Kumamon: Eleven months. Eleven freaking months! You know you should be ashamed of yourself right?

Rexmon: Lay off him Fuzzymon. It's not like Stanleymon has all the time in the world like he used to. But what's important is that he hasn't given up. So just try to have a little patience.

Kumamon: Fine. Fine. Whatever. But my fight better be badass!

Me: If you're tuning in then you may have noticed Kumamon trying to wring my neck. I'm okay, just really busy so it's been hard to make updates due to having to take 8-9 classes both semesters last year along with two hours of band everyday and 3 three hour daily rehearsals for several theatrical productions that I was apart of. The life of a musician/stage actor is an extremely busy one, but thanks to a new fan of mine I'm back in the game. Thanks for staying on my ass about that Kingdomsavior90. Kingdomsavior90 has only been reading for the past week but he's already caught up to the current part of the story and I'm happy to announce him as my 50th review! It may not mean much but your support has brought some inspiration back to me after I've dragging along for the past few months so keep cheering me on. Now you should read Kamen Rider Rekka.

Here we have the first real round of tournament it's time for the fiery Salamandermon to go up against the colossal Ginkakumon. Speaking of "colossal" everybody go check out Shingeki no Kyojin. I'm serious, everybody need to watch that NOOOOOW! So which of you wants to do my disclaimer?

Both Digimon: Rock! Paper! Scissors!

Kumamon: Ha! I won, so Rexmon has to do it!

Rexmon: That's not fair! I can only do paper and you keep picking scissors!

Disclaimer: Fuzzymon does not own Digimon but he does own his own apartment.

The colossal digimon just stood there on his end of the platform as Salamandermon faced towards him from the other end of the platform, hissing and eying him closely. The two digimon didn't make a move until Salamandermon suddenly shot forward and climbed up Ginkakumon's leg like a lizard on a brick wall. Ginkakumon just stood there in curiosity as Salamandermon climbed all the way to his face.

"Oi, flame lizard. Did you forget that we're on the same side here? I know it's a match and all but I don't want to hurt you if I can help it since we're here to test that brat and his digimon's strength.," he said to the lizard digimon is a deep, drawling voice. He grabbed Salamandermon in one of his massive hands and pulled him away from his face. "Do yourself a favor and just go ahead and forfeit."

He winced slightly as Salamandermon suddenly started gnawing on his hand in an attempt to get Ginkakumon to let go of him but it didn't do much more than make him wince. He finally gave up and stuck his abnormally long tongue out at the titan. "If I'm gonna lose anyway then I might as well make it look convincing. Buraimon gave away our position by attacking the boy so they may suspect that we're all after him since we all entered in together. This way we may trick them into thinking we're not with him. So this may hurt in the long run, but...HEAT BREATH!" He opened his mouth and shot out a stream of flames right into Ginkakumon's face.

The other contestants and I were allowed to watch the fight a little ways away from the platform in an outdoor lounge area. I sat with Kumamon, Rexmon, Kamemon (who had been allowed to stay with us thanks to a very irrate Kumamon when an Announcermon said he couldn't), and surprisingly enough Agunimon who seemed to take some interest in the four of us. Petermon, Capmon, and Crocmon sat at the table next to us so we could converse.

"Is it just me or are those two having a conversation in the middle of a match?" I asked nonchalantly a few seconds before Salamandermon used his flame breath attack. I winced when I saw the flames erupt in Ginkakumon's face. "Ouch."

"Uh, Sta- I mean Oddmon. I thought that there may be times when you'd need to be sneaky so I made a function on your goggles that allows you to zoom in on digimon when they're talking. The processor in the goggles will then read the digimon's lips and relay what they say as text in the lenses for you to read. So I suggest when you see them talking again you use that function. I'll tell you how to do it," Kamemon whispered.

"Thanks, Kamemon," I said. "We really should've brought you with us. You would've been a huge help."

"Again, not a big deal. I'll make sure to record everything from now onwards. By the way, what do you think of these guys?" He pointed at the group that had come in with Buraimon who were all sitting together watching the fight. All of them seemed interested except for Buraimon himself who kept glancing at me every now and then.

"Hard to say. I'm not sure about the rest of them, but Buraimon seemed pretty gungho about shoving his sword through my chest."

"You should still let me kick his ass," Kumamon piped in. "We're supposed to watch out for each other so I'm angry that I couldn't be there to help."

"You weren't the only one not there Fuzzymon. I think we should watch them for now though so nobody gets hurt that shouldn't be. If anything happens I think we can handle it." Rexmon grinned with confidence as well went back to watching the fight. At the moment we did so, Cubmon sent us a curious glance.

