Chapter 28: No Good
Adam opened his locker and was greeted with a sight he didn't want to see. Over the months he had been in school his locker had managed to collect a few pictures of him and Cooper and Miri. He started taking them down, the one with Cooper in them, and shoving them onto the top shelf. It was still hard to believe that he and Cooper were over.
"Adam," Mina said walking up to him with a huge smile on her face. She was holding a piece of paper in her hands.
"What's up?" Adam asked.
"Well, I was talking to my parents last night and Hank over heard me talking about how sad you were. He then made something to cheer up my friend," she said holding out the paper.
Adam took it. He looked at it and smiled. It was a picture of smile. Underneath it, sloppily written, was Adam's name and Hank's name. There was a mess of bright colors scribbled to fill in the smiley face.
"I helped him put the names on by guiding his hand but he did this all on his own," Mina said, "The smiley face is to remind you to smile and the colors are happy colors as he calls them," Mina explained.
"Thank you," Adam said smiling. He grabbed the tape from the top shelf of his locker and replaced the pictures of Cooper. "Tell Hank, that I said thank you," he added. He grabbed his morning class's books and shut his locker.
Mina smiled and hooked her arm with Adam's arm. They walked down the hallway together talking and laughing. Mina never once mentioned Copper or asked about him. Adam was thankful for that. He didn't want to think about Cooper right now. Everything was fine, until he had to go to class. Adam and Cooper had set up their schedules so they had several classes together, Adam was now regretting that decision.
Adam walked into his first class and saw Cooper wasn't there yet. Adam took his usual seat, but everyone was looking at him. He knew they knew about his break up with Cooper. He had seen the video someone had posted of Kyle yelling at Cooper. Adam had been mad at Kyle for doing that, but at the same time he was proud that Kyle would do that for him. Adam didn't care if people knew, he wouldn't let them see him hurting. He'd put on a mask and pretend he was fine.
Cooper walked into the room. He froze when he saw Adam. They locked eyes for a moment. Adam bit his tongue to keep from reacting. Cooper sat on the other side of the room. Adam was thankful for that, yet upset at the same time. Cooper wasn't even going to talk to him.
Class started, but Adam couldn't focus on what their teacher was saying. He was thinking about Cooper. Seeing him for the first time in days brought everything back, but Adam was holding up pretty good. At least he was crying anymore. He wasn't going to let Cooper see that. He was better than that. Besides if Cooper could look like he was ok, then so could Adam.
-Aftermath-
Jake bit his lip as he walked up the stairs to his and Damien's apartment. He had just gotten out of class and he only had one late class this afternoon. He knew Damien didn't have any morning classes today and would be home. He need to just talk to Damien and get everything out in the open.
Jake walked into the apartment and was greeted with the sight of Damien sitting at the table with his laptop out and notebooks were scattered around the table.
"Hey Jake," Damien said as he typed furiously at his computer.
"Hey, do you have a minute to talk," Jake asked walking over to the table.
"I'm just finishing a paper that I have due this afternoon," Damien said as he continued to type.
"Well, this is kind of important," Jake said biting his lip. He wasn't sure how Damien would handle this.
"What?" Damien asked still not looking at Jake.
"Well, uh," Jake said slowly. He brought his hand up to his arm and rubbed it nervously. "Remember how I said Cooper came here to talk to me about Adam before they broke up?" he asked.
"Yeah, what's wrong," Damien asked finally looking up at Jake. He frown as he saw how uneasy Jake was.
"There was something I didn't tell you," Jake said slowly.
"What?" Damien asked confused. He stood up from the table and walked over to Jake. "Is something wrong, you can tell me anything," he said.
"Well, I let Cooper vent and gave my opinions and told him I understood where he was coming from. I mean you know how Adam gets, and then he…uh…we kind of…" Jake trailed off. Damien looked at Jake waiting for him to finish. "we…uh…kissed," Jake said finally.
"What?" Damien asked.
"Ok, he kissed me, he was venting and…and…it didn't mean anything Day, I swear I'd never cheat on you," Jake said.
"Wait, Cooper came over here when he was upset and kissed you?" Damien asked.
"I'm sorry," Jake said hanging his head. Damien just started laughing. Jake looked up at him confused, that wasn't the reaction he was expecting.
