Last time on Deadliest Warrior of Fiction,

Warriors from across fiction met in a clash with their equals.

Only a select few survived, now it is time to find out between the winners of this season and last season who is deadliest?

Our combatants, in ancient combat, the swift and deadly Rivendell Elf.

(The Rivendell Elf drives his dagger into the neck of the Legionnaire of the Dead)

The Elf proved himself with a combination of speed, precision and a killer arsenal of weapons.

(The Elf decapitates the last of the Firebenders)

Today he faces another foe, one who emerged above all others last season:

The mighty and fearless Grey Warden.

(The Grey Warden plunges his sword into the neck of the last Imperial Legionnaire)

The Warden's diverse training experience and armour have gotten him this far,

(The Warden Leader stabs the Blade in the neck)

But how would a Grey Warden fare against another ancient champion from another world?

To find out which of our ancient warrior champions would emerge victorious, we've once again assembled our warrior experts, Elrond, the ruler of Rivendell, and Alistair Therin, former Grey Warden and King of Ferelden.

"My people can live for centuries." Elrond explained. "In that time, we will have amassed more experience than any Warden will have in an entire lifetime."

"At the end of the day, the Wardens have both elves and knights in their ranks and know the strengths and weaknesses of both." Said Alistair. "Don't count us out just yet."

The battle for the title of Deadliest Ancient Warrior begins at long range, where the Warden and the Rivendell Elf open fire with longbows, the Warden's Commission and the Elven Longbow.

"These bows are pretty similar." Said DAM. "From a medical standpoint, they're about even in draw weight and impact damage."

"Ah, but you forget, doctor." Elrond said. "Our archers are peerless in Middle Earth. The Wardens may be accurate, but we are far more so."

"But can you shoot through our armour?" Alistair said, pulling up a silverite chestplate, common among the Wardens. "I think this might just slow you down some."

"Armour is one thing," Scarecrow said "But when you're talking archery, Elves are undefeated. The bows may be even, but in experience and training, the edge for me goes to Rivendell.

For long range weapons, experience and training give the edge to the Rivendell Elves for the Elven Longbow.

The battle now moves in close as both sides pull out their heavy weapons: the Elven Greatsword and the Warden's Reach.

"Right from the start." Alistair said, pulling out the Reach. "This is a far larger weapon than yours, and we've got a double edged blade."

"But with a weapon that size, you will be slowed by it."Elrond said, drawing his greatsword. "With our sword, we have both reach and speed. We can cut down an enemy before he even makes his swing."

"I honestly think this one is going to be a tie." Said Scarecrow. "I mean, it all comes down to the man behind the weapon on this comparison."

"But there's one big factor here," Said DAM "And that's the warriors' armour. An elf has lighter plate and chain armour while a Warden knight is an absolute fortress in his silverite plate. I think that in a comparison like this one, the Warden's armour is going to be able to take more hits than the elf's, so my edge goes to the Warden's Reach."

"I think I'll have to side with the doc here, more range and superior protection give the Warden the edge." Zivon concluded.

For medium range weapons, the edge goes to the Grey Wardens for the Warden's Reach.

When a more subtle killer was needed, both of these warriors could fall back on their knives: the Warden's Twinblades and the Elven Dagger.

"Right from the start again, I have two weapons." Alistair explained. "Two weapons instead of one gives me an edge over your single dagger."

"But once again, human king, our weapon is in the hands of a faster, more experienced warrior." Elrond countered. "Correct me if I am wrong, but the knives you are using are most often carried by those in lighter armour, something our dagger would have no trouble breaking through."

"In a fight between knives, I do like the options that having two blades gives you." Said DAM.

"But look back on the tests we've run on these knives." Scarecrow countered. "The Twinblade barely scratched the Imperial steel, do you really think it'll break through Elven plate? Chainmail, maybe, but Elven plate armour is another point entirely."

"Scarecrow has a point." Said Zivon "Having two knives isn't worth much if you can't make a lethal blow with them. The Elven Dagger is better at breaking through armour, and while it might not kill through silverite plate, it'll go right through leather. Edge to the Rivendell Elves."

In special weapons, the edge goes to the Rivendell Elves for the Elven Dagger.

Finally, our warriors both draw their close combat blades. The Rivendell Elves would attack with the Elven Longsword while the Wardens countered with the Warden's Companion.

Alistair and Elrond both presented their blades to the experts, Alistair with the Warden's Companion broadsword and Elrond with the curved blade of the Elven Longsword.

"I think I have to first say I like the reach of the Warden's Companion," Said DAM, "As well as the fact that you can get a good cut and a good thrust with it.

"This is true," Scarecrow countered "But I like the fact that the Elven Longsword is faster and with that curved blade it'll have the far superior cut to the Warden's Companion."

