"HAHA! Success! I have single-handedly defeated Tak, taken revenge on Dib, and begun Phase 2 of my ultimate plan! Nothing can get in my way now!" Zim cheered from the Massive's engine room. "Is exactly what I'll say when we get back to Earth!"
"So why are we still here? Shouldn't we get back home?" Gaz asked, simultaneously shaking Dib down for her precious stuffed vampire.
"It was an emergency security code I typed into the main computer. It opened all interior doors, but also sealed off the exit. It's a code used only in the most dire of situations. The Voot Runner isn't strong enough to pierce through the Massive's thick hull. Tak is sure to know this. It's only a matter of time before she finds us again."
Zim then felt a tugging at his pant leg. He looked down to see a rather depressed GIR. "Master, I miss Moosey," the robot stated with a forlorn tone.
"Bah! We have more important matters at hand, GIR!" the master scolded. GIR's eyes began filling with tears. Zim sighed. "Besides, it takes more than a fall to take Minimoose out of the game. Any moment now, he'll return to us. But if we don't get out of here soon, we're all-"
"Wait!" Dib intervened, picking himself up from where Gaz threw him. "Your death machine robot is somewhere out there?"
"Eh? What is it to you, stinking human?" the invader asked.
"Do you still have that communicator we made?"
"Yeah, right here, but I don't-"
"Just watch. We'll be outta here in no time!"
Zim was only part right. Tak did indeed know the exit was sealed, but at the moment was unable to begin a proper search for her enemies. The Almighty Tallest, now free of their shackles, did however send several small groups to search the Massive for the criminals. The one Irken who wanted most to join the search was left to face her rulers' fury.
"You better have one heck of an explanation for this, young lady," Tallest Red condoned.
"My Tallest," Tak began, "you know as well as I that an Irken must take any and all necessary actions in order to complete their mission. You want to stop Zim and his traitorous plans, and I am merely a humble servant to the cause."
Before the Tallest could even begin to make sense of that statement, an alert came on the computer's monitor. "Incoming message from…Zim?" one crewmate explained in disbelief.
"Zim?" Almighty Tallest Purple asked. "Well, put him on!"
The workers obliged, but instead of Zim, an image of Dib sitting in the Voot Cruiser appeared on screen. "Greetings, alien scum," the boy began; "As you know, we have escaped your-"
"Hey! You're not Zim!" Tallest Purple cried out.
"No, no I'm not. Anyways, as you know-"
"His head is even bigger on screen," Tallest Red marveled.
"Okay, can you let me speak?!" Dib screeched in frustration.
"Well, soooooreeeeey. Geez."
"Grr. As you know, we have escaped your clutches for the moment, but are still on your ship. You're probably thinking you can find us, but before you even try, take a look at THIIIIIISSSSS!"
He turned, revealing Skoodge and Zim tied up in the back seat. There was a general gasp in the room from all present. Two Irkens stopped by a non-Irken…thing? It's never been heard of! Granted, it was Zim and Skoodge, but still, it was unsettling.
"I was hoping you'd have that reaction," Dib grinned. "You see, while you 'Irken conquerors' are, eh, okay at what you do, Earth is even better. Look how your own kind cowers in fear at my sheer awesomeness!"
A pause before Skoodge realized the camera was on him.
"Huh? Oh, right. Help! Help! This situation is too much for us to handle. HELP!"
The larger Irken then turned to Zim for his pleas. Dib's rival merely glared into the camera. "I won't say it," he stated coldly.
"Come on, Zim. We gotta convince them," Skoodge reminded. Zim sighed in exasperation. He looked down, shook his head slowly, then glared at the camera once again. "Oh, help. Please help. This human is far more powerful than me. Help," the invader stated in dead monotone.
"Glad to hear you finally admit it, Zim. I always knew I was better," Dib teased. Zim muttered foul things under his breath.