"I'm sorry Jake, it's not like you kissed him," Damien said walking over to the brunette. "You didn't kiss him right?" he asked.
"No, I didn't," Jake said.
"I'll admit I'm not happy that he kissed you, but I know you'd never cheat on me like that," Damien said.
"I cheated with you," Jake said looking down at the floor.
"That's because Evan was a controlling asshole," Damien replied, "I'm much sweeter than him," he said. Jake laughed at that.
"Oh you're sweet alright," Jake said rolling his eyes.
"I am, I mean I won you over didn't I?" Damien asked as he wrapped his arms around Jake and pulled him into a kiss. Jake smiled into the kiss. Damien tried to deepen it, but Jake pushed him away.
"Don't you have a paper to write?" Jake asked.
"Oh yeah," Damien said. He let go of Jake and walked back over to the table. He sat down.
Jake smiled and walked over to the couch. He had a while before he had another class, time for some TV. He was just glad that Damien wasn't mad and yelling at him. He was so understanding.
-Aftermath-
Logan and Carlos were sitting together in the living room. They were laying together, Logan was on his back with Carlos on his back lounging on him as they watched morning talk shows together. The kids had all gone to school and Logan called into work. Carlos had the next few weeks off. All the episodes for the first half of the season of Save Rock and Roll were recorded and needed to be edited and were set to air this coming January.
Logan and Carlos just wanted to have a day home together. Last night they had finally met Lucas, their other son. It had been a long time coming, and had fell nothing short of a miracle. They had been so happy that Miles was their son, and were eager to meet Lucas. It seemed like everything was falling into place.
"Where are Lilly and Miles?" Layla asked looking up at her dads. They had told her that Lucas was coming over. She had been excited when she found out she had not one but two brothers. She understood that Lucas wouldn't be living with them though.
"Miles had something he needed to do, I totally forgot that Lucas was coming over," Logan said honestly. Carlos looked at him.
"He wanted to apologize to Rion," Logan said. Carlos smiled and nodded his head. He didn't know Rion personally, but Logan did. Logan approved over her, despite her health issues.
"Well, they already know Lucas from school they said," Carlos said waving his hand. Logan nodded his head.
"So does Lucas look like Miles?" Layla asked confused.
"Well, thinks they look alike," Carlos said, "we haven't met him yet either mija," he reminded his daughter.
"Right, right," Layla said nodding her head. There was a knock at the door. Logan and Carlos both jumped up and made their way to the door.
They answered it and saw three people standing there. In front a medium height sixteen year old stood. He had dark raven hair, brown eyes and tan skin. Behind him stood two adults. One was a tall man with light peach skin blonde hair and dark blue eyes. Next to him stood a woman, she was about the same height as Lucas, her hair was bright red and she had light brown eyes.
They stood there a moment before Logan came to his sense. "Hello, come in," he said stepping aside pulling Carlos with him. Carlos just nodded his head.
"I'm Lucas," Lucas said slowly.
"We know, you look so much like Miles," Logan said looking Lucas up and down. It was still a bit much to take in.
"Miles is my brother right?" Lucas asked.
"Yeah, he's not here right now, but he should be home soon," Carlos said finding his voice.
"I'm Gerald King, and this is my wife Mary," the man said as he shut the door behind himself.
"It's nice to meet you," Logan said shaking his hand, "I'm Logan and this is my husband Carlos," he said placing an arm around the Latino with a smile. He still liked claiming the Latino in front of people like that. "Why don't we take this to the living room, we can talk there," he said. The Kings nodded their heads and followed him and Carlos to the living room where Layla was sitting.
"Is this him?" she asked looking up at Lucas. Logan nodded his head and smiled at his daughter.
"This is our younger daughter Layla," Logan said.
"Hi," Layla said jumping up to greet Lucas with a big smile on her face. "I'm Layla, when dad and papi told me I had a brother I was excited since I never really had one. Then the police said I had two and that was awesome. I've always kind of wanted a brother, now I have two, well one in a half," she said quickly. Lucas arched a brow at her. "Oh I totally forgot about your leg, I didn't mean it like that, I mean half since you wouldn't be living with us," she said quickly biting her lip.
"That's ok, I'm used to it," Lucas said softly, "it's nice to meet you Layla," he added with a smile.