"I think," Zivon piped up "That the advantages of either blade are countered by the opposing one. The Warden's Companion is longer, but the Elves have the speed to close the distance and make their attacks. That said, I think there is one factor that gives this to the Wardens, and that's the fact that they can use their shield as a weapon as well. In this case, that gives a slight edge to the Wardens."

In a hard fought battle, the Grey Wardens take the edge for the Warden's Companion.

The final factor to consider in this battle to the death is armour. Both of these warriors came to battle encased in metal, the Elves taking to the field in Elven Steel Plate and Chain, while the Wardens would enter battle in Articulated Silverite Plate and Drakeskin Leather.

"Looking at both of these sets of armour," Scarecrow said "I like the Warden's plate armour, but that leather is going to get shredded by the Elves. Meanwhile, all the Elves are dressed in the same armour, and they all have a shield that, while it isn't used for attacking, it is made of the same material. All things considered, I think the edge here is even."

"I agree with you on the leather," DAM replied "But when we're talking metal, the Wardens have the clear advantage. Their plate is stronger and covers a lot more. The Elves are relying on both plate and chain, and while the plate is strong, chainmail has shown its faults a few too many times for me. Edge goes to the Wardens."

"Completely agreed there DAM," Zivon said. "The Wardens have the superior plate. That stuff has stood up in all the fights we've put him in."

For armour, the edge goes to the Grey Wardens for their Silverite Plate.

With all the weapons tested, it's time for one final consideration. Each warrior brings an X-factor to this fight, and for the Wardens, their X-Factor is their diverse training and motivation.

"Wardens train with fighters from across Thedas." Alistair explained. "In my time with the Wardens, I brought Templar experience to the fight, but we also had recruits from the Dalish Elves, Dwarven Berserkers and members of the Legion of the Dead. We take the training from all these warriors and incorporate it into our own, then we take it all into battle with us. We all know what's at stake when we go into battle, and we're all aware of what happens if we fail."

The Wardens have a multitude of warriors on their side, but the Rivendell Elves have experience on their side, as each elf of Rivendell has lived for over a century.

"Experience in battle cannot be discounted." Enrond explained. "Once you have lived for over a century, the amount of experience you gain is vital. We have experienced entire lifetimes of experience and have seen hundreds of battles from the War of the Ring to the Battle of the Five Armies. Through all these battles, we have gained experience beyond what any Grey Warden may possess."

"Both of these X-factors may prove crucial in this fight." Scarecrow explained. "The Rivendell Elves have lived for so long that they have lifetimes of experience behind them, but the Wardens have so many different types of warriors in their ranks that they might just have the right tactics to counter the elves. There's only one way to find out who the winner is, and that is to run the sim and find out."

The simulation will generate a blow by blow battle to the death between these two warriors. Five Grey Wardens against five Rivendell Elves. In the end, only one will remain to determine who is the Deadliest Warrior.

Stalwart heroes

(Several Wardens stand side by side to repel the oncoming Darkspawn horde)

Vs swift killers

(A party of Rivendell Elves ambush a company of orcs in the forest, emerging from trees and cutting them down)

Scarecrow hits one final key and the battle begins

001001011010100101010110101010101010101111010001

The battle begins as five Grey Wardens enter a forest. Many had vanished in this forest, and the Wardens had come to investigate the possibility of the Darkspawn being involved. Since one of those missing was a member of the Legion of the Dead, that was a distinct possibility.

Leading the group was the Warden Knight who prevailed over the Imperial Legion and the Blade, his shield on his arm and a Warden's Companion on his hip. Following him into battle was a pair of Elven rogues, one man and one woman, each armed with a Commission and a pair of Twinblades and wearing Drakeskin, a human in Drakeskin with a sword and dagger, and a Dwarf in matching plate to his carrying a Warden's Reach.

Grey Wardens: IIIII

Little did the Wardens know they were being watched. After all, their senses could detect the Darkspawn, but not Elves. Watching them from the trees around them were five Rivendell Elves, their leader being the elf who triumphed over the Legionnaire and the Firebenders. He held his longbow in hand while also carrying his shield and longsword on his back.

Following him into battle were four other elves. Two of them carried longbows and daggers, while the other two carried a greatsword each. The lead elf turned to his men and gestured for them to surround the intruders. With a collective nod, the other elves dispersed and quietly moved to surround the Wardens.

Grey Wardens: IIIII

Rivendell Elves: IIIII

As the Wardens reached a clearing in the woods, the Warden leader ordered his men to a stop and drew his sword, the other Wardens following suit, each one drawing their preferred weapon. Each one kept their eyes on the forest around them, alert for any signs of movement.