Ginkakumon was temporally blinded and tossed Salamandermon away while cursing quietly to himself. The attack didn't seem to hurt him much, and he stepped forward finally. The whole arena shook with each step he took, us included. "I didn't want to hurt you if I could help it, but now you've pissed me off Salamandermon!" Salamandermon was slowly picking himself off of the arena floor, coming very close to passing out from the impact. It looked like Ginkakumon's superior strength had taken its toll on the digimon very quickly. "S-shit." He said weakly.

Ginkakumon bent over while beginning to glow with a silver hue. "GINKAKU RUSH!" He suddenly bolted forward, far faster than what a being of his size should've been capable of, right towards Salamandermon.

Surprisingly enough Salamandermon wasn't ready to quit. "HEAT BREATH!" He shot a stream of flames right into the ground and propelled himself upward to Ginkakumon's level right as the gargantuan digimon got right to him. "BACKDRAFT!" Salamandermon tucked himself into a ball and glowed with condensed flame energy before suddenly unleashing all of that energy that cause a massive explosion, slightly blinding everyone watching the match. Ginkakumon swore as the explosion engulfed him and he kept running, not being able to see anything. His feet suddenly hit thin air and he lurched forward, hitting the soft grass outside of the arena. The Announcermon came to the middle of the ring where Salamandermon was barely standing, jaw on the verge of dropping from the fact that his act of desperation had brought him the victory.

"AND THE WINNER OF THE FIRST MATCH IS SALAMANDERMON!" The spectators cheered as Ginkakumon stood up angry and shaking.

"He beat me? Like that!? YOU PUNY PIECE OF SHIT!" Hearing that I blanched a bit, remembering something. He reached behind his back and grabbed the giant gourd that until now had been a mystery. The moment he did so, Salamandermon's face showed a look of fear that you'd usually only seen in horror movies. He looked ready to run until the golden digimon, Kinkakumon suddenly appeared on her brother's shoulder and rubbed the back of his head.

I regained my composure quickly and tapped Kamemon. He quickly reached up and pushed a button on my goggles as I pulled them over my eyes. "Calm yourself older brother. I know you're angry about your loss, but it's not time for you to use that yet. Do you want to destroy this entire stadium before we get the orders to do so? Lord Shebamon wouldn't be pleased with you."

Ginkakumon growled but let go of the gourd before slowly heading back to the combatants area with Kinkakumon still on his shoulder. Salamandermon sighed in relief and slowly followed suit. I turned off the goggles while the others gave me a glance, Agunimon included. "Later," I said as the Announcermon calmed the crowd down.

"WHAT A SURPRISING AND FLASHY FINISH THAT WAS, BUT IT'S TIME FOR THE NEXT MATCH! WOULD ICEMON AND BURAIMON PLEASE COME DOWN TO THE ARENA!"

"About time I got my chance to show my stuff and show you weaklings what I'm made of," Icemon said as he walked past us, deliberately bumping into Kumamon's shoulder in a sign of disrespect before heading down to the ring.

"I'm gonna kill that son of a bitch!" Kumamon lurched forward before he was grabbed by Agunimon and Rexmon.

"Calm down Fuzzymon!"

"Yeah buddy! He's not worth the trouble!"

Kamemon backed away from the irate Kumamon, scared. "And I used to beat up this guy? I'm lucky to be alive."

Buraimon walked passed us as well, but didn't do anything disrespectful like Icemon did. "Your friend should really learn some self-control. Also I apologize for earlier. I merely wanted to test your strength before facing you in an official match."

"So you're saying your not a bad guy?"

"Oh no. I only wish to destroy you when you're at your best young human. Until then, I shall do you a favor and...obliterate your friend's source of irritation. I glared at him before he smiled and flew to the ring.

I growled quietly to myself. "I am so gonna kick his smug ass." This caused Kumamon to calm down and the others to stare at me as the two combatants faced each other in the ring.

"LET THE MATCH BEGIN!"

Icemon immediately charged at Buraimon and aimed a rocky fist at his beak, only for Buraimon to side step him and let Icemon's momentum bring him crashing to the ground. As he got up he could hear Kumamon roaring with laughter.

"Shut the hell up you stupid bear! You're next after I get done with this jerk!"

"Big talk from someone who looks like a bear made of rocks!"

What began after that was a swearing match against Kumamon and Icemon as the two just traded insults back and forth. Crowd would've booed but ferocity of the shouting was so entertaining that it might as well have been a fight. Buraimon was getting bored that his opponent was paying him no attention and pulled out his sword, still in its scabbard and struck Icemon once in the head both shutting him up and knocking him out. The Announcermon was about to start the ten count, but Buraimon just lifted him up by his arm and tossed him out of the ring before soaring out of the ring himself and landing back in his seat in the combatant area.

"Well, uh, the winner is Buraimon and he will be facing Salamandermon in the first quarter-final match." The Announcermon's usual excitement was replaced with disappointment at such a short match. "Well Andromon and Kumamon come on up."

