Chapter 28: Save Me Brother
Flashback
"What is happening over there?" Jacqueline asked Tatia, making her look at the direction Jacqueline was looking. Both the girls were at Aayana's place since that afternoon and they were returning home together as it was already getting dark outside. On their way home Jacqueline noticed a house where people were gathering and it seemed very crowded as well. It made her curious immediately therefore she inquired about it to Tatia.
"It is Claudia's wedding today" replied Tatia that cleared all the confusion for Jacqueline.
"That is a marriage ceremony" stated Jacqueline more to herself than to Tatia. They remained quiet for a moment and just watched the crowd involved in various activities within the perimeters of the household.
"My family got invited as well but we are not going" said Tatia that made Jacqueline look at her and frown in wonderment.
"Why not?" asked Jacqueline out of curiosity.
"They are not in good terms with the Mikaelson family and my family will not do anything to offend the Mikaelsons. Going to that wedding ceremony would simply do that" explained Tatia and Jacqueline nodded in understanding. That's why the Mikaelson family didn't even receive an invitation for this marriage ceremony. Jacqueline wondered why the girl Claudia's family wasn't in good terms with the Mikaelsons. Something must have happened.
"What is the trouble between the two families?" Jacqueline asked showing quite the interest.
"I do not know for sure but I heard that Kol had done... something... you know... indiscriminate with Claudia. Her brother Dean was used to like Rebekah and even wanted to propose her for marriage." Tatia's answer reminded Jacqueline of the incident immediately. She heard about it from Rebekah the very first day of her arrival in the past and it's only been a while now. Jacqueline shook her head to herself inwardly. She thought about leaving but then suddenly Jacqueline decided to go to the wedding and see how people get married in the 10th century.
"I wish to attend this ceremony" announced Jacqueline that troubled Tatia very much.
"No, you can not. You were not even invited" said Tatia with worried and horrified tone of voice. Jacqueline really wanted to say to her 'ever heard about crashing?' but kept herself from saying such modern aged thing and simply started to walk towards the house where the marriage was taking place. Tatia didn't know what she should do. Leaving Jacqueline and go home would have been a smart thing to do but Tatia felt responsible. After all Jacqueline was a guest of the Mikaelson family. After contemplating a bit Tatia started to walk after her. She just prayed that they wouldn't get into any problem.
"You do not need to accompany me Tatia. You can go home if you want" said Jacqueline as she realized that Tatia is going to go with her but didn't really want to.
"I would rather accompany you than go home and worry about what must have happened with you" said Tatia and they both entered the wedding house. People were chatting away with each other and generally having a good time. Jacqueline was looking around and watching everything with fascination. How many people from the modern age could have the opportunity to witness a 10th century marriage ceremony? Jacqueline looked at it as a great experience of life. Tatia however was looking very tensed up and didn't enjoying the festive environment a bit. Well for obvious reasons of course. What if they get caught?
"That must be the groom" said Jacqueline as she noticed a young man surrounded by people. He was being treated with special care which pointed him out as the groom very easily. Besides, he was wearing the most nice looking clothes among the other people. Speaking of clothes Jacqueline still needed to get used to their dresses especially wearing them herself.
"His family is quite wealthy, not as much as the Mikaelson family though" informed Tatia. It seemed to Jacqueline that at this century the only thing that people cared about is how wealthy a family is and nothing else. It kind of bothered her to not limit but what could she possibly do about it.
"Where is the bride?" asked Jacqueline completely avoiding Tatia's earlier comment.
"She can not come outside until it is time to perform the ritual. You did not know this?" Tatia asked while looking at Jacqueline with a frown of confusion on her face because obviously Jacqueline at her age was supposed to know everything about wedding customs. It is impossible for her not to know. Only if Tatia knew why Jacqueline was so clueless about certain things that everyone knew about. Jacqueline felt troubled for a moment.
"Of course I know that. I just thought that the marriage customs might be different in this village." Jacqueline gave a quick reply and thankfully Tatia accepted the excuse without suspecting anything. It made Jacqueline sigh out in relief inwardly. Soon the actual ritual of the ceremony started. The bride came outside with slow steps. The girl was looking very nervous and she had her gaze lowered as well. Her sisters were walking with her while the mother was holding the girl's hand. The groom was already standing with his family at the platform where the ritual would take place within moments. Jacqueline was watching everything with serious interest and curiosity. The bride's father approached the crowd and took away his daughter from the rest of the family. He walked his daughter to the groom with steady steps. Even though they all looked happy but still there was a sign of sadness on the faces of the bride's family members. Then the father gave his daughter's hand in the groom's hand. Jacqueline watched a woman coming forward and handing the groom a wedding ring. The groom then put the ring on the bride's finger and everyone clapped.
"It's not so different than how it is in my time" said Jacqueline accidentally thankfully Tatia didn't hear that clearly.
"Did you say anything?" Tatia asked but Jacqueline shook her head immediately. She bit onto her tongue in her mouth for slipping up like that. The rest of the ritual went differently though. The bride's father and the groom's father were handed goblets filled with wine. The clicked their goblets and poured a little wine on the ground before they drank the liquor. Some articles such as clothes, food, fruits, jewelries and many other things were given to the groom's father as dowry.
"I hope my wedding would be very especial" said Tatia more to herself than to Jacqueline with a dreamy tone of voice.
"I am sure it will be" said Jacqueline giving Tatia a side glance. It was time for the vows. The bride and the groom was getting ready. They were still holding hands. Saying the vows would be the end of the ritual and after that everyone would enjoy the feast.
"You must wish the same" stated Tatia with assured tone of voice. Honestly Jacqueline never thought about getting married before. And she doubted the possibility of marriage ever happening in her life. But if it ever happens, then yes Jacqueline would want it to be very especial too. And by especial Jacqueline meant it to be very heart touching and not just a huge party or wearing expensive dresses and shoes. Actually she wished none of those things. It's the realization that matters that someone is always going to be with her and she is someone's forever.
"Yes, I do" said Jacqueline softly as she watched the groom kissing his newly wedded bride. Jacqueline couldn't help but wonder how it must feel to be a wife. How would becoming one affect her life? Jacqueline didn't know it back then that one day, she would get to be someone's wife as well.
End Of Flashback
Kol was sleeping peacefully while holding me very close to him. Even though asleep his arms around me showed certain amount of possessiveness and protectiveness. I had fallen asleep too but for some reason I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep again. Maybe the fact that I proposed Kol for marriage last night was the reason behind my lack of sleep. Kol was obviously beyond happy. His love for me became stronger after my proposal. However I was feeling weird though. I am not saying that I was regretting what I did but marriage was something I never took seriously. But none of my previous perception about marriage mattered anymore. I will give birth to a baby within several months now. It would be better if I am a wife at the time of the birth and not just Kol's girlfriend.
