In-between Episode 03
~ Goodwill that Shall Be Trusted for Now ~
"What's a problem son? So you can't sleep?"
"Then let this ol' grandpa tell you a story, okay? Grandpa's story is long and boring, so you can sleep nicely soon enough…"
The young boy nodded back while tentatively staring at his old grandfather.
"Alright, grandpa will tell you a story about a Brotherhood of Light."
Brotherhood of Light…?" the young boy asked.
"Ah, yes, that's what it was called, but there is not much difference to what it does now…after the Ascension of Our Lords prior to Break The World. We were helping others like what kids like you are doing now. Basically, we were a Christian Paladin or magic group that followed orders from both Roman Catholic Church and Anglican Church, and after we understand the situation we would face, we use our magic and combat skill to settle it…it was that kind of an organization."
"There were a lot of people relying on us in the past. I'm not bluffing; there were many people within the country who were looking for us. Afterwards, as we had too many people relying on us, we couldn't even stop at a single place. We, grandpas together with the founder of our Order spent quite a few years slowly walking through the whole frozen tundra of Northern Plain just to live."
"After all, well, this thing called problems and it can be happening anywhere."
"Though I don't know whether it's because it's troublesome or because we can't help but interfere."
"So grandpas fought against the other guardian of lights in order to save them…?" the boy asked with slightly confused look shown on his face.
"No, no, no. I'll explain to you first, even though Brotherhood of Light usually is all made up of good people, sometimes there are still bad people among them as well that manage to join in and even holding very influential ranks within the said Order itself. It was when those bad people wanted to turn Brotherhood of Light as one part of him. Thus, the grandpas were forced to run away from those bad people and their battle groups that were pursuing us…"
"Who are those bad people's names…? What would happen if grandpa got caught…?" the young boy innocently asked.
"I can't tell a kid like you all of that. Even if it's twisted, we're still a hidden part of this world's darkest history. Though it's easy for me to say this, they won't even let children off. This isn't something you'd normally hear son…"
"Anyway, we were being pursued by our very own Brotherhood of Light's comrade in arms. We had monsters as our opponents, like what banshees, valkyries, werewolf and vampires, and the likes, so how can we grandpas who were supposed to be running away face another enemies from within head on? We were completely outmatched."
"Therefore, we grandpas decided to leave. Luckily, they were the Brotherhood of Light, and so in other words, it means that we only needed to run away from their realm after all. It's terrifying to wish for it at first, however no matter what, any human would do his or her utmost to grab onto this little ray of hope after all."
"However, our self-imposed exodus were soon surrounded by -50 degree Celsius of human hell. It was a tough time. How should I say it, it was no longer a world that could be described through physical pain. Our feet were starting to sink, and we continued to walk on. There were people as old as grandpa and kids that were younger than you, everyone was the same. At that time, you were still in your mother's womb, and I believe it was your mother Ada that inherit you with her shapeshifting ability similar to what your uncle Cornell had been possessing and becoming the very foundation of his fighting prowess."
"Under this situation, our pursuers should have stopped from pursuing us and act carefully since this no man land happens to be within the realm of profound darkness, beyond from what Brotherhood of Light could reach, right…?"
"Unfortunately, they were happen to be too persistent to give up that easily. They decided to hire professional soldiers or mercenaries that were specially trained to move along in this eternal arctic terrain. They were like robots that were moving around in a rhythmic manner and they would never stop until all of us were finally annihilated."
"Not only they were top-notch soldiers or mercenaries, their weapons were also top notch as well. Since they had these modern state-of-art weapons supplied to them by COG and World Liberation Front from another possible future time axis, and just by looking over such fact…the differences between those professional soldiers and battle-scarred Brotherhood of Light's deserters like grandpas was apparent by first glance after all…"
"We could see the border in the snowstorm, but everyone knew that our pursuers would catch up to us before we could reach there. These professional soldiers known as Ghosts would never stop until we all annihilated and their leader Elias Walker is there to ensure such outcome to be realized. It was right in front of us, and we couldn't reach out and grab it, but after looking back to see our pursuers, we didn't have any other thought except to give up. Compared to working hard in a futile way, it's better to give up easily. However, your mother Ada and your uncle Cornell snapped us out from our despair. We just couldn't do it; the border that represented our hope was there, so how could we give up there…?"
"Hmmm?" muttered the young boy before he asked his grandpa a question.
"Then what happened next…?" innocently he asked.
"Of course we escaped silly boy. Otherwise, how could you be born? Grandpa couldn't possibly be here telling this story to you. You're saying that we did something awesome to fight those well-trained merciless soldiers known as Ghosts by ourselves?"
"Wooow! That's cool! Really? Really?" with excitement the young boy asked his grandfather to conclude his story.
"Seems like you don't understand how we escaped from those elite Ghosts mercenaries hired by Brotherhood of Light. Well, it's simple…"
"Those men appeared in front of us grandpas and save us…"
"Those men were William Orville the Saint and Kenzaki Kazuma the Indigo Warrior or to be more specific well famously known as Masked Rider Blade."
