Disclaimer: I do not own King of the Hill
I hope you'll just enjoy this special almost as much as your own Thanksgiving. In case your wondering the title is a play on the title of the book/movie The Hunt for Red October.
It was three days before Thanksgiving and Hank Hill along with his son Bobby were waiting at the Dallas International Airport. Hank's mother Tilly was coming in from Arizona while Bobby was waiting for a special guest to arrive. Things have been quiet on Rainy Street, normally Bill would spin an elaborate tale about spending the day with family, only to somehow always end up at their house. Dale would be out there spouting off the same old crazy conspiracy of how Black Friday is some type of government scheme which the reasons seemed to change every year. This year however Dale hasn't really been himself since Joseph was murdered by the demon Cyrus two weeks prior. Hank hadn't seen much of Dale since that night, but he acted the same way when Peggy had died. What puzzled Hank was why hasn't Dale attempted to seek revenge against Bobby, who Dale has decided was responsible for Joseph's death. Luckily this wouldn't affect Thanksgiving for Dale and Nancy had been invited to spend the holiday in Arlen Heights at Mayor Min's house. Hank couldn't believe how much has changed. Last year had been though for Peggy had passed away not too long before the holiday. This year Bill had been turned into a vampire then mysteriously vanished and now Dale was speeding Thanksgiving with the mayor.
"Well, both planes should be landing any moment." Hank stated as he looked at his watch
"Hopefully, I hate to be stuck at this airport over Thanksgiving, again." Bobby said
Hank chuckled; "Yeah, that was crazy."
"I remember mom whipped up an Apple Brown Betty from leftover pizza crust."
They continued to reminisce about that strange Thanksgiving, from Dale locking himself out in the cold to Bill pretending to have an uncle whose name he kept changing. Twenty minutes later they announced that the flight from Phoenix was arriving followed shortly by another announced that the flight from Nashville had landed. The two Hills split up and headed towards a different gate. Hank arrived at the gate just as his mom walked through the gate.
"MOM!" Hank shouted
Tilly looked then smiled as her son approached.
"Hello, son," Tilly greeted, "I hope you weren't waiting long."
"It was no trouble." Hank said as he reached down and grabbed one of her the carry-on bags
"Was your flight okay?"
"It was fine, I would've preferred to drove the RV here, would've been cheaper." Tilly stated
"I know, but like you told me last week it's engine caught on fire."
"Important thing is that I'm here now."
"Well, Bobby is waiting for a friend of his on the other side of the terminal," Hank said, "so we better get going."
Bobby was at the gate watching people depart for the plane. He was starting to think he was at the wrong gate when a familiar face appeared.
"Bobby."
Bobby smiled as Sarah Argentina walked up to him then hugged him.
"Enjoy your flight?" Bobby asked
"Well it beats running here," Sarah joked, "anyways, how's your girlfriend?"
"What, girlfriend?"
"Jade, you know, my height, reddish black hair, lovely green eyes, cute accent, ring a bell?"
"She's not my girlfriend." Bobby corrected.
"Geez, I'm just messing with you, I knew you two just started patching things up."
Bobby rolled his eyes as he helped Sarah with her things, they when headed towards baggage claims to get the rest.
"So, from our chats online, I understand things in Arlen are intense." Sarah said
"Especially with our new anti-monster mayor to Mr. Gribble and his idiotic Ratters," Bobby informed, "I was actually a little scared for you to come visit."
"Well, the mayor of Newfane reserved the entire restaurant my Aunt Sharon and Uncle Connor own," Sarah said, "meaning they'll be there all Thanksgiving instead of spending time with me."
"I'm glad they trust us with you."
"After everything you and your dad did for me last year, why wouldn't they?"
"Have you told them you're a werewolf?"
"Yeah, two months after I got there, I told them everything, expect I didn't say anything about you."
Bobby was glad to hear that Sarah had kept his secret, the only people in Arlen who knew she was werewolf, were him, his dad, and Berry. He wanted to tell Jade and Cameron, while he promised Jade no more secrets, he was sure she would understand that it wasn't his secret to tell.
They arrived at baggage claim at the same time as his dad and grandma. After they all greeted each other, and Sarah introduced herself to Tilly they all helped in grabbing the luggage as it appeared. Once the luggage was gathered up, they all headed out of the airport. Bobby, Sarah, and Tilly were outside waiting for Hank as he went to get his truck. Tilly was about to ask Bobby something when someone ran up to them. It was a man with shaggy yet stylish blonde hair and blue eyes. As he got closer Bobby noticed he was wearing a Phoenix Suns jacket.
"Excuse me," He shouted getting their attention, "I believe you have my bag."
Bobby glanced down, he was indeed carrying the man's bag for it had the Phoenix Sun's logo on it.