I looked at Kol and a sigh of contentment escaped my breath. He was looking so beautiful at the time. It was already dawn outside. The darkness of the night no longer existed. The serene light complemented Kol perfectly. His features were looking striking and altogether the sight of him sleeping peacefully was purely scenic. And the fact that he was sleeping peacefully because I was in his arms, made everything more heart melting for me. Carefully I shifted a little so that I could wrap my arms around Kol and hold him close to me as well. Kol snuggled up closer to me in his sleep and made himself comfortable in my arms. I ran my hand through his hair once, pushing his front bangs backwards before planting a soft kiss on his forehead. I enjoyed loving Kol like that. Simply loving him and caring about him and of course showing him affection. Kol moaned a little with pleasure because of what I was doing to him. I knew he wasn't in deep slumber that moment. Kol was never a deep sleeper in the first place. Even when he was a human. I must be disturbing his sleep but I couldn't help but love Kol that moment. I lightly brushed the back of my fingers against his cheek. His skin was so soft and smooth. Kol was simply flawless when it comes to looks. I couldn't help but simply keep staring at him.
"You do know when you stare at me like that, it does something to me, don't you love?" Came Kol's sleepy voice that made a smile spread across my lips.
"Yes, I do know that." I admitted without any hesitation. Kol smirked hearing my reply. He finally opened up his eyes and looked straight at me. Kol came closer to my lips and planted a soft kiss on them before asking a question with serious tone of voice.
"Why are you up so early? Is something wrong?" He was obviously concerned for me and I simply adored that. I shook my head in reply to Kol.
"I am fine Kol, don't worry. Go back to sleep." I said but I knew Kol wouldn't go back to sleep when I'm wide awake.
"I would rather give you company" said Kol just like I expected. We both were looking into each others eyes that moment. The silence was very comfortable but Kol spoke up and vanquished the silence in the process.
"You are not having second thoughts about marrying me, are you?" asked Kol with certain amount of insecurity in his voice. I gave Kol a look before asking.
"Now why would you think that? I wasn't drunk last night when I proposed you, was I?" I used my matter of fact tone of voice.
"I never thought you would think about marriage and honestly I still can't believe you actually asked me to marry you" admitted Kol truthfully that made me sigh out a little.
"I admit that it's not like I have been thinking about getting married for a while now. The thought kind of came to me in the spur of the moment. But I have made my decision already and I am not gonna change my mind about this. Because this is the most right decision I have ever made Kol. Imagine what would have happened if we were back in the 10th century. I would be banished from the land by now or worse, killed for having a baby out of wedlock. Then there is Katherine, who had a child out of wedlock. She never got a chance to hold the baby in her arms, even for once. I know that nothing like that would happen to me but we can't deny the fact that the time you are from, the century this baby is from, in that age people considered having a child without marriage, highly disgraceful and an unforgivable sin. If I was still in the past and not marry you, then this baby would have been marked as a bastard child his entire life. So even though this is 21st century, I would still like to follow the traditional rules of your time." I finished talking and for a moment we just stared at each other.
"I don't know how it's possible but I love you more with every passing seconds" said Kol as he captured my lips with his and gave me a strong but love filled kiss. We would have continued kissing each other but I suddenly felt the baby move inside my womb. Though it didn't hurt but the movement certainly distracted me from the kiss. My hand immediately went over to my stomach. Kol gave me a worried look.
"What happened?" Kol asked with anxious tone of voice however I smiled at him.
"I guess the baby is happy with the decision of our getting married." I said and laughed a little. Kol put his hand over mine as he looked at my abdomen with adoration in his eyes. My stomach looked a little more grown to me than yesterday however the change was very insignificant.
"What do you think the baby will be, a girl or a boy?" Kol asked looking back at my face.
"Umm…. I don't know what it would be but I hope the baby is a boy." I said and I indeed wanted the baby to be a boy, for the baby's sake and for a few certain reasons. Kol however didn't look very pleased with what I said.
"Are you sure you want a boy? I think the baby should be a girl. We never had a baby girl in our family after Rebekah" said Kol and it was clear that he wanted a daughter rather than a son.
"Exactly my point, I mean look at Rebekah. She never got a chance to have a real long lasting love life because of yours and Nik's protectiveness. If this baby is a girl, I can clearly imagine all her lovers magically ending up dead." Kol snorted darkly as I said that.
"You got that right. I would definitely kill anyone who would dare to look at my daughter" said Kol with proud tone of voice that made me scowl at him immediately.
"All the more reason the baby needs to be a boy." I deadpanned but Kol argued back.
"No, it has to be a girl. They are more fun to spoil" said Kol smirking at the thought of spoiling our imaginary daughter. I frowned at him angrily this time.
"No, no one is spoiling anyone. And we are going to have a son." I stated at once even though I wasn't sure what the baby would be. I wanted to end the argument there but Kol continued.
"Daughter" said Kol stubbornly.
"Son." I said firmly. Kol looked at me with a straight face. I also gave him a look. But then I thought, having a daughter wouldn't be so bad either. She would be the most beautiful girl in this world. Wait, why am I suddenly wishing the baby to be a girl? Damn the sire bond.
"I wish we were still back in the 10th century. We wouldn't be having this argument right now, if this wasn't a one time thing. We could have easily had dozens of children back then" said Kol thoughtfully that made me glare at him instantly.
"I am not commenting on that." I said and decided to move onto the next topic that I had in my mind. "When would you have proposed me if I hadn't asked you to marry me last night?" I asked and I was really interested in the answer. Kol thought about it for a moment and replied honestly.
"Never." Kol stated at once which kind of shocked me and I frowned at him immediately.
"What? Why?" I asked really having no clue about why Kol would have never asked me to marry him.
"What do you mean why? Have you forgot the number of times you rejected me back in the past. I sure as hell wasn't up for rejection again in the 21st century" said Kol with casual tone of voice however I was gaping at him.
"So let me get this straight, you would have never asked me to marry you, just so that you wouldn't get rejected again. Wow." I said and rolled my eyes to myself.
"Hey a guy got to maintain his self esteem" stated Kol as if that's the most obvious reason.
"Yes, I rejected your proposal of marriage back in the past because the circumstances were less than optimal that time. But why would I have rejected you now? I am carrying your child for heaven's sake." I said and shook my head to myself.
"Well you are not exactly the most predictable woman in this world Jacqueline. Most of the time I have no idea what you would do." Kol stated truthfully and our heated conversation continued like that. However in the back of my mind, I wondered how people would react to the news of Kol and I getting married. Not that it would matter to us but still, I hoped everyone would be supportive of this decision. And I really don't think anyone would object to this. I was pregnant after all. Perhaps, Damon would object. No, he wouldn't either. Well I certainly hoped that he wouldn't and I really hoped that Damon has already let go of me. It should relieve him from all the pain and agony. I knew Damon would have his happy ending too, just not with me but with someone better than me.
Third Person's POV
The Abandoned Barn
A hybrid named Adrian was chained up as Hayley, Tyler and Kimberley were all standing nearby. They were watching as he transformed into a wolf or tried to. Adrian screamed in pain.
"Please, no more, I can't." The hybrid shouted.
"Yes, you can. Block out the pain" commanded Tyler. Adrian continued to scream in pain until Kimberley spoke up and made her way over to Adrian.
"That's enough. This is torture" said the female hybrid.
"Kim, stop. He needs to finish." Hayley tried to stop the hybrid but failed.
"Not today, he doesn't" said Kimberly as she unchained Adrian.
"Yes, today. We can't let Adrian anywhere near Klaus until his sire bond is completely broken. Otherwise he could put us all in danger. One question from Klaus and he would be blabbering out our secret to him and we will all end up dead." Hayley tried to reason with the hybrids. She needed to deliver twelve hybrids to professor Shane but she only had eleven excluding Tyler. Only one hybrid was standing in the way of Hayley and the information about her parents.
