A/N: I've noticed Kristoff and Alexis haven't really had a bonding moment. So we're going to have Elsis step back for a moment and let Kristanna shine.
Chapter 28
"Let's run through it one more time, Mr. Bjorgman. Which utensil do you use for soup?"
Kristoff looked down at the array of forks, spoons, and knives. His hand hovered over the spoons as he tried to decide. I was sitting behind his instructor watching the lesson. Anna told me Kristoff was having trouble with his etiquette lessons so I thought maybe I could help.
I waved at him trying to get his attention. He glanced at me and I held up two fingers. Kristoff grasped the second spoon.
"Miss Alexis, I would like Mr. Bjorgman to do this himself,"
I hung my head in shame. Damn, he's got eyes in the back of his head.
"Entree fork?"
Kristoff presented the fork.
Mr. Morris sniffed, "You were correct, for once."
Kristoff grimaced and threw the fork down, "I think I'm done for today."
"I expect you to arrive on time for tomorrow's lesson."
Kristoff pushed himself away from the table and stormed off. Mr. Morris shook his head.
"It's like teaching a child!"
"You could go easier on him," I objected.
"I've tried but I lose patience with him. It's not hard to believe that Princess Anna met him in the woods. Mr. Bjorgman acts like he was raised by wolves!" Mr. Morris argued.
"Or trolls," I muttered.
"Excuse me?"
I shook my head, "Nothing. Look let me talk to him. Maybe I can help Kristoff."
"I need all the assistance I can receive,"
I departed ways with Mr. Morris and headed to the stables. From a distance, I could see Kristoff feeding Sven. Once I was in an earshot, I heard Kristoff talking.
"I'll never be good enough for Anna."
"But she loves you for who you are."
I hid by the door way listening to the conversation.
"I'm no good at this royal stuff. I'll just be an embarrassment."
"You just need to practice. Everything will work out."
"I don't know Sven..."
"I would listen to the reindeer."
Kristoff jumped at my voice. He turned to see me in the doorway.
I walked over to him.
He rubbed the back of his neck, "I'm sorry about that back there."
I shrugged, "I don't mind. I can tell you're frustrated. Besides, it's your teacher who you need to apologize to."
"I am not apologizing to that prick," Kristoff scoffed.
"He's just trying to help you," I argued.
"Well he's not doing a very good job. How does he expect me to learn years of royal etiquette in a matter of weeks?" Kristoff sighed and sat on a pile of hay, "Maybe this was a mistake."
"What is?"
"This marriage. I'll never be good enough for royal society. I don't even know why Anna picked me. She's a princess and I'm just an ice harvester."
I sat next to him, "Do you love Anna?"
"Of course, I love her more than anything!"
"Then you shouldn't worry about what other people will think. So what if you can't remember which utensil to use. You and Anna are meant to be! Slowly but surely, you will get this right and Anna will be there to help you. Don't give up on your love because of it."
Kristoff leaned back into the hay pile, "I hate when you're right. Still, I have to thank you."
"Everyone needs a kick in the butt once in a while," I said.
"You didn't have to help me."
"You're a good guy and friends help friends. Plus, I kind of owe you my life. I wouldn't be here if you hadn't saved me."
Kristoff rolled his eyes, "Please don't get all mushy with me. Next I thing know you're going to try and hug me."
I wrinkled my nose, "Ew! No thank you, you smell!"
"Like flowers?" Kristoff teased.
"Like a pungent reindeer king," I shot back.
Sven nuzzled next to Kristoff. Kristoff spoke for him, "I like the way you smell!"
"It's because you smell like Sven,"
Kristoff gave me shove and I flew off the pile. I grabbed a handful of hay and threw it in his face.
"Jerk," I muttered. Kristoff stuck out his tongue.
"I think they're in here,"
It sounded like Anna was looking for us. I crawled closer to Kristoff.
"Do you want to scare her?" I whispered.
"That's a mean thing to do to Anna. I'm in!"
We both crouched inside a stable making sure we weren't seen. I heard footsteps enter the stables. Anna wasn't alone but the other person hadn't said a word.
"Kristoff? Alexis?" Anna called. They approached closer to our hiding place. I counted down with my hand. Once the last finger dropped, Kristoff and I sprung up with a roar. Anna yelped and jumped back into the other person. It turned out to be Elsa. The sisters fell back onto the floor. Kristoff and I laughed as we high-fived.
"This is what happens when you leave two trouble makers alone," Elsa sighed.
"Us? Trouble makers? Where would you get an idea like that?" I asked innocently. Both girls rolled their eyes as we helped them off the floor. Anna pulled Kristoff slightly to the side once she was on her feet.
"How did your lessons go today?" Anna asked.
"Not very well but I promise I'll do better," Kristoff assured her.
"If it's too much of a hassle, I can get them to teach you the minimum. Just let me talk to Mr. Morris and-"
"Anna! It's okay! I don't mind trying to learn this. Even if I don't get it right every time, I know I'll still have you by my side. You're worth it."
I couldn't help but share the smile that spread across Anna's face. Kristoff leaned in and kissed her.
"Something tells me you helped them," Elsa told me.
I grasped her hand in mine, "I just pointed him in the right direction."
A/N: Yay friendship! I enjoyed writing this short scene with Kristoff and Alexis. There will be a future bonding/pep talk between these two again because in the next couple of chapters Elsis is about to be tested. Get ready for the drama, feels, and tears. Some of you may hate me but it will all be worth it.
AVP5: They're my favorite scenes to write. I hope this chapter went well and you enjoyed it.
The Reaper13: Hm, I didn't think of that. I don't really think Elsa would use her powers so violently unless she needed to but great idea.
ThatGalladeAcrossTheStreet: I promise to make you love this story even more. It will be a while before they arrive but I'm planning an update with the parents. Right now we're focusing on Elsis and the growth of their relationship.
crazyguy1313: Thank you, I'm glad the chapter succeeded. Looking forward to the rebellion.
.7: Yay, someone who understands my obsession! It's difficult but Alexis will fight for Elsa.
lesbian-otps: Unfortunately, our ship is about to hit some rocky waters in future chapters. I promise to make up for it though.
