A/N: I am so so so so so so so so sorry! I'm a horrible person and I suck majorly at updating, and, unfortunately, I doubt I'll be getting any better with all the schoolwork I've got going :( But, feel free to message me and harass me and you will most likely get a chapter sooner!
This entire chapter is in Elijah's POV, and I expect that the next few chapters will be as well, I don't think that I could to a pregnant character's POV any justice!
Anyway, please enjoy this severely late chapter and tell me what you think!

3 Months Later…
I winced as I heard Elena break something else in her frustration.
We had estimated that she was around three and a half months pregnant, and it was evident. Her moods had been all over the place for the last few months and I had gotten used to the sound of objects shattering or splintering as she threw them across the room. We assumed that her mood swings were so 'over the top', so to speak, because she was still a vampire. Despite all the research myself, my siblings, and Elena's friends had done, we still weren't sure what was enabling her to remain a vampire and be pregnant.
It should have been impossible. But somehow it wasn't. I was hardly going to complain…Although…less mood swings would have been nice.
The sounds of Elena crying hit my sensitive ears and I closed the book I was reading (a book on pregnancy, birth and childcare that Rebekah had decided to buy for me) and set it aside as I stood from the couch and disappeared upstairs.
Our bedroom door was closed and I knocked on it softly – the last time I had walked in on Elena while she was crying she had nearly taken my head off a second later!
"Elena? Sweetheart, can I come in?"
I could just about make out the muttered sound of her giving me permission and opened the door slowly.
What looked like the entire content of our wardrobe and chest of drawers – minus my clothes – was strewn about the room and I grimaced, locating Elena on our bed in the middle of a heap of clothing. I moved the clothes to the end of the bed and sat beside Elena. Instantly, she shuffled over and laid her head on my lap, sniveling quietly.
"What's wrong, lovely?" I asked her quietly.
"I'm ugly and I'm fat and none of my clothes fit." She sobbed.
I stifled a chuckle.
"And now you're laughing at me." Elena wept.
I sighed and gently sat her up, cupping her face in my hands. "Elena, I'm laughing because I find it truly unbelievable that you could possibly think that low of yourself." I wiped away the tears on her cheeks and looked her in the eye. "You are the most beautiful person that I have ever met, Elena, inside and out; pregnant or not. And I will still love you no matter what."
Elena smiled weakly and leant in to hug me. I wrapped my arms around her slender frame and breathed a soft sigh of relief.
"What about my clothes?" She muttered after a few minutes. "They still don't fit."
"We could go shopping?" I offered weakly, grimacing at the sound of Rebekah sighing and muttering something about stupid brothers before making her way up the stairs.
Elena pulled away from me and glared. "So you agree? You think I'm fat?"
"What? No! Of course not!"
"Yes, you do." She dissolved into sobs again and Rebekah opened the door a moment later.
"Out." She hissed. I opened my mouth to argue, but snapped it shut again at her glare and the sound of Elena's continued sobs.
Klaus and Kol snickered at me when I walked into the kitchen and collapsed on a bar stool. "What did I do wrong?"

About fifteen minutes later, Rebekah gave me the all clear to go upstairs, with instructions not to screw up again.
"I don't know what-"
Rebekah cut me off with a glare and I held my hands up in surrender as I stood from the island and began making my way up to Elena.
"Elena?" I asked softly, opening the door.
She was led on her stomach on our bed and I let out a breath as I shut our door quietly. I sat beside her on the bed and gently put my hand on her back.
"I'm sorry, sweetheart. I didn't mean to upset you."
"'s okay." She muttered in reply. "I completely overreacted." Elena turned her head to look at me and I quirked my lips slightly. She sat up and moved beside me, leaning into my side. "I suck lately, and I've been so horrible to you, and I'm so sorry."
I wound my arm around her shoulders and kissed the top of her head lightly. "It's okay, lovely, I understand. I may not always understand why you are upset with me, but I am trying to."
"I know." She sniffled. "But I don't really help with that."