In a matter of seconds, the elves exploded into action. A series of arrows were fired from the forest, peppering the human in leather with arrows and dropping him to the ground, dead.

Grey Wardens: IIII

Rivendell Elves: IIIII

The second the Wardens's attention was drawn to their fallen comrade, the two greatsword wielding elves charged from the forest. The first to react was the Dwarf Warden who alerted his comrades. One of the two elves was caught unawares at first and was cut down as he tried to draw his knives to block the attack.

Grey Wardens: III

Rivendell Elves: IIIII

The dwarf blocked the attack against him and used his strength to shove the elf back. In one fluid motion, he used his sword to knock the elf's legs out from under him and in one swing he crushed the Elf's chestplate, the Rivendell Elf screaming in pain as his ribs were broken. His screams were silenced as the dwarf brought his sword down on the elf's head, severing it.

Grey Wardens: III

Rivendell Elves: IIII

The second elven swordsman charged for the Warden leader, but the knight brought up his shield in defence, blocking the elf's strike and stabbing out with his own blade.

As the lead warden fought off his elven attacker, the other elves charged from the trees, swords raised for the kill. One was almost immediately brought down by the Warden's remaining elven archer, her Dalish training making her a quick and deadly shot.

Grey Wardens: III

Rivendell Elves: III

The Warden Leader slammed his shield into his opponent's chest, sending the elf swordsman stumbling back. The Warden struck with a stab, but a last second movement by the elf caused him to merely graze his armour as the elf resumed his attack, swinging his blade in a mighty arc that threw the lead warden to the ground. The elf raised his blade to finish off the Warden, but the tainted warrior raised his shield, the weapon of the elven warrior biting into the wood. His opponent distracted, the Warden stabbed forward with his blade, cutting into the elf's neck.

Grey Wardens: III

Rivendell Elves: II

As the last two Rivendell Elves made their final charge, the lead elf was confronted by the Wardens' last archer who threw her bow in the face of the oncoming elven warrior before drawing her Twinblades, the bow delaying his advance just long enough for her to go on the offensive, making several slashes that the Rivendell leader was forced to defend against, making the occasional attack with his blade as he took cover behind his shield.

As the tainted elf made a particularly vicious attack, the Rivendell leader shoved her back with his shield, bashing it against the Warden and pushing her back. He then reared back and threw the shield, the metal kite slamming into the elf and throwing her to the ground. In one fluid motion, the elf drew his dagger and leapt upon the Warden archer with dagger and longsword, driving both blades into her chest.

Grey Wardens: II

Rivendell Elves: II

The last of the elven soldiers locked swords with the dwarf Warden, the dwarf's massive blade and berserker training keeping the faster elf at bay, unable to get past the Dwarf's sheer reach with the blade. As the former soldier of Orzammar made another massive swing, the elf leapt over the strike and kicked the dwarf in the chest as he landed. The dwarf stumbled back, and the elf took it as his chance to strike, using a series of fluid slashes to drive the dwarf onto the defensive. The tainted dwarf was driven back slowly but surely by the elf's assault, his armour protecting him from the elf's attacks, but the speed he made them at rendered him unable to use his blade.

As another attack by the elf was deflected off the dwarf's chestplate, the dwarf reared back and struck the elf in the stomach with the pommel of his blade. As the elf stumbled back, the dwarf wound up and let fly a massive swing of his blade, the massive sword biting into the elf's armour and spilling blood. The elf fell to the ground, screaming in agony as the dwarf plunged his blade through the elf's chestplate and into his heart.

Grey Wardens: II

Rivendell Elves: I

As the dwarf pulled his blade free of the last elf's corpse, the elven commander grabbed him from behind, driving his dagger into the crack between the dwarf's chestplate and helmet. The dagger cut through the Dwarf's spine, the tainted warrior falling over dead as the elf released him.

Grey Wardens: I

Rivendell Elves: I

The Rivendell Leader turned as the Lead Warden approached him, sword and shield raised, the sunlight glinting off his silverite plate. The elf stood in a combat stance with sword and dagger raised. Both warriors began to circle the other, the eyes of the elf meeting those of the Warden behind his helmet. As one, both warriors charged, clashing blades in a shower of sparks. The elf quickly broke the deadlock, stabbing at the Warden's unguarded side. The Warden was caught unawares, but the elf's knife merely glanced off the Warden's armour, over balancing the elf and allowing the Warden to shove him back with a mighty push from his shield.