"Hayley is right. The bond isn't broken until he doesn't feel the pain of transformation anymore. If you want freedom from Klaus then Adrian has to keep turning" said Tyler siding with Hayley.
"He doesn't have to do anything" said Kimberly. "Isn't that the point of breaking the sire bond - free will?" Hayley and Tyler exchange a look as the female hybrid said that. They had nothing to say against that because she got a point after all.
"Let's go Adrian" saying that Kimberley and Adrian left the barn together leaving Tyler and Hayley behind. This turn of event certainly increased Hayley's problems but she wasn't going to back away, not now when she was so close to her goal.
The Boarding House
Elena was standing in the middle of the living room of the Boarding house. Dead bodies of girls were scattered around the place. She was looking at them with wide eyes and open mouth. Stefan was standing right beside her. He looked a bit uncomfortable even though the dead bodies weren't his doing.
"Stefan, this is a disaster" said Elena when she could finally talk.
"I know. Damon is completely ruthless right now. All he wants is blood" said Stefan as he glanced at the dead bodies himself. Since Damon turned off his humanity switch, he has become something monstrous. Something unleashed in him that was hidden for a long time. Damon seemed worse this time than before when he claimed to have no feelings or emotions. Apart from having his humanity gone, something else was wrong with Damon as well.
"Where is he now?" Elena asked wondering about Damon. Surely Stefan must have done something to stop him from killing more people.
"Upstairs, sleeping. He drank all the liquor in the house" informed Stefan and Elena nodded to that. However the truth was Stefan broke Damon's neck to stop him from being so recklessly crazy.
"What you are going to do when he wakes up again?" asked Elena worriedly. Stefan sighed out heavily.
"Honestly Elena, I don't know. Thankfully Lexi is in town right now. Hopefully she would be able to help." Stefan really hoped that because he had no idea what to do with Damon at this point. Lexi is good with problems such as this. She must know how to handle the situation properly.
"You shouldn't have told Damon about the pregnancy" said Elena sighing out a little even though she knew Damon would have found out about that sooner or later.
"I told him because I wanted Damon to get over Jacq and let her go. I never thought he would let go of his humanity as well" said Stefan truthfully and Elena nodded in understanding. There was no point regretting what already happened. They needed to focus on what they are going to do to solve this problem. Elena realizing the time, and decided to leave as she had to go to school.
"I am getting late for school" said Elena to Stefan who wouldn't be joining her today in the history class. Stefan nodded and decided to walk her up to the door. Elena turned around to face Stefan while they were walking towards the door.
"Are you going to be alright Stefan? I should stay with you right now and not attend classes."
"No, that's exactly what you should do, attend classes. I will be fine. I promise" said Stefan but Elena wasn't convinced that much but she didn't say anything and just kissed Stefan passionately. Stefan kissed her back for a while before pulling away.
"Don't tell anyone about Damon yet."
"Why?" asked Elena with a frown of confusion on her face.
"Because I don't want Jacq to hear about this and feel guilty. She shouldn't get into this mess or even learn about it." Elena agreed with Stefan on this immediately and decided to keep Damon's emotionless state a secret from everyone. At least for the time being.
"You would let me know if you need me anytime for anything" said Elena and Stefan nodded to her.
"I will, take care of yourself." Stefan kissed Elena softly on her lips before opening the door to let herself out. They came face to face with Lexi right away.
"Lexi, hey" said Elena looking at the blonde vampire. She gave her a smile that Lexi returned immediately.
"Elena, I was looking forward to meet you again" said Lexi as she entered the house but turned to look at Elena again.
"I am sorry, I have to leave right now but we will definitely catch up later" said Elena and Lexi made a notion with her hand that said, 'don't bother apologizing and it's completely alright'.
"That sounds great" said Lexi giving Elena a polite smile. Soon Elena left and Stefan breathed out heavily. He suddenly looked more troubled, now that Elena wasn't around. Obviously Stefan was trying to look calm and collected in front of Elena so that she wouldn't worry too much about him. But he didn't need to pretend in front of Lexi as she knew exactly what he was going through at the moment. Stefan walked back inside the living room as Lexi followed him. He would soon need to bury these bodies and who knows how many people are yet to die at Damon's hands. Stefan needed to stop him but how. He knows that the only way to stop all these killings is to get Damon turn his humanity switch on again but how could he possibly achieve that.
"I don't know what to do Lexi" said Stefan without turning to look at the other vampire. "I don't know what to do to save Damon from destroying himself."
"Don't worry yourself too much Stefan. We will figure something out" said Lexi with optimistic tone of voice.
"Lexi, we both know how stubborn Damon could be at times. He would never want to turn on his humanity in fear of feeling all the pain again. It's almost next to impossible this time to get him to stop." Stefan stated as he ran a hand through his hair with frustration.
"If you think that you can't handle him Stefan, then let him go" said Lexi selfishly. It was no secret that Stefan was her favorite Salvatore brother and she wants him safe more than she wanted Damon to be out of trouble.
"He is my brother Lexi. I can't turn my back on him like that" stated Stefan firmly and then he whispered to himself. "I need to do the right thing for him."
"Damon would have done the same for me" said Stefan to Lexi to which the blonde vampire just nodded her head without any argument.
"Yes, he would have."
Flashback
New Orleans 1942
At the train station, Damon stepped out of a taxi in full uniform. He was ready to go to war with his brother. He entered the train station and placed his luggage on a cart.
"Damon" called a female voice. Damon looked up and found Lexi standing there.
"I know what you did and you're not going overseas with Stefan. Do you understand me?" Lexi stated firmly.
"Well, Uncle Sam begs to differ" said Damon sarcastically.
"You just killed 12 innocent people" said Lexi knowing it to be true. Damon walked towards her.
"How do you know they didn't have it coming?" asked Damon without feeling any remorse or hesitation to admit that he indeed killed people.
"Your brother has spent the last 20 years racked with guilt, fighting the temptation to drink human blood. He's serving in war as penance for the pain that he has caused. If he finds out what you did, he'll want to know how it is you function without guilt for the things that you do. He'll turn to you for guidance like he did before and he'll become the Ripper of Monterrey all over again" said Lexi with calm tone of voice yet she sounded quite strong.
"I've pretty much been on my own since our little falling out in 1912. Did you ever think that I just need my little brother?" asked Damon through gritting teeth.
"And that's why you can't go. It might be good for you, Damon. But it will destroy Stefan" said Lexi in a matter of fact tone. She looked out of the station at Stefan.
"For once, you need to put someone else in front of yourself." Damon looked at Stefan too who seemed to be searching the crowd for Damon.
"You need to let him go" stated Lexi. Damon walked away from the older vampire who was still watching him. Damon looked at Stefan again with a sad look upon his face. He already made his decision. He was going to do the right thing for his brother.
"Good luck, Brother." Damon picked up his luggage and left.
End Of Flashback
"Why you never told me this before?" Stefan asked Lexi with disbelieve in his voice. His brother sacrificed his own happiness and Stefan didn't even know about it until now. Damon always needed his brother but he kept himself away from Stefan for a very long time just so that Stefan could live peacefully and without getting into any problem. After learning about this truth, Stefan felt selfish. He was too lost within himself to ever realize that his brother must be feeling lonely without him. That he must need his support and comfort. Damon was never the one to express his feelings openly but as his brother, Stefan should have understood him more properly.
