Kate was still awake when Dean came back into the room. With the lights off he couldn't tell if she was awake or not. Dean quietly went over to the empty bed and got in. The room was quiet as the two of them lay in their beds. With her eyes getting heavy, Kate was starting to give into falling asleep. Her body jerked awake when she felt the bed move.
"Didn't mean to wake you." Dean said when Kate turned to see him getting into the bed next to her. "Go back to sleep." He said as he pulled the cover back up to cover both of them.
"I didn't realize you were still awake." Kate said as she settled back down in the bed.
"I can't seem to calm down from what Issac said." Dean laid there on his back looking up at the dark ceiling.
"He doesn't know what he is talking about Dean." Kate turned to face Dean and gently placed her hand on his arm. "Don't listen to him."
"What he said was true." Dean said still looking up at the ceiling. "I should have stopped it somehow."
"No," Kate said, "There wasn't anything you could have done."
"I should have gotten to Sam quicker. I should have been able to stop Jake from stabbing Sam. Or at least stop him from opening that damn door." Dean listed off.
"You have saved so many lives. You saved my life." Kate sat up and looked into Deans eyes. "You can't blame yourself for every bad thing that happens out there."
"I don't have the luxury of thinking that way." He responded. "Not with what I do."
"I guess you will just have to use your anger towards Issac for this job." Kate said laying back down on the bed, pulling the blankets back up her body. "Show him what you can do." Kate gave Dean a grin. "Show him who the better hunter is!"
Dean turned his head to look at Kate as she grinned at him.
"Get some sleep Kate." Dean said as he gave her a light kiss on the cheek; his way of thanking her for believing in him as much as she did.
"Night Dean." Kate rolled over facing the edge of the bed.
"Night." Dean rolled over too and lightly placed his hand on her hip.
Kate turned over opening her eyes. She was surprised to see that Dean was still in bed.
"Morning." Dean said glancing over towards her.
"Did you get any sleep last night?" Kate rubbed the sleep out of her eyes.
"Some. You?"
"Not much, this bed is horrible." Kate said as she sat up. Dean laughed as he turned and let his legs hang off the side of the bed.
"Come on, let get ready." Standing up Dean made his way over to where he had left his bag the night before. Kate turned to look at him realizing that he wasn't wearing his normal shorts and top. Kate couldn't stop staring at him. She could have sworn he was wearing a top last night when he climbed into the bed with her. She scanned her eyes around the room and found a top tossed onto the empty bed.
"Kate?" Deans voice pulled her out of her thoughts.
"Huh?" She responded as she looked back at him. This time she couldn't take her eyes off his chest.
"I said I was going to go find Sammy. We should get dressed and head out."
Kate just nodded her head. She didn't think she would be able to say anything right now. She had known Dean for almost a year now, and she would be lying to herself if she didn't say he was a very good looking man. But in all this time that she had spent with him, she had never seen him shirtless. And she couldn't pull her eyes off on him.
"Yeah, ok." Kate managed to get out before looking at the bed sheets that had pooled down on her lap.
Dean pulled a shirt on over his head before he left the room to look for his brother.
"Get a grip Kate." She said to herself as she got out of the bed and went to her own bag to find clothes to wear. Kate told herself that she was only staring at him because it had been a long, long time since she had been out on a date with a guy. In fact it had been over a year. "I need to get out more." She said as she took her clothes and left the room to shower.
After her shower Kate made her way downstairs and found Bobby and Sam sitting at a table as Dean leaned against an old counter.
"Just in time." Bobby said, "Looks like we might get lucky and find a lead.
"What did you find?" Kate asked as she moved to sit at the table between Sam and Bobby.
"Some woman beat another woman's head into a car windshield." Bobby said, "And it seems she did it because she wanted the woman's shoes."
"Her shoes?" Dean questioned.
"Looks that way." Bobby said.
"Are we thinking demon?" Dean asked.
"Not really sure. But with what we found yesterday. My guess would be a demon is behind this."
"Ok, Dean and I will go in as Feds." Sam said getting up from his chair to go back to his room and change; with Dean walking out after him.
"Sounds good, I'll take Kate with me." Bobby said, "Did you bring anything nice to wear?" He asked her.