The elf stumbled back and the Warden pressed his attack, charging shield first. The elf rolled out of the way and hurled his dagger at the Warden. The knife bounced harmlessly off the Warden's shield as the tainted warrior batted it aside and charged again. Out of the corner of his eye, the elf spotted the longbow of his dead ally. Waiting until the Warden was on him, the elf leapt aside and broke into a run, leaping for the bow and stringing an arrow, letting it fly and striking the warden in the head, the arrow just piercing the helm and throwing the tainted warrior to the ground. The elf got to his feet as the Warden tore the helmet from his head, revealing his shoulder length black hair and brown eyes, his face set in a snarl as the elf strung another arrow.

The Rivendell Elf let his last arrow fly, but the Warden blocked it on his shield as he charged, the elf dodging his shield bash and dropping his bow as he drew his sword, the Elven Longsword's curved blade glinting in the light of the sun as the elf darted for his shield, the metal kite lying next to the corpse of one of the Warden archers. As the elven warrior picked up his shield, he raised it to block the Warden's slash with his broadsword. The elf stabbed forward with his blade only for the Warden to block his strike and push back. The elf leapt out of the way of the Warden's attack, only for the tainted warrior to strike with his shield. The elf blocked with his own shield, but the force of the blow knocked the metal shield from the elf's hands. His opponent having made his move, the elf struck, stabbing forward at his opponent's heart. The Warden had no room to dodge, however, he didn't need to, as the elf's sword slid off his chetplate with a shower of sparks. Knowing he only had one chance, the Lead Warden struck, bashing the elf in the face with his shield. Dazed, the Rivendell leader stumbled back as the Warden brought his Warden's Companion back. In one final swing, the Warden Leader slashed the elf across the throat.

The last Rivendell Elf fell to the ground and the Warden raised his sword in triumph. "In war, victory!"

Winner: Grey Warden

"After 1000 battles, the Warden emerged victorious." Scarecrow explained. "In the end, the deciding factor was armour. The elves had no way to reliably get through the Wardens' silverite plate, while the Wardens had multiple weapons that could break the elves' armour with relative ease."

Grey Warden Kills:
Warden's Companion: 201
Warden's Reach: 193
Commission: 98
Twinblade: 35
Total: 527

Rivendell Elf Kills
Elven Longsword: 77
Elven Greatsword: 114
Elven Longbow: 230
Elven Dagger: 52
Total: 473

The Rivendell Elves dominated the fight at long range, having the deadliest weapon in this fight with their longbow, but in close, the Grey Wardens took the fight with their Warden's Companion and Warden's Reach.

"In the end," Zivon explained "The warrior with the more reliable armour and weapons took the fight. The Wardens took victory in this war."

"Every warrior has a lucky day." Elrond said. "The Wardens' day of luck was today."

"I don't even think this fight would happen in real life." Alistair said with a smile. "If it did, we'd win, but if we had the option, I think we'd recruit a few of the Rivendell Elves, make our forces define even more the Deadliest Warrior."

The Wardens have taken the title of Deadliest Ancient Warrior, but in terms of killing potential, nothing changed the battlefield more than the advent of gunpowder. In the world of fiction, nothing pairs better with a gun than a suit of power armour.

Our gun toting warriors for this futuristic battle begin with the stealthy and versatile Nanosuit Soldier.

(The last Nanosuit Soldier uses his X-43 Mike to destroy both remaining Magnaguards)

With a combination of accurate and reliable weapons and the Nanosuit itself, they emerged victorious.

(The Nanosuit Soldier leader tears the helmet from the last member of Vader's Fist and drives a knife into his neck)

Today they face another suited hero of humanity, one who emerged victorious last season:

The legendary SPARTAN III

(The SPARTAN Commander drives his combat knife into the Predator's heart)

With their brutal training and powerful weapons, the SPARTAN IIIs dominated in season one,

(The SPARTAN Commander shoots the Cerberus Centurion with his comrade's shotgun)

But how will they fare against their newest opponent?

To find out which futuristic warrior would claim victory in this battle, our experts have brought back our experts, Carter A259 of the SPARTAN IIIs and Michael 'Psycho' Sykes.

"SPARTANs are the best of the best in the UNSC." Carter explained. "We have the best training, weapons and armour the army can supply."

"Only the best were allowed to wear the Nanosuit." Psycho said. "That's because once you wear it, it's a part of you."

The battle begins at long range with assault rifles. The SPARTANs will open the fight with their MA5C while the Nanosuit Soldiers will respond with the SCAR.

The hosts review the test footage of the two weapons as the experts defend their guns. "When you're fighting an enemy with an energy shield, every round counts." Carter began "And since we have more rounds than you, we're at an advantage right out of the gate."

"Our gun is more accurate though." Psycho countered. "Best strategy with the MA5C is to spray, but the SCAR is a much more precise weapon."

"Gotta say, I do like the precision angle of the SCAR." Said Scarecrow.

"I disagree, I think this one is a wash." Said DAM. "On one hand, the SCAR is more accurate, but it'll take more shots to put the SPARTAN down with his shield."