Kumamon exhaled before getting out of his seat and grinning at Rexmon and me. "So how bout a fist slash claw slash paw bump for luck?" He seemed a bit nervous as he looked over to Andromon who was headed straight for the arena. The two of us grinned and bumped appendages before he headed out to the arena himself.

"Give em hell Kumamon/Good luck Fuzzymon!" we shouted as Kumamon turned towards Andromon.

"Phew. This guy is the favorite to win, and for good reason considering he's one of the higher level Digimon in the tournament. Two levels higher than me, normally this would be difficult but I have a secret weapon. But for now I'll gauge his abilities."

"LET THE MATCH BEGIN!And for your sakes it better be a good one."

"BEAR FIST!" Kumamon's bear head shaped attack launched from his fist and slammed into Andromon's face. He didn't move but the attack did produce a small cloud of smoke that covered his face. Kumamon capitalized on this and bolted forward before jumping into the air and aiming a fist at Andromon's face.

"THREAT DETECTED! INITIATING COUNTER-ATTACK!" Andromon suddenly brought his arm up right below Kumamon and tried to fling him away, but Kumamon shifted forward and used the momentum of Andromon's arm to jump over Andromon's head.

"FUZZY ROUNDHOUSE!" He twisted in the air and kicked Andromon in the back of the head before kicking off and back flipping to the ground and getting in a stance. "Well that didn't do much. Good thing I'm just getting warmed up."

"Your initial charge showed a splendid display of athletic ability, but you lack in power. That will ultimately be your downfall. Targeting opponent: Kumamon." His chest compartment opened up and revealed two orange missles ready to fire.

"Oh...crap."

"GATTLING MISSILE!" The two missiles shot forward but Kumamon punched the air rapidly before cocking his fist back.

"BEAR FIST BARRAGE!" He shot his fist forward and shot after shot of Bear Fists were sent forward in a straight line right into the first missile. With a roar far louder than what his body could possibly produce the Bear Fists deflected the first missile into the second, making them both explode. The force of the explosion pushed Kumamon back as a blur suddenly shot past him and started spinning it's arm when it got behind him. "This guy...he's fast!"

"SPIRAL SWORD!" His rapidly spinning hand became like a blade and he slashed Kumamon in the back sending him spiraling forward and almost out of the ring. Kumamon hissed in pain as he felt the cut in his back. "D-dammit. This guy is a lot tougher than he looks."

"Give up Kumamon. A Rookie stands no chance against an Ultimate. You fought well, but it's over for you."

Kumamon picked himself off of the ground and put his hands together ignoring the pain in his back as little droplets of blood dripped from his fur. "You'd be surprised what a Rookie can do. Underestimating me was a mistake." He closed his eyes and his fur spiked up. The wind around him seemed to pulse outward, blowing his hat off of his head and revealing his upside down crescent moon shaped scar. Suddenly his aura flared out in the shape of a giant bear. A familiar giant bear. The crowd gawked at the display, as did the other combatants.

"That's Grizzmon, isn't it? What's going on?" I asked to myself. Rexmon smirked in excitement as his eyes narrowed into slits and he growled.

"I think I understand now."

"Huh?" I looked at Rexmon.

Just as quickly as the aura bear had appeared, it disappeared and Kumamon smirked as he flexed his paws. "That's much better. Now let's continue!" He ran forward, far faster than before and punched Andromon right in his exposed leg. Andromon finally gasped in pain and went on down on his knee as he held the now injured leg.

"This is illogical. That strength and speed should beyond your limitations."

"You'd think so, but this isn't really my strength. This is the power of a Champion, and a really handsome and powerful one at that. You're weak for an Ultimate so the power between us should be just about even now."

"I see. A special ability." "SPIRAL SWORD!" His hand started spinning again but Kumamon caught Andromon by his arm right above the spinning blade hand and held it fast as it got closer and closer to his face.

"I'm still gonna try to avoid that if possible though. Upsy daisy!" He threw Andromon over his shoulder and the robotic digimon nearly slide out of the ring but stopped an inch short of the edge. "One more push then. Haaaaaa." He breathed out slowly and the aura Grizzmon appeared around him again before he ran forward and brought both of his paws down in an X shape as his scar glowed white. "GRIZZLY SLASH!" The attack slammed into Andromon and knocked him out of the ring as his mechanical parts overheated, disabling his movement. Nearly everyone in the area had their jaw on the ground save for Buraimon's group who just went wide eyed.

Kumamon's aura dispersed and he sighed, exhausted as he slowly left the ring as Announcermon claimed him the victor. He sat down nimbly in his chair and closed his eyes. "I'm done for the day. Any of you wake me up and I'll kill you."