Once everyone was seated they started talking. Lucas asked Carlos and Logan about themselves. He knew they used to be in the boy band Big Time Rush, thanks to his mother who was a huge fan, and the reason she hadn't really spoke much. Carlos and Logan were happy to answer any of Lucas' questions.
"I'm a doctor now, I work in diagnostics trying to diagnose people with strange symptoms, but right I'm I am working on a oncology study for an old professor of mine," Logan said.
"Oncology? That's cancer right?" Lucas asked slowly.
"Yeah," Logan said nodding his head.
"Papi is going to be on TV," Layla said excitedly. Carlos and Logan chuckled at their daughters eagerness.
"I'm an actor," Carlos said.
"Cool," Lucas said with a smile.
"Not to sound judgmental or anything, but what is your story of loosing Lucas, detective Vance didn't tell us," Mary said finding her voice finally.
Logan and Carlos told them all about Carlos getting pregnant a few months after they had Lilly. Carlos had gone into early labor and it couldn't be stopped. He had been given a c-section and hadn't even seen his baby at all. It was hours later they were told that he died. The two had mourned and then a detective approached them and told them of the going ons at the hospital which started a sixteen year search.
"So, you gave birth here in L.A. right?" Lucas asked slowly.
"Yeah, somehow he managed to end up in San Francisco," Gerald said.
"Sandra and Nathan Drake took the twins. Nathan thought they were his kids until he took a paternity test and found they weren't related to him at all. They lived in San Francisco and Nathan took Lucas and left with him. He wanted to get him away from Sandra. He tried to come back for Miles and do the same, but Sandra was gone. She came back here and hide in plain sight," Logan said.
"Yeah, I don't think she planned on Kyle and Miles becoming friends and Miles meeting us," Carlos said.
"Kyle?" Lucas asked slowly.
"Kyle Knight, Miles best friend since way before he lived with us," Logan said.
The six of them sat around talking for a bit. Logan and Carlos asked Lucas questions now. They were shocked that some of their interests were his interests. Lucas wanted to be a doctor and save lives and help handicapped people like himself. He also love adventures. Mary and Gerald shared stories of Lucas from when he was younger doing all sort of things he shouldn't.
Logan sighed and pulled Carlos tighter to himself. Carlos looked up at Logan with a smile.
"Are you glad we met him?" Carlos asked.
"Yeah, I mean he's happy, he adjusted to his life, and he looks so much like you and Miles," Logan.
"Like me?" Carlos asked shocked.
"The boys look more like you than me," Logan said nodding his head. Carlos thought it over and shrugged. Logan chuckled and pressed his face to the side of Carlos' head. "Layla seemed happy to meet him too," he said.
"Yeah, she was," Carlos nodded his head. Logan pressed a kiss to the side of Carlos' neck.
"Could life get any better than this?" Logan asked.
"I don't think so," Carlos said, "we've both got great jobs that we love, we've got four beautiful kids, three of them live with us and we're getting to know the other, what more could we ask for?" he asked.
"Nothing, I'm happy just having you and the kids around," Logan said hugging Carlos tight. Carlos smiled and leaned into Logan letting his eyes slip shut.
-Aftermath-
Cooper found himself outside, sitting under the bleachers, rather than at lunch. He had to admit, he was a little shocked to see Adam back in school. From what he had gathered Adam was in pretty bad shape after he left. Then again, Adam did plan on graduating in January, so he had to go to school now to keep his grades up.
Cooper shook his head, he couldn't let that throw him. When he had first seen Adam, everything came flooding back to him. The guilt, the anger, the hurt. It was all there and Cooper almost ran from the room. He saw the looks people were giving him too. He knew they all knew what happened with him and Adam now. Kyle made sure of that when he confronted him.
Kyle. He had no idea what he was talking about. Cooper wasn't so calm over this, he was just better at hiding it than Adam was. He didn't let anyone see him cry or get upset over his ruined relationship. He just…it wasn't easy, but he didn't need people talking about him behind his back. Everything had been fine until Kyle opened his stupid mouth.
Cooper sighed and hung his head. He didn't know what to do. If he apologized Adam now there was a chance he'd take him back, but Cooper would still feel guilty about kissing Jake. If he told Adam about kissing Jake he'd piss Adam off and destroy any chance of getting back together with the other brunette. He was torn over what to do. There was no way he could tell Adam about the kiss and not have Adam freak out.
