No not deeds, land. Try searching for any land in Martin Lasky's name- developed or undeveloped"

Hotch eyed him curiously

"Reid what are you thinking?"

"Vacant property is often taxed at a lower rate than property that has structures on it and in rural areas like this the town doesn't do spot checks like more populated places to ensure the property is assessed correctly"

"What does that have to do with our current situation?" Morgan snapped. His patience was all but evaporated by this point and the last thing he wanted was a lesson in tax law

There were moments when Reid wanted to scream that not everyone thought on the same level as he did. Those moments were few and far in between of course because his teammates were all genius' in their own rights but there were still times he wished their intellect was closer to his so less time was wasted.

"Martin Lasky could've owned vacant land, have it taxed as vacant land but still built a structure like a barn on it. If no one went out and checked-"

"Then there would be no deed" finished Rossi. The kid never ceased to amaze him. While they were all thinking one way Reid's brain thought in about a thousand ways and one of those thoughts had been considering a person would build on vacant land but not report it.

While Reid explained his thoughts Garcia combed through the records from the local assessor's office as fast as she could looking for any land owned by Martin Lasky. After several moments of searching a land grant appeared on her screen naming Martin Lasky as the owner of 3 acres of vacant land 7 miles outside the town and just 4 miles from the Mill where JJ had been taken.

"I got it! Martin Lasky purchased 3 acres of land on November 16th 1987 and according to the tax assessor's office the land was never developed and it's only 4 miles down the highway from the Mill where JJ was taken"

Reid jumped on Garcia's new information

"Garcia can you pull up a satellite image of the land and see if there anything on it?"

"Yeah give me a sec…"

"Garcia?"

Morgan knew she was going as fast as she could but he couldn't take it anymore. If they had a place to go then they needed to go there because based on her appearance and Daniel's demeanor he didn't feel confident JJ had much time left nor would she be able to take much more physically.

"Reid was right there is a structure on the property and it looks like barn"

As she looked at the small structure on the satellite image Garcia began to wonder if JJ would ever be the same after this because having known from personal experience with her victims support group people rarely were and as strong as JJ could be Garcia feared not even she would be strong enough to conquer this.

"JJ said there was electricity and we can clearly see it's lit up"

"Right yeah good call Em" Garcia said grateful to be snapped out of her own mind. Her fingertips were starting to ache from the constant pounding they were doing to her keyboard but she didn't care if her fingers fell off, she'd still find a way to search for any info that could bring them closer to getting JJ back. "Oh that sneaky little…"

"What is it?"

"I just pulled up the electrical grid for the area surrounding the land and there are no 'official' meters but looking at the satellite picture the barn is maybe 200 yards off the road and that area has above ground power and phone lines"

"He spliced in…that's how he's getting the power"

"Garcia can you…"

"Send the location to your phones? I already did now please go get my angel her and bring her home!"

"Detective Collins can you get us a SWAT team?"

Hotch asked as he checked the address and satellite image Garcia had sent to his phone his mind already planning out how and where to breach entry. Normally this task belonged to Morgan and while his input would be sought out Hotch didn't want to assume given what he was experiencing emotionally at seeing what JJ was going through that Morgan couldn't handle developing the entry plan. He just wanted to be sure it was done so no one could later question its validity.

"It may take a few minutes for them to re-up and regroup but absolutely"

"Alright let's get ourselves ready while SWAT is regrouping"

As the team filtered out of the conference room Hotch could sense there was something Morgan wanted or needed to discuss with Garcia so he made sure he was the last one out of the room in order to ensure the man got his privacy.

He was grateful Hotch didn't question his need to stay behind and he honestly wondered if what he was about to ask of Garcia was a good idea but he needed to know.

"Baby girl can you playback the footage from before, when we were out at the farm?"

"What? No you don't need to see that. It was…"

"Garcia please"

His voice was barely above a whisper and for the first time since learning JJ had been kidnapped Garcia was seeing just badly beaten down Morgan had become. Daniel was succeeding in breaking him and Garcia knew the last thing he then needed was to add to his agony by witnessing JJ's.

"No Derek. This is one time I have to say no to you. You don't need to have that in your head while you're trying to bring JJ home. Just go and bring her home"

She was right. He needed his mind focused on bringing JJ home not giving in and letting Daniel win by seeing what he was doing to her. Daniel wanted him to blame himself. He wanted him to fall apart and by watching what he was doing to JJ Morgan would be giving him just that. No Garcia was right he needed to just focus on bringing his girl home.

"Thank you baby girl" he replied before heading out after Hotch and the others

oooooo

Even though her entire body hurt like hell JJ had a renewed sense of vigor. She could tell Daniel was beginning to unravel emotionally and the less controlled he became the stronger she became. Small victories she told herself. His diminished control could and probably would result in more injuries but JJ knew the frenzy could very well be what would keep her alive. He wouldn't finish her off until he proved to her he'd won and she wasn't about to let him win.

oooooo

I know this was a bit of a short chapter in relation to last few but I decided to end it there because I felt like it was the perfect place to do s. Next chapter will finally be JJ's rescue! I know many of you have been waiting for that and I promise I will get it up as soon as I can. ;)
