Dark, decrepit, haunted, and abandoned were all words that Orion would describe the place that he had called home for the past three years since the battle with Elias. He had made his home in a region of Mistral known as the Black Forest, an area known for its heavy Grimm population.

Now he found himself in the remnants of an ancient temple on an island off the coast of Mistral. Being so close to any kingdom was risky seeing on how he was branded an international criminal by the councils of Vale and Atlas. Despite this, Orion had dedicated the past three years to pure training and during that time, he had travelled the world, reevaluating himself and questioning himself and the world as a whole.

In that time, he had run into Sun and Jaune on several occasions, who had taken it upon themselves to be the ones to capture him. Ironically, they actually never seemed to actively search for him. They seemed to simply run into him at random encounters.

That was then, and the reason Orion had chosen to stay here for an extended period of time was because of an old legend that the temples previous inhabitants were a cult that worshipped Chaos. The legend actually turned out to be true, and as it turned out, this cult was were Elias had recruited his soldiers, under the pretext that he was Chaos's most faithful herald.

It was a simple form of temple, but what made it impressive despite how empty it now was how it made Orion feel. The library of the temple, located underground was especially what made him cautious in the temple. The old archives dated back long ago, and as it turned out, this was also the location that woman in the white hood from before had told Orion about. She had told him that somewhere here was a being that was as old as Chaos itself, but hated it beyond measure. That was another reason Orion had finally decided to come here after three long years.

Now, he looked around the library, brushing cobwebs away from his face as he lit a small fire in his hands to see better in the dark. He ran his free against the spines of the books that remained, trying to feel for anything that was out of place, even the slightest. When he found nothing, the ground beneath him had suddenly given way and soon fell further underground than before.

The fall seemed to be longer than possible seeing as how he was on an island, but eventually he hit solid ground. He felt like he had been hit full force buy a truck yet he forced himself up only to realize that he couldn't see a thing.

He reignited the fire in his had and soon saw just how far he had fallen. Orion merely whistled and assumed that how far he had really fallen but turned his attention to his dark when he shined his flame in front of him, he saw a young woman with magnificent flowing hair wearing almost angelic golden armor. What stood out , however, was that for every beautiful about her, there were a dozen things horribly wrong. Her magnificent golden hair was dripping and covering her face as it dripped freshly drawn blood. Her armor was nigh-useless, as there was nearly a dozen black spike piercing her body. She her had her arms extending in opposite directions by chains that forced her to her knees while her head simply looked to the ceiling. Her face was covered by golden blood streaked hair, and Orion was about to look up as well, but the woman actually moved her head down and looked in Orion's direction.

Through he blood-soaked, defeated appearance, Orion saw the woman's sky blue eyes. In them was a look of despair, and sadness coupled dripping tears of blood that formed a small pool of blood in front of her.

Orion simply stood there dumbfounded, not knowing what to say let alone what to do. He threw the flame he had in his hand into the air as it became a small illuminating sphere of blue flames. He took a breathe and walked towards the chained woman.

" What are you ? ", Orion asked the woman who simply looked at him with a dull gaze as blood continued to trickle from her eyes. Despite looking in directions, the woman seemed to simply be looking past him, as if he wasn't there.

" A shell of my formerself; a being that was cast down from the heavens for choosing to help humans," the woman said, though it seemed like she was just speaking and not directly talking to Orion. She slowly made weak eye-contact with Orion who looked at the chains that were holding the woman down.

" Wait, Heaven ? Does that mean that you're an angel or something ? " Orion asked the woman who laid her face down in the pool of blood in front her. She suddenly began to break down, cry, scream and pull on her chains to no avail.

" I LOST THE RIGHT TO CALL MYSELF AN ANGEL ! ", she screamed in agony as the spear that impaled her began to glow and give off a feeling that Orion himself was familiar with, " I LOST EVERYTHING ! MY SISTERS, MY BROTHER ,MY GRACE, MY PRIDE, MY HOME ! "

" Did Chaos do this to you ? " Orion asked the woman who suddenly ceased her screaming as the ground around them began to tremble and shake. The woman began to pull with all her might before letting out a mirror-shattering, blood curling yell of anger and pain.