"No way in hell are you going to sleep until you tell me what that was!" I shook him to wake him but he was knocked out. "Dammit Kumamon!"

"I'm sure he'll explain when he's able to Sta-Oddmon. Good luck in your fight," said Rexmon with a smile as he patted my back.

"Sigh. Well I guess it's my turn to fight. Come on Agunimon." Agunimon grinned and stood up beside me as we got good lucks from Petermon, Capmon, and Crocmon. Buraimon and Cubmon eyed me as Agunimon and I walked out onto the arena platform. "Now I'll finally get to see him fight," the two said to themselves.

Agunimon and I walked out onto the arena floor and stared at one another. He looked pretty tough to me and the way his body seemed to scream "I can use flames!" made me smirk a bit. "Talk about luck on my part, but I can tell this won't be easy. It's about time I applied what Kumamon's been teaching me so far." I bent my legs and slid my right foot out in front of me at an angle as my left hand was balled into a fist right in front of my chest. My right hand was further out, parallel to my face and open. A standard fighting pose, nothing fancy. He tilted his head and gave a grin of his own before cracking his knuckles and bouncing on the balls of his feet.

"Let the match begin!"

Agunimon ran up with a war cry almost before the Announcermon could finish and aimed a punch at the left side of my face over my guard. I quickly brought up my left arm and braced it with my right arm to block his punch. Pain shot though my arm and I clenched my teeth but I quickly twisted around and flipped him over my shoulder to his back and back peddled away from his. "Damn he punches hard," I hissed as I tried to shake the pain out of my arm.

Agunimon stared at the sky and smirked before he got to his feet. "He's not bad, just what I expected from the reports. But he's gonna have to do better than that. Let's make things interesting." He ran at me again faster than before.

"Here he comes again." I got back up in my guard and got ready for another close range attack, but he surprised me when he suddenly jumped and started to spin. "SALAMANDER BREAK!" His body was consumed in flames and a large tornado flew at me. "Exactly what I needed."

I jumped up as far as I could, barely reaching the tornado, and twisted around for a roundhouse in an attempt to cancel out his attack and absorb some fire at the same time. My leg connected but with something hard. The flames dispersed and Agunimon was grinning as his own leg was pushing against mine, but his leg was stronger and he kicked me down to the ground.

"Hey Rexmon, Stanley's not doing too well is he?" Kamemon asked. To him it seemed as though I was far outclassed by Agunimon but Rexmon just grinned as his pupils narrowed slightly.

"Don't speak too soon Kamemon. I think he'll be fine now."

I stood up and looked up at Agunimon who was still grinning at me as he descended from the sky. My right fist was at my side, covered in fire. Agunimon had quickly dispersed his flames before, but I had managed to absorb a bit of it, just enough to get my own powers up and running. I jumped up before he could touch the ground and grabbed his tightly. He winched and threw a punch towards my hand but it came into contact with my other fist and pushed against it.

"Where'd the sudden power boost come from!?"

"Wouldn't you like to know!" I pulled my fist back a bit, throwing his off balance in the air slightly then pushed forward again throwing his upper body away from me before swinging him around and slamming his face first into the arena floor. "BLAZE KICK!" I sent two flaming waves from my leg they both hit him square in the back. I landed back on the ground and stood over him, both fists covered in fire. My eyes were glued to Agunimon as he slowly got to his feet and stared down at me. That's when I realized that he was more than a foot taller than me. That made my eyebrow twitch.

"You're pretty strong like my old teacher said you were. I think I've seen what I need to see." He patted me on the shoulder and slowly walked out of the ring.

"And Agunimon has forfeited the match! The winner is Oddmon!" My head went from Agunimon retreating form back to the Announcermon several times dumbfounded by the way the match had ended. "What the hell man!? No way can he end a match like that!"

"He chose to quit of his own accord and there's nothing you or I can do about it. Take it up with him."

"Tch." I jumped out of the ring in one bound and landed in front of Agunimon. "We need to talk. You held back; I could tell. You also used that fire attack so I'd have a better chance of fighting you. Am I wrong?"

"No you aren't, Stanley. But I had to confirm for myself how good Veemon said you were. I'm here to help you while you're in the area" He smirked and sat down at our table. Kumamon cracked an eye open and sat up as Rexmon had his arms crossed glaring at the fire digimon.

"Uncle Veemon sure is a secretive guy if he knows somebody as strong as you"

Petermon was almost grinning like a madman under his mask. He had seen a little what I could do earlier but what he was seeing now got him really excited. Capmon and Crocmon looked at him nervously and scooted their seats away slowly. "Aye you scaly sea beast. Do ya think we should say sumthin to 'em?"

"I'm not really sure. I've only seem him like this once. That time I lost control of myself before we all joined up together and went on that rampage. He got excited and beat the hell out of me before he snapped out of it. Reminds me of why we all got in a group."