"I have to agree with the doctor here, edge for long range is even." Said Zivon.

In long range assault rifles, the edge is even.

When fights got closer, both warriors would bring out something with more bang for the buck: shotguns. For the SPARTAN III, the shotgun of choice was the M45 while the Nanosuit Soldiers employed the Jackal.

As the hosts reviewed the weapons tests, the experts made their cases. "Have you seen what we did to the last thing that called itself a jackal?" Carter replied. "I'll give you a hint, the M45 is the solution."

"But you get one shot at a time." Psycho argued. "Even with that fancy shield, a couple blasts from the Jackal will shut you up for good."

"Damage is damage." Scarecrow said. "When you compare these two guns, the Jackal is doing more damage faster than the M45 can. It gets my edge here."

"Completely agreed." Said DAM "That kind of firepower can tear shields apart."

For medium range shotguns, the Nanosuit Soldiers take the edge with the Jackal.

When a shotgun was too much, both soldiers fell back on their side arms. The pistol of choice for the UNSC was the M6G while the Nanosuit Soldiers carry the M-12 Nova.

"Right from the start," Psycho said "I need to point this out," he said, producing the pistol and taking out its twenty round magazine. "Bigger mag, more rounds, more fun."

"You'll need as much ammo as you can get since I still have my shields." Carter said, producing the M6G Magnum. "I might have fewer rounds, but I have more stopping power."

"He's got a point." Said Zivon. "I think the SPARTAN takes it here."

"Gotta disagree." Said DAM "The Nova has the bigger clip and can take a bigger bite out of the SPARTAN's shields."

"But the Nanosuit Soldier doesn't have shields to break down." Scarecrow said. "And if the SPARTAN catches him with his armour mode off, he's toast. Edge goes to the SPARTAN and the M6G pistol."

In close range, the SPARTAN III takes the edge for the M6G Magnum.

When each warrior required more firepower, they both carried a special weapon to get the job done. For the SPARTAN III, the heavy weapon of choice was the SPARTAN Laser while the Nanosuit Soldiers carried the X-43 MIKE.

As the test footage played, the experts defended their guns. Have you seen what a SPARTAN Laser does to a tank?" Carter opened. "If we were in battle and I had a laser, the last thing you would see is the colour red."

"Maybe, but you have to charge the damn thing up first." Psycho countered. "And while you do that, I'll fry you with the MIKE, armour and all."

"He's not wrong." Zivon said. "The microwave gun completely shorted out the Magnaguards, there's no evidence they won't be able to do the same to the SPARTANs."

"I completely disagree." DAM said. "The Laser has a much longer range and causes immediate death. With the microwave gun, you have a second to get out of the way before it cooks you, but once the laser fires, you're done."

"Yeah, once it fires." Said Scarecrow. "You've seen how long that thing takes to warm up, by the time it charges, the Nanosuit Soldier can get the hell out of dodge. On the other hand, the MIKE has a really short range, meaning that the Nanosuit soldier has to get up close and personal with the SPARTAN, and that's a dangerous place to be. I think this one is a wash."

For special weapons, the edge is even.

Finally, our warriors come to battle encased in armour, Shielded SPI armour for the SPARTAN III, and the Nanosuit for the Nanosuit Soldier.

"Alright," said Psycho "Let's talk about that fancy armour of yours. You've certainly got a nice shield there, but it can be broken and once it is, you've got quite a few vulnerable points on that armour."

"Unless you have armour mode turned on, that suit of yours is one giant weak point." Carter countered. "Our suit offers the superior protection by far."

"But the suit has other functions." Psycho retorted. "The suit will heal injuries, allow boosted strength and speed and has stealth capabilities. How much of that does SPARTAN Armour do?"

"He does make a good point with the functionality." Scarecrow said. "For injuries, I like the Nanosuit's ability to heal its wearer's injuries, so a non-fatal strike will be mended by the suit. That combined with the stealth function makes it a nightmare to an enemy."

"But with no shields, the suit allows a greater possibility for a fatal strike to happen." DAM countered. "I give my edge to the SPARTAN IIIs."

"Gotta agree with the doc here." Zivon said. "The Nanosuit can heal injuries and turn invisible, but the SPARTANs have faced invisible enemies before and without a shield, the Nanosuit Soldier is vulnerable. Edge goes to the SPARTANs."

For armour, the edge goes to the SPARTAN IIIs.

With the weapons tested, there's only one thing left to consider, an X-factor that cannot be so easily quantified. For the SPARTAN IIIs, their X-factor is training.

"While our training might not have been as intense as the SPARTAN II program, it was still more than any other soldier in the UNSC." Carter explained. "The training was brutal, designed to make us into living weapons, and it succeeded."

