Hi guys! I hope you all had a merry Christmas or a happy holiday or whatever! I had a lot of fun, but I wish there had been some little kids or something, because I don't have the maturity or intelligence to be stuck with so many adults for so long. At least I had my grandma! Anyway, it's been a little while since an update, so enjoy!
I know my mission. She made it plain and clear. I have to show Isabella that I care about her more than Phineas does. I have to tell her I love her. But how exactly to go about it? I've never told anybody something this monumental. This was important; I had to put a lot of thought into it.
"Hey." I heard her say. She was standing in the doorway to the kitchen. My shirt was like a very short dress on her and she had her hair all ruffled up. She looked adorable.
"I slept so well last night." She said, walking in. "You got any coffee?" I nodded and poured her a cup. "Thanks." She sat down on my lap again.
"You know, we do have plenty of chairs." I said.
"Yeah," She threw one arm over my shoulders. "I know."
"Are you going home? Phin could be back soon." I said.
"Walk me." She said, pulling a little puppy-pout face.
I sighed. "Come on darling, get off me then." I said.
"Yay!" She said.
"You need to get your things." I said.
"I should really just start leaving extra clothes here." Isabella said thoughtfully.
"And how exactly am I supposed to explain myself if Phineas finds a pink brassière?" I asked.
"Oh, he'll know you've got a fox coming over." She said sassily.
I wrapped my arms around her and started tickling her. "Ferb, stop, stop!" I suddenly flipped her to face me. "Ferb." She said breathlessly. I gently kissed her neck. "I've gotta tell you something."
"Me too." I said nervously. Was this how I was going to do it? Tell Isabella I love her, in our pajamas, on a totally typical day? Maybe I would.
Suddenly I heard footsteps in the hallway and we both froze up. They passed, but she had to leave now. I didn't want to risk it. We had everything going so perfectly. Could we really afford to let the cat out of the bag?
"Come on Bella, come on!" I scooted her towards the door.
"Call me later?" She asked hopefully.
"Alright." I replied.
"Bye." She kissed my cheek and left.
I closed the door, leaned against it, and sighed. Isabella was nothing less than my girlfriend at this point. We slept together, we kissed, we went out to dinner, and the movies, we flirted and joked, and she was all I thought about. The problem was that she WASN'T my girlfriend. Isabella didn't think of me the way I thought of her. But… that didn't mean she couldn't!
"So, Ferb…" Baljeet whispered to me. "Phineas mentioned the ball to me. The only problem is that we are not sure if I should bring Ginger or we should just be nice and include Buford."
"Huh?" I shook my head. I wasn't paying attention. All I had been thinking about was how exactly I was going to confess to my friend that I was in love with her.
"What are you two whispering about? I thought you were going to help me get the squirrel out of my air conditioning." Buford said.
"Call a professional." Baljeet said, irritated.
"As if anybody is more professional than Phineas and Ferb." Buford scoffed. "Where is Dinner Bell anyway?"
I shrugged. Upstairs in our apartment, I assume. I can't help feeling like I've been going out of my way to avoid my brother lately. It's basically the reason why I had answered Buford's ridiculous call. I wish I wasn't the jealous type, but I can't help it.
"Ferb, you seem… distracted." Baljeet said.
"Who me?" I responded.
"If you have anything to tell us, you can. Even if it's about us or Phineas or anything else." Baljeet said comfortingly.
"And I'll even make my responses sound mildly caring." Buford said.
I winced. I wasn't sure if I wanted to tell them anything.
"It's about your fuck buddy, ain't it?" Buford said.
"Buford!" Baljeet cried.
"I… I'm in love with her." I said weakly.
"I knew it! I knew that system was flawed. Even a guy like Ferb can't get it to work without…feelings…" Buford shuttered. "…Getting in the way. If it actually worked, I'd be screwing all my girl friends with no consequences."
"Buford!" Baljeet said again, sounding pretty irritated. "Ferb, I… do not really know what to tell you. She's shot down too many guys for me to confidently say she loves you back."
"I know… wait." I paused. "Wait! How do you know that?"
Baljeet smiled and shook his head. "Ferb Ferb Ferb, you underestimate me. Do you really think I couldn't put two and two together when Ginger mentioned what she learned?"
I was speechless. "You knew? The whole time?" Baljeet nodded.
Buford glanced back and forth between us. "Who are we talking about?!"
"What am I supposed to do?" I wailed.
"WHO ARE WE TALKING ABOUT?!" Buford yelled.
"Isabella." Baljeet whispered very softly.
"Who?" Buford asked.
"Isabella." He repeated quietly.
"Who?" Buford asked again.
"ISABELLA, OKAY! HE SAID ISABELLA! I'M IN LOVE WITH ISABELLA!" I shouted. I think I was having a mental breakdown.
Buford's eye got really wide. "So you… the whole time… you're friends-with-benefits with… you and Isabella…"
"Are you quite finished?" I said, scowling.
"Wait, what!?"
"Buford, you could not be less helpful right now!" Baljeet said indignantly.
"Dude, you were banging our best friend, Isabella Garcia-Shapiro, that Isabella?" Buford asked.
"Don't say it like that." I said weakly.
"What about Vanessa?" Buford asked me.
"I haven't thought about Vanessa in a long time." I said honestly.
"What about Phineas?" Buford asked.
"What about Phineas?" I said gruffly. "This doesn't involve him."
"Then, dude, it's all clear!" Buford said. "Isabella loves you!"
"How do you know?" Baljeet said cynically.
"Because!" He said. "She was actually willing to get with somebody other than Phineas!"
"She was desperate." I said.
"No, she wasn't. A million guys want her. But to Isabella, everybody's too nerdy, too tough, or too weird. Even Phineas doesn't pay enough attention, is too clueless, blah, blah." Buford said. "But you met her standards. She thinks you're perfect."
"That's not true." I said, but inside I felt a little different. Was it true?
"Make it true!" The guys said.
"Invite Isabella as your date to the ball!" Baljeet said. "It is just the kind of thing she loves."
The ball. I could confess my love to Isabella there. I could prove I was her Prince Charming. "Give me the phone." I demanded.
"Here." Buford tossed it to me.
I dialed Isabella's number as fast as I could. "Isabella!" I said urgently.
"Hi Ferb." She said in a bubbly voice. "Thanks for actually calling."
"Can I ask you something?" I said weakly.
"Of course."
I took a deep breath. "Isabella, would you like to go with me to-"
"Hold on Ferb," She cut me off. "No, it's Ferb. I guess he's calling from their place."
"Who are you talking to?" I asked.
"Oh," She paused. "Phineas."
I pulled the phone away from my ear.
"Ferb? Ferb? Hello?"
Phineas. She's with Phineas. I don't think a million Montys could break my heart like this.
"Well?" Buford asked excitedly.
I didn't say anything. We were all silent.
"Wait," Baljeet suddenly said. "How the hell did you get a squirrel in your air conditioning?"
