Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto
Author's Note: Thank you for all the support and comments.
St3fire: I don't plan on giving this up. There will be an end to it…when that happens though I don't know!
Logan Locke: Thank you for your post. I look forward to a longer review. A flair for Erotica huh? Lol, thank you. I have to admit I never intended to write 'lemon' scenes for anyone when I started out writing but with this story I couldn't not show their love and passion for each other when writing about their relationship. I try not to go over board though. It is the support of all the fans on here that have given me confidence to explore my writing that little bit more.
Well I hope you enjoy the next chapter just as much. I admit I am a little nervous about this one but decided to post it anyway. There has been a time skip of a few months now…just in case any of you get confused…
From the Heart
Chapter 28
Naruto held his eyes tightly shut as the sun light started to creep through the curtain. He grimaced and yawned, turning over to avoid the brightness and try to extend his slumber. His arm came in contact with something warm, drawing him closer. He explored the soft curves of Sakura and slowly wrapped his arm around her waist, opening his eyes slightly and moving into a spoon like position. He rested his head by hers and took in her soapy scent. She stirred slightly from his touch and relaxed into him, lost to her own dreams. He kissed her head softly and relaxed into the bed. The hand around her waist subconsciously stroked over the now protruding bump and he smiled to himself. It had been a good few months now since the good news and Sakura was no longer suffering from morning sickness. It had been worrying for a while when she struggled to keep things down but she had managed to cope with it well. He thought about everything that had happened during that time and realised they had been some of the best months in his life. Well, except for her lessons with Lady Tsunade…that old hag was frightening.
Naruto felt something and his relaxing trip down memory lane suddenly froze. Movement under his hand caused him to jerk awake in shock and sit up. Sakura stirred from the sudden cold that hit her when the cover moved and turned to face him, seeking his warmth. He moved his hand over the bump again and felt nothing at first. Just as he let out a hefty sigh and calmed his nerves the bump moved again and he flinched. He pulled the cover back, not thinking to his sleeping partner's needs and stared at her bump, refusing to blink. Sakura's night top moved slightly and she groaned in discomfort at the same time. Naruto couldn't help but think he was imagining things but to be certain he slowly lifted her top up slightly and jumped back, falling out of the bed and landing hard on the floor.
Sakura opened her eyes at the sound of a thud and turned to find Naruto nursing his head in his hand on the floor, "what's wrong?" she asked with a sleepy tone as she rubbed her eyes.
Naruto's head shot up and he looked at her like he had seen a ghost or something. A shaking hand pointed at her and he stammered, "it…mo..v..ed!"
Sakura's eyes opened wide in surprise and she suddenly became aware of the movement inside her. She sat up and placed a hand on her bump. She had forgotten that he had been on a lot of missions lately and missed this. Upon feeling their baby kick again she smiled and her cheeks showed a rosy colour. It was a great feeling having something growing inside of you. She became aware of a blur of fuzzy blond hair popping up from the side of the bed and turned to meet his curious blue eyes.
"Is it supposed to do that?" he asked.
"It?" Sakura repeated, sighing, "This is your child Naruto" she pointed out, "don't call them an 'it'" she scolded.
He climbed back onto the bed and sat cross legged beside her, "sorry" he apologised. She was right but without knowing if their child was a boy or a girl it was difficult to be able to call them anything but 'it'. He watched in a trance as Sakura pulled up her top and felt the baby kick again. Her flesh moved up and down and made Naruto think of nothing but some kind of alien. It freaked him out a little but the more he sat there watching and feeling it the bigger the smile that crossed his face.
"He will be quite the ninja" Naruto commented, amazed at the force of the blow to his hand, "do you think he could master taijutsu?"
Sakura replied with a raised brow; "who said our baby is a boy?"
Naruto grinned, "Well from the power of their kick it might be a girl" he stated, "strong like her mum"
Sakura blushed a little and stroked her stomach a few more times with her hands, "I wonder what they will look like and who they will take after?" she thought out loud.
Naruto moved to her side and placed himself behind her, stroking the bump and holding her in his arms as he rested his head on her shoulder, sniffing her hair and praying their child was pink too.
"I hope they don't have my hair colour" Sakura blurted out, disappointing him.