"Because the two of us got scared of him after that and would rather be on his side than face that monster again."

"Well at least I know I'll be safe. You're the one fighting him next," Crocmon deadpanned. Capmon realized this and went immediately pale and got up to walk away from the ring but was grabbed by his collar by Petermon. "Lemme go Peter! I forfeit too!"

"Nope. It's either you fight me in the tournament where there are rules or you face me afterwards where there's nothing to stop me from going all out. Either way, we're going to fight and it'll be fun." Capmon sighed in defeat and let Petermon drag him to the ring. The Announcermon started the match which ended quickly. Petermon immediately flew up into the air and it was raining daggers a second later. Capmon jumped out of the ring, his ass covered in daggers.

"I can't believe I did all of that damn fighting in the prelims just for this! Petermon it's not fair! You ****ing jerk!" Capmon slowly pulled one dagger out of his backside and winced in pain.

Ranamon and Kinkakumon stood up abruptly at the same time, causing everyone to focus on them. The two of them glared at one another, imaginary lightning striking between their eyes. Rexmon was looking back and forth between the two, almost too terrified to speak. "Is anybody else terrified right now?"

"Normally catfights are welcomed in my world, but with all the crazy stuff I've seen in this world there's no telling how bad things are gonna get."

"Zzzzzz" went Kumamon in his sleep.

The match was underway but the two were still just staring daggers at one another. "You should give up now honey because there's no way you're gonna beat me." said Ranamon. Her voice was sweet. Not nice sweet, but the kind of sweet that usually resulted in a stomach ache afterwards. "I doubt you could move to fast on account of being such a fat ass." A loud, audible gasp came from every digimon watching the fight. Oh no.

"Well at least I don't have to worry about other mon thinking that I'm some anorexic little tadpole. You could use a little water weight. Besides, men like a woman with curves" In order to make her point she ran her hands down from her sides to her thick thighs. Rexmon's eyes nearly bugged out of his head. The innocent digimon wasn't ready for a fight like this, and he wasn't even in it. The rest of us had our tongue nearly hanging out of our mouths like we had seen the most delicious piece of meat ever cut from an animal.

Ranamon looked around, seeing the looks of everyone on Kinkakumon instead of her and started steaming; literally steaming. "If you want to show off your body like some two dollar hussy then you go right ahead but I'm not going to lower myself just to keep up with you. I came here to fight and that's what I'm gonna do!" She raised her hands to the sky and a dark cloud began to form over her head before she waved her hand forward and sent it above Kinkakumon's head.

Despite how she was acting a second ago the ogre in her quickly came out. She back stepped out of the way the instant the cloud went over her head, but it started to follow her. She dodged left and right, but the cloud chased her wherever she went. "I don't know what this thing is but I'm sure you can do whatever you're trying to do if I take you out!" She stopped worrying about dodging the cloud and ran straight for Ranamon like a bull. Ranamon smirked and closed her outstretched hand into a fist. "RAIN STREAM!" The cloud that was hanging over Kinkakumon's head and a large stream of water came crashing down into her with enough force to slam her into the ground and pin her there.

"You bitch! It'll take more than this to beat me!" She tried to push up with her arms to get up, but immediately fell right back to the floor under the weight of the water. "My body feels weak. It's like this water is draining my strength." She looked up at Ranamon, glaring at her. "DOKI...DOKI...DOKYUN!" Her body was suddenly covered in lightning and she began to slowly stand despite the powerful stream of water coming down on her. Once Ranamon saw that her attack was no longer working she canceled it so she wouldn't waste energy and raised both of her hands up. As she raised her hands, the water that was left by the attack raised up from the ground. Little droplets of water floated all over the ring and reformed into sharp spears that all aimed at Kinkakumon.

"WHIPPING WAVES!" The spears all rained down on Kinkakumon at once but dispersed the moment they came into contact with her strange lightning aura. Ranamon growled in irritation and prepared to attack again, but Kinkakumon jumped forward and kicked Ranamon in the head faster than the eye could see. A sickening crack was hear as she was forced to the ground.

"LIGHTNING OGRE KICK!" She repeated the kick several times and laughed the entire time. Ranamon laid there gasping for air as her body became bruised and she could feel her bones creaking.

With tears in her eyes she pushed herself up. She looked up into Kinkakumon's eyes with as much hatred as she could muster and began to walk out of the ring, but before she got very far, Kinkakumon suddenly appeared in front of her and pulled out a strange golden mace that was covered in large spikes.

"What are you doing!? I'm forfeiting." Shouted Ranamon as she stopped in her tracks.