I chuckled softly and rubbed her upper arm. "Well then, we are just going to have to try and help each other out."
Elena laughed quietly and nestled into my side. "Yeah."
"How are you feeling, sweetheart?" I asked tentatively, wary of upsetting the brunette in my arms.
She shrugged as much as she could. "Tired; hungry. I don't know what I want more – food or sleep. But at the same time I've gotta clean this up."
I chuckled softly at her reply and shook my head. "Why don't you get some rest? And I shall go get you some food, then I'll tidy this all up."
Elena looked around at me, shock and love shining in her eyes. She crushed her lips to mine and kissed me eagerly, making my eyes widen in surprise at her sudden action before they slid closed and I relaxed.
"What was that for?" I asked, slightly breathlessly, when she pulled away.
"You're amazing. Did you know that?" I grinned at her whisper of a reply and kissed her lightly on the lips once more before standing up and moving the piles of clothes from our bed.
"Is there anything particular you want, lovely?"
Elena thought for a second before replying. "Dry spaghetti."
I nodded and smiled at her – knowing not to question her bizarre cravings if I wanted to keep my head (which I did). "Of course."
She grinned at me as I left out bedroom, closing the door behind me.
Kol tossed a packet of spaghetti in my direction when I walked into the kitchen and I snatched it out of the air before it made contact with my face, glaring at my youngest brother. He smirked at me and shrugged. "You're welcome."
Niklaus and Rebekah scoffed and I sighed tiredly, massaging my brow with my hand. "Must you all insist on being so tedious?" I sighed, leaning against the doorframe.
Kol opened his mouth, no doubt to make some witty remark, but Niklaus cut over him. "Kol, Eli's right, we should give it a rest. It can't be easy for him to look after his pregnant, hormonal, vampire girlfriend and find time to babysit you."
Rebekah and I let out a tired sigh in tandem as Kol glared at Niklaus and cried out indignantly.
"And you started off so well, Klaus." Rebekah muttered.
I sighed again and shook my head slightly as I turned and left the room, taking the packet of spaghetti up to Elena.
She was asleep, curled up on the bed, covers under her; the corner clutched in her hands. I smiled at the sight and quietly walked into the room, placing the spaghetti on the dresser and taking a blanket from the closet, gently laying it over her and silently placing all the clothes away.
When I went back downstairs, Kol, Rebekah and Niklaus had moved into the lounge and were arguing.
"Be quiet." I hissed, lightly slapping Kol on the head as he began to shout at Niklaus and Rebekah. "Elena is asleep." Kol narrowed his eyes at me, rubbing the back of his head absently, while Rebekah and Klaus sniggered at him.
I sighed at their antics as I walked over to the liquor cart and poured myself a glass of scotch. My siblings started bickering again, though, thankfully, quietly this time.
"Just a little stressed then?" Niklaus commented, joining me by the cart and nodding at the glass in my hand. I sighed.
"Niklaus, why don't you attempt caring for your hormonal, pregnant, vampire, girlfriend, all the while having to deal with your annoying, vexatious, younger siblings, and then ask me if I am stressed?" I snapped.
Klaus held his hands up in surrender and shrugged slightly. "Alright, alright, I'd much prefer to keep my head if you don't mind."
I narrowed my eyes at him and swallowed the rest of my scotch, refilling the glass and pouring one for Niklaus when he held one out to me.
"I'll take that as one hell of a yes." He smirked, sipping at his drink. "Seriously, Elijah, you have got to relax. All this stress isn't good for you or Elena."
"Not to mention us if you get any more stressed than you are now." Kol chipped in, he and Rebekah finally ceasing their arguing.
"I am fine." I sighed, licking my lips and summoning an overly sunny grin.
My siblings rolled their eyes and Rebekah finally piped up. "No, you're really not, Elijah. You need to do something to relax before you take someone's head off!"
I let out another breath and shook my head. "What would you suggest, sister? I can hardly leave Elena alone."
My siblings rolled their eyes.
