Hey guys! Decided last night (late last night) that I wanted to write an Easter story. Short and sweet, but I hope you enjoy it regardless.

If you celebrate Easter, happy Easter!

"What's the point of this again?" Weiss asked, holding up a thin plastic egg as Yang dutifully filled several others with pieces of candy.

"You hide the eggs, and people go looking for them. When they find them, they get to keep the candy inside!"

"That sounds ridiculous."

"Ridiculously fun."

"No, just ridiculous. Why spend the time and effort filling all these eggs and then finding places to hide them? Why not just give them the candy? It would save everyone involved a lot of time."

Sighing at the (perfectly reasonable) questions, Yang placed four perfect golden eggs out on the countertop.

"It's supposed to be fun, Weiss. And I'm not teaching you what 'fun' is again."

Rolling her eyes, Weiss picked up her bag and stepped away from the island. "I don't have time for your 'enlightenment,' anyways," she teased in return. "Ruby will be home soon and I don't want to miss her."

"Right, right. Oh - here!" Picking up the fifth egg, Yang quickly stuffed a small candy bar inside and snapped it together before handing it to Weiss with a smile. "Happy Easter, Weiss."

"Happy Easter, Yang," Weiss replied, accepting the gift even though she had no need nor want for the candy inside. However, she happened to know of a certain brunette with a sweet tooth who would surely love it. "We'll see you and Blake later tonight," she added while leaving Yang and Blake's house behind and heading home.

It wasn't a long journey between their two houses, but when she arrived she discovered that Ruby had beaten her. How did she know? Because there was a thin layer of red rose petals scattered across the front entrance - the front entrance that had just been cleaned this morning.

"Ruby?"

Calling out into the quiet house, Weiss walked into the kitchen and set the plastic egg on the island along with her bag. Not three seconds later, a rush of rose-scented wind swept past her - right before Ruby crashed into her and lifted her feet off the ground in a hug.

"Weiss! You're homeee!"

When Ruby set Weiss down and nuzzled into the crook of her neck, she pretended to be disgruntled - pretended, because she secretly loved the enthusiastic greeting Ruby always saved for her.

"Of course I'm home," she replied, pulling away and pressing a kiss to Ruby's cheek. The instant she did so, she smiled from nothing but the contentedness of being together once more. "You didn't think I'd miss spending Easter together, did you?"

"Well, no…" As Ruby drew out the word, her eyes drifted across the room, and the next second, she let out a gasp that made Weiss jump in surprise. "Oh my god!" Disappearing from Weiss' side, Ruby reappeared at the island and snatched the Easter egg from underneath Weiss' bag. "Weiss!"

Ruby brandished the egg in the air for Weiss to see - as if she was unfamiliar with the item she'd walked in the door with minutes earlier.

"I found one!" Ruby said, pulling it open and squealing in delight when she found the chocolate inside. Immediately unwrapping it, she stuck it in her mouth and finished it in just a few seconds.

"How many are there?" she then asked, her silver eyes sparkling in anticipation.

Mouth falling slightly open, Weiss searched long and hard for an answer. She hadn't expected Ruby to be so enthusiastic about an Easter egg hunt. But…of course Ruby was thrilled at the idea of searching for plastic toys filled with candy.

If this was something Ruby would even remotely enjoy, Weiss was going to make damn sure there was an Easter egg hunt at their house today.

"A lot," she answered, and her heart jumped happily when Ruby squealed again in joy. "But you can't start looking for the rest right now," she quickly added. "You have to wait until I give you the ok."

After Ruby obediently nodded her head, Weiss grabbed her bag and headed right back to the front door. "No searching," she repeated, giving Ruby a stern look. "Promise?"

"I promise!" Ruby chirped, drawing an 'x' across her heart at the same time. Knowing that Ruby would never break a promise, Weiss nodded and flew out the door on her unexpected destination.

Once out of earshot of the house, she lifted her scroll and called in reinforcements.

"Hello, Weiss."

"Winter -" she replied, saving the formalities for a day when she had the time. "I need your help with something."

"With what?"

"You won't believe me even if I told you. Can you be at my house in thirty minutes?"

"Sure. No one seems to be working today, anyway. The office is empty."

The comments made Weiss shake her head in disbelief.

"Winter, it's a holiday."

"Oh…" There was a brief pause as Winter surely tried to figure out what holiday it was, before she finally added, "I'll see you in thirty minutes then."