"Sorry, sir." Bobby apologized as he handed the bag back to the man.
"Don't worry, I should've headed straight towards baggage claim instead of the gift shop." The man said
Bobby handed the bag back to the man who thanked him before heading on his way.
"How could've you think that bag was mine?" Sarah asked
"It was with your stuff," Bobby explained, "honest mistake."
"Same thing happened to my friend Delia once." Tilly said as she started sharing the story
Hank pulled up in his truck shortly after Tilly finished her story about her friend. He got and walked over to the other side to help his mother into the truck. Bobby and Sarah then helped Hank load and secur all their luggage in the truck bed. They all got into the truck which drove out of the airport. They were a few minutes into their drive back to Arlen when Hank looked in his rearview mirror at Sarah who was sitting behind his mother.
"So, Sarah, how is everything in Newfane?" Hank asked
"Great, my aunt and uncle are wonderful, I love my new school, and I made a few friends." Sarah replied
"I'm glad to hear everything has become better for you since last year."
"Thanks, and speaking of things getting better, Bobby told me you're dating his friend Cameron's mother."
"Oh, yes, I'm looking forward to meeting Allison." Tilly added joining the conversation
Hank, whose face was turning red quickly changed the conversation.
(The Hill Residence: A few hours later)
Hank had parked his truck into the driveway and was helping his mother out of the truck. Allison and Cameron came out of the sliding door from the living room, they walked up right as Tilly had exited the truck. Hank took this moment to properly introduce the Garfields
"Mom, this is Allison Garfield and he daughter Cameron." Hank said
"It's finally nice to meet you, Mrs. Hill." Allison greeted
"Please, call me Tilly." Tilly insisted
"It's nice to meet you, Tilly."
Tilly then greeted Cameron, who then went over to Bobby and Sarah.
"Good to see you again." Cameron greeted before she gave Sarah a quick hug
"Same here." Sarah agreed returning the hug
Everyone helped unload the luggage from the back of the truck after all the greetings were done. They carried everything into the house and set them down in the living room. Hank then explained the temporary sleeping arrangements; Allison and Cameron were still going to stay in the den while Bobby was going to sleep in Hank's room for Tilly and Sarah was going to stay in his bedroom. Tilly questioned Hank on why Allison wasn't staying in his room with him; a red-faced Hank quickly brushed off this question by saying that he was going to check the water heater. Bobby helped his grandma carry her stuff to his room while Cameron helped with Sarah's. Half hour Sarah had unfinished packing and was now hanging out with Bobby and Cameron in the living room while the adults were in the kitchen.
"I'm surprised Berry and Jade didn't come help." Sarah pointed out from her spot on the couch
"Well, Berry's family is in town, so we won't see him until tomorrow," Bobby who was in his dad's chair explained, "As for Jade, she's with her family visiting relatives back in Louisiana."
"That's right, you told me Jade's dad woke up from his comma."
The three continued to talk as the scene switches to the inside of a mansion. There was dust covering almost every surface in the vast dim living room where the only source of light came from sun peeking through the curtains that covered the large windows. It was obvious that this place has been long abandoned by its owner, however there was in fact someone there for standing in the middle of the living room was a woman with long light brown hair. The woman was Artemis, Greek Goddess of the Hunt and a friend of the late Circe, the previous owner of the empty mansion. She wondered around through all the empty rooms on both floors until she reached a certain door. Artemis slowly opened it then entered. It was Circe's office where Artemis noticed a large hole patched up by several wooden boards.
"Weird that you wanted to come back here." Someone said startling her
Artemis pulled out a knife from her jacket then quickly turned around and threw it. The knife embedded itself in the wood of the unopened door which was pulled out by the mysterious person.
"Seriously sis, how could the Goddess of the Hunt have bad aim?" the man mocked
Artemis glared that the person who was the same man whose bag Bobby accidently took at the airport.
"Bite me, Apollo." Artemis shouted revealing the man's identity, "it's been centuries okay."
"You restored our powers months ago," Apollo stated as he returned the knife to his sister, "we also restored the godhood to some of our friends, so why are we here?"
Artemis reached into her pocket where she pulled out what appeared to be a clipping from a newspaper. She handed to her brother who held it up to his eyes, the clipping was article about the abduction of a woman named Allison Garfield, but it was the picture that got his attention.
"We're here to avenge Circe by killing the Arlen Werewolf."
Not only is Sarah is back, but Artemis has returned and accompanied by her brother Apollo. Hopefully this situation can be handled before the Thanksgiving turkey is carved. P.S The return of both Sarah Argentina and Artemis were two things i wanted in this season, but couldn't think of any ideas on how to incorporate them into the story. Then I recalled that King of the Hill had several Thanksgiving episodes. Thus granting a perfect opportunity to bring these characters back. Stay Tuned