" THAT ACCURSED DEMON ! THIS WAS ITS DOING ! I LOST EVERYTHING BECAUSE I WASN'T STRONG ENOUGH ! IF I COULD, I WOULD MY REVENGE !"

" Then what ? " Orion asked suddenly, causing the woman's fit and ground's shaking to stop.

The woman raised her head and for the first time directly looked at Orion who's own face was hidden behind his hair, " If by some means, you finally escape, and somehow destroyed Chaos, what would you do then ? You said you were cast out of the Heaven, so if even if after everything, what does it matter in the end. Tell me, what would do after you defeated Chaos ? "

" Why do you care, do you feel sorry for me ? All suffering in the world is born from an individual's incompetence. After everything I...wouldn't know what to do...Most likely end my life," The woman admitted as lowered her head again, but this time in shame.

" Exactly, my point. I don't feel sorry for you, or for anyone that is obsessed with revenge like I was. It's not because we can't take vengeance that we should feel sorry. The real reason to feel sorry... is when one is hung up on revenge and can't live their own life. You said that you'd take your life if you could your revenge on Chaos, but in reality you'd fail again," Orion walked through the bloodied stone and couched down in front of the woman.

She raised her head and looked at him as he wiped the blood from her eyes. " I need your help. It's obvious that you're the thing that I'm supposed to set free, so let's work together. I know that I can't take Chaos on by myself and neither can you, but for right now the least I can do is save you. I have a feeling that your sisters are alive so I'll need you to trust me."

" Your kindness...is well received. My name is Amira. What is yours ? " Amira asked Orion who rose to his feet and dusted of his clothes.

" Orion."

" Your kindness is well received, but you can free me. The truth is that this chamber is not only trapped, but these cannot be severed. These spikes are crystals that restrict me from calling upon my strength. Not only that, these spikes are enchanted, they are cursed chains that bind there captive to the very Earth. Even if you removes these spikes, the chains will not release me. Look around, I ran out of tears and soon cried blood in their absence."

" Enchanted or not, I'm freeing you. I give my word, I'll free you Amira. First," Orion said as quickly yanked a spike out of Amira's torso, " these have to go."

The pain to Amira was worth it in her mind. She withstood the searing, piercing yet jagged pain as Orion meticulously pulled single spike from her body. Next, he felt the chains themselves, carefully examining them and gave them one final look over before he picked up the sounds of metal being dragged across the stone. It drew closer until it's source.

Orion himself was expecting a human or demon carrying a weapon, but instead he came face-to-face or rather face-to-faces with the massive three-headed Beowulf like creature that towered over him. The beast's tail was adorned was gleaming black spikes; the source of the noise from before. The beast itself was adorned with bone like armor like other Grimm, but instead the armor was matte-black and gleamed like freshly polished steel, reflecting some light off the nearly all black behemoth.

The beast turned it's attention to and lowered it's middle head as it growled at Orion. It then opened it's mouth, but what came out wasn't what Orion had expected.

" Mortal, you are trespassing ! Leave now or join the wretched angel ! "

" What a...talkative guard dog you are," Orion taunted the beast, " Sorry pup, but that's not happening. "

" Defiant mortal, learn your place ! "

Several balls of fire spawned from the one that Orion had created for light. They separated and continually divided until nearly a hundred fireballs occupied the area. The beast saw and attempted to lunge at Orion, only for the fireballs to bombard the beast with intense fury as they took the form flaming spear and impaled the beast despite its roars and growls of protest as it was pinned to the ground.

Amira only watched in shock to see a human overpower a demon of such size, let alone the one that had acted as her jailer.

Orion placed his foot on the middle head of the beast, causing it to growl in anger. The beast suddenly broke free of its restraints and quickly rose to its feet as it batted Orion aside in anger.

" Did you really think your pitiful power could defeat a being crafted by my master's own hand ? "

Orion merely sighed and groaned in annoyance as the beast continued to speak through its middle head while the others two gathered flames within their mouths. The beast's two heads released two torrents of the flame mouth their mouths while the middle head spoke.