"Oh no you're not bitch. You made the mistake of pissing me off and now I'm gonna pound you until I'm satisfied!" She swung her arm as hard as she could, hitting Ranamon in the arm and impaling the spikes. She slammed into the ground and looked up as Kinkakumon raised the mace over her head ready to slam it down on Ranamon. Her arm was bleeding profusely and her eyes were labored as if she were about to pass out. "Die bitch!"

"PYRO SHOT!" A fireball slammed into Kinkakumon's mace and knocked it from her hand before she could slam it down on Ranamon. We had all stood up to aid Ranamon as we felt that it had gone too far, but Rexmon had beat us all in taking action. He ran out onto the stage between Ranamon and Kinkakumon and growled at the latter. "Take one more step towards her and I'll turn you into bar-b-que."

"Move out of my way you little maggot. You don't know her; why do you care what happens to her?" Kinkakumon pulled out her mace and heaved it over her shoulder, ready to use it again. Rexmon growled as smoke billowed from his open mouth. Before the two could make a move against one another the Announcermon jumped between them and pushed them away from each other.

"What did you think you were doing!?" he shouted at Kinkakumon "I should disqualify you for using excessive force and attempting to kill your opponent. But because of you," he turned to Rexmon. "This young lady has been disqualified. Kinkakumon wins the match due to disqualification!" Rexmon snorted, not caring about what the Announcermon had to say and lifted the now unconscious Ranamon over his shoulder and left the ring. The Announcermon sighed and called out to Rexmon. "There's medical bay out in the back! Take her there and come back for your match!"

Rexmon turned back and nodded before bolting off towards the medical bay as Kinkakumon slowly exited the ring grunting in irritation and anger. "That bastard!" She growled to herself as her teeth grinded and her grip on her mace tightened considerably. "I'll kill him if it's the last thing I do!"

…...

Kamemon, Kumamon, and I bolted down the hallway towards the infirmary after Rexmon had picked up Ranamon and ran off. Ranamon had taken a lot of damage in her fight against Kinkakumon but it wasn't apparent how much until we all saw all the blood on the arena floor that trailed in the direction that Rexmon went into. We ran down the hall and saw the trail turn into a room on the right.

"In there!" Kumamon yelled.

We entered the room and saw Rexmon standing my Ranamon who was laying in bed not unlike those you would see in human hospitals. She even had an IV drip attached to her arm. Rexmon's ears perked up at our entrance and he turned to us. "Fuzzymon? Kamemon? Stanleymon? What are you doing here?"

"Hey Chomper-face. Well Kamemon and Stanley were worried about you so they dragged me along to see how you and Ranamon were." Kamemon and I glared at him, knowing that he had been the one to damn near drag us out to check on him. He just couldn't admit that he cared a great deal about Rexmon.

"How is she, Rexmon?" I took notice of her shallow breathing, but it was still steady. Rexmon turned back to her and smiled lightly before turning back and leaving the room without saying a word and leaving us all confused as we collected ourselves and followed.

"She's pretty banged up, but she'll be fine. It'll just take sometime for her to heal. But I have to hurry to my match."

"Rexmon!" He stopped in his tracks and turned around to Kumamon who had actually called him by his name. "I can tell you're angry Rexmon, but don't get ahead of yourself in this fight. You're fast, probably faster than anything I've ever seen, but if you lose yourself in your anger you will lose."

Rexmon closed his eyes and started to speak. "Fuzzymon. No. Kumamon. I appreciate your concern, but I will be just fine. Just watch my fight and cheer me on is all I ask." As he spoke his voice got strangely deeper and deeper, like a child suddenly sounding like a boy in his late teens. He opened his eyes slowly and revealed that they were slitted before turning back around and running towards the arena.

…...

Crocmon was sitting in the middle of the ring waiting for Rexmon to get back. The Announcermon had decided to five Rexmon ten minutes to take Ranamon to the infirmary, but he only had less than a minute left. The Announcermon counted the seconds in his head and sighed.

"If he's not here in the next ten seconds I'll have to disqualify him.

"I don't think that will be a problem." Crocmon smirked and stood up. "How long have you been behind me young one?"

Announcermon was confused until he heard Rexmon's voice come from behind Crocmon. "For about a minute now. Let's get this started." The two jumped from the middle of the ring to opposite sides. Crocmon took one look at Rexmon's eyes and smirked. There was a ferocity in them that he ever rarely saw in a Digimon, but at the same time there was so much focus that it threatened to pierce through him.

"I see. So what Kinkakumon did got you this riled up. Well I'll test you to see if have what it takes to fight her." He took his cutlass and tossed back, where Petermon safely caught it.

"If he's not using this then he plans on going all out. I hope nobody dies this time."

Announcermon looked at the two, feeling the tension between them as Crocmon's already slitted eyes narrowed even further and his muscles tensed. "Oh crap. W-well let the match begin!"

