ravenclawprincess238- Well I hope you stay on them and that it doesn't turn out boring, that would be a tragedy.
Harry's point of view
Flying was something that I was looking forward to and when I found out we started flying lessons this week I couldn't be more excited. Till I saw who we were flying with the Slytherins up till now I only had to deal with them, in specific Malfoy, when we had double potions. But now, Draco my new Dudley, was going to be in flying lessons with me to, and I had no doubt he'd laugh and make fun of my lack of skills.
Malfoy certainly did talk about flying a lot. He complained loudly about first years never getting on the house Quidditch teams and told long, boastful stories that always seemed to end with him narrowly escaping Muggles in helicopters. He wasn't the only one, though: the way Seamus Finnigan told it, he'd spent most of his childhood zooming around the countryside on his broomstick. Even Ron would tell anyone who'd listen about the time he'd almost hit a hang glider on Charlie's old broom. Everyone from wizarding families talked about Quidditch constantly. Ron had already had a big argument with Dean Thomas, who shared their dormitory, about soccer. Ron couldn't see what was exciting about a game with only one ball where no one was allowed to fly. I'd caught Ron prodding Dean's poster of West Ham soccer team, trying to make the players move.
"Flying Hu, should be interesting," Fira said looking over my shoulder. Thinking back, I realized this was the first time I had actually heard Fira actually mention flying. Sure she had nodded and acted interested whenever someone started telling her their stories. She would even make comments, and questions, in all the right places, but she did that when Neville started talking about herbology.
"Fira," I asked as she steared Ron and me away from the notice and down towards the great hall. "Have you ever flown before?" My question caught Ron's attention and now we were both waiting for the answer something we seemed to be doing a lot off lately.
"Ya." She said simply as we stepped through the fat lady.
"Ya, as in once or twice, or ya as in I do it every week and am as amazing as it as I are at everything else, but let me just laugh when you say that and pretend I'm stupid like I do in class." Ron said trying to mimic Fira's voice but failing miserably.
"I am not, good at everything." Fira said a slight frown creasing her face.
"Just answer the question please, miss." I said mimicking Professor Binns when Fira decided to get cheeky with him to make the class more interesting.
"Well Professor, to answer your question yes I have ridden a broom, but does it really matter how often I fly, or as the case may be used to fly. Because, you never know, I might just be like Neville and be horrible with coordination on a broom."
"You're seriously not going to tell us?" Ron asked.
"Well I might but, not today. And it's not like it would matter if what you say is true, which for the record it's not, would I even fly amazingly if I could?"
She said causing both Ron and I to cease our prodding for a moment to think it over.
Sapphire's point of view
Finally they shut up, it's not that I don't love them but I know what will happen if I admit I know how to ride well they'll drill me with questions and then they'll go off on their own ridiculous stories and I'll nod and act like I'm interested but I am sick of hearing about flying when I've been forbidden to fly again till summer. Something about people seeing and not wanting me to be tempted. Or something else I kind of spaced it after they said I was grounded from my broom for a year.
Hermione Granger was nervous about flying, this was something you couldn't learn by heart out of a book - not that she hadn't tried. At breakfast on Thursday she bored everybody she could with all stupid with flying tips she'd gotten out of a library book called Quidditch Through the Ages. Neville was hanging on to her every word, desperate for anything that might help him hang on to his broomstick later, but everybody else was very pleased when Hermione's lecture was interrupted by the arrival of the mail.
Harry hadn't had a single letter since Hagrid's note, something that Malfoy had been quick to notice, of course. Malfoy's eagle owl was always bringing him packages of sweets from home, which he opened gloatingly at the Slytherin table. So of course it was something I was quick to remedy and today Harry got a bigger box of sweets than Draco ever had and I couldn't help but stick my tongue out at the back of Draco's head.
"Who sent me this," Harry asked. He pulled out Mars Bars; apparently he liked it so who was I to judge, chocolate frogs, and 2 boxes chocolates. Draco was furious, Harry on the other hand couldn't stop smiling.
And I was studying what Neville had just been sent by his gran.
So what did you think? Anything I majorly screwed up on? And my sister is all better. Anything I could improve on? Thank you for reading and I hope you all have the best day/night ever!
