"Raphael! Are you alright?" Mona Lisa asked as she knelt down beside him. Raph groaned and shook the stars out of his head. Whose stupid idea was it to challenge her to hand-to-hand sparring again? Oh right… It had been his.
"Fine…. I'm… Gah, son of a-!"
Raph tightly grasped his arm and held it close to his side. The joint near his shoulder was out of place, and the support he was giving himself was not enough. He knew when she had thrown him across the Holo-trainer that something was wrong, and now shooting pains flickered up his arm like bolts of lightning.
"I think I dislocated it," he growled through his teeth. "I gotta go see Donnie… Get this fixed."
He attempted to struggle to his feet, but Mona gently put a hand on his plastron. Raph stilled at the gesture and looked up into her beautiful face.
"Let me fix it," she insisted shortly.
She reached out, and at the gentlest graze on his bicep, Raph groaned and involuntarily shrank away from her. Mona looked momentarily hurt, before she covered it masterfully.
"Please."
Her voice was stern, but kind, gently ordering his acquiescence. He couldn't deny her, so he tried to relax, which was a lot harder than it looked.
"Lie back," she instructed and dutifully, he complied. Mona grasped his arm with both hands, attempting to be gentle, though it still hurt like hell. Raph braced himself for what she was about to do, but it didn't prepare him for the rush of sharp agony when she moved it.
"Gah!"
He cried out when she pulled on his injured arm. Raph felt the thud of the joint being pulled back into place, which prompted another muffled curse. His shoulder already felt swollen, but at least the pain wasn't excruciating anymore. Cradling his arm against his plastron, he sat up and looked up into her concerned yellow eyes.
"How'd you know how to do that?" He asked, slightly out of breath as adrenaline continued to course through his system.
"You are not the first injured comrade I have had to help on the battlefield," she said with a shrug. "I did not like to see you in such pain."
"Is… there anything you can't do?" He asked with a half smile. She relaxed and returned it as she pulled him to his feet with as much care as was possible.
"There are many things I cannot do; but for you, I will try anything."