"I thought you were better off without him that time Stefan and I apologize to you for that" said Lexi as she took in a deep breath. "And you are right Stefan. You shouldn't turn your back on Damon. You are probably the only one who could save him this time."
"Thanks for telling me about what Damon did for me" said Stefan looking at Lexi without any accusation in his gaze. "It certainly gave me the determination that I needed in me."
Jacqueline's POV
The atmosphere in the Mikaelson mansion was very festive at the time. Right after Kol and I announced that we've decided to get married, everyone jumped into arrangements for an exclusive and luxurious wedding ceremony. I tried to convince them to keep the event simple and not so loud but who was I kidding with. It was a Mikaelson family wedding after all. Finn and Sage would have had a grand wedding as well if the circumstances were less problematic at that time. With Esther trying to kill all her children and Markus on our backs, arranging a wedding ceremony was the last thing everyone would have wanted to do. However at the time being, nothing horrible was going on in our lives and everyone was looking forward to a grand wedding. I was sitting on the couch and an unnamed stylist was doing my nails.
"Rebekah, could you please call Caroline and ask her to come over here along with Bonnie and Elena. I think we should have a girls' night tonight." I said to Rebekah who was sitting across from me. I wasn't sure if everyone had already heard about the news of my getting married yet. They probably did. I wondered what their reaction must have been. Rebekah quickly made a call and asked Caroline to come over to the mansion.
"Have you heard, Nik is throwing a bachelor party for Kol tonight." Rebekah informed me but I had already heard about that.
"I wonder how many girls would get lucky tonight." I said that more to myself than to Rebekah. I did feel jealous at the thought of Kol touching another girl but I wasn't going to act on it. Besides, I had a feeling that Kol wouldn't be able to even kiss a girl who isn't me. But I could be wrong. He is a man after all. However I did hope that Kol would keep his hands to himself in the party.
"Is my sister in law worried about her husband's indiscretion?" asked Nik with mirthful voice as he entered the room. Kol was right behind him. "Don't worry I will keep my little brother in check tonight" said Nik with a smirk on his lips.
"Mmm-Hmm." Obviously I wasn't convinced. Rebekah couldn't help but smirk as I gave both the brothers a judgmental look.
"You look sexy when you are jealous darling" said Kol as he walked over to me and dropped himself right beside me. Before I knew it Kol had his arms wrapped around me as he engaged me in a tight embrace. I immediately removed his arms from my body and tried to push him away.
"Kol, behave yourself." I got further away from Kol while chiding him. "I said no touching before wedding night and you promised to oblige." Unhappily Kol got away from me. A heavy sigh escaped his breath as well.
"Is he serving detention or something?" asked Rebekah with curiosity.
"No, I am just making sure that our wedding night would be something especial and not just another night. And a few days of separation would do the work just fine." I explained to Rebekah who couldn't help but smirk when she looked at Kol.
"Well that certainly explains the hanging face of my brother" said Rebekah and received a glare from Kol immediately. Right then Elijah entered the room and joined the conversation.
"I've already talked to the witch. The wedding would take place on the next full moon which is two days away from today" informed Elijah and I immediately frown in confusion.
"Why a witch is going to be involved Elijah?" I asked as I realized the reason right away. "This is not going to be a normal wedding, is it?"
"Nope" came from Kol who had a mysterious gleam in his eyes. I scowled at him in wonderment.
"What are you guys planning on doing exactly?" I asked with serious curiosity.
"Well that's going to be a surprise for you love" said Kol and that's the only thing that I got out of him.
"Where is Finn? We should start get going" said Nik. They didn't tell anyone where they were going for the bachelor party. But I guessed it would be a very posh place.
"Finn is going with you" said Elijah which sounded more like a question and he looked a bit surprised as well. Clearly Elijah didn't expect Finn to go along with Klaus and Kol.
"Yes, he is and so are you" said Klaus at once. Elijah gave him a look before saying-
"Thanks for the offer but I have better things to do then getting drunk." Which indirectly meant that he wasn't going to join them. Both Klaus and Kol were about to argue with Elijah when I spoke up.
"Elijah, it won't hurt if you allow yourself to have fun once in a while." I said and waited for Elijah to say something against it but he didn't. "You are going with your brothers and that's final." I stated firmly. Elijah sighed out a little before saying-
"I guess one day wouldn't cause any harm." Elijah said smirking and everyone's face lit up immediately. "I must get changed then" saying that Elijah left to go to his room.
My eyes met with Kol's who gave me a little nod that told me loudly how happy he was that I persuaded Elijah to go along with them. Now that I think about it, I have always been good at handling the Mikaelson brothers. It's like I have always been a part of this functional dysfunctional vampire family. I wondered if it would be different once I am actually married to Kol and officially become a part of this family. Would I feel more strongly for them and have more power over them? Well I guess my questions would be answered when the time comes.
Third Person's POV
The Boarding House
Damon snapped open his eyes as he woke up from the dead sleep. He remembered getting drunk and draining faceless girls and obviously in the process killing them once and for all. After that Damon remembered someone snapping his neck. That's what stopped him from going on more. It must be Stefan or his wench friend Lexi. Damon would have felt pissed off for getting his neck snapped but since he wasn't feeling anything he remained completely calm about it. Damon stepped into his bathtub and begin to have a nice and warm shower. He wasn't feeling anything but that didn't mean Damon wasn't thinking of doing creative activities. Once Damon finished with his shower, he dressed up in everything black. It made him look darker and intimidating at the same time. When Damon got downstairs he found Stefan and Lexi enjoying each others company as always. When they realized his presence there, both Stefan and Lexi grew alert. Their eyes were on Damon as Damon looked back at them with emotionless eyes.
"Are you planning on settling down here?" Damon asked as he made his way towards the drinking parlor. Everyone knew who that question was for.
"Not really. Why are you concerned?" Lexi asked with interest.
"Well if you are staying then we can always repeat what happened in New York in 1977. You must remember our time together vividly" said Damon with dark sarcasm in his voice as he drank a little. Lexi didn't hesitate to glare at him.
"I try not to remember" said Lexi bitterly as Stefan grew more uncomfortable at that moment.
"Ouch, was I that bad?" asked Damon with a smirk. "Although I remember you screaming my name and asking for more." Lexi glared at Damon more however it didn't affect him a bit. Damon then gracefully walked up to Lexi and stood very close to her. They were looking straight into each others eyes. Damon still had a smirk playing on his lips. Stefan however didn't feel right about what was happening in front of his eyes.
"But you know what was the best part for me" said Damon as he invaded Lexi's personal space. "The payment I gave you."
"Damon stop it" said Stefan but no one heard him. Lexi was getting more and more angry and Damon was trying everything to make her snap.