" Impudent mortal, the power of my master Chaos is absolute ! "

When the beast stopped breathing fire, Orion was nowhere to be seen by the beast. Instead, Amira saw Orion sitting on the creature's head as he slowly to sheath a red katana. When the blade was fully sheathed, the heads on either side of the beast were suddenly severed from their body and hit the ground with a thud.

" Chaos's power might be absolute, but you aren't," Orion remarked as several more slash wounds appeared across the beast's legs, even cutting clearly through its gleaming black armor. The beast fell to its side like the wounded and defeated dog it was. Yet when Orion stepped of its head, it attempted to bite him.

" I shall not be defeated by a human ! You, who are but insects to crush-"

To finish the entire matter Orion quickly drew his blade and in one fluid motion, severed the final head of the beast and sheathed his blade again.

"Learn to heel, mongrel. All your kind ever do is gloat and it reminds me too much of the old me."

The beast's black blood oozed onto the ground and Orion dipped his sword in it as he turned to Amira. He effortlessly cut the chains that bound Amira and sheathed his blade as he caught the exhausted Amira in his arms. He carefully picked up of the tormented angel and looked upwards towards the hole he fell through the first time.

" I thank you, Orion. This place, my captivity, it made me forget who I was. Know that I am forever in your debt," Amira said with gratefulness. Orion merely smirked as he stepped both her and the beast's blood and stood in the onto the light from the only hole in the ceiling.

Amira merely watched as the area around suddenly gave way to the most brilliant golden flames that she had ever seen. Yet, they felt familiar to her, but put the thought aside as flames slowly propelled them out of the dark and through the hole in the ceiling. They re-entered the archives and shortly after Orion walked them out to the front of the temple. He continued to carry her until he had come to where had set up camp on the beach of the island.

Orion helped Amira sit down against a log and stretched briefly. He sat down on the sand nearby Amira as he searched through a bag that was lying nearby. Amira concluded that Orion must have been here for some time as he pulled a book from the bag. The book itself didn't look special, but surprised was that Orion simply turned the bag upside down and dumped the remaining contents onto the sand.

There was an assortment of paper scrolls, old tomes and a random photo that Orion quickly picked up from the pile of items and tucked away into his pocket.

" How exactly did you find this island ?" Amira asked Orion who didn't look up at her.

" Three years ago, me and several other fought Elias and managed to beat him. Since then, I've been travelling the world for several reasons. For one, I had to see the world for myself and see what was really happening. I was blinded by hate and wanted nothing more than to just see the world burn. Now, I realize how wrong I really was. While the world may be wrong, I was more wrong than it. I found old archives about the history of Remnant. I decided that if Remnant could change for the better, than so could I. The second reason was to train to defeat Chaos. It turns out that Chaos is going to return at some point and I'm one of the three people who can defeat it. So, I travelled to the most inhospitable places, trained intensely by surviving wave after wave of Grimm in the worst places and finally mastering the full use of my semblance and honing my skills. " Orion explained to Amira who listened intently, "My last reason is because I was branded an enemy of the kingdoms of Vale and Atlas."

" I'm terribly sorry to hear that. You've been branded a threat when you only seek to make amends for what you've done," Amira said kindly. Her words of encouragement caused Orion to smile happily as he took a deep breath.

" Being an international enemy practically guarantees that every camera, law enforcement and hunter is looking for you. I don't though, I caused a lot of pain and eventually all the pain I've caused is going to come full circle."

" So you are one of the humans of prophecy, The Fallen Flame. I should have excepted such." Amira said thoughtfully.

" I'm still confused about this whole prophecy thing. Could explain it ? " Orion asked Amira who began to draw in the sand with a nearby stick.

" The world is a complex thing. Reality changes, but the past is set in the stars and stone while the future is as ever-changing as the seas and skies. Chaos is a being from an entirely separate world like me. Your human stories have called it many names, but my people have always called it the Netherworld. It is a land of infinite darkness, home to countless demons and prowlers of the night. Chaos was among the most powerful and thus was the only demon capable of travelling between its world, and yours."

Orion walked over to where Amira was and looked at the drawing she had made. It showed three separate spaces with lines connecting two, while a dotted line connected those two to a separate space.

" So, the dotted line is when this world and Chaos's world are linked ? " Orion asked Amira who nodded in approval.