"Why?" he asked, "I like it"
"because if it is a boy he will look stupid" she pointed out. Naruto stopped to think for a minute to envisage it and admitted that she was probably right.
"Naruto…do you think they will be bullied at school?" she asked out of the blue, remembering her own childhood experience and his and wondering what could happen.
"No" he replied confidently.
"What makes you so sure? Children can be cruel" she remarked.
"because they will have us as parents…two of the strongest ninja's in the leaf. Not to mention the future Hokage" he commented proudly, tapping a hand to his own chest. He was under training after all.
Sakura smiled, she knew he was right. He was no longer seen as the man with the demon inside him and she also was no longer seen as having a huge forehead. Together they were strong and she realised that whichever one of them their child took after, they would be fine. She moved away from him and sat on the edge of the bed, stretching and yawning before checking the time and turning to look at him. He wore the expression of a child, disappointed to have lost her warmth.
"I have to get ready for work" she commented. It was good keeping busy but the pregnancy did have a tendency to knock all of the energy from her. Moving around wasn't easy either. She was nearing her 8th month period and her back and joints ached. She felt swollen like a balloon and waddled around the place, yet she was determined to not take her maternity leave early and try to save as much money as they could. Naruto himself had been working many hours and missions, on top of his training with Tsunade. Not to mention the secret training he was beginning to take behind the scenes with Kakashi. He was just as worn out as she was these days and they barely had any time together. Between work and training they had their domestic chores to do and the re-decorating of the apartment ready to put up for sale so they could buy a bigger place.
She leant into him and kissed him softly on the lips before standing up and out of the bed, "so what are your plans on your day off?" she asked.
Naruto studied her and shrugged, "I thought I would get some exercise in" he lied, he had plenty of exercise already.
"Then you can run into town and get some more information on recent housing developments" she offered. His shoulders slumped, sure moving was an exciting prospect but the work you had to put into it was a nightmare.
"and don't forget our classes tonight" she reminded him.
He nodded and tapped his forehead, "yep, it's all in here"
"Good" she stated "cause it's embarrassing when you don't show or are late" she remarked before leaving the room.
Naruto looked over at his chest of drawers and jumped off the bed. He opened the top one and rummaged around for a small envelope that he had stuck under the top of the cabinet, near the back. He pulled it off and checked its contents. The shining pink diamond sparkled back at him and he grinned. He had finally saved up enough money to be able to get the gem fitted into a band and today he was going to a jewellers to get it all sorted.
The bedroom door sounded behind him and he rammed the envelope in the drawer slamming it closed and spinning around in mass panic all within a split second. Sakura stood and watched him suspiciously but chose to say nothing.
"Can you pass me my robe?" she asked, pointing to the gown hanging on the front of the wardrobe door.
"Eh…yes" Naruto stammered, rubbing his sweaty hands down his pants and taking the item down to pass to her.
"Are you alright?" she asked, worried about his sudden demeanour.
"All good!" Naruto rasped, grinning and waving his hands in an exaggerated way.
Sakura raised an eyebrow as she looked at him, "what are you hiding?" she asked, suspicious, but her question only succeeded in causing him to sweat more.
"N..nothing!" he lied, desperate to placate her.
"Naruto you are a bad liar" Sakura pointed out, tapping a finger on his chest and forcing him back a few steps until his back hit the cabinet.
Naruto began to panic. She was onto him but he had to throw her off the scent somehow.
"Shall I look myself?" she asked, reaching out to place a hand on the cabinet.
"NO!" Naruto grabbed her wrist and pushed her back. She watched him patiently, waiting for an explanation. "It's a surprise" he blurted out, immediately regretting it. If she figured it was for her she would probably be able to guess and he didn't want to spoil it. Thinking as fast as he had ever thought before he lowered his head and grimaced, please believe me, he prayed, "for the baby…" he breathed. There was an awkward silence for a moment and Sakura finally moved away from him, "I won't pry any more" she promised, determined to secretly look later when he wasn't around. As she left the room Naruto's body gave way and he held a hand to his chest as his heart beat threatened to break through. If I feel like this now how the hell will I feel when I actually do it? He wondered, panic slowly over taking excitement.