"That must have been a very hard day for you, burning in the sun, on the rooftop and realizing that you just got tricked and used..." Damon would have continued more but Lexi couldn't take it anymore. She snapped and pushed Damon up against the wall as she chocked him. Her fingers were wrapped around Damon's throat in a painful grip. Lexi opened her mouth to say something, probably some self-righteous platitudes however the only thing that came out of her mouth was a loud gasp. Lexi looked down with her teary eyes and found a wooden stake plunged inside her chest. Damon had it hidden in his jacket pocket. He was planning on killing the annoying and nagging vampire from the beginning. Shaking, Lexi stepped away from Damon. Her heart was pierced and she could feel nothing but pain throughout her body. Lexi saw darkness around her as she started to turn grey. In a blink of an eye Lexi dropped dead on the floor. Stefan was stunned with what just happened. He couldn't believe his own eyes. His long time best friend just got killed by his emotionless brother and he could do nothing about it. Tears started to gather in Stefan's eyes as he stared at Lexi's grey corpse.
"Don't be so shocked Stefan" said Damon with calm tone of voice as he looked at his brother who was shaking a little by then. "I was supposed to kill her a long time ago."
"Lexi." A painful whisper escaped Stefan's breath but Damon avoided that.
"Finally a right thing happened" said Damon more to himself than to Stefan. "I need a real drink" saying that Damon walked out of the boarding house. Stefan realized then exactly how hard it is going to be to handle Damon and moreover make him turn on his humanity switch back. It's almost next to impossible but Stefan wasn't ready to give up anytime soon.
The Mystic Grill
Malanie was sitting at a table at the Grill all alone. She was still heartbroken, not to mention confused as hell. All she could think about was if Kol was taken already then why she appeared in this world. What is her purpose here? Is she here to stop everyone from raising Silas? That's the only purpose left for her anyway. Thankfully Klaus asked Stefan to look after her and Stefan allowed her to roam around the town freely. Apparently he was too busy dealing with his brother who has recently turned off all his emotions. Malanie felt bad for Damon. But she would have turned off her feelings too if she could. Ever since she found out about Jacqueline being pregnant with Kol's child and that Kol is going to be a father soon, she constantly kept feeling a stringing pain in her heart. Why? Why is it Jacqueline? Why it wasn't her? Only if she was still with Damon. Then Damon would be living happily and she would be enjoying her time here with Kol. But nothing is going on right, at least not for Malanie.
"Hi!" A voice spoke up that made Malanie look up at the person. It was April Young. "May I sit here, everywhere else is full" said April. Malanie looked around and indeed everywhere else was full that time.
"Yeah, sure" said Malanie and April settled on the chair across from her.
"I am April." The girl introduced herself.
"Malanie." The wonder girl was definitely not in a good mood that moment.
"Are you new in this town? Sorry if I am being nosy. It's just I have never seen you around here before" said April truthfully however Malanie snorted.
"More like I am new into this world" said Malanie before she could stop herself. April gave her a weird look like expected. She obviously didn't know anything about supernatural world yet.
"Are you going to attend the school here?" asked April changing the previous topic deliberately.
"I don't think so" said Malanie. Who would let her go to school in this world? She already missed her old life. It was so simple and normal. Now everything was crazy and complicated. Not to mention she is heartbroken in this world.
"Did you win Miss Mystic Falls this year?" asked Malanie out of nowhere. April nodded to her question.
"Yeah, I did. I mean I wasn't going to win. Jacqueline was supposed to win this year but she bailed out before the winner announcement and the judges chose me instead" said April with casual tone of voice. She didn't really mind being a second choice. April was just happy that she won in the end. Malanie on the other hand sighed out heavily.
"I wish I could replace her too."
Jacqueline's POV
I was lying straight on the floor of the living room. Elena, Caroline, Bonnie and Rebekah were surrounding me. We were all in the Mikaelson mansion. I have agreed to let Bonnie do a little spell to determine the gender of the baby.
"It better be a baby girl" said Rebekah more to herself than to others. "This family really needs more girls in it."
"Your brother thinks the same." I said remembering the argument that Kol and I had in the beginning of the day.
"Kol wants a girl" stated Elena with raised eye brows.
"He sure does." I said as I sighed out loudly. Because of the sire bond I was now conflicted about what I wanted.
"What do you want?" asked Elena curiously.
"Well I want a baby boy but the sire bond is affecting my mind now. In the end though I will be happy just to have a healthy baby, girl or a boy, that doesn't matter." I said and Caroline spoke up immediately.
"Are you sure you are ready for marriage already Jacq? And it has nothing to do with the sire bond. I mean technically you are only seventeen. And it's not even legal for you to get married at this age" ranted Caroline. She did accept the fact that I was getting married with Kol but can't say she was very thrilled about the idea. Especially because I was still underage and shouldn't get married according to the law.
"Caroline, you can't judge her like that" said Bonnie giving Caroline a stern look.
"Since when vampires are bound by mortal laws and rules" said Rebekah with annoyed tone of voice as she rolled her eyes at Caroline. Even Elena gave her a disapproving look.
"Okay fine! I hereby vow, not to be judgmental about this wedding and be supportive throughout the event" said Caroline while rolling her eyes to herself.
"I will drink to that" said Elena and took a big gulp from her wine bottle. Everyone else but me was a bit drunk. I didn't touch alcohol for obvious reason.
"Let's get started with the spell, shall we?" said Bonnie as she put her hand on my abdomen. She chanted a few spells with her eyes closed. "We have to wait a few minutes." She announced.
"Where are you planning on going for your honeymoon?" asked Elena to start a new conversation.
"I am not sure if there is going to be a honeymoon in the first place let alone know about the location." I gave an honest answer to them.
"Of course you are going on a honeymoon Jacq. I'm sure Kol has planned something especial" said Rebekah with confidence in her voice.
"I have a strong feeling, Kol is going to take Jacq to an isolated island" said Caroline to which we all rolled our eyes.
"I am pretty sure my brother hasn't read the twilight saga" said Rebekah and we all laughed a little.
"Besides, he wouldn't get anyone to feed on in an isolated island and Kol hates blood bags. And since I feed from him, Kol needs to drink a lot of blood everyday." The mere thought of Kol's blood made my mouth water a little.
"Do you guys blood share on a regular basis?" Bonnie asked with curiosity.
"No, only I feed off him. Kol never drinks from me because of the pregnancy. He accidentally bit me couple of times but stopped himself before he could take blood from me." I explained to them without any hesitation.
"That's sweet of him" commented Elena.
"Be careful about blood sharing Jacq. You may create a blood bond again" warned Bonnie and I appreciated her concern but there was nothing to worry about really. I was going to say that when Caroline spoke up.
"Bonnie, she is already bonded with Kol every way possible. She is sired to him, pregnant with his child and soon going to be his wife. Even if they create a blood bond between them, I don't think it would have any huge impact in their relation" said Caroline and I couldn't help but agree with her.
"You definitely got a point Care." I said to her as Caroline looked pleased with herself.
"How long do we have to wait?" asked Rebekah impatiently.
"Just a moment" said Bonnie and she took off the pendant she was wearing around her neck. "Okay so if the locket spins in a circle clockwise it's a girl and if the locket spins anti clockwise then it's a boy" said Bonnie before closing her eyes and started chanting spells again. She was hanging the locket right above my womb. It was swinging a little from side to side. I had my eyes closed as well. I was counting on others to tell me about the baby. I was kind of feeling both excited and nervous. The only question I had in my mind that moment is, what is the baby? A beautiful baby girl or a handsome baby boy? I opened my eyes a little to look and found out that the pendant was just hanging above my stomach without doing any motion. Actually it was completely still that moment. I opened my eyes properly. Not only me but others looked confused as well.