"You look like you're about to throw up."
Cooper looked up and saw Leora standing a few feet away from him. She had had arms crossed over her chest and she was alone. Cooper was glad that Kyle was with her. He didn't want to argue again. He just wanted to get through this day without someone trying to talk to him about Adam.
"You here to yell at me too?" Cooper asked even though he knew she wasn't. Leora wasn't one for yelling much, unless she was really mad. She only really got mad at Kyle though.
"No," Leora said walking over to him. She sat down beside him. "I'm not like Kyle, who's been very moody lately," she said.
"I know you're not," Cooper said. Even though he and Adam were over and he wasn't living with the Knights anymore, he still saw Leora as a sister. He cared about her dearly, but this relationship wasn't going to last. She'd start to hate Cooper when she came to terms with the fact that he and Adam were over.
"I just don't get it, I mean I knew you guys were fighting more recently, but this isn't like you," Leora said.
"Isn't it? I mean look at who my dad is," Cooper said.
"You're not your dad Cooper, you love Miri, and you love Adam. I know you're hurting over this like he is," Leora said.
"Yeah, but…" Cooper started.
"No buts," Leora said, "you guys are so good together, what ever is bugging you whether it be the news about your dad or stressing over Miri and school, you can work it out," she said.
"I don't think we can," Cooper admitted. Cheating was not something you could just work out. It wasn't that simple and Leora didn't get it.
"Cooper, bottling things up isn't the best way to go about things. It'll just boil and boil until it boils over and makes a big mess," Leora said.
"And you're only fifteen?" Cooper asked looking at her. Leora chuckled and nodded her head. Cooper sighed, "look Leora, things are just a bit more complicated than you think. Besides no matter how good two people seem to be for one another, some times things just don't work out," he sighed.
"What about Miri?" Leora asked, "are you just going to leave her with Adam?" she asked her anger flaring.
"I don't know, I mean…I just…" Cooper sighed looking away from the young blonde.
"What has got you so…what is bothering you? I know something is wrong, if you tell me maybe I can help," Leora offered.
"I can't tell you, and you wouldn't be able to help me anyways," Cooper said shaking his head. She'd really hate him if she knew.
"Come on Cooper," Leora urged.
"Leora don't, there's nothing left to fix, Adam and I are done. The sooner you accept that, the sooner you can hate me like Kyle does," he said.
"I'm not stupid Cooper, I can tell something is bothering you," Leora said.
"You wouldn't understand," Cooper said his annoyance growing. She was pushing and he knew she wouldn't like what she heard.
"Try me," Leora said challengingly.
"Cheating isn't something you can fix Leora," Cooper snapped without thinking.
"Adam didn't cheat, didn't he tell you that?" Leora asked confused.
"He told me what happened," Cooper said nodding his head.
"Then what are you…oh," Leora said slowly as it dawned on her. She looked over at Cooper with wide eyes.
"I didn't mean to, I just happened…I was upset and Jake-" Cooper started. He eyes went wide as he realized he had said Jake's name. He hadn't been intending to at all.
"Jake?" Leora asked jumping up. She started to back away from Cooper shocked. Cooper jumped up.
"Leora wait," Cooper said as she turned to leave. Cooper grabbed her arm. On instinct Leora's hand collided with Cooper's face as she slapped him. Cooper let go of her and let his head hang. "Don't tell Adam, I don't want him mad at Jake. You can tell him I cheated, but don't tell him it was Jake. I don't think he'd be able to handle that," he said his hand coming to rub his nose which was still tender from being broken.
"Oh," Leora said her hands coming to cover his mouth, "your nose, I'm sorry I didn't mean to…I just was shocked," she said.
"Look it's not what you think, I went to Jake to talk and blow off some steam. He knows how Adam is," Cooper said.
"Where does the cheating come in?" Leora asked.
"I don't even know if it was really cheating, I mean all it was, was a kiss," Cooper said looking at his feet. "We were talking about Adam and…I wasn't thinking…he just looks so much like Adam…it doesn't excuse what I did though," he said.
"Dad always said if he didn't know any better he'd think Jake and Adam were twins sometimes," Leora said softly.
