Everything was a mess. This wasn't how he wanted his family reunion. They weren't supposed to be in danger. Was it his fault? No, there was no way of telling what the outcome would be. Starscream at one point had thought of taking Darklight and Falere and go into hiding with them. It was too much of a risk, for if he was found Megatron would offline them all, he still might.
Starscream had to stop thinking like this. All he needed to do was try to explain to Megatron what was going on and maybe sneak off to locate Darklight and bring her back to base without being detected. Twice in a row though seemed unlikely, and it depended if Megatron hadn't figured it out yet. Right now he could have her in his servos, with Moondancer.
Scrap. It hurt his helm to think anymore.
"Scream, you ok?" Skywarp asked walking beside him.
"Honestly, no, not really." He vented heavily.
Thundercracker caught up and placed a steady servo over his shoulder. "We're all with you in this Starscream, you're not alone."
All Starscream could do was nod.
Soundwave, the constructicons and Breakdown will protect their families, that much he knew, and Thundercracker was right, he wasn't alone in this and had allies with him. He had to keep remembering this and think of his little seeklet for it was the only thing that eased his CPU.
They were all making their way back to face the music. Soundwave had escorted Turbulence back to the medic bay where Hook would look after her and keep her away from Vortex who already had this weird obsession over the femme. The TIC will keep him away and make sure to keep it like that, if he could.
Everyone followed behind him in silent, so much on their minds with everything that's happened over the last twenty-four hours. They had to face their leader sooner or later, and they were ready for it, or at least trying to convince themselves they were.
They exited their space bridge and headed towards the main hall. They passed some of the others. The con heads gave them questioning optics but didn't say anything as they passed, while the remaining of Breakdown's group, the stunticons, wildly asked where they have been. Breakdown just shook it off, saying it wasn't important and carried on ignoring their call outs.
There was a reason Breakdown left his group in the first place. They all wanted to have fun, and by the meaning fun meant finding some…fruition, entertainment, and he wanted no part in that kind of fun. There was nothing he could do to change their minds, so he wondered off without a word said before disappearing and wasn't long before discovering Velocity.
I have a son. Breakdown couldn't believe it. He may like them but he never pictured himself with a sparkling. What happened between him and...I don't even remember her designation. Thinking about it made him feel worse, knowing she was now offline, leaving her sparkling in his care, his son.
"How you holding up, Breakdown?" Scrapper asked.
Breakdown looked at him and in front again. "I'm alright, I guess."
They all knew Velocity was his sparkling. It was something that couldn't be kept a secret forever, so why hide it?
"You'll be alright, we all will be."
Soundwave stuck close to Starscream in silence, optics focused ahead as he thought over everything that's already happened. He found his sparkling, Aria, after almost a decade gone he finally had her back. Not only that, he had his youngest sibling back in his life, which he wasn't sure if it was a good thing or not.
Turbulence is nothing like him, or his twin, her older sister, who went offline way too quick once joining the cause. Turbulence was kind sparked, gentle, and nervous around new things. She didn't belong in the decepticon cause and shouldn't be at their base. But he found himself unable to let her go now, not after so long being apart. She was better off without him in her life, yet he couldn't let her leave. He'll keep her out of harm's way. She can have an easy and sensible job, maybe an assistant for Hook in the medic bay. Yes, that was a good idea. He'll persuade Megatron in having her protected, somehow.
After seeing the way Vortex was handling her angered him so much. If anyone laid their servos on his sister, his sparkling or Moondancer, he'll make sure they suffer greatly.
The only thing left was to have Moondancer under his protection once again, then he'll have everything, nothing else will matter to him.
The moment had finally arrived when they entered the building. Silence was quieter, if that was even possible. All optics laid on them as they stepped closer into the room. All expect Megatron, who had his back facing them but the warlord knew of their presences.
Starscream was about to acknowledge his leader when he spotted Vortex. The combaticon gave the dirtiest glare directed at them, he looked very pissed. Starscream didn't care though. He wasn't going to let him leave with that femme. Even if he did Soundwave would've stopped it anyway. Ignoring him, he forced his optics ahead and found his voice. "Lord Megatron."
Megatron smirked hearing his second in command. The seeker was trying to sound calm, but he could hear how nervous he was, there was no point in hiding it. "Starscream. So you've decided to finally return?" Megatron turned around in his seat and his optics burning at each one of them, already guessing what they've been up to. "Tell me, what was so important for you to abandon my orders and disappear without a trace?"
As his second in command, Starscream stepped forward towards his leader. "My apologies Lord Megatron, I take full responsibility."
Thundercracker wanted to correct him. "Starscream-"
"We found sparkling's with the decepticon programming and I gave orders to have them brought back to base." He knew it was said too fast, but he couldn't help it. "It never occurred to me to have you informed. It was a mistake and won't happen again."
Megatron was amused. Did he really think that speech would give him the all clear? "How many did you find?" He asked out of curiosity.
"Six." Starscream couldn't lie anymore, that didn't mean keeping secrets still. "One was severely injured but Hook is treating him so he should be ok."