…
Ino looked at the time on the tower clock for the 10th time that morning as she waited for a knucklehead ninja. He was late, which didn't surprise her, but was infuriorating nevertheless. Growing more and more impatient she started to pace back and forth until she saw him making his way up the street. She made it evident in her body language that she was not impressed, her arms crossed and foot tapping on the ground with a raised eyebrow and vein throbbing in her forehead.
"Took you long enough" she remarked.
Naruto bowed his head in apology and she noted his panting, he had clearly run to her.
"I take it forehead took her time getting ready as usual?" Ino asked, coming to her own conclusions about her friend before unfolding her arms. She really couldn't blame him if that were the case.
Naruto stood up straight, having now caught his breathe and ran a hand through his blond locks, "Yeah something like that" he remarked, only irritating her further. Ino sucked in a deep breath and slowly released it again in the form of a sigh.
"Right then, you got what we need?" she asked. He nodded and pulled out an envelope from his pocket as well as what looked like a frog purse that was full to the seams of cash. "Good, then let's get started!" Naruto was suddenly surprised by her change of aura and sudden cheery attitude. It was reassuring for the whole of 1 minute. The moment she linked arms with him and started to drag him around town he would soon realise that shopping with Ino was a mission in itself.
…..
Naruto sank into the seat and rested his head on the back of it like his body had merged with the curves of the cushions. "Man, this is harder than I thought" he complained. Ino watched him from the opposite side of the table and sipped at her drink. He was jealous of how composed she was and how she looked like she hadn't broken a sweat all day.
"Well it is a special occasion" she pointed out, "you want it to be perfect right?"
Naruto dragged his heavy body to force it to lean forward and rested his arms on the table in front of them, "yeah I know" he sighed. A waitress came over and put their meals on the table. He picked up his chop sticks and began playing with his food. He had been surprised at how many different designs of rings that were out there. Not to mention the different metals, different prices and all the measuring and bartering that went on. He had hoped he would just know it when he saw it but it was made harder and as he needed to have something specially made he couldn't just ask them to put the gem he had into anything and not expect a charge.
On top of that Ino's ruthless approach with the sales people and her attempts to dispute the prices caused them to be thrown out of at least 2 stores already. The whole point of having the woman with him was to make this easier. She was Sakura's best friend and so knew and understood her tastes better than he did. She was also of a similar build and so getting the accurate ring size was easier if he used her. However, Ino had pointed out to him that Sakura's fingers are likely to be swollen from the pregnancy so the ring would need to be bigger but then may also need to be resized after the birth. This just meant more money Naruto had not accounted for. Then there was the decision to make as to whether or not it should be engraved and he was torn as to what to have written.
"Arrrgh" he gripped his hair and sank his head onto the table.
"Well this would have been easier if you had planned ahead a little" Ino chastised, eating her salad. "I mean, I can't believe you haven't even decided on how you will do it"
Naruto lifted his head up and glared at the woman in front of him for making his life hell in that instant. He already felt bad enough from the way she had gone on at him before but she was one who liked to keep digging it in a little at a time. His irritable mood started to show and he sulked, leaning back and crossing his arms, "its not easy for a man you know" he stated clearly, trying to defend him self.
"It should be!" Ino remarked with her nose in the air, "It isn't our fault if you guys can't understand us properly" she remarked, speaking for all women in the world.
Naruto scoffed, "I feel sorry for Sai" he remarked under his breath.
"What was that?!" she snapped, leaning forward and threatening to beat the crap out of him.
"Well come on!" Naruto snapped back, leaning in and meeting her head on, "you women change your minds all the time. You can't just say what you think and use all sorts of tricks and ploys to get what you want! Why does everything to you have to be all drama and expense?"
Ino leant back almost certain his dig was towards her more than Sakura. "Who said we want drama and expense?" she quoted. Naruto felt his own veins throbbing in irritation.
"But before you said…." He argued but she raised a hand to shush him.
"All I said was it needed to be special" she commented, "Special doesn't mean expensive"
"Alright then why don't you give me some ideas" he challenged her half expecting her to tell him it was something he had to do on his own and leave him hanging.
"Well, look at it like this…" Ino commented, "the most common ways people propose are" she raised a hand to show one digit at a time as she reamed a list off, "restaurants, in bed, in a hotel somewhere abroad, on a beach, at a popular historic attraction or at a party with other people"
Naruto listened carefully, "so are you suggesting I do one of those?" he asked.