"Shouldn't it start moving already?" asked Caroline with unsure tone of voice. Bonnie opened her eyes and looked at the locket. She looked confused as well and not to mention troubled too.
"Let me try again" said Bonnie and she murmured the spells again but nothing happened. The locket remained frozen.
"Bonnie, what's going on?" asked Elena that I wanted to ask myself.
"I don't know, I can feel the spell working but I don't know why it's not indicating anything" said Bonnie looking highly troubled and puzzled now. I was getting worried myself.
"What does this mean?" I asked with horror in my voice.
"It means Bonnie still sucks at doing magic" said Rebekah noticing my tensed up look. Bonnie was too worried to throw a glare at Rebekah that moment. She was completely baffled.
"I think you should give it another try" suggested Elena who looked puzzled too. Bonnie nodded and immediately started chanting the spells again. I was getting anxious with every passing moment. The locket still didn't move. Everyone looked at each other. No one could say anything due to being speechless. I felt like my brain was spinning in my skull.
"Are you girls thinking what I am thinking?" asked Caroline with low tone of voice. "I know it's rare but it happens. What if this child is of that kind, neither a girl nor completely a boy."
"Stop talking nonsense Care" snapped Elena. I didn't have the power to say anything. Suddenly I felt like throwing up. I rushed to the kitchen in vampire speed and emptied my stomach. This is not happening. This is not happening. Bonnie must not be strong enough to perform the spell properly. Yes, that has to be it. There is no way my baby is like that. Rebekah was right beside me in a moment. I was breathing in and out heavily. Actually I was shaking as well.
"Jacq, calm down. I am sure everything is fine with the baby" said Rebekah. Elena, Caroline and Bonnie came there too. They had troubled and sad expression over their faces. I tried to relax a bit.
"I am going to the hospital." I announced that made Rebekah tensed up immediately. "I should see a doctor."
"Jacq, doctors won't be able to tell you anything so early" said Rebekah hoping that I would drop the idea of going to the hospital.
"I need a doctor to do a regular check up on me, okay." I said with determination in my voice while thinking if Meredith is available at the hospital at this hour.
"Fine I am coming with you" said Rebekah and I simply nodded my head.
"Me too" said Bonnie.
"Caroline and I would join you girls later" said Elena and we all walked out of the mansion.
Third Person's POV
A Crowded Bar
The Mikaelson brothers were really having a good time. It's been a long time since they had a real brother bonding moment together. The blood, the booze and the babes, everything was making the environment inside the bar quite intoxicating. Even Elijah was having a good time. Kol was drunk, so was Klaus however Finn and Elijah were still in their right mind. The Mikaelson brothers were occupying a certain space in the bar and all the girls and quite a few boys were giving them lustful glances. Some girls were trying to look lucrative while staring straight at them. But unfortunately the brothers remained unaffected. Even Klaus who wasn't committed to anyone didn't pay attention to those girls because he would rather dance with a certain blonde beauty who lives in Mystic Falls than dance with random stranger girls.
"Didn't anyone catch your attention yet? They are all meal brother" said Klaus to Kol and received a disapproving glance from Elijah immediately. Kol roamed his eyes around the place again. How could he possibly pay attention to a stranger girl when all Kol could think about was Jacqueline, her soft lips, her sensitive touches on his body and her intoxicating scent. He shook his head a little to stop thinking about Jacqueline for a moment. Kol focused back on the crowd and spotted a girl with red stripes in her hair. The good thing was the girl was already looking at him and seemed very interested.
"I think I found one" said Kol and got up from the couch to walk over to the girl. Elijah sighed out heavily while Finn shook his head to himself. Klaus just smirked as he watched his little brother approaching the girl he would soon victimize. Klaus looked at a blonde girl who was standing near by.
"Love, I am thirsty." The girl immediately walked up to Klaus and gave him her wrist. She was obviously compelled. Klaus bit onto her wrist and started drinking her blood with immense pleasure. The girl seemed to be enjoying as well. On the other hand Kol stood right in front of the girl he picked. She had very pale skin and short shoulder length hair. The girl was wearing heavy make ups to make herself look more presentable to the male population.
"It's hard to believe a women of your caliber is sitting all alone at the bar. What's your name darling?" asked Kol with his British accent that makes girls swoon over him withing seconds. He talked while leaning close to the girl and smirking slightly as well. Her heart beat increased immediately and Kol smirked more.
"You have to earn my name. Dance with me" said the girl with confidence in her voice. Kol was amused for a moment. But then he thought why the hell does he need to know the girl's name anyway. She is just his food. Kol smirked at the girl and dragged her to the dance floor. The music was loud and almost everyone was drunk. The girl wrapped her arms around Kol's neck and started moving against him seductively. To be honest Kol felt highly uncomfortable. He even felt like pushing the girl away from him. The girl unknown of Kol's ultimate motive kept dirty dancing with him. Kol traveled his hands over her body even though he didn't enjoy doing that. Only if it was Jacqueline dancing with him right now.
Suddenly the girl stopped dancing. She batted her eye lashes at Kol and started walking away from him with a smile. The girl was practically screaming at Kol to follow her with her inviting eyes. She thought she was playing and winning against Kol. Only if the girl knew the truth. Only if she knew what she was getting herself into. The girl went straight outside of the bar through the back door. The place was completely deserted and not a single soul nearby. Kol had obviously followed her. That's what he had been looking forward to after all, a good feed. The girl turned around to face Kol who was still smirking at her, mostly at her idiocy. It was clear that the girl was desperate for a good fuck and Kol was one hell of a good looking guy.
"Are you just gonna stand over there?" asked the girl as she opened up the zipper of her jacket and revealed a sexy looking bra that she was wearing underneath. Kol had no intention of giving her the pleasure she was seeking from him. He was already drunk and he just wanted to drain her dry. Kol pushed her up against the wall that made the girl moan a little. Soon her moans would change into screams for sure. The girl put her hands against Kol's chest and torso and she tried to kiss him. But Kol stopped her immediately.
"I didn't say you could touch me love" said Kol but the girl instead of getting confused only smirked at him.
"Kinky much." She whispered in his ear seductively. "I like men with a wicked side."
"We will see" said Kol and he let his fangs come out. The girl's eyes went wide with fear this time.
"Do not scream." Kol compelled and the girl found herself unable to scream. Kol pierced her neck and started drinking from her. The girl struggled against his hold but it was a futile attempt of escaping Kol. However Kol did stop because suddenly he felt something piercing through his heart. A wooden stake. Before Kol could turn around to see the person who dared to drive a stake through his heart, he dropped dead on the ground. The girl gasped loudly. A blue eyed man was standing right in front of her. She was too shocked to say anything. This man just saved her life, she should at least thank him. But the girl couldn't speak a single word however she was giving the stranger grateful looks.
"No need to thank me love" said Damon and veins started appearing under his eyes. "Because I am just gonna finish what he started." And in a blink of an eye Damon bit onto the girl's neck and literary ripped her head off within moments.
The Mystic Grill
Kim and Adrian were playing pool at the table while Tyler and Hayley were sitting at another table watching them from distance.
"They are gonna get us both killed and we are just sitting here" said Hayley with angry undertone in her voice.