What happened after that was a fight of beasts. Rexmon and Crocmon both leap across to each other in a single bound and latched their jaws on each other's shoulders. They looked into each other's eyes, growling and trying to rip flesh from bones. The started to roll around, claws slashing at each other's bodies, scratching and clawing at anything they could reach. Rexmon let go first, being weaker than Crocmon and jumped away from him, only for Crocmon to latch his powerful jaws on Rexmon's tail in midair and slam him back down on the ground.

"Is that all you got boy!?" Crocmon growled and swung his tail around at Rexmon, but Rexmon narrowed his eyes and flipped over Crocmon's tail. Crocmon tried to hit him a few more times, but Rexmon dived or jumped over it every time.

"PYRO SHOT!" Rexmon's fireball hit Crocmon right in the face and sent him stumbling back.

"Damn brat!"

"PYRO SHOT!" This fireball came from behind Crocmon and hit him in the back of the head and sent him forward. Suddenly fireballs started coming from every angle as Rexmon ran around Crocmon and fired wave after wave of Pyro Shots.

"Fine, if that's how you want to play it, then I got something for you." He opened his maw wide and whipped around shooting water from it and extinguished anymore fireballs that were coming towards him. "AQUA SPOUT!" He stopped spinning and aimed at Rexmon and fired. The powerful stream of water hit him right in the chest as he went down, breathing hard and clutching his chest.

"I gotta give it to you. You're one hell of a brawler kid. But why do you want to face Kinkakumon so badly? You didn't know that Ranamon so why should you care so much what Kinkakumon did to her?"

Rexmon winced and looked up at Crocmon who was now lumbering over him. "Ranamon fought her hardest and admitted that she couldn't win, but Kinkakumon took it too far just because it was fun for her." He thought back to what happened recently to what happened with Swabmon and Deckmon. "I lost two good friends recently. They didn't have good reasons for doing things sometimes, but they were willing to sacrifice themselves for something they believe was right and I want to live by their example!"

"Chomper-face!" Kamemon, Kumamon, and I had made it back right after the match started and we were cheering Rexmon on just like he asked. "Kick his ass!"

Crocmon looked at them and chuckled. "Nice friends you got there. What the!" Rexmon had jumped up and punched Crocmon in the stomach as hard as he could, sending Crocmon into the sky. "What a cheap shot," he wheezed.

"Well Fishymon and Boneymon, or should I saw Swabmon and Deckmon were pirates, so sometimes they could be a bit underhanded. I used to be above those things, but I need to grow up and do what it takes to win sometimes." He jumped up in the sky until he was level with Crocmon and opened his mouth wide. It looked like particles were being drawn to the space between his mouth until a ball of fire formed, but it was different from his Pyro Shot. "And with growth comes stronger abilities". With a loud cry of "PYRO BOMB!" the fireball slammed into Crocmon but didn't just disperse like the other ones. It kept going and slammed Crocmon into the wall outside of the ring before finally dispersing Crocmon fell to the ground.

Rexmon fell to the ground and laughed as he had just won his match. He looked over to Kinkakumon and glared. "One step closer to you."

After we had gotten Rexmon out of the ring we sat him down so he could rest, but Kumamon lightly punched him in the arm. "So is this little personality change permanent or will we being seeing ole Chomper-face again anytime soon." He got his answer when Rexmon licked him face and laughed.

"Depends on my mood Fuzzymon."

"Dammit Chomper-face!"

Crocmon looked over to him as he sat down and rubbed his stomach. "Hell of a match kid."

It was now time for the final match of the first round and the final combatants were in the ring.

Cubmon face against Kotemon who had come with Buraimon's group. He was only a rookie so it didn't make a lot of sense to me. I looked at Cubmon who seemed to only focus on his opponent. He was intensely focus and it kind of unnerved me. A bit.

The announcermon entered the ring and the announced the start of the match.

Cubmon unstrapped his staff from his back and laid it across his shoulders before hanging his arms over it. He looked relaxed but Kotemon noticed that his stature allowed for a number of counterattacks depending on which part of Cubmon's body he aimed for.

"He has a better reach than I do but he needs the time to move his staff if I attack him. But he may have something up his sleeve." He looked over at his 'comrades' smirking faces. They didn't have one ounce of faith in him. "I want them to see me as an equal no matter what. I want to be useful!" He bolted forward and aimed his sword at Cubmon's left leg. It made contact and Kotemon's glowing eyes widened in joy at his good fortune, until Cubmon cartwheeled over his sword the moment it made contact then he spun around hitting Kotemon in the head with the side of his staff.

Kotemon went down hard and arched his back in pain as he held his head. His sword went sliding across the ring out of his reach and fought to catch his breath. He got to his feet as Cubmon jumped forward, raising his staff above his head to attack. Kotemon rolled under him at the last minute as the staff hit the ground, cracking it. "This guy...he's strong. Stronger than what a rookie should be. If that had been my head losing would be the least of my problems; that would've killed me."