"What?" Cooper asked his head snapping up to look at the blonde teen before him. She wasn't mad, but she wasn't happy either. Her look wasn't judgmental either. She seemed to be thinking something over.
"I don't like what you did, but I kind of understand," Leora said softly.
"What do you mean?" Cooper asked.
"I get it, you turned to Jake for comfort since he could get mad at Adam too. He knows how Adam is, they used to fight all the time and beat one another up. You were upset and got carried away, but that…it wasn't the right thing to do," Leora said.
"I know, but how do I tell Adam without him getting mad at me? How do I tell Adam I kissed his brother while he was at home worrying about me with our daughter?" Cooper asked as he sat down once again. He buried his face in his hands, being careful of his nose. Leora sat down and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Look you were right, not all loves last forever, you at least owe Adam the truth," She said softly.
"I can't just tell him though, he'll probably go confront Jake and inadvertently tell Damien and get them fighting. I…don't want to ruin two relationships," Cooper said lifting his head to look at Leora. "I've caused enough hurt, don't make me hurt Jake too. It was just a kiss and it meant nothing. I kissed him and he had nothing to do with it," he said.
Leora sighed and thought things over. Cooper just shook his head. He knew she wanted to tell the truth and get everything out in the open. She tapped her chin as she thought.
"If you really want Adam to know tell him, if you want to hurt Jake tell him it was Jake, but I…I've done enough damage," Cooper said standing up. He looked down at her. "I love Adam, I always will, but I'm just saving him from the extra heartache, and Jake from heart break. Damien is possessive and would never listen. Adam and I are already broken up, why make things worse?" he asked. He started back for the school building leaving Leora behind. She ran after him.
"You can't do that to me," Leora snapped.
"Do what?" Cooper asked as he crossed the parking lot with her right behind him.
"Guilt trip me," Leora said, "lying is never the answer," she said.
"Leora?"
Cooper and Leora both turned and saw Kyle, Miles, Lilly, Adam, and Mina all standing near Lilly's car. They had all obviously gone off campus for lunch and just returned.
"What are you doing?" Kyle asked looking at his sister confused. Adam had his eyes on Cooper. Cooper just stood his ground and kept his eyes on Kyle. He was a firecracker waiting to go off. His mind was yelling for him to run and get away from the explosive blonde, but he couldn't get his legs to move.
"We were just talking," Leora said.
"No we weren't, we were done talking," Cooper said looking at Adam who was biting his lip. He was still looking at Cooper.
Cooper knew that look, he was fighting back tears. Cooper knew he probably looked no better. Being so close to Adam, but not being able to talk to him hurt. Anything Cooper would try to say would be intercepted by Kyle, who had become protective of Adam in the last few days. Mina placed a hand on Adam's shoulder and Cooper felt a spark of jealousy at that gesture. He fought it back turned to Leora. "As I have said Leora, you can do what you want, I am not going to make things worse," Cooper simply.
"That is so unfair," Leora said shaking her head.
"Now if you'll excuse me the bell is about to ring and I have a class to get to," Cooper said turning around. He started for the school building once more. He didn't miss the hurt look in Adam's eyes as he turned though.
"What the hell is your problem?" Kyle asked. Cooper turned around.
"As I have said before Kyle this is none of your business. What happened is between me and Adam, not you, and not Leora. It's done it's over with, now please just leave me alone," Cooper said letting his annoyance at the young blonde show.
"Well it involves me now," Leora muttered.
"Do what you want Leora, you always do," Cooper said looking at her. She just bit her lip and looked anywhere but at him and Adam. He knew she was thinking over everything. She'd weigh everything before she talked to Adam.
"I don't get how you can be such a dick after everything we did for you," Kyle said stalking up to Copper anger radiating off him. Cooper stood his ground. He wasn't going to be scared of Kyle, no matter how much he grew and looked down at Cooper.
"Look Kyle you don't understand, this has nothing to do with you," Cooper said getting more annoyed by the second. He wished Kyle would just stop bugging him. It had nothing to do with him.
"Kyle just stop," Leora said stepping up to Kyle.
"What so you can talk to him and I can't?" Kyle asked annoyed.
"You're not talking, you're yelling," Leora snapped at her brother.
"Are you really taking his side?" Kyle asked staring at his sister.