"Kim is right. The point of breaking the sire bond is being don't have to listen to me" said Tyler obviously not knowing why Hayley wanted Adrian un-sired so badly. Because if Adrian doesn't break the sire bond, Tyler would get in grave danger. And that's the last thing Hayley wanted.
"Yes they do, Ty. You can make them. Hybrids are werewolves first. Wolves run in packs and every pack needs an Alpha or they end up challenging each other for dominance. Kim is challenging your position as Alpha. You need to put her in her place. Now" explained Hayley and Tyler reluctantly nodded and went to the pool table. Adrian shot the cue ball at the black eight ball, but Tyler put his hand out and grabbed the ball before it could roll into the pocket. Adrian raised his head to look at Tyler.
"Long day tomorrow Adrian. You want it to go better than today, you need to get some rest." Hayley had gotten up from the table as well and watched Tyler from a little distance.
"Who do you think you are?" asked Kim in a challenging way.
"The guy telling you to call it a night" said Tyler coolly. Kim walked over to Tyler and they stared each other down. Kim grabbed a pool stick and tried to attack Tyler with it but Tyler grabbed the stick in time. By then they attracted a few people's attention to them. Malanie was looking at the fighting duo with fascination while Matt stared at Tyler with worried look on his face.
"This could get a lot uglier right now but I'm not gonna let it. Challenge me again, this conversation will end differently. You understand?" said Tyler threateningly. He didn't know why Kim was being so difficult. Tyler was just trying to help Adrian after all. Once he is free of the sire bond, Adrian could do whatever the hell he wanted.
"Fine. Whatever you say" said Kim bitterly.
"Finish your drink and get Adrian back to the stables. We'll meet you there" said Tyler as he pushed Kim back and walked away. Hayley stood there for a moment, glaring at Kim, then she followed Tyler out of the Grill as well. After they have gone, Kim started to walk away from the table too. Adrian followed her with a confused look on his face.
"Where are we going?" asked Adrian with wondering tone of voice.
"To pick a fight" replied Kim before she left. Adrian reluctantly followed Kim out of the Grill. Matt and Malanie were standing next to each other. They were actually talking with each other a while ago before they got interrupted by Tyler and Kimberly. Malanie sighed out heavily before saying.
"Things are about to get more nasty now." Malanie said that more to herself than to Matt but obviously Matt heard that and got immediately curious and worried.
"Why did you say that?" asked Matt with concern in his voice. Malanie looked at Matt then thought of something for a moment.
"No, I shouldn't say anything to anyone anymore. Otherwise, I would get blamed for messing up the situation once again" said Malanie with assured tone of voice. However Matt wasn't going to give up easily.
"Please Malanie tell me what is it? I promise I won't let anything mess up and no one would blame you for anything." Matt had to plead some more before Malanie finally obliged with his request.
"Well according to the show, Kim and Adrian is now going to kidnap Caroline to get back at Tyler. They are going to torture her but Tyler and Elena managed to handle the situation in the end. It's actually all Hayley's fault. She is out and out a selfish bitch" said Malanie without thinking much before talking. Matt however got more interested and wanted to know more.
"What did she do?" asked Matt trying not to sound too curious.
"The only reason she is breaking the sire bonds of those hybrids is because she is in a deal with Professor Shane. In the show she delivered him twelve unsired hybrids who got sacrificed in the end. Professor Shane promised to give Hayley information about her real parents. That's what it's all about, at least for her. When Klaus found out twelve of his hybrids weren't sired to him anymore, he killed them all. And he killed Carol Lockwood as well." That shocked Matt to no limit.
"Did he kill Tyler too?" asked Matt fearfully about Klaus.
"No, but he chased Tyler away from Mystic Falls" said Malanie with casual tone of voice. Clearly she didn't really care about Tyler or Hayley or what happens to them. However Matt cared about Tyler and he knew what exactly he needed to do.
The Boarding House
"Stefan... Stefan..." called Elena. She and Caroline were at the boarding house. Elena needed to see Stefan before she goes to the hospital to be with Jacqueline. However Stefan seemed to be not in the house at the moment.
"I think he went out" said Caroline then she suddenly got worried.
"Do you think Damon did something to him?" asked Caroline with tensed up voice. Elena had to tell Caroline about Damon turning off his humanity.
"I hope not" said Elena however she didn't sound very confident about it.
"Let me give him a call" said Caroline as she speed dialed Stefan's number. The call was going but no one picked up. Suddenly both vampires heard the ring tone coming from nearby distance. Elena was positive it was Stefan's phone. Caroline and Elena followed the sound and it led them to the boarding house cellar. Elena looked inside the cellar through the door and gasped loudly. Inside Stefan was lying unconscious on the ground. He seemed to have his neck snapped. Elena opened the cellar door in vampire speed and rushed to Stefan immediately. Caroline was right on her tail. They both hovered over Stefan. There was a vervain dirt sticking in his neck as well. That's why Stefan was having trouble waking up. It was no secret that Stefan was weak as a vampire as he only drinks animal blood and with vervain in his system, Stefan was completely powerless at the moment. Caroline and Elena carried Stefan upstairs.
"Do you think Damon did this?" asked Caroline as Elena laid Stefan on the couch.
"Who else would do this?" said Elena sounding pretty pissed off. She bit onto her wrist and put it on Stefan's lips. The blood started to flow inside his mouth. Vampire blood should do the trick for Stefan at least for the time being. Pretty soon Stefan started to drink from Elena on his own. Elena felt a sensational feeling coursing through her body that moment. She fought the urge to close her eyes and just enjoy the feeling. Not to mention Caroline was standing right there. Thankfully Stefan opened up his eyes and stopped drinking from Elena right away. He looked a bit confused for a moment.
"Damon." Stefan said with barely audible tone of voice. "Damon attacked me." He said that out loud. Stefan was following Damon when he left the Grill after having a drink there. It was right after Damon killed Lexi. Stefan remembered that Damon had disappeared for a moment from in front of his eyes. He was looking around for him when Damon suddenly attacked him from behind. Stefan was totally caught off guard. He couldn't do anything to fight him off before Damon broke his neck.
"Are you saying you have no idea where he is right now?" asked Caroline with scared tone of voice. Because Damon without any humanity, could be anywhere and doing anything.
"This is not good" said Elena more to herself than to others. However she was more concerned about Stefan at the moment, though he looked alright now.
"We must find Damon. He has completely lost it" said Stefan as he got up from the couch and immediately started walking towards the front door. "I have seen Damon without any humanity before but this time it's different. He is too dangerous now. This needs to stop immediately or things might get completely out of our hands" said Stefan as he kept walking. Caroline and Elena were right behind him. Stefan opened the door and came face to face with Adrian and Kim who were standing on the porch.
"Hello everyone" said Kim with a dark smirk playing on her lips. Both Elena and Caroline looked at Kim along with Stefan. Before they knew it Kim rushed into the house and knocked Elena into the wall. She then rushed at Caroline and grabbed her by the throat. Adrian rushed in and grabbed Stefan who fought back and pushed Adrian against another wall. Adrian got the upper hand eventually and slammed Stefan into the wall. Both of them had their hands wrapped around the others throat. Elena went to help Stefan fight Adrian immediately.
"Stop!" came Kim's voice. She was still holding Caroline. Elena and Stefan looked at Kim. Her eyes have turned yellow. They stopped fighting immediately.
