The Only Way

"God, she is so perfect," Scarlett gushed, holding baby Hope while Rebekah and Elijah watched. They had driven all night to get to their safe haven, to take Scarlett away from those who would harm her and her unborn daughter. Elijah watched her and smiled; Rebekah smiled at him.

"Just a few more months till we get to meet your little one," Rebekah smiled at them. "Is Klaus making his way up here anytime soon?"

"I've got Savi convincing him it'll be a good idea," Scarlett said, though she couldn't take her eyes off Hope who would not stop smiling. "Take some time away and out of the city, especially with it being the holidays." She shrugged. "Maybe we should just stay here."

"And here I thought I could never get you to leave New Orleans," Elijah said lightly, though it had been a serious thought of his.

"I mean, I say this now," Scarlett said lightly, passing Hope to Rebekah. "But, we've already fought so hard to keep New Orleans as our home." She smiled.

"And who knows how far this wicked Aunt Dahlia will be able to track you," Rebekah pointed out and Elijah gave her a serious look. "Might as well have home advantage," she said lightly. "I think this one needs a nap," she changed the subject now, taking Hope to the next room to let her lay down.

"Oh," Scarlett said, touching her stomach.

"What is it?" Elijah asked worriedly.

"Nothing," she smiled sweetly at him. "Come here," she said and he came closer to her on the couch. "She's kicking," Scarlett said, taking Elijah's hand and letting him feel.

"That's...incredible," Elijah said quietly, making her smile.

"I want New Orleans for them," Scarlett told him of Aurora and Hope. "To grow up where I learned magic." She shrugged. "Whether your brother or Marcel is in charge, either way they're going to be safe."

"If you're going to say what I think you're going to say," Elijah was saying seriously.

"You said it yourself," Scarlett was reminding him. "Aurora is a Mikaelson and a LaFleur, and I have access to her power."

"No," Elijah shook his head at her.

"I almost killed Mikael back there," Scarlett reminded him of a few days before. "I'm stronger than your mom. I can stop her and Finn, I-"

"Do you hear yourself Scarlett?" Elijah argued with her.

"Helloooooo," Savannah called as she entered the house with Klaus, hearing the argument and hoping to break it up.

"Well, so much for a nap," Rebekah was saying lightly as she came back down the stairs with the baby. Everyone was quiet now as they watched the first meeting between father and daughter. She quietly passed the baby to Klaus, with Hope instantly cooing as he held her close.

"She is so sweet," Savannah said as she stepped closer to Klaus, taking one of Hope's tiny hands.

"I think she likes you love," Klaus said softly and Savannah smiled.

"Well," Rebekah smiled now. "With everyone together for the holidays I guess there's just one thing left to do."

Rebekah talked Elijah and Klaus into gathering firewood, leaving her, Savannah, and Scarlett alone in the house with the baby. Rebekah caught up with Savannah on everything, happy that she was back together with her brother. Once they were done catching up and gushing over the baby, Rebekah turned her attention to Scarlett, concerned with this new power as well.

"What are you thinking Scarlett?" Rebekah was asking seriously.

"That for a bunch of people who never tapped their power the Mikaelsons have a lot of opinions on how to use it," Scarlett muttered, then sighed heavily. "I'm sorry Bekah, I shouldn't have said that."

"You know we're just worried about you," Rebekah reiterated.

"And not to mention your baby," Savannah pointed out.

"You think I didn't think about that?" Scarlett asked defensively. Everyone kept lecturing her on her unborn daughter, like she didn't consider her while making seemingly reckless plans. "I want to do this to protect her, so she doesn't fall into this huge mess our families..." She trailed off as she saw Savannah looking out the window, her face showing concern. "What Savi?"

"Something's wrong," Savannah said, rushing for the door. Scarlett and Rebekah hurried behind her, seeing from the open front door what she meant; Elijah and Klaus had collapsed. Handing Hope to Scarlett, Rebekah ran outside to help Savannah bring them into the house before laying them out of the living room floor side by side.

"What's wrong with them?" Savannah was asking as Scarlett gave her Hope, kneeling down next to them and taking each of their hands, closing her eyes and concentrating.

"It's Finn," Scarlett said. "He's pulled them into a different plane, representational magic. He's got all three brothers trapped."

"How do we wake them up?" Rebekah asked.

"By cracking the walls of that place," Scarlett said, adjusting to sit on the floor between the two brothers, taking both of their hands.

"Scarlett," Rebekah warned.