"No" she replied, "it's too cliché"
Naruto frowned. Ino was proving his point, women walking around the answer instead of coming directly to it. "Firstly, the place needs to be somewhere of importance for you both if you really want it to be romantic, not just a place somewhere that you have never been before"
Naruto's mind started to race, thinking of all the places he and Sakura had been together and which would be the perfect one. The problem was many of them were places of missions or somewhere that Sasuke had been to as well.
"Think about this…the first place you went to on your first date" Ino offered, "or the day of your anniversary as to when you met…" she seemed pleased with herself but it got Naruto seriously thinking for a moment.
"Then you need to decide if you want to be alone with her or do it in front of an audience" Ino offered, "like friends or family"
Naruto nodded, if there was one thing he was certain of it was that he wanted to be alone with her.
"Then you have to think about how you will do it" she pointed out. "Traditionally you should go down on one knee…that's what Kiba did" she added. Naruto sat taking mental notes and remained lost in thought for a moment until her last comment finally sunk into his brain.
"EH?!" he started to freak out and grabbed onto the table, "when did this happen?"
"You mean you don't know?" Ino asked, she sighed, "honestly Naruto, where the hell have you been lately? It's old news now that Hinata and Kiba are betrothed."
Naruto felt bad for not knowing and not having congratulated the pair but he had been so busy on missions and training lately that he hadn't time for Sakura, let alone their friends. "I am happy for them" he finally spoke up.
Ino was surprised by his comment, half expecting him to be jealous that the wolf had done something before he had. Then again Naruto had a similar reaction when he found out Gaara was Kazekage. He was proud of his friends reaching their dreams. If anything such news only made this man before her strive to try harder. That part of him would never stop impressing her. Most people would have given up by now or made excuses or complained at the fact they were still behind. She studied him as he looked out of the window and slowly saw the cogs in his brain working over time. After a few moments his usual cheery and energetic self had pulled through.
"Right! Food for fuel and then back to it!" he exclaimed, proceeding to rush through his meal and then gulp his drink down. Ino wasn't surprised that he then proceeded to choke and had to ram a fist into his chest a few times.
"You'll make yourself sick" she stated, parenting him. Yet little did she realise that his behaviour had a subconscious effect on her own and she too started to pick up the pace a little, not wanting to be left behind.
….
Sakura sat looking at the clock and around at the people in the room who were waiting patiently yet again for the father of her child.
"I am sorry about this, he is coming" she reaffirmed, embarrassed.
"He is probably held up helping someone out again" Temari mused, trying to cheer Sakura up a little and ignoring the presence of her partner who had only just dragged his ass in himself.
"Well I guess we might as well get started" the woman announced as she clapped her hands together. All of the women in the room moved to adjust their positions and lean into their partners that knelt behind them. Practising breathing helped to relax and prepare both parties but it never felt the same when you had nothing but a cushion or the woman leading the group doing it, especially when everyone else in the room had their partners there.
The door made a sound behind them and Sakura's heart skipped a beat, about time! She thought, turning to look at the late comer. Her eyes widened in surprise.
"Oh, it looks like we have a new couple…welcome" the trainer stated with a smile, standing to guide a heavy Karin into the room and showing her where to sit. The handsome and yet scornful face of the dark haired Uchiha caused everyone in the room to suck in a breath.
"Sasuke…." Sakura spoke his name in surprise and her wide opened eyes followed him as he entered the room and reluctantly sat down behind the red head. It was clear he did not wish to be there but even so he had to provide support to the woman carrying his child and Karin would have caused a huge hissy fit if he left one of the other two to help her out. It had been over a year since he left the village to go on his travels and this was the first time he had been seen since. It was evident that if Karin was not so obviously pregnant that he probably wouldn't be there at all.
Sasuke's dark eyes looked directly across at Sakura and she felt her body go numb a little and watched the jealous scorn that Karin sent her way. He nodded slightly to acknowledge her presence and she watched his eyes look up and down her. The intensity of his gaze left her feeling a little uncomfortable. Even he made it on time, she realised, jealous and frustrated. She turned her sorrow into anger purely to avoid the tears from falling. Damn hormones! Naruto I swear you are a dead man! She yelled in her head.