"I am not taking sides, I just..." Leora said looking at Cooper.
Cooper had his eyes on Adam. He hadn't said a word he was just letting this all happen. Mina was standing beside Adam, her was on his shoulder. Cooper wanted to go over and take Adam in his arms and tell him everything was going to be ok. He couldn't though, not with Kyle here. Kyle would surely hit him then.
"Oh my god, Leora don't be so naïve, whatever he said he's just trying to cover his ass," Kyle said.
"Trust me he's not," Leora said shaking her head. If Cooper had been trying to cover his ass he wouldn't have told Leora about the kiss. He wouldn't have even talked to her.
"Seriously Kyle just drop it, this really has nothing to do with you," Cooper tried again, he was getting tired of Kyle yelling at him. He didn't understand why Kyle was attacking him. Sure he had hurt Adam, but he was doing what Adam should be doing. Adam should be yelling at him and getting in his face, not Kyle.
"Kyle please, just stop this isn't going to solve anything," Leora said.
"I really don't understand how he can be such an ass over this and you're defending him," Kyle said shaking his head at Leora.
"You don't know how I feel or what I am thinking," Cooper snapped stepping up to Kyle. "You think you know, but you don't so just let it go. This has nothing to do with you," he said.
"Adam is my brother and you hurt him and you don't even care," Kyle said glaring at Cooper.
"You don't know what I feel," Cooper said angrily. Cooper grit his teeth in annoyance. He wished Adam would call Kyle off, but he wouldn't. Adam was too busy staring at him to think about anything else.
"If you cared, then maybe you'd at least come see your daughter," Kyle spat.
"Fine, maybe I don't care, maybe you're right I'm just some heartless asshole, well it's better than being a brat who thinks he knows everything when he clearly doesn't," Cooper shot back. Kyle's jaw twitched and before Cooper could react Kyle's fist collided with his jaw. Cooper stumbled backward his hands flew to his jaw.
"Kyle!"
That seemed to shock Adam out of his daze. Adam pushed past Kyle and move to Cooper. Cooper turned away from him though. His jaw stung and his nose was still hurting from when Leora slapped him. He didn't want to talk to Adam and get hit again.
"Cooper," Adam said softly.
"Don't," Cooper said shaking his head. He looked over his shoulder at Adam. He saw that Kyle was gone and so was Lilly. She had probably dragged him off again to calm him down. Leora was still standing there though.
"Cooper please," Adam said softly.
"No, there's nothing to say Adam, I stand by what I said before. I can't keep doing this," Cooper said turning away from Adam once more. He didn't want to see the hurt look on his face. It'd would break his resolve. Adam was better off without him in his life. Cooper was a screw up and Adam deserved better.
"Cooper please, there has to be something we can do," Adam pleaded.
"No, I don't think there is," Cooper said.
"Is this because of what happened with Jake?" Adam asked. Cooper's eyes went wide as he whipped around to face Adam. "Jake is my brother and we do talk you know, he told me everything," he said.
"You deserve someone better than me," Cooper said clenching his teeth shut to fight the tears.
"There is no one better than you, we can get past this," Adam said stepping closer to Cooper.
"No, I…you deserve someone who can treat you right," Cooper insisted shaking his head. This was for Adam's own good. If he kissed Jake, what was to stop Cooper from cheating the next time he got mad at Adam.
"You treat me right," Adam said.
"If I did, I wouldn't have…I'm no good for you Adam," Cooper said shaking his head. He turned away from him. This was for the best really, Cooper wasn't good for Adam. Adam would see that sooner or later. He bit his lip as he walked away not daring to look back at Adam.
-Aftermath-
Lilly led Kyle to the football field and pulled him under the bleachers. He was still fuming. He had punched Cooper. He had had it coming and Lilly just needed to get Kyle out of there.
"What the hell, Lil," Kyle asked.
"You punched him," Lilly said shaking her head. "Yeah, he's a jerk but you could get in trouble," she said.
"So he deserved it, he was talking down to me," Kyle said through clenched teeth. He looked down at the ground waiting for her to start in on him like she had last time.
"Beside, seeing you angry like that was kind of a turn on and I wanted to get you alone," Lilly said her cheeks flushing red. Kyle's head snapped up to look at Lilly.