"Eli, brother, you're coming with me, and I'm sure that the Original Hybrid and our sister, who is also an Original, can take care of one woman." Kol said, appearing beside me and taking the glass from my hand, before leading me away with a firm hand on my shoulder.
"Kol…" I growled in warning. He scoffed by my ear.
"What are you going to do, Elijah? Dagger me?"
I huffed out a breath and stopped in the doorway, refusing to let Kol move me any further. "No, Kol. I will not dagger you, but I am not leaving Elena."
All of my siblings huffed and Niklaus glared at me. "You might not dagger Kol, but I will dagger you if it's the only way to get you to relax!"
I opened my mouth to argue with them, but the sound of Elena's soft voice coming from our bedroom had my mouth snapping shut and I glared at my siblings one final time before disappearing to our room.
"Elena?" I asked quietly. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." She snapped, throwing a cushion at my head. I ducked out of the way and raised my eyebrows at her in confusion and shock.
"Wha-" I was cut off by another pillow, hitting me in the chest that time, and I narrowed my eyes at Elena, tossing the cushion aside.
"Is there any particular reason I am being assaulted with cushions?" I asked dryly, placing the cushion aside and walking over to the bed, perching on the side.
"You're being an idiot, Elijah." She admonished me, slapping me on the arm. I frowned at her. "Eli, even I can tell that you are beyond stressed out and I'm the one who's supposed to be freaking out." She explained gently, taking hold of my hand and causing my gaze to drop to them.
Elena gently twined our fingers and squeezed. "Go out with Kol, Elijah. Go out and don't even think about coming back until you've got the metaphorical stick out of your ass."
"You are so nice to me." I muttered.
Elena scoffed and brought her hand up, under my chin and pulled my gaze up. "I love you, Elijah, but you seriously need to relax. And I will be fine with Klaus and Rebekah for a few hours." She said, smiling at me. When I didn't reply
She sighed. "Do you trust me?"
I narrowed my eyes at her, already knowing where this was going. "You know I do."
"Then trust me when I say I'll be fine. You need to spend more time with your siblings anyway." Elena pointed out, rocking up so that she was kneeling and squeezing my chin between her thumb and forefinger.
I mock glared at her and gently tackled her back onto the bed. "I am aware." I muttered, kissing her softly. "But I worry about you."
"You worry too much." Elena retorted. "Now get the hell out of here before I have to physically force you out of the door." She slapped me on the arm again and kissed me once more before shoving me off of her. "Out!"
"Elena…"
"Yes, I'm sure and yes, I'll be fine." She interrupted me.
"And what if you're not! What if something happens to you; to either of you? What then?" I protested n a yell, but, to Elena's credit, she didn't flinch.
"Then something happens." She shrugged. "Chances are whatever it was would've happened whether you were here or not."
I sighed, prepared to argue all night if I had to.
ooOoo
"What're we drinking?" Kol yelled in my ear.
I wasn't really sure how it happened. One moment I was arguing with Elena, and the next I was walking in to Rousseau's with Kol… One would have I assumed I had learned to stop underestimating Elena… (I thought I had!) Clearly though, I was wrong.
Clearly, I still wasn't thinking straight as I off-handedly replied for my brother to get whatever drinks he thought were fit and absently took a seat at one of the tables in the corner.
I looked away from the throng of people after a few moments to see what was keeping Kol, and found that his gaze was on me and he gestured towards two blondes by the bar. I narrowed my eyes at him and Kol smirked, holding his hands up slightly in a mock surrender before turning back to the bar.
When he came back, he was carrying two trays and he set one in front of me, the other in front of himself. I raised an eyebrow when I saw the amount of shots on the two trays and Kol grinned.
"We're vampires, Eli! You may not have noticed, but it takes quite a lot for us to actually get drunk!" He shouted, uncaring of the drunk party-goers around us, and took one of his shots.
Kol pushed my tray closer to me and raised an eyebrow. I took a breath and let it out in one long sigh. There was no way on earth I was going to get out of this. I swallowed one of the shots and put the glass back down with a light thud.
Kol grinned again, wider than before and with a slight glint in his eye.