The SPARTAN training was tough, but the Nanosuit Soldiers have an X-factor of their own: creativity. They were trained to make full use of the functions of the Nanosuit, trained to use the suit's powers as efficiently as possible.

"The first thing one of our men does when looking over a mission is to analyze the situation and decide on which of our weapons or techniques would fit best." Psycho explained. "We've got both our own minds and the analysis of the Nanosuit on our side, and I think that gives us an edge."

"Each of these warriors has the training and equipment designed to make them absolutely lethal." Scarecrow explained. One thing that I think might just be a key factor for the Nanosuit Soldiers is that they tend to take more time to evaluate a situation than a SPARTAN III. Now, that can be a strength as it lets them create more deadly manoeuvres and strategies. However, it can also be a weakness, as it means that the SPARTANs can more easily close the distance while the Nanosuit Soldiers are planning their move. There's only one way to determine the winner, that's to fire up the sim and see who comes out on top."

The simulation will run one thousand battles to determine which human weapons are deadlier. This will be a squad on squad battle, five SPARTAN IIIs against five Nanosuit Soldiers. In the end, only one will be left standing to determine who is the Deadliest Warrior of Fiction.

Five Nanosuit Soldiers patrol the remains of the city where Vader's Fist had been defeated. Command had instructed them to remain in the city and stay on the lookout for anyone entering the city. The Nanosuit commander, the man who had killed both Vader's Fist and the Magnaguards, held a SCAR in his hands with a Nova at his hip. Two of his men held SCARs like his but had Jackals holstered on their backs. Nearby, they held a cache of weapons for emergencies.

Nanosuit Soldiers: IIIII

This moment might have been a good time to seek out that cache, as intruders had arrived in the city, and they were armed and armoured. They were SPARTAN IIIs, led by the supersoldier who had defeated both the Predators and Cerberus who carried a MA5C in hand and a magnum at his hip. Behind him was a four man fireteam, two armed with assault rifles and two with shotguns, one of the shotgunners carrying a SPARTAN Laser. The UNSC supersoldiers stood in the city square, armed and ready for battle.

Nanosuit Soldiers: IIIII

SPARTAN III: IIIII

From the shadows surrounding the SPARTANs, the Nanosuit Soldiers watched with their suits' tactical mode, learning two very important factors about the intruders: they were human, and the armour they wore was projecting some sort of finite energy shield. Knowing that the shield existed and could be broken gave the special operatives pause as they knew they would have to be very careful in fighting these soldiers. As quietly as he could, the Nanosuit commander relayed an order to his men on their strategy. If all went according to plan, they should be able to win.

The SPARTAN leader held up a hand, calling for his men to stop. Something wasn't right. The city was too quiet, but he could swear he had seen movement in the shadows around them. Having had experience fighting invisible elites, he knew it wasn't a good sign. He called for his men to halt and be on the lookout for any movement.

Not even a second after the SPARTAN leader gave his order, the Nanosuit Soldiers sprung their ambush, surrounding the SPARTAN fireteam and firing as one on one of the supersoldiers, the combined fire quickly draining his shields and peppering him with bullets.

Nanosuit Soldiers: IIIII

SPARTAN III: IIII

The SPARTANs quickly noticed the opposing soldiers and opened fire, but the Nanosuit wearers dove into cover, their suits quickly recharging and allowing them cloak and escape. As the soldiers ran, they split off into teams, with the commander leading another man to their weapons cache while the other three were to stay close to the SPARTANs.

The supersoldiers followed the larger group of soldiers, running out of the city square after the group, spotting them as they activated their cloaking functions. As the first SPARTAN rounded the corner of the street leading out of the square, he was immediately gunned down by a Nanosuit Soldier's Jackal, two blasts being enough to kill.

Nanosuit Soldiers: IIIII

SPARTAN III: III

The next supersoldier rolled out of cover and opened fire with his assault rifle, peppering the Nanosuit Soldier with bullets.

Nanosuit Soldiers: IIII

SPARTAN III: III

With the enemy down, the SPARTAN III gestured for his remaining men to follow him, the other two men advancing out after him deeper into the city. With the knowledge that these enemies could turn invisible, the SPARTAN's were on the lookout for any sign of movement. Having fought invisible Elites in the past, they were experienced in fighting invisible enemies.

Meanwhile, the Nanosuit commander led his following man to their cache of weapons, both soldiers loading up on ammunition and the leader pulling out an X-43 MIKE. The two soldiers exchanged a nod before setting out to find their comrades.

The two remaining Nanosuit Soldiers used their boosted speed to round a corner ahead of the SPARTANS, each one readying their weapons as the supersoldiers approached. The second the first SPARTAN rounded their corner, the two soldiers opened fire, the volume of fire dropping his shields and piercing his armour.