Megatron held a firm stare, one that no one could read and Starscream didn't like it. "Would Moondancer's sparkling's happen to be among them?" He tried not to chuckle seeing the seeker bow his helm in defeat. "I know she's in the city, no need to lie anymore. Oh, and to make it more delightful, Darklight happens to be here too. Quite the coincidence, don't you think? Why's it you don't look too thrilled to hear of you're the one femme you cared so much about is in this city? Unless you already knew of this, and you've avoid telling me of this news? Did you all know of what was going on? Soundwave?" Megatron gave out question after question demanding to know. "It would seem a sibling of yours was discovered, much to my surprise, since I always thought you had only one and if I remember correctly she went offline at the start of the war."
Soundwave was loyal. He has always been and cannot disobey his leader anymore. Although his sister came to mind. Megatron knew of her and allowed Vortex and Blast Off to take her back to base and use her for their own needs. He didn't like that. Not one bit. However he remained neutral and answered him. "Affirmative. Sparkling's secure at base. Relative: Younger sibling. Will remain under my care. Operation: Completed."
Megatron knew of Soundwave's soft spot for sparkling's, everyone did, so he wasn't surprised his third in command went off to find his daughter. For so long he's been loyal to the cause and that is why he was allowing him to keep his daughter. He'll raise her to be like him, a loyal decepticon.
"Very well, Soundwave." There wasn't anything else to say to him right that moment. Megatron then looked at the combaticons. "Bonecrusher, I'm assuming your sparkling is back at base now?" He could imagine the sparkling to be strong like his sire, another good addition for the cause.
"Yes, Lord Megatron." Bonecrusher answered.
"Hm," The warlord could only guess the rest of them followed just because they did. Breakdown though he didn't expect. "Breakdown, what's your excuse?"
"I found the injured sparkling and I overheard some returning to base. I figured he might have a chance."
"Why did you want to save him?"
"H-he had the code, decepticon code." Truth, he didn't know at first but he did have the programming. But he couldn't tell him what the real reason was, he'll only get laughed at and Megatron might harm Velocity. He couldn't risk it.
Megatron narrowed his optics but didn't bother to question anymore. It's been a long night and there was still much to do. "Very well," He vented heavily like an aged mech. "I don't need to question either of you, Skywarp and Thundercracker. You'd follow Starscream like attached parasites anyway."
Snickers and cackles were heard from others surrounding the ongoing show for them and neither seeker replied to their leader, hoping for this to all end soon.
Starscream felt queasy, every second that ticked by only worsened it. He didn't know what to do. Megatron knew of his hidden secret but kept the small part about Falere out not wanting him to discover the existence of his sparkling, not yet at least.
What was he planning though? Starscream could clearly see through his ruthless optics something was in play he was unaware of.
"What are your next orders, Lord Megatron?" He had to remain calm and not give away his uncomfortable state.
Megatron's smile was malicious. Starscream didn't like it.
His optics drifted behind the seeker and upon the approaching group. "Ah, Tarn, you've returned. Was your task successful?"
Starscream turned to face him he was greeted by Tarn's disturbing figure more chilling looking to stare at.
"Task completed, my lord." Tarn and his group stood only a short distance away from them. Without acknowledging any of the others he reached behind and pulled Darklight out in front of him while holding tightly onto her arm preventing her from escaping him.
Darklight met Starscream's optics, wordlessly whispering I still love you to one another. Starscream couldn't tear his optics away, fearing Megatron was planning some sort of punishment for her.
Helex held Moondancer closely not showing any signs of releasing her. She was so scared. Looking up she was met with many familiar faces from when she was last with them.
Many different emotions rushed through the room. Some were confused; some sickening pleased and a few others with warm smiles which she wanted to return but couldn't bring herself to do that. Gazing her optics she found the ones she had feared to face.
Soundwave showed nothing, she couldn't read anything from him, just a neutral look as he just about always did. Bonecrusher was a different story. He was not happy. She didn't blame him, after just taking off like she did he had every right to hate her. But what choice did she have? He had to understand her choice but didn't see that happening. Bonecrusher glared at her for a moment before looking ahead to avoid her as if she were nothing.
Everyone was facing the past, the present and the future all at once.
Behind the femmes Vectra was pushed forward by Tesarus with cuffed servos. Vectra was presented to Megatron and showed much courage facing the warlord.
Starscream thought he must've missed something to see the autobot brought here in cuffs still online. He must've been useful.
Megatron smirked with glee, strolling forward towards his main interest. "So, Vectra was it? I must say, your...ability, is quite fascinating. Do you know why you're here?"
"I'm quite clear of the reason I'm in your presents." Vectra didn't raise his vocals, didn't struggle and most definitely didn't beg for mercy. He won't show that kind of behaviour towards the most feared warlord in known existence. "You're absorbed with what I have, what I'm capable of, and I'll right away tell you that it won't be that simple for me to just hand it over. Even if I could, I wouldn't do so kindly, for you'll only use it for destruction and chaos. I'll not willingly take any part of such plans."
