Readers: there is a hateful troll who has threatened to "report" this story and have it removed from fanfiction dot net. As such, my contingency plan in case it does get removed is to migrate to Archive of Our Own (at ao3 dot org), which has an open-door policy regarding sexually explicit material. I SHOULD be grandfathered in on Fanfiction dot net since this story has been here since long before their new policies, but I just don't know - I'm not sure if they're turning a blind eye to everything on the whole site labeled "M", turning a blind eye to the massive collection of Fifty Shades fics, or if they've since eased the policy. If this disappears, I've put the web address in this "Chapter" title so you should have it in your email if you're a subscriber.
Now...
Dear Troll(s):
Listen, I tried to be nice. The gloves are coming off.
I don't understand why you have to be nasty and attack me. I am not a bad person despite what this FICTIONAL STORY I WROTE might suggest to you, you bigot. The only people who describe gay and lesbian sex as "disgusting" (but not the heterosexual kind one might find in Fifty Shades of Grey, in which the author speaks of one character pulling a bloody tampon out of another) are bigots. A BIGOT is someone who cannot accept anything beyond themselves and those exactly like themselves as being legitimate in this world. In this use, OED defines it as "a fanatical adherent or believer; a person characterized by obstinate, intolerant, or strongly partisan beliefs."
THAT'S YOU, TROLL.
I try to be nice to my readers who actually WANT to read this story. In the last 24 hours, something like 1200 people have read the new chapters. So if you manage to get the story removed, congrats. You've removed something a number of people care about and you get to feel super great acting like a coward. You don't even have the decency to PM me so that I can reply back to you personally. No. Instead, you leave a ton of comments as a guest. After each chapter. Within a day of me posting them. Which means you READ them.
And your "favorite fictional couple"? I am the first to admit that E L James is not a Great Author. To be fair, her books are marginally better written than Twilight, on which they were based, from which many said she ruined THEIR favorite fictional couple... But of ALL the fictional couples ever written, I can't see Christian and Ana being anyone's favorite. Especially if they are then going to SUBSCRIBE to FANFICTIONS they find "absolutely disgusting" because of the content. And when I warn readers again and again about the content... JUST so you can write ANONYMOUS hateful comments insulting me and threatening me and reporting the freaking story.
I wrote a fanfiction about what is essentially a vaguely hardcore porno romance.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it enough to write two extensive fanfictions about the series... I'm invested. But I'm not going to pretend it's on par with Memoirs of a Geisha or Twelfth Night or Pride and Prejudice (most people's "favorite fictional couple" comes from this book I would venture) or even The Story of O (now that's a book! Anyone who hasn't read it, pick up a copy). It's written in the present tense for god's sake!
If you're avidly reading all this "sick, disgusting stuff", I say you live in a glass house, so don't go throwing stones at mine.
Please, I want to know your username so I can PM you. Please. Pretty please.
Either that or UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THIS STORY AND LEAVE US ALL THE HELL ALONE.
Thank you,
-K