"One bite from a hybrid and she's dead, remember?" said Kim. Adrian threw Elena to the floor and punched Stefan in the face. Stefan used his vampire speed to get up and help Elena. When they turned around, they saw that Kim and Adrian have left, and they've kidnapped Caroline as well.
"Caroline?" said Elena. Stefan and Elena looked out the front door and started to worry about Caroline's well being.
Jacqueline's POV
I was impatiently waiting for the test results to come out that Meredith did on me. Rebekah and Bonnie were still with me. They were sitting on the chairs while I was restlessly pacing in the room. So many horrible thoughts crossed my mind in past two hours. At one point I just decided to stop thinking. I was feeling anxious as well. Why this pregnancy has to be so complicated? I immediately grew alert as Meredith walked through the door. Rebekah and Bonnie stood up as well. They were worrying as hell for me and the baby. I approached doctor Fell before she could come over to me.
"What did it say Meredith?" I asked with anxious tone of voice. Clearly I was very worried and very tensed up at the moment.
"Jacqueline, like I said before, it's too early to determine the sex of the baby through medical tests" said Meredith and my face fell immediately. Now I won't know about the baby until it's five or six months old and that's a very long time wait for me. Meredith spoke up again. "However there is something I have for you that should cheer you up right away."
"What is it?" I asked with a frown of confusion on my face. What could possibly cheer me up right now?
"You are pregnant with twins" said Meredith with a wide grin and I heard it very clearly but I was too shocked to give any response to her.
"Come again" said Rebekah. Obviously she and Bonnie were just as much shocked as I was.
"Jacqueline is carrying twin babies." Meredith confirmed again. Rebekah's face lit up immediately and so did Bonnie's.
"It makes perfect sense now" exclaimed Bonnie loudly. "One baby must be a boy and another baby must be a girl. That's why the spell couldn't indicate anything. This is amazing."
"No, the most amazing thing about this twins is their heartbeats. Their hearts beat in perfect sync. Really hard to tell apart. I was completely fascinated when I pulled that test" said Meredith and I realized then why I couldn't figure it out before that I was pregnant with twin babies. Before I knew it I was engulfed in a bear hug by Rebekah. By then I had overcome the shocked state and my eyes were welling up with tears. I really didn't expect something like this. And I was so happy because just a while ago I was thinking of all kind of horrible things about this baby. I parted from Rebekah only to be hugged by Bonnie. Rebekah wiped away the tear drop that escaped her eye.
"Congratulations" exclaimed Bonnie happily. I saw Meredith leaving the room in a rush from the corner of my eyes. She must have other patients to attend.
"You should tell Kol about this immediately" said Rebekah and I agreed with her right away. I pulled my phone and speed dialed Kol's number. It rang for a while but no one picked up. I was disappointed to say the least.
"He isn't picking up." I said gloomily while sighing out heavily.
"Maybe he is at a bar right now. You know how loud the music is over there" said Bonnie as she tried to cheer me up.
"Let me call Nik" said Rebekah but I stopped her.
"No, let them come home first. It's better I tell Kol about this in person." I knew Kol would burst with happiness when he would hear about this. 'Kol, where the hell are you?' I said that in my mind. There was a nagging feeling in the back of my mind that I ignored without thinking about it for a second. Only if I knew where Kol really was at the moment and what was happening with him.
Third Person's POV
The Gilbert House
Kol felt someone splashing cold water on his face. He was dead for a while now but he was waking up slowly. And all Kol wanted to do was kill the person who broke his neck several times and stabbed him through his heart with wooden stake more times than he could count.
"You don't deserve to be called an original you know" spoke up a voice that Kol could recognize any day and in any state. Kol opened up his eyes enough to see Damon's face hovering over his. The original was breathing heavily. He never felt so weak in his life before. Damon had caught him off guard the first time and then Kol never got a chance to wake up properly. Damon continuously kept killing him over and over again. Suddenly Kol felt Damon stabbing him in the neck with something very sharp almost like a needle. Within seconds Kol started to feel burning pain spreading throughout his body. Damon had injected liquefied vervain in Kol's body. Alaric still had a few vervain darts in his stock. Lets just say he had no choice but to give them to Damon. A loud groan escaped Kol's breath along with a painful scream. The agony, woke Kol up completely. He found himself all tied up by shackles and chains in a house. And the house looked very familiar to him as well. But Kol couldn't think for very long because soon he started to suffocate for no reason at all.
"Ohhh, what's happening to you?" asked Damon with fake concerned in his voice. Kol was turning red slowly and the vervain in his blood was still hurting like a bitch.
"I wasn't invited in this house before." Kol could barely say that as he struggled to breath. He tried to break the chains and get out of the house immediately but unfortunately he was too weak to do anything. Kol lost a lot of blood already, then the vervain was doing a fantastic job of keeping him tamed and the suffocation was completely screwing up with him.
"I see" said Damon with understanding tone of voice and he nodded his head like a wise person.
"If you are wondering about the house then let me inform you, it's the Gilbert residence" said Damon ignoring the fact completely that Kol was on the verge of passing out due to the suffocation.
"I can't breath." Kol whispered with great trouble. Damon obviously being a vampire heard that quite clearly but he acted as if he never heard anything.
"You must be wondering why I brought you here out of all the places I could have taken you to" said Damon with mirthful tone of voice that sounded very harsh and cruel. "You see lately I am obsessed with going along with the story line of the show, what's it called... aha...'The Vampire Diaries' right? And I heard, in the show you died at one point, right here, in this very house."
"You wouldn't dare." Kol growled loudly as he suddenly found a little strength in him. He even tried to attack Damon but obviously failed. Kol knew it very well that if he died Jacqueline and their baby would die along with him and he simply cannot let that happen. Damon however only smirked at him. Kol got weak very soon and doubled over in pain. Painful groans were escaping his throat as Kol struggled to break free. Where was everyone? Where were his brothers? Why no one noticed that he disappeared from the club? Why no one was looking for him? The pain was getting unbearable. Kol needed his brothers to save him.
"You mean to say, I wouldn't dare to drive this stake through your heart" said Damon. Kol looked up and saw Damon holding the indestructible white oak stake in his hand. Damon had that in his possession for a while now. Bad for Kol no one tried to take it away from him. Even though Damon wasn't supposed to feel anything but still he felt, satisfaction and immensely for sure. Fear was shining in the original's eyes, fear of death. Damon was holding his life in his hands. He could take it away within a blink of an eye. But where would be the fun in that. Damon was already disappointed that he didn't get to torture Lexi and had to kill her in one shot. However Kol wasn't going to be so lucky. Damon won't kill him so easily but just to prove a point Damon turned the stake in his hand. The sharp edge of the stake was pointed right at Kol or his heart more precisely. Damon shoved the stake inside Kol's chest using vampire strength. He intentionally missed the heart but only by an inch. An air piercing horribly painful scream filled in the air of the house.
"Oopps, did I miss the heart?" asked Damon mockingly. "No problem, I can always give it another shot" saying that Damon pulled out the stake from Kol's chest only to drive it back again however in a different spot this time, barely missing the heart. It wouldn't have hurt so much if the stake was an ordinary wood stake but it was the weapon that could really kill Kol and getting stabbed by that very weapon over and over again was unimaginably painful.