"My, my," Megatron exhaled a chuckle, "such bold words. Fear is something you don't easily show. Good, I need recruits such as you in my army."
"You want me to abandon my loyalty for the autobot cause and join the decepticons so you can get what I have?"
"That is exactly what I want."
Vectra stared at him. "As I said, I'll not willingly take part in whatever plans you have."
Darklight wanted to make him change his mind, scream at him to stop being so stubborn and just cooperate to prevent being tortured until Megatron gets what he wants.
"Of course you won't." Megatron didn't look angry. In fact, he looked rather amused, which was never a good sign. "Tarn, would you kindly escort our guest to the brigs back at base and I'll deal with him later."
"As you command, my lord." Tarn let go of Darklight and Helex did the same with Moondancer and the group left with Vectra. He did glance back at Darklight with worried optics for a mere second and was soon out of sight.
Darklight felt a servo wrapping around her own and was gently tugged closer to Starscream, who didn't let go and kept her close to him. He didn't care of others thought. His family came first, no matter what.
Thundercracker brought Moondancer closer to them too, preventing her being by herself and not so alone. It worked, a little. Being back to all this, surrounded by decepticons was all coming back to her. The good, the bad, the nightmares, she could go one forever.
Megatron watched on seeing his second in command being all protective and it amused him seeing such a thing from the seeker. He was going to have fun pushing his buttons. Anything to make him crack would make his day.
"Darklight," Megatron finally spoke. "It's so nice to see you again, it's been too long."
"Not long enough." She answered bitterly and regrated it knowing she shouldn't back talk him now that she has the sparkling's to worry about.
Megatron chuckled darkly at her response. "Still the little spitfire I see. Not to worry, you'll learn to show respect." He gazed over at Moondancer and smirked at the fear she showed. "Ahh, Moondancer. I hope you'll show better respect, like you did when you were last with us. It will make everything so much…less complicated, and not just for you but for everyone."
Moondancer tried to avoid his leering stare. Her spark beat heavily against her chamber as his words sliced through her CPU, chills and shock waves running through her figure and worried she was about to have a spark attack. This wasn't meant to happen. Being here faced with the warlord and back in the lives of Bonecrusher and Soundwave, the stupid love triangle she got tangled in and her twin sparkling's each having a different sire was all too much for her mind to bare.
She didn't answer, and Megatron chuckled once more. "A little shy are we my dear? Do not worry, you'll settle in again where you truly belong, including with your sparkling's."
Thundercracker gently rubbed her arms to try and calm her, hoping it will help even in the slightest. He wished Soundwave or Bonecrusher would because that would be better for her current mood. Although neither seemed to move. Bonecrusher avoided her figure as if she didn't exist and everything he felt for her was no longer there. Soundwave's gaze every now and again swept over her and Thundercracker hoped he still felt something.
Megatron wanted to punish the two. Right then he wanted to through them at each decepticon and do as they please. Beat, rape, anything to break their spirits. Then his blazing optics loomed over the small group surrounding the femmes.
All weak, pathetic and no loyalty, they aren't decepticons. His twisted mind yelled out causing a slight head ache to form.
Starscream was the worst. Even if Megatron had ordered it the seeker wouldn't allow it. So? He could easily punish him too, take his title away and name him a traitor. It was that simple. On the other hand, when Darklight was around Starscream was thinking clearly and didn't attempt any take overs as leader. As a matter of fact he hasn't for over a decade now. But the seeker definitely hasn't had a clear mind since the femmes left. Maybe he will be once again. Only time could tell.
Soundwave was no surprise given his soft spark for family. He would remain loyal, like he always has. Would he? No, he couldn't think like that. Soundwave wouldn't dare. But did he still care for Moondancer? Did Bonecrusher? It didn't matter, either way she was the mother of their sparkling's.
It was decided. Everything will carry on, for now at least until a further time has come. Sooner or later the femes will be loyal as well and become obedient slaves as they should have always been.
Everyone waited in silence for Megatron to give the next order. The quietness was chilling and it broke when he finally did speak. "Welcome back, my dears. We've all missed you." Chuckles broke out from different cons. A incoming transmission alerted Megatron and he answered. 'Shockwave, report.'
'My liege, I'm afraid to say Optimus Prime and his troops discovered your whereabouts and are attempting to enter the space bridge into the city. I can hold them off but not for long.'
'Continue assault until you hear back from me.'
'As you wish, my lord.'
The transmission ended and Megatron grinned at both femmes. "Bring back whatever was raided to base and let us leave what is left for the autobot's to deal with." He looked up at Starscream who was glaring ever so slightly but enough for Megatron snicker at. "I have what I want, and I won't let it be taken away so easily this time, for I am lord Megatron, leader of the decepticons, true ruler of the galaxy," Megatron gave a chilling chuckle through his spoken words, "your one true master."
I know, it's not as long as I said it would be! But I really had to update, it was almost driving me insane. Anyway, hope you all enjoyed, thanks for reading and ideas are always welcome.
