Strange look on his face, Pauses, then says. "You're my best friend." And you knew what it was, He is in love. (Taylor Swift – You are in love}
Natsu watches from the comfort of her bed, a small smile gracing his handsome features. He watches the way she sips her coffee from the dragon mug he had bought for her years ago, before tapping away at her keyboard once again.
She was the definition of beautiful, even though she says she isn't and that he was being ridiculous. Her blonde tresses were pulled into a floppy bun at the base of her neck, clad in naught but his t shirt.
It is mornings like this that make Natsu really appreciate how lucky he really was, to have someone like her to love, and to be someone she loves back.
He swallows thickly, remembering the time he had nearly lost her, in high school. Way back when she was still living with her abusive father, having to deal with his shitty, abusive girlfriend, who was merely four years older than her, she didn't fare well at all.
Natsu's father, was the one who moved her out and into her own apartment. Which Natsu was now living in too. But, now here she was, incredibly happy and an exceptional published author. Natsu could not be prouder of her. Nor could his father.
Sighing, he watches her set her hair free, shaking it out before climbing back into the bed with him. He pulls her in close, kissing her cheek.
"I love you" she whispers
"I love you too, Luce."
She kisses him with such force it blanks his mind for a moment. Taking initiative, he pushes her down, placing himself between her legs. She skilfully wraps them around his waist before rolling him over and grinding against him.
Lazy morning sex had become routine for the couple, it helped prepare them for the day ahead, Natsu with the stress of running his own bar and Lucy for her multiple meetings and interviews. They lie there, bathing in the beam of sun coming from the window beside them, naked bodies slicked together. Natsu pecks her once more, before clambering up and going off to brew their usual morning coffees.
Her brown orbs watch him re-enter the room, steaming mugs in hand and body on full show. She smiles and she too realises just how lucky she is.
