This is a short chapter only because I think it's a good suspenseful place to cut it. Nothing more to say there.
Marissa ran as fast as she could until she got to Dortonnon Street. She needed to catch a breath now, and she was a little bit scared now. With a deep breath, she approached the house. It seemed quiet now, and she was a little wary now. The house was now an eerie shade of purple like the liquid in the syringe. It was dark in there, but Marissa could see a light coming from the kitchen. The steps seemed to expand as she got closer, and when she entered the room, the door was suddenly closed behind her by a bunch of the dolls. Another light suddenly lit the room, and there she was. The woman who had started this whole mess. She still had the same appearance except she wore a smug grin as she approached Marissa.
"Darling, I'm so happy you're returned home," she said but Marissa wouldn't hear of it. She backed away and avoided the hug.
"Where's Phineas?" was all Marissa had to say.
"Oh, him," 'Mother' replied, and another light was illuminated to reveal Phineas gagged and tied to a chair, held by two of the dolls.
"Phineas!" Marissa tried to go to him, but her arm was grabbed by 'Mother', "Let him go!"
"Oh, I'll gladly let him go if you promise to stay," she replied, "If not...well I supposed he'd make a wonderful doll servant too. Then again…"
The woman gave a dark grin which sent a chill up Marissa's spine, "He doesn't have much time before that poison kills him...does he?"
Marissa gasped, "YOU poisoned him?!"
"Of course I did, but more of that later," she said, and the dolls took Phineas' gag off, "are you going to stay with me so I'll let him go, or are you going to let him die?"
"Marissa, you came for me!" Phineas said, his eyes sparkling, "You remember?"
"Not exactly," Marissa said, "I just have this weird urge to protect you. I-I don't want anything to happen to you."
Phineas' eyes widened slightly, "Wow, even when you don't remember who you are you're protective of me."
Marissa shrugged, but they both looked at the woman as she returned her gaze to Marissa, "So, Darling, what'll it be?"
Marissa was silent. Suddenly the dolls had a little thing that forced Phineas to stick and keep his tongue out as 'Mother' approached with the syringe of potion that would turn him into a doll. He struggled as the little device kept his tongue out. He also whimpered in fear. However, just before the needle could pierce his tongue…
"ALRIGHT I'LL DO IT!" Marissa screamed, "Just leave Phineas alone. Let him go, and cure him...and I'll be your doll."
"Wise choice, sweetheart," the woman said, and the dolls untied Phineas.
Phineas however wasn't going down without a fight. The dolls unfortunately were able to overpower him, and he watched as Marissa stuck out her tongue with no fighting back as she'd promised. Phineas struggled with a furious glare and all the strength he could muster as 'Mother' wrapped her arm around Marissa and brought the syringe closer and closer to Marissa's tongue.
"No!" he struggled, his blood boiling hot, "I. Won't!"
The syringe got closer…
"Let you!"
Closer...
"Do this!"
Closer...
"To my…"
Closer…
"SISTER!" his voice echoed just as the needle pierced Marissa's tongue.
Oops, did I do a major cliffhanger?
Phineas: YES, YES YOU DID!