"What?" Kyle asked.
"You heard me," Lilly said walking over to Kyle. "It was a turn on, seeing you angry like that," she said.
"Really now?" Kyle asked. He stepped closer to her. His hands found her waist. He pulled her close and Lilly let a small 'eep' past her lips. She nodded her head. Kyle smirked and leaned down and connected their lips in a kiss.
Lilly's hands came up to Kyle's neck. She stood on her toes so he wasn't leaning down too far, and moved her lips with his. Lilly held Kyle in place and parted her lips when his tongue swiped at her lips. Soon they were full on making out.
Lilly was sure things would've progressed it she hadn't heard the bell ring. She came to her senses. Kyle allowed her to break the kiss. He rested his forehead on hers.
"We have to get to class," Lilly said.
"I know, just give me a minute," Kyle said, his eyes closed as he tried to regulate his breathing a bit. They stood there a moment before Kyle stood up straight. He held his hand out to Lilly. She smiled and took it. Together they headed inside.
-Aftermath-
Jake yawned as he crawled into bed where Damien was already laying down. Jake tried not to wake him, but it was useless. Damien lifted his arm for Jake. Jake smiled sheepishly as Damien looked at him sleepily. Jake settled against Damien's side and Damien place his arm around him.
"I didn't mean to wake you," Jake said.
"S'okay, where were you?" Damien asked sleepily.
"Out with some friends, we were working on…a project," Jake said with a smile.
"Those photography friends of yours?" Damien asked.
"Yeah, lost track of time, sorry," Jake said as he rested his head on Damien's chest.
"It's ok Jake, I'm not clingy, I was jut curious," Damien said. Jake chuckled and nodded his head. He closed his eyes and expected Damien to do the same. "Jake, thanks for being honest with me earlier," Damien said softly.
"Yeah, I figured the truth was the best option," Jake replied knowing Damien was talking about the kiss.
"It always is," Damien replied pulling Jake closer to him.
"You know, I was surprised by you're reaction earlier, I thought you'd be mad and storm out," Jake admitted.
"Never, I love you too much," Damien said pressing a kiss to the side of Jake's head.
"Adam told you didn't he?" Jake asked sitting up.
"He might've mentioned it," Damien said slowly, "I was madder then, but I thought about it and put myself in Cooper's shoes. It I were upset and venting to Adam and I he tried to comfort me, I might mistake him for you. I mean you two look almost exactly alike expect for your eyes," he said softly.
"You ass," Jake said glaring at Damien.
"I figured I'd give you a week and see if you told me on your own, if you did then you did have a conscious and I had nothing to worry about," Damien said.
"You were testing me?" Jake asked.
"Yep, and you passed with flying colors, you were honest with me about what happened. You told me even though I might get upset and leave. That takes guts and shows how honest you are Jake," Damien said sitting up, "I know it meant nothing on your part Jake. It was all Cooper, and well he's…he's upset right now and I understand," he said.
"Wow, you're getting better at not getting mad over every small thing," Jake said smiling at Damien.
"Yeah, well you've helped a lot," Damien said.
"Can we go to sleep now, I'm tired," Jake said with a yawn. Damien chuckle and nodded his head.
"I'd like to point out I was sleeping before you interrupted me," Damien said as he laid down. He lifted his arm for Jake to lay down next to him again. Jake just shook his head and laid down with his head on Damien's chest.
Boom another chapter, and it's a long one XD I am just on fire with this. I just love this fic so much. It is probably my favorite fic to write right behind Camp Wonky Triligoy. Haha, you can tell which fics are my favs by how many in that universe I write! Three Wonky Donkey, Three Kames Mpreg fics(even if there is no pregnancy in this one)! I just can't not write in this fic, it's an addiction. I am working on my other fics but they are coming along slowly right now compared to Aftermath.
So, Jake told Adam about the kiss and Adam told Damien. Damien tested Jake and he passed! WHoo go Jake. He's honest. Kyle and Leora hit Cooper. Carlos and Logan are happy with thier lives, and they deserve it after everything they've been through. Cooper thinks he's no good for Adam, is he right? Will Adam be able to change his mind? How does Adam really feel about Cooper kissing Jake? Lilly likes Kyle when he's mad, hehe i thought that was a bit comic relief from all the drama.
Always
