Ciel is getting more confusing as time passes. What is he thinking? Maybe we will find out soon. Maybe not, but things will happen! Review and enjoy!
I never knew that getting off a bus could be so awkward. I mean, if there were an award for it, this moment would win, easily. See, a normal person would apologize or say thank you for sleeping on someone's shoulder. A normal person would wait for that someone to get up, and then wait to get off the bus. A normal person would, but not Ciel. No, not him.
As soon as the bus comes to a halt, and the driver turns off the engine, Ciel snaps awake. He notices our position, and he flings himself to the window, hitting his head. I stifle a laugh and try to ask him if he is okay, but he lets out some gibberish and crawls over my lap and falls to the floor. I can't even offer him a hand because he jumps up, looks around wildly and runs off the bus. He then comes back, takes his bag, tells everyone to meet him in the main lobby, and without a glance to me, rushes off.
"What was that about?"
"Honestly, Bard, I have no idea," I admit with exasperation. He shrugs and begins to walk away, but I catch his arm. "Come here for a second. I have to tell you something."
I scoot over, and he sits beside me. "What? You're not pregnant, are you?" I don't smile. He turns serious. "Okay, I'm listening."
"Good. We need to get in a fight."
"Why?"
"Because I need to have an excuse as to why I can't sleep with you." He is about to protest. "Sleep in the same room. Geez, Bard, I know I'm gay, but I'm not blind." He lifts his fist. "Yes, that is the anger I need! But save it until we make it to the lobby, okay?"
"You are a dick, you know that?" He says as he grabs his things and heads to the hotel.
"At least, I am a big dick," I joke, but really, I know I am packing heat. I go after him, and when we enter the building, my eyes find Ciel being surrounded by the team. "Bard, you ready?" He nods, and a little devious smile spreads on his lips because though he thinks my plan is stupid, he could never pass on a good tussle.
"What the fuck, man!" Bard drops his things and pushes me. I stumble back, and when I press my lips together, it is more to stop a grin than to express anger. Everyone looks at us.
"You are making a scene, asshole! Calm your shit!" I yell and shove him back. Then soon we are in a grappling on the floor, and I let him straddle me. Not in that way because like I mentioned before, my vision works just fine. His closed hand comes down, and I close my eyes for effect.
"Stop!" Ciel orders, but Bard had already bumped my face. I throw my head to the side as Agni, my doubles partner, pulls him off me. Pluto, Bard's partner, helps me up, and I rub my uninjured jaw. I glare at my best friend as he makes a show of trying to break loose from Agni's grip. "Take him to his room." Ciel dictates to the two. "You" he points at me, "follow me." I do.
He is seething by the time we reach him room. He lets me in first and then slams the door shut. I have never seen him this mad before, but with the way his eyes darken, I am relieved. Maybe this will be the last time I will try this kind of stunt because I would rather have a smile than this disapproving frown.
"Sebastian, I expected better from you. You are the captain of this team! If you can't behave, what about the others? You set an example for everybody else! And what were you and Bard fighting about? You guys never get physical." Huh? I didn't think of a reason. Opps.
"Hmm, why do you think we fought?" Maybe he will make up some explanation, and I can just agree with him.
"I don't know! But you two better make it right! These matches are important for the season, and if the principal hears about this incident, we can say goodbye to overnighters. You understand?" He sighs, walks over to his bed, and collapses. "Is this about Elizabeth?"
"What?" How does his mind work? Why would he bring up her? It would be a million times easier if I could read his thoughts, but then I might hear something I don't like, and I would get mad at him for no reason, and our relationship would suffer. But what relationship, really? I don't think-
"…next to him?" I realize that my inner babbling made me miss what he was saying. I debate if I should ask him to repeat himself, but he is a lot calmer than he was a minute ago.
"Can you reword that?" I use a cute voice, and his head lifts from the bed to give me an incredulous look, conveying to me that he probably thinks I'm crazy. Which is valid.
"Okay. Are you jealous of him because Elizabeth decided to sit next to him on the ride over here?" I can't use this as a reason. If I do, it would seem as if I like her, and this weekend, I need him to know that I only have eyes for him. I can't have him doubting my feelings. He can't think that I am just messing around with him.
"No. That's not why. I, umm." My brain gives me nothing to work with. "It's kind of personal. It's not my secret to tell," I go on. He accepts my response reluctantly. "But I don't think I can be roommates with him. Not when we are at each other's throats."
"Well, I guess you are right. You can sleep with Agni." Son of a bitch! Didn't think he would actually move me with someone else! That was not part of the plan, and my plan is full proof.
"I would, but what about his roommate?"
"Pluto will be with Bard." I almost start crying in frustration. Why does he have to be a problem solver?
"That won't work," I state quickly. "I am the only one Bard can stand and sleep with. He has this weird condition. That is why we always pair up," I lie. I hope that Ciel does not question Bard about any of this.
He sits up. His eyebrow disappears into his fringe. "Condition? No one told me." I shrug. He thinks for a minute, and his hand moves up to rub his neck. His cheeks gain color. "If there is no other way, you can sleep in here." I hold back a cheer, but when I see that there is only one bed, I let out a squeal. "What was that?"
"Hic" His phone rings, and he goes into the bathroom to answer it. "Ups. It was hiccups," I say to myself.
Five seconds. That is how long I last until my ear is pressed against the door, trying to overhear his conversation with whoever he is talking to. I can only hear a few words and broken phrases.
"Don't…Me…You…Cheat…Talk at home, okay? Bye," His voice gets clearer, and I leap forward, landing on the bed. I try to act casual as he reappears in the room.
"Who was that?" I already know who it is. If he said home, it was definitely Doll, but I want to know what he was talking about.
He stares at me, looks at his phone, then back at me again. He slips it into his pocket. "No one." I can't even make a snarky comment because he chooses to lay next to me. He clasps my hand with his own, locking eyes with me, and whispers, "No one you need to worry about."