"So who is the father?" Sasuke asked her bluntly.
In that moment the door slammed open and the sound of someone tripping, falling and crashing into something echoed through the room. Sakura sighed with embarrassment…this time there was no doubt as to who it was.
"Sorry!" Naruto rasped, taking off his jacket and shoes in a rush and dumping them on the ground like an uncivilised animal. He scanned the room, his face all flushed and spotted the head of pink that scowled at him and turned away in anger. He gulped and grinned anxiously knowing full well he was in trouble. He crouched on his knees and bowed low in front of her and the rest of the people in the room, "I'm sorry" he stated again, knowing giving an excuse would only make her angrier and telling her the truth wasn't an option either.
"Um…well, thank you Naruto" the older woman announced, "why don't you get into position and we can get started". Naruto nodded and scrambled behind Sakura, reaching out to hold her and cringing when she stiffened in response to his touch, clearly wanting to back away from him. He reached his hands in front of her to take hers, as per usual, and she responded by squeezing them so tightly that he bit his lip and started to sweat until he couldn't take any more and screamed out in pain, landing on a curled heap on his side when she finally let go.
"My apologies" Sakura spoke up but not to him, only to the others in the room.
"Some things never change" Karin commented, "still an idiot as always" she remarked with an evil grin, enjoying the little show. She had thought it would be boring but Sasuke had been insistent that she have the best treatment so she dragged him back to Konoha for that reason. He had been reluctant at first but she was adamant to learn about the secrets that Konoha held on Sasuke's past. That and she knew as much as he complained it was also one of the only places he was ever relaxed in and close to happiness.
Naruto looked up at the familiar voice from his position on the floor, still nursing a hand with potential broken bones in it. His vision started to focus and the first thing he saw was a pair of legs, then a huge bump and a scary couple looking back at him. Sasuke scoffed and a small grin was on his face, clearly finding enjoyment in his own misfortune. The appearance of the pair caused Naruto to jump up and point at them with his mouth opening and closing and an odd sound coming out of him in surprise.
"I think what he wants to know is when you guys got here" Shikamaru offered with a sigh.
Karin looked up at Sasuke and he finally answered, "This morning"
"We had to report to the hokage first" Karin explained, "Then check in on our home" she looked over to the pink and blond pair before them, "it looks like someone has been looking after it" she stated, "I wonder who it could be".
"Who indeed" Sakura replied with a cold tone. Naruto looked at his partner and back up to the others. He knew she was the one to go and clean it every now and then. He sometimes helped too, but why Sakura didn't want to let them know that he couldn't figure it out. Being her partner though he had learnt a long time ago to not contradict her and remain silent on small matters. He was already in her bad books as it was.
"It would seem you have been busy" Sasuke pointed out.
Naruto blushed, "as have you" he acknowledged. Both men were still too proud to greet each other properly. Sakura knew Naruto was most likely trying to hold back the urge of shaking Sasuke's hand or making some kind of rude remark.
"Will you be staying long?" Temari asked, trying to make an awkward situation easier.
"Until the baby is born" Sasuke confirmed. The group of friends couldn't help but wonder what he meant by that, surely they weren't going to take a baby on their travels with them? Although looking at the slightly saddened expression on the red head it might be the case that only one of them was staying behind.
"Excuse me, but if you don't mind, please keep your conversation until another time" the older woman leading the group finally found the confidence to butt in, growing angry at the constant interruptions.
"Sorry" Sakura announced, elbowing Naruto to force him out of his stupor and back to reality. He barely flinched at her aggressive touch, already being used to it, and settled back behind her. This time she was much more relaxed. As he helped her to take deep breathes he glanced over at the Uchiha. He kept giving his childhood friend sneaky glances throughout the rest of the session and grew irritated by the man's purposeful attempts to ignore him or the glances of others in the room. Damn him, Naruto thought, he even makes this look cool…not even a hint of embarrassment on his face, always making me look like an idiot! He scanned the pair carefully and watched Karin's discomfort. As she wriggled he noticed something glisten and shine in the light. The identity of a ring on the woman's finger made him cringe. Even Sasuke is ahead of me, he realised, struggling to imagine his friend actually asking the question and convincing himself that Karin had forced the issue. He knew Sasuke would not want to make a big issue of it and was very secretive. Naruto however, he wanted to make the whole world see and know his feelings.