Cubmon leaned his staff over his shoulder and turned around to Kotemon who looked up at him. "You've got pretty good reflexes, but you're not much of a fighter like the rest of your friends. Makes me wonder why they brought you."

"They brought me to be a meat shield," Kotemon said as he stood up his voice shaking. "They thought it would be funny to help me get into the actual tournament then watch me get beaten by whoever I fought against. But I was okay with it, because I saw this as a chance to show my strength and get them to accept me. The army accepted me when nobody else would, but my fellow soldiers didn't. I want them to accept me as an equal. I've been alone my entire life and I'm sick of it. He was suddenly in front of Cubmon and punched him hard in the face, knocking him far enough away to grab for his sword. "HOTHEAD!"His sword was suddenly covered in hot flames which reflected in his eyes. "Come!"

"Such innocent reasoning. But how could you be so foolish? Would you really want to be friends with being who would do what Kinkakumon did to Ranamon just a little while ago?" Kotemon visibly flinched. "That's what I thought. Are you really so desperate for companions that you would just turn the other cheek at the pain of others? YOU FOOL!" He started to spin his staff around and it started to glow slowly the more he did it. He jumped into the air again, his staff bright gold. "STAFF STRIKE!"

"Why would you want to be their equal when you're already so much higher than any of them?"

"Huh?" Kotemon looked up at Cubmon in confusion. "What are you talking about? I'm nowhere near as strong as any of them."

"That's not what I mean!" Kotemon flinched again. "That last strike had a lot of emotion in it, more than I can say for any of them. If you're really so desperate for a friend then I'll be your friend. Anything is better then seeing that fiery spirit wasted on scum like them."

"Cubmon. Why?"

He looked at the sky so that Kotemon couldn't see his sad smile. "Let's just say that I can relate." His brought his head back down, his face stoic. "And I want to see how strong you get when your growth isn't hindered by them."

Kotemon turned his head in thought towards his sword and picked it up. "Do you really think that highly of me after so short a time?"

"Yeah. Fellow warriors can get to know each other better through battle. I'll be honest though; as you are now you can't beat me, but I want to continue and see much stronger you can with some actual encouragement."

Kotemon smiled, possibly the time in a long time though a person wouldn't be able to tell with the mask, and pointed his sword towards the sky. "HOT HEAD!" His sword was covered in flames again. He ran at Cubmon but jumped early and started spinning. (picture Mikasa's spin move from Shingeki no Kyojin) Cubmon was confused until he realized that Kotemon was building momentum for a much stronger strike.

"Tch." he raised his staff at the last second and it collided with Kotemon's sword. The two pushed against each other but Cubmon was being pushed back slightly. "Damn! I was expecting a better fight, but it's like he's a completely different Digimon!" Kotemon's entire body seemed to flash green for a split second. Cubmon's eyes widened in shock and he was being pushed back more and more. "Fine. You didn't want me to hold back right?" "FELINE FURY!" He jumped away and his claws came out of his paw. He slashed his claws forward and into Kotemon's chest with enough force to knock Kotemon all the way to the other side of the arena. Cubmon was growling and panting as Kotemon was breathing just as hard and looking over at Cubmon. Before Cubmon could make a move though Kotemon stood up and slid his sword into his sash and bowed respectfully at Cubmon before walking past Cubmon and out of the ring feeling happier than he could ever remember himself being.

Cubmon sighed in exhaustion and fell on his behind as Announcermon shouted his victory and crowd roared. Cubmon looked at Kotemon's retreating form and remembered the flash from earlier. It was only for a fraction of a second, faster than what eyes should be able to notice, but he was sure that for that split second Kotemon was covered in the silhouette of a much bigger digimon with a large sword. He looked over from Kotemon to Kumamon who was now fully awake thanks to the now uproarious crowd. "It looked like the same thing that Kumamon did against Andromon. Could it be a coincidence?"

"THAT CONCLUDES THE FIRST ROUND OF FIGHTS AND THE FIRST DAY OF THE MIGHTYMON TOURNAMENT! TOMORROW WE WILL CONTINUE WITH THE QUARTERFINALS AFTER GIVING TODAY'S VICTORS A CHANCE TO REST SO THAT THEY CAN BE AT FULL STRENGTH TOMORROW!"

Now chapter is over but expect an update within the next few weeks. I promise It won't take me long this time to update, so please leave your review before you leave. Also, to those who have read up to this point, I made a change in chapter 3 regarding how I met Chase. It's a major change having to do with something that was really important to the plot of the story later on, but I've decided to bring it in earlier so if you haven't already read it then I suggest you go back and read otherwise you'll be confused later on. Thank you.