"Once we escaped," Dib continued to the Tallest, "I single-handedly took down these filthy aliens. That is the power of mankind. And I'm just a kid. Through my advanced knowledge of technology, I was able to contact my home planet, who is sending military reinforcements to destroy you all. They should be here any second."
The investigator crossed his arms and sat back in his chair, content with his speech. Most Irkens in the room began chattering in concern. The Almighty Tallest merely stared at him with bored, skeptical eyes. "Are you done?" Tallest Red asked lamely.
"Yes. Yes, I am!" the boy answered.
"Uh-huh, okay. Listen, kid, there is no armada greater than that of the Irken Empire, in this galaxy or the next. There's no way your puny human army could even put a scratch on us."
"He's lying, anyways," Tak agreed. "Earth doesn't have the capabilities to travel this far from their hideous rock, let alone an armada that could do it. Nice try though, Dib."
The communicator in Dib's hand began beeping. He smiled. "Don't believe me? Well, here they are."
Silence filled the air as everyone waited for something to happen. For a moment, it seemed nothing was going to happen. Then BOOM! Something hit the Massive, rocking it to the side. The ship toppled back to its starting position as another shot shook everyone on board. The third blow was the convincer. Everyone panicked. Whatever was out there had the capability to actually harm the Massive! And the Tallest! And without full power or the use of their own weapons, they were sitting ducks!
"It's the end! AAAH!" Tallest Purple hollered. Irkens as far as the eye could see began scrambling all over the place. Tak, however, just stood there, a look of sheer shock inscribed on her face. "N-no. It isn't possible! YOU'RE LYING!" she cried, pointing an accusing figure at Dib, who was laughing his head off.
"Soon you pathetic Irkens will be destroyed by the superior race!" the boy cheered.
"MAKE IT STOP! MAKE IT STOP!" Tallest Purple begged.
"Okay."
Dib whispered something into the communicator, and the barrage stopped instantly. The Irkens looked around, expecting some dirty underhanded trick. Nothing. "Wait, really?" Tallest Red asked.
"Well, this is a rescue mission," Dib elaborated. "They'll back off if you let me, my sister, and our prisoners go."
"And if we refuse?"
Another shot.
"ALRIGHT! ALRIGHT! You can go! Just make them stop!"
"My Tallest!" Tak shrieked. "You can't be serious!"
They weren't listening, though. Almighty Tallest Red was typing on the computer. The ship's exit opened slowly, revealing two bright lights. The army, perhaps?
Not long after, the Voot Cruiser began turning the corner, approaching those ominous lights. All on board had gathered there to watch as the human children slowly pass them by, Dib made faces at them, internally chuckling all the while. Gaz was far too busy playing her Game Slave 2 to partake in such trivial activities. The Voot was but a few feet away from sweet freedom. Dib kicked his feet back and smiled. His plan had worked.
Then it happened.
In a flash, the two lights were knocked out of the air, causing a cloud of dust to rise. A small struggle was heard before a little purple moose was tossed at the feet of the Tallest. "The death machine!" an Irken called out. Minimoose had multiple weapons coming out of its head. Laser guns, cannons, you name it.
"I knew it!" Tak screeched. "It's a trick!"
"FLOOR IT!" Zim wailed as he jumped into the pilot's seat, the ropes falling off him like water. The Voot Cruiser took off like a bullet, charging into the dust cloud. No one could see what happened, but they heard everything. Something caught the little ship, bringing it to a gradual halt. The Irkens waited a moment in unsettling quietness.
"What're you doing to Zim?! Release me! Hey, wait! UGH!"
At that moment, Zim was tossed into the air, screaming until he hit the ground in front of Tak. The Voot Cruiser was next, its impact causing the windshield to open, resulting in all on board falling out. They groaned in pain, but remained in their spots.
Then out of the clouds came a small android, its eyes burning red. It its giant right hand was a machine it found at a shabby restaurant. "What have we here?" Tak questioned as she inspected the piece of metal and wires. Discovering what it was, the female gave a wicked grin.
"Excellent work, Mimi," Tak complimented. "Now maybe we can get somewhere."