Nanosuit Soldier: IIII

SPARTAN III: II

The two remaining SPARTANs charged, the leader tackling one of the soldiers, his enhanced strength being able to throw the soldier through the wall of a building. The second Nanosuit Soldier was forced into cover from the second SPARTAN's shotgun fire, taking cover behind a broken down car. The rhythmic sound of shotgun fire against the car's chassis along with the sound of the gun pumping gradually grew closer as the SPARTAN advanced on the soldier's position. Taking a risk, the soldier made a snap decision. Turning to face the car, the soldier called upon the strength of the Nanosuit and shot his leg out in a mighty power kick.

The SPARTAN III fired his shotgun one more time, and pumped the gun. That was when he heard the sound of the soldier's foot impact the car. The second he did, it was only the SPARTAN's enhanced reaction time that saved him from being flattened as he dove to the side, landing in a roll. Getting to his feet, the SPARTAN raised his shotgun just as the Nanosuit Soldier raised his. Two simultaneous shots rang out, the Nanosuit Soldier falling over with a hole in his chest, the SPARTAN's shields slowly beginning to recharge.

Nanosuit Soldier: III

SPARTAN III: II

The SPARTAN Leader and Nanosuit Soldier he tackled both got to their feet. The SPARTAN raised his MA5C and opened fire, but the Nanosuit Soldier merely stood up, the voice of the suit speaking in his head: "Maximum Armour."

The bullets glancing off the hardened suit, the soldier charged, raising his Jackal for the kill. The SPARTAN leader kept firing, even as the enemy shrugged off his shots. As the soldier raised his gun, the SPARTAN dove aside, the blast of buckshot sailing over his head. As the soldier readjusted his aim, the SPARTAN rushed him, rolling under another shot and coming up right next to the soldier.

The Nanosuit Soldier raised his shotgun again, but the SPARTAN shoved it out of the way and punched him in the gut, the soldier barely flinching. Undeterred, the SPARTAN followed with a leg sweep, knocking the soldier to the ground. Growing annoyed, the soldier power kicked the SPARTAN, launching him into the wall of the building and draining both his shields and the power of the suit and raising a massive cloud of dust where the supersoldier landed.

The Nanosuit Soldier got to his feet and raised his gun, advancing slowly on the other side of the room where the SPARTAN landed. From the dust cloud, the SPARTAN burst into motion, drawing his magnum and firing, nailing the Nanosuit Soldier in the forehead. The soldier fell dead to the ground as the SPARTAN rose to his feet, panting heavily and recharging his shields.

Nanosuit Soldier: II

SPARTAN III: II

The SPARTAN leader recovered his MA5C and loaded the gun as his teammate entered the building shotgun raised. When he saw his leader had won, he lowered the gun. The lead SPARTAN gestured out of the building and the last supersoldier nodded.

Meanwhile, the last Nanosuit Soldiers approached carefully scanning the city streets for the enemy. As they reached the end of a street, the saw the two SPARTANs emerge from a building. Taking cover, the two soldiers took aim and opened fire.

As the bullets flew, the SPARTANs, dove for cover, the leader managing to escape unscathed, while his last man lost shields and took a bullet in the leg. Leaning out of cover, the SPARTAN leader raised and fired his MA5C, hitting the last Nanosuit Soldier between the eyes.

Nanosuit Soldier: I

SPARTAN III: II

As his last man fell, the Nanosuit commander activated his suit's armour mode and opened fire with his SCAR, the SPARTAN leader darting through the fire and dragging his last man into the building they emerged from.

The Nanosuit commander lowered his gun and reloaded as the two supersoldiers entered the building. Taking a deep breath, he picked up the X-43 MIKE and slowly began to advance down the street, finger on the trigger.

Meanwhile, in the building, the SPARTAN leader pulled his last man aside and pulled the SPARTAN Laser off his back, lying the soldier on his back to examine the bullet in his leg. Just as he thought, the bullet was lodged in the man's leg, but just in the skin, not the bone. He'd still be able to walk, but that wound would require some attention back at base. The supersoldier patted his man on the shoulder and both were about to rise when they heard footsteps. Knowing the enemy could turn invisible, the two soldiers exchanged a nod and split up. The shotgunner taking cover where he was while the leader took his laser and slapped it on his back, running further into the building.

The invisible Nanosuit commander slowly advanced into the base, weapon raised. The last of the enemy were in here, and since they had armour strong enough to resist gunfire, he needed to be careful with every step, as in a prolonged gunfight, he would lose.

Good thing his gun didn't fire bullets.

