Sakaki carried me all the way to the clinic and let me down onto one of the beds. He looked around and seemed to be looking for something.

"What are you looking for?" I asked.

"Not sure. Akisame usually uses a certain thing to patch up Kenichi whenever he starts bleeding during training. I think I remember what it looks like," he said. I sighed and stood up to help him. However, my head started to pound. My hand went up to the place where it hurt and I felt my blood again. Sighing, I just kept walking around the room attempting to be of any help.

After a while I looked up at a shelf and saw a bottle that I remembered seeing Akisame use on me when I first got my shins scratched up on my first day of training. I reached up for it but found myself too short to reach it. Sighing, I decided to bring a chair over and stand on it to reach it. Well, the only chair in the room was a rolling chair. At this point I might have thought that it would have been a better idea to tell Sakaki where it was. Then again, I was still trying just to make things clear in my head so I wasn't really thinking straight.

I walked over to the chair and rolled it to where I wanted it to go. Carefully, I stood on top of it and grabbed the top of the bookcase to keep myself balanced. I grabbed it and was about to jump down when the room started to turn red on me.

"Crap," I whispered. I felt myself falling backwards and the chair rolling out from under my feet. The bottle fell from my hand and I heard Sakaki yell something but I couldn't make it out. I closed my eyes and got ready for the impact. I waited for a few seconds and then wondered why I didn't feel the floor beneath me.

"Haley. Haley!" Sakaki yelled. I opened my eyes a tad and saw Sakaki standing there looking worried at me.

"Hu-huh?" I muttered. For some reason real words wouldn't come to my head and I felt my cheeks getting redder when I noticed how close Sakaki's face was to mine.

"Are you okay?" he asked. I gulped and nodded. He sighed and sat me down on the bed again. Then he placed his hands on the bed on either side of me and looked me straight in the eye.

"U-um," I stuttered, blinking twice.

"You stay right here. It's hard enough looking for that bottle, let alone worrying about whether or not you're going to do something stupid like what you just did. Seriously, it would have been dangerous even if you didn't have a head injury!" he said. I nodded and agreed to stay put. He sighed and stepped away. Then went over to the bookcase I was looking at and noticed the bottle I had dropped.

"That's the stuff Akisame used when my shins were bleeding on the first day of training," I said. He picked it up and brought it over to me.

"So this stuff can stop bleeding or something?" he asked. I shook my head.

"Not really, it just keeps the area that was bleeding from getting infected. To stop bleeding to have to compress the wound with a piece of cloth or something and put pressure on it. That usually stops the bleeding long enough to sanitize it and put that bandage stuff on," I explained. He nodded.

"Okay, I think I got it," he said. He started to take his jacket off but I stopped him.

"H-hold on! Wha-what are you doing?" I yelled. He just stared at me.

"What do you mean? I'm gonna use my jacket to stop the bleeding," he said.

"What I mean is, why you're jacket?" I asked.

"This thing's worn down and I was gonna throw it out soon anyway," he said. I took a quick look at the jacket then looked at him. While he was right in the fact that it looked worn down, I couldn't help but wonder why he was wearing it every time I saw him.

"Um, okay I guess," I muttered.

"You guess? Do you wanna live or bleed to death?" he asked. I sighed.

"Live," I muttered. He responded by crumpling his jacket into a tight ball and placed it against my wound. He put his other hand on the other side of my head and at some point our eyes met. We just stayed like that for a while. I was constantly afraid that he would hear my heart beating as loud as it was.

"Sakaki?" I said after a few minutes.

"Hm?"

"I think my wound is done bleeding." He blinked twice then removed his jacket from my head and looked at the wound. He nodded.

"Yeah, it stopped. Let's get one of those bandages on before it starts again," he said.

"We're putting a bandage on my hair?" I asked. He looked at me again and didn't say anything. Then he shook his head and stood up, once again looking at my wound. He bent down to get a better view of it and somehow I wound up looking at his muscly chest. If my face wasn't red before, it was now. I could feel him moving my hair aside to get a good look at it. For some weird reason, part of me didn't mind it. It actually LIKED it.

What is going on? Just the other day I couldn't stand this guy and wanted nothing to do with him other than him giving me a new Taser. But now, I don't mind having him near me. Why? I thought.

"Um, Sakaki?" I whispered.

"Yeah?" he asked.

"What, um, what are you doing?" I asked. I felt his hands stop moving and his chest stiffened up.

"Well um, you see I uh," Sakaki stuttered. Suddenly the door to the room opened.

"What's going on here?" Akisame asked. Sakaki jumped back and turned towards Akisame, rubbing the back of his head.

"Oh, hey Akisame! What are you doing here?" Sakaki asked, laughing nervously. Akisame raised an eyebrow.

"This is my clinic Shio. Why wouldn't I be here?" Akisame asked.

"Oh, hey, yeah look at that!" Sakaki laughed.

"Shio, who is that behind you? And why does it look like she got attacked by a rogue zombie?" Akisame asked.

"Who? Oh, Haley? Well, certain things happened and," Sakaki began. He put his hands on Akisame's shoulders. "She needs medical attention so I leave her to you! See ya!" Sakaki then walked out the door as quick as he could.

"Huh?" I asked, blinking twice. What just happened? Akisame sighed then chuckled.

"Oh my, looks like the big tough guy has a soft side," Akisame said.

"What do you mean?" I asked. Akisame walked towards me and checked out my wound.

"Hm, looks like the wound isn't too serious. For now to avoid it getting infected, we'll put some gauze tape over it. Don't worry, this kind of tape doesn't damage the hair in any way," Akisame said, avoiding my question. I sighed.

"Okay," I muttered. Before moving to get the gauze, Akisame seemed to notice something on the floor. He leaned down and picked up the jacket that Sakaki left behind.

"I was wondering why he wasn't wearing a jacket. He seemed to have left it on the ground," Akisame said.

"Um, that's partially my fault," I said. Akisame looked questioningly at me and raised an eyebrow. "Um, I told him that he had to place something against my wound in order to get it to stop bleeding. For some reason he thought his jacket was a good idea. I tried to talk him out of it but he said that he was planning on tossing it out soon anyway." I trailed off at the end.

"Interesting, I'll have to ask Shio why he used his favorite jacket later," Akisame said in a quiet voice. Not quiet enough since I was able to hear him.

"His favorite jacket? But, why did he say he was going to throw it out?" I asked.

"Hm, why indeed? Who knows what could be going on in that man's head?" Akisame seeming to be speaking to himself. I sighed.

"Anyway, can we get this healed up? I need to begin my training soon," I muttered. Akisame chuckled and nodded. He handed me Sakaki's jacket and I rested it on my lap.

Shio Sakaki, what on Earth could be going on? With you, and with me? I thought, staring long and hard at the jacket in my lap, worn down and covered in my blood. For some reason, I had good and bad feelings about the near future.