"I'm going in there," Scarlett told her seriously. "You know I'm stronger than Finn, you know I can get them out of there. I'm breaking in, not getting pulled in, so I have more power and more control, I'll be fine."

"I'm not letting you," Savannah told her, but Scarlett froze her in place.

"I'm not asking," Scarlett said before slipping into unconsciousness.

When she arrived there, in what appeared to be a log cabin, the four brothers were all arguing. They argued about their parents, about their relations as brothers; Finn seemed particularly angry with Kol, mostly because Esther brought the two of them back to help her and Kol had turned to help the others. Finn alleged that Kol must love Scarlett, though Elijah and Kol both knew that wasn't the truth that Finn was trying to stir things up; that was when Kol noticed her.

"Well, speak of the devil, huh?" Kol mused and the other three looked over to where she was standing.

"How dare you bring her into this," Elijah accused Finn.

"I didn't," Finn said, glancing over Scarlett. "Which means, your daughter has even more power than Esther thought."

"After all we talked about today," Elijah looked at Scarlett now.

"Well, this should be more interesting than whatever you were babbling on about," Klaus mused to Finn.

"He can't hurt me Elijah," Scarlett said seriously.

"She's right," Finn chimed in. "Inviting herself here, there's nothing I can do to her." His smile gave Scarlett chills. "She's not the one I'm after right now."

"If you're trying to prove some kind of point," Elijah started off.

"My point is," Finn said angrily. "That I will bring an end to the vampires reign in this city. I will not tolerate those who stand in my way." As he was saying this, he turned to his youngest brother Kol, grabbing hold of him, which Kol struggled against.

"What are you doing?" Elijah said, though he found himself unable to help him; he looked to Klaus who didn't know what to do either.

"Cursing him to," Finn started off, but he found himself choking on his own words. With it becoming harder to breathe, he released Kol, backing away. Confused, Elijah and Klaus looked to each other but Kol nodded back at Scarlett who was murmuring something. They realized it was a spell.

"You know what a lot of witches don't know," Scarlett was saying, stepping closer to Finn. "How to protect themselves." She waved her hand and he fell over. "Bitch that my sister was, she still taught me what to do if another witch was hexing me." Finn felt like he was suffocating. "Reverse it back on them. So, I curse you Finn, to this body. To be stuck and when the hex eventually takes over, to die alone." And, with that, the spell holding the plane together started to crumble.

Scarlett woke up on the floor gasping, Elijah and Klaus waking soon after her.

"What the hell happened in there?" Rebekah asked worriedly, adjusting her hold on Hope while Savannah helped Scarlett up.

"I learned never to make Scarlett angry," Klaus said as he got to his feet as well, his brother already up and checking over Scarlett.

"I'm fine," Scarlett assured him. "Really, and I'm sorry but you guys were-"

"I'm not angry, Scarlett," Elijah promised her, taking her hand. "We can't just start using it whenever we want, but maybe getting into this magic isn't the worst thing," he admitted.

"Not the worst thing?" Klaus questioned. "You saw what she could do in there." It seemed he wasn't the only one that shared this opinion as Scarlett's phone lit up with Kol's name.

"Hey, are you ok?" Scarlett asked as she answered.

"You have to teach me how to do that," Kol insisted.

"You're welcome by the way," Scarlett rolled her eyes, though she did smile.

"No, Scarlett, you don't understand," Kol was telling her seriously. "I think I know how to kill my mother."

"God, Scar, are you crazy?" Davina was insisting as she greeted her friend with a hug. Kol brought her to the house that night, forcing him to bring her along after she found out what happened. She had gone by the compound to see him when she found him passed out. When he woke up he told her everything that happened; she didn't even know you could swing a hex back on someone like that.

"Everything is fine Davina, I promise," Scarlett assured her.

"Right," Davina said sarcastically. "Except Finn is currently dying and his mom's on the war path."

"That's why we've decided to appease her by having one of us accept her offer," Elijah said and Davina looked around curiously until she realized who it was.

"Bekah?" she asked.

"While she's busy with the spell, Scarlett will be able to hex her as well," Rebekah insisted. "And, hey, if it works I have my chance to be human before someone brings me back to this," she said lightly.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Davina was asking Scarlett, though she meant everyone.

"Finn is soon to be gone, Mikael has taken off," Klaus listed off. "Esther is the last to deal with..." He was trailing off.

"Before Dahlia," Elijah said now. "As much as I don't like this Davina, this is the only way we have right now. And I need you to help us keep them safe."

"Where do we start?" Davina asked him.