As he advanced, his tactical vision discovered the covered position of one of the SPARTANs, identifying him as the injured supersoldier with the shotgun. Knowing that one shot from that gun could take him down, the Nanosuit commander realized he needed a plan. Taking cover close by the enemy, he put his plan into action.

The SPARTAN peered about the room from his covered position, finger on the trigger. The slightest bit of motion caught his attention, and the supersoldier raised his shotgun and fired, the bullets striking a wall. The soldier turned around, only to find the Nanosuit commander, MIKE raised. The soldier pulled the trigger and fired. Sparks flew off the SPARTAN's armour and he screamed in pain as he was cooked alive.

Nanosuit Soldier: I

SPARTAN III: I

The screams of his last man drew the SPARTAN leader into battle, the supersoldier opening fire with his MA5C. The first shot hit the Nanosuit Soldier in the shoulder, but the suit was already healing him as he rasied the MIKE again, returning fire as he dove for cover.

The SPARTAN rolled out of the way of the radiation and brought his rifle up again, but by the time he did, the enemy was gone. Raising his rifle, the SPARTAN searched every inch of the room for the last of the enemy. Part of him wanted to run for the door, but the enemy would expect that and be on him in seconds. Instead, he remained on the lookout for any movement or sound that would give away the enemy. Taking cover behind collapsed masonry, the supersoldier watched the room, reaching down to the ground. A shimmer in the air caught his attention and the SPARTAN burst into action, hurling a handful of mud at the shimmer. The mud stuck and seemed to float on impact as it made contact. The SPARTAN, his target revealed, raised his MA5C and opened fire, but the Nanosuit commander, his cover blown, switched to armour mode and charged, barrelling through the SPARTAN's cover and grabbing him by the rifle. The soldier ripped the weapon from the SPARTAN's grasp and kicked him in the chest. When the SPARTAN retaliated, throwing a vicious right hook at the Nanosuit soldier caught the attack mid swing and threw the supersoldier back. The Nanosuit commander advanced on his stunned enemy, grabbing the enemy warrior by the chestplate. With all his enhanced strength, the soldier threw the SPARTAN through the wall of the building, throwing up a massive cloud of dust as the telltale flash of light showed the SPARTAN's shields collapsing from the hit.

Raising his SCAR, the soldier advanced on the cloud of dust. The use of his suit had drained its energy, but he still had his gun and a fully loaded clip. He stayed alert for any sign of movement within the cloud, as movement meant his opponent was still alive. As the dust began to settle, a red light began to shine from within. Surprised, the soldier took a step back. A second later, the SPARTAN Laser fired, the massive red blast slamming into the soldier, blasting him through the chest.

The SPARTAN leader rose from the settling dust, his shields recharging as he examined his opponen't condition. A massive hole had been blown in the Nanosuit commander's chest. Holstering the laser on his back, the SPARTAN nodded at the corpse of his enemy.

Winner: SPARTAN III

"This fight was closer than we thought." Scarecrow explained. "The tactics used by the Nanosuit Soldiers were absolutely lethal, but the fact that they were physically weaker and had little armour as compared to the SPARTANs was what really decided the battle. If the Nanosuit was shielded, this battle might have turned out different, but in the end the SPARTANs took it."

SPARTAN III Kills:
MA5C: 170
M45: 154
M6G: 85
SPARTAN Laser: 98
Total: 507

Nanosuit Soldier Kills:
SCAR: 168
Jackal: 166
M-12 Nova: 73
X-43 Mike: 86
Total: 493

"The SPARTANs and Nanosuit Soldiers were about equal in weapons," Zivon explained "And both had amazing armour, but the SPARTANs were able to take way more punishment and the Nanosuit Soldiers, while versatile and able to recover quickly from punishment, were just not able to stand up to the SPARTANs in the end."

"I still say that we should have won." Psycho argued. "The SPARTANs got lucky here."

"I know who we are and I know what we've done." Carter said. "With everything we've been through, I know we are the Deadliest Warrior."

Sorry to Lord of the Rings and Crysis fans...

Vs

(A man in a white hood swings a basket hilted sword at the camera)

Ezio Auditore, the Master Assassin who retook Rome from the Templar Order and rebuilt the Italian Assassin brotherhood.

Alright guys, it's time for season three, so place your bets on who you think will win this fight, and don't forget to leave request for who you want to see enter the arena. Just a few rules, try to leave out super powered combatants unless their powers are usable as a weapon only and you have an idea for who they can face. Also, don't make requests for obvious curbstomp fights just to see one character lose, that's not fun to write or read.

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed this fight, and just to build up a little more hype for the season, let's list off a few more fighters.

The Dothraki

The Darkspawn

Tywin Lannister

ODST

Want to know who they're fighting? Who's to say they're not fighting some of the characters I listed last chapter? Only one way to find out.