" Very correct, Orion. My world and Chaos's world were linked since the beginning of time. The demons of the Netherworld seek to expand their influence and rule all three worlds. When the last eclipse had occurred, Chaos was ready and travelled from its world to yours. I'm sure you know the story of how man was born into a world of darkness, but this is not true. Humans were already present and making a life for themselves when Chaos and the darkness arrived," Amira explained to Orion who's curiosity caused him to question her.

" Then why do nearly all the stories I've heard say that the Grimm were here first ? "

" It is easier to create a new truth than to acknowledge one that reveals more than one can understand. To early humans, the thought of another world was simply to much to bear so they created a new truth. While in Heaven, my brethren noticed what Chaos was doing and this caused a rift between us. Some wished to help the humans, while others wanted to let humans fight their own battles. Me and many other angels wanted to help, but the general consensus was to let you fight your own battles. The penalty for helping humans was being cast out of Heaven. My sisters, brother and I secretly gave aid to humans. We battled alongside your people and taught them the use of Dust and their auras. When we were discovered, we were forbidden to return to our homes. During our banishment, we trained several humans to harness their powers to the pinnacle of their abilities. One such human was-"

" Elias Arc," Orion said, already knowing who.

" Yes, one of brethren trained Elias himself. He taught him light manipulation, telekinesis and trained him in swordsmanship. My sister trained your ancestors in ways of fire, and how to harness it. Of course, power corrupts and your bloodline is no exception. Your forefathers had an affinity for violence, and thus their flames that were once used for good were used to fuel their own lust for power. Elias killed your many of your bloodline in order to prevent them from becoming something more horrible than themselves."

" Can you explain what this prophecy is."

" I was getting to that. In my home, there was scripture that foretold the future. Many of its kind foretell what shall happen in the future. While the future can be changed, this prophecy dictates the fate of the three worlds and thus is believed to be among one of the true ones. The Fallen Flame , the Divine Light and the Celestial Wielder shall join together and traverse the dark to fight its source. Then one shall stay behind to save the remnant of life. I shall break this down for you."

" Please do," Orion said gratefully.

" The Fallen Flame, a warrior who was born into the world hated. He or she is shunned by humanity, but is loved by enough to continue living. This warrior controls fire capable of burning the shadows. Sound familiar ? "

" Too familiar," Orion said as he motioned for Amira to continue.

" The Divine Light, a warrior capable of wielding and creating sacred light. Like light itself, this warrior was once a light before becoming a shine beacon and ray of honor and conviction."

Orion sword silently, already remembering his last encounter with Jaune. Instead of the fight they previously had were Jaune had only survived because he had help, Jaune and him had fought each other to a complete standstill. Though they both were holding back, Orion had expected an easier fight than last time.

" Would you like to know about the Celestial Wielder as well ? " Amira asked Orion who shook his head.

" No, I've heard enough. Just tell me what the last part means."

" It implies that one of the three will make the ultimate sacrifice to protect humanity, but all prophecies can be misinterpreted."

" Well that's helpful, but last question. How exactly were chained up ? That three headed Beowulf couldn't have done it itself, so what happened ? "

" Chaos," Amira answered mournfully, " When Grimm appeared, courtesy of Chaos, my kin and I were the first ones to fight them. We had previous experience, so we taught those skills to humans as well. When Chaos learned of this, it personally dealt with us. Even with the might of four us, Chaos defeated us. I saw two of my kin defeated like I was while I told my youngest sister to flee while she could. The last I saw of her, she was being hunted down by Chaos's hounds. Whether she survived or not is beyond my knowledge. I'm not omniscient sadly. Now may I ask you a favor ? "

Orion looked at Amira curiously and asked, " What do you need ? "

" It would bring me great comfort if you could raze that temple to the ground. I simply can't stand the sight of it, and the fact that it was once a place of worship to Chaos disgust me."

Orion nodded and helped Amira to her feet. She put an arm around his neck to support herself as he summoned his golden flames and created wings to ascend into the sky. When they were hovering above the island, he opened his palm and aimed downward.

" I'll do you one better," he said as blue flames trailed up his arms and created a floating blue fireball in front of him, " Might as well wipe the entire island of the map."