Giving her sister a 'thanks,' Weiss put her scroll away and smiled as a plan formed in her mind. With Winter enlisted to help, she would create the best Easter egg hunt Ruby could imagine. Time was short, but if Schnees were good at anything, it was thriving under pressure.

But first...she needed to buy every single Easter egg left in the store.

"Hey Blake!"

Bounding into their bedroom, Yang grinned when she caught Blake in the midst of changing. It hadn't been planned or anything, but what fortunate timing!

"Yes?" Undisturbed, Blake casually pulled her shirt over her head before pulling on another one. She knew exactly what that did to Yang's ability to form complete sentences, yet did it anyway. And from the smirk she sent over one shoulder, she enjoyed it mightily.

"Uh…the - I set up the…" Taking a deep breath and searching for whatever she'd been doing before racing into the room, Yang finally shook her head and smiled. "I sent Weiss home with an Easter egg! That should be fun."

"You sent Weiss home with one of the eggs?" Blake asked, raising one brow in surprise.

"Yup!"

"You realize they're going to be late for dinner now."

Grinning at the accurate conclusion to that completely innocent action, Yang nodded.

"Yup!"

Chuckling at the admission, Blake shook her head and walked over - her hips swaying enough for Yang's eyes to subconsciously drop towards them.

"Yang…"

"Uh, yup?" Yang sputtered, raising her eyes and grinning. Blake just caught her staring, but so what? Blake always caught her staring.

"Didn't you set something up for me?"

"Oh!" Jolting out of her haze, Yang nodded in excitement. "I did! I hid the rest of the Easter eggs for you - you wanna try to find them now?"

"Sure."

"Yes! Ok, and just a warning - I hid them super well this year. So...good luck."

Blake rolled her eyes at the boast, but reached out a hand to stop Yang before she could walk away.

"Behind the TV, under the kitchen sink, in an empty bottle in the fridge, and on one of the ceiling fan blades."

At first staring in shock as Blake listed every single location she'd painstakingly selected for this egg hunt, Yang then shook her head and laughed.

"How the hell do you know?" she asked, absolutely adoring the playful smirk Blake gave her in return.

"Easy. I watched you hide them."

Yang laughed harder. Because, one - she'd had no idea Blake had been watching her. And two - of course Blake had been watching her.

"You know, that might be creepy to anyone else," Yang replied, secretly (and not-so-secretly) loving how stealthy Blake was - even in their own home.

"And to you?"

"I think it's amazing."

The response made Blake smile - which, in turn, made Yang's heart do an elated flip in her chest. But when Blake prepared to move away, it was Yang's turn to catch her attention.

"But you missed one."

That got Blake's full attention in a hot hurry. Turning back to Yang, Blake's expression was one of utter disbelief - maybe even suspicion that Yang was telling a lie.

"Missed one?"

The way Blake said the word nearly made Yang burst out laughing. Combined with the look in her eyes, Blake was absolutely miffed and disbelieving that the statement could be true. Her? Miss something that was hidden? How could she possibly have missed something?

Having stepped up her Easter egg game to expert levels, Yang hid one of the eggs while still at the store. Sure, the other customers looked at her like she was absolutely crazy, but the expression on Blake's face right now was totally worth it.

Nodding several times, Yang tried to think of a way to stretch this moment out as long as humanly possible. It wasn't often she got to pull the wool over Blake's eyes, after all, and she wanted to enjoy every second of it!

On the other hand, she was so excited that she'd been successful that she couldn't contain the information any longer.

"Guess you weren't watching me close enough," she teased, making Blake arch one brow in continued incredulity.

"Where is it?"

Shrugging her shoulders, Yang tried not to laugh. She failed and chuckled, but casually added, "I dunno - but you might have to frisk me to find out."

Narrowing her eyes, Blake walked right up to Yang, looked down, and immediately burst into laughter.

"Alright. You got me there," she said, turning to walk away.

"Woah, woah, hold on a second!" Yang called out, rushing after Blake as she stepped into the hall. "Aren't you gonna get it?"

"You just want me to reach down your shirt."

"Well, yeah, of course."

There were a lot of things Yang claimed to be - and completely see-through with her intentions involving Blake was one of them. Was that a bad thing?

"I hope it hasn't melted by now."

Eyes widening in surprise, Yang glanced down her shirt before laughing and chasing Blake downstairs.

"Guess you'll just have to find out!"
