Chapter 28

Rosie waited in the shadows opposite Midtown High scanning the teenagers as they rushed out egger to get away from school. She kept scanning the crowd until she saw who she was looking for and there he was Peter Parker. Grinning she waited until he said goodbye to the boy and girl he was walking out with. After they parted ways Rosie stuck her hands in her pockets and followed Peter until they were in an alley far away from the school. Half way down the alley Rosie sped up until she was right behind him.

"I know your secret… Spider-Man," she hissed in a low voice. She watched as Peter froze dead in his tracks. The Stark Smirk grew on her face as she watched he slowly down a mixture of shock and fear written on her face. As soon as she saw his face she broke into a laughing fit. Clutching her stomach she doubled over leaning against the wall in an effort to stay standing.

"ROSIE?!" Peter cried as soon as he laid eyes on her. Forcing herself to stop laughing she stood up properly whilst whipping away the tears streaming down her face. Nodding slowly Rosie struggled to regain her compositor whilst Peter carried on staring at her just as shocked. When he started stuttering about how she found out Rosie finally regained enough of her compositor to speak. Hand over her heart she spoke still breathing heavily.

"Oh come one Spidey, did you really think I wouldn't figure it out eventually? I mean heeello," she sung holding her arms out to the side, "Spy being trained by Black Widow!" Peter just rolled his eyes in reply.

"Yeah… I should have seen this coming... but I didn't expect so soon," Peter rubbed the back of his neck. Rosie laughed before winking at him and holding out her hand to Peter who just stared at her confused. Rolling her eyes Rosie shoved her hand out further towards.

"It's a pleasure to properly met you Peter and I really hope you're not pissed I found out about your true identity," Rosie smiled nervously. Peter laughed before shaking her hand.

"I'm not mad; I was waiting for you to find out eventually. Have you got somewhere to be or do you wanna go for a walk and learn more about me?" Peter smirked. Rosie just rolled her eyes before motion for Peter to lead on.

By the time they reached Times Square Peter had told her everything from his parents leaving him to his Uncle Ben to how he got his powers and to his bullying problem with Flash Thompson. Rosie hardly said a word the whole time he was speaking wanting to learn as much about her new but not new friend as she could. They were fighting their way through the crowd in Times Square when Rosie's com piece went off. Jumping she dragged Peter to the side of the pavement and out of the way so she could answer the call.

"Agent Stark speaking," she muttered.

"Stark I need you at the New York base now, something very important has come that I need people I can trust on," Fury's voice came through the com. Furrowing her eyebrows together Rosie shot a look at Peter telling him it was serious.

"Right, I'll be right there," Rosie nodded. Switching off her com link she looked to Peter who was waiting for an answer.

"Fancy giving me a lift to the New York base, it's urgent and what's quicker than traveling by web, by the time my suit gets here I recon we'll be just about there," Rosie smiled.

"Fine with me, quick costume change in an alley?" he raised an eyebrow. Rosie nodded before moving her top slightly to show her S.H.I.E.L.D. suit underneath. Peter smiled before they raced off to find a quiet alley.

Ten minutes later Rosie was running through the base towards the research bay where Fury was reported to be. Pushing her way through the Agents Rosie eventually fell into one of the research rooms which was abuzz with excited chatter. Looking around the room she spotted Fury, Coulson and Hill standing in front of a pod with a glass door. Knitting her eyebrows together Rosie ran over to them to see there was a person in the pod, a woman. The woman was holding her throat with one hand and her other was pressed against the glass. Standing beside Hill Rosie peered at the woman studying her carefully.

"So who's the dead chick trying to strangle herself?" Rosie raised an eyebrow. Instead of a spoken reply a file was handed to her which she started to skim through. Skimming through the files she managed to pick out a couple of import parts like she went MIA presumed dead, she had the super solider serum, she was born in London to a French Mother and German Father. Also that she worked as a nurse before she was recruited to be a spy by Peggy Carter. Rosie couldn't help but chuckle quietly, whoever this was knew Sharon Carter's Aunt, what a small very weird world. Spotting the name of the woman she tried not to laugh at herself for not reading that part first.

"Josephine Heaton… should I know this name?" Rosie looked the adults. Hill just shook her head trying not to laugh as Coulson continued to gawk at the woman in the pod. Once Rosie saw her handler gawking at the woman she couldn't help but smile, what had gotten into him?

"First of all she's very much alive. You shouldn't know that name, we didn't either until we ran her through our files, very old files paper old files to find her," Hill started. At this Rosie let out a low whistle. If they found this women's file in boring old paper she didn't want to start guessing how old she was, she might even be as old as Cap!

"Have you heard of America's Saviour?" Hill asked looking at Rosie. Rosie thought for a minute before nodding her head slowly. She remembered hearing stories about her during History lessons back in Scotland when they were learning about WWII.

"Yeah she fought with-" that's when realisation hit her and Rosie's mouth dropped, "No WAY!" Hill nodded. Rosie's hand flew to her mouth she was completely on shock. Unable to believe what was happening Rosie just continued to stare at America's Savior. This woman was one of her role models, after all she'd helped to take down Hydra in WWII (even if that didn't last) a time when women were frowned upon for doing what she did.

"We found her." Rosie smiled widely at Hill's comment not bothering to slag her off for the obvious. Rosie couldn't stop smiling, they'd found her even though she was meant to be dead they did the impossible.

"Who found her?" Rosie asked looking to Hill.

"Iron Man, Hawkeye and Black Widow," Hill looked back to the junior Agent. Rosie just shook her head, so that's what they were doing in the Alps at least that made sense now. Still smiling Rosie looked back at America's Saviour, this was unbelievable. This woman fought with Cap, Steve wasn't going to believe this when they told him! That's when I thought hit her that she just had to mention.

"If I'm freaking out about this then Coulson must be going mental!" Rosie smiled.

"He's almost as bad as when we found Cap," Hill smiled. Rosie looked over to Hill the pair sharing a knowing smile before breaking out into a rare moment of shared laughter.

I did tell you she was coming did I not? So those of you who read The Captain and the Spy will know all about Josephine (who I will be calling Jo) if you didn't you'll just have to wait and find out more about her. As always R&R!