"Sakura are you alright?" Temari's voice broke through Naruto's thoughts and he suddenly realised his partner's breathing was a little disjointed. She let go of his hands, grasping her stomach and leaning forward in agony.
"Sakura-chan!" Naruto moved to her side to look at her, placing a hand on her back and allowing her to grip hold of the other one, nearly crushing him. Her face contort and it sent worry through his stomach to his head, making it harder to think or concentrate.
"Let me see" their teacher announced, rushing to their aid and crouching before the younger woman. She placed a hand on Sakura's stomach and then her head, followed by her wrist. She was then forced to move back a little as Sakura stated, "oh no" and looked down at the pool of fluid that now stained her clothing. "Oh my" the teacher stated in surprise.
Naruto glanced at her while holding Sakura in his arms, "what is it?" he asked.
"It would seem her water has broken" she announced.
"EHHH?!" Naruto's heart raced and panic started to run through him, "bbbbbbbuuuutttt she…early….no…now?" he stammered.
The woman smiled, "admittedly this is a surprise…you have another month to go at least, but it is not uncommon for premature births….especially if the body has been under stress lately or had a sudden surprise" the older woman reassured. All eyes landed on the Uchiha and his partner.
"Don't look at us…it's most likely due to you being late and a pain in her ass" Karin chastised, defending herself, but also showing some worry and concern for the woman before her. Naruto cringed and felt guilty at having let her down a little.
Sakura's cry caused everyone's attention to go back to her. Their teacher placed a hand on Naruto's shoulder and forced him to focus his attention on her, "remember what I have taught you" the woman announced. He nodded and used his strength to hold Sakura up and started to breathe with her, encouraging her to take slower and deeper breathes.
"This…is all YOUR…fault!" Sakura panted, sweat covering her now and her face red and flushed. Naruto wasn't able to reply to her. His mind was on nothing but breathing. It was the only thing he could do right now to stop himself from panicking.
"Here" Sasuke's voice broke their attention, "use this" he offered, having brought a wheelchair over from the corner of the room. They all looked up at him and he sighed. They were in a hospital for christ's sake and yet no one yet had the mind to get her to a doctor? He wondered sometimes how these guys managed to defeat Madara and himself so easily.
Naruto studied Sasuke and his presence and input forced him out of his stupor. He wouldn't be shown up this time! It was his child and he would take responsibility for it. He helped lift Sakura up with Shikamaru's help and sat her in the chair. "Are you alright Sakura-chan?" he asked, just to reassure himself more than anything. The glare she gave him told him she would have killed him if she had the energy.
"Does she look like it?" Temari replied as if speaking Sakura's mind. Naruto gulped and rubbed sweat away from his head and eyes to compose himself.
"Its times like this men should learn to keep their mouths shut" Karin added. Naruto nodded in understanding and bit his lip. He knew they were right but for him it wasn't an easy task. The woman he loved was in pain and their baby was coming early. He had the right to get emotional about it and find a need to make sure she was still responsive.
"Follow me" their teacher urged. Naruto pushed Sakura in the direction of the maternity ward in the fasted speed he had ever run in his life.
"Are they going to be okay?" Temari asked, as she stood with the others, watching the blond man. Naruto proceeded to trip, nearly causing the wheelchair to tumble. He bowed in apology and a pale arm reached out from the chair to grab his top and pull him in. Sakura was clearly threatening him from the look on his face.
"Who knows" Shikamaru remarked, "with Sakura's strength Naruto will be lucky to come out alive."
"The only one who can handle Sakura is Naruto" Sasuke spoke up. The others looked at him and smiles appeared on their faces. He was right off course. In everything that they did it was Naruto that helped Sakura come out of her shell. It was Naruto that made her be honest with herself and her feelings and open up to people. He made her stronger and he could take the full force of her strength and recover from it as if it was nothing. He made her laugh and he doted on her like a love sick puppy. Yes, for sure, there was no better match.
"Um Sasuke…" Karin's voice broke their conversation and the three of them turned to look at the woman that stood staring at a puddle on the floor.
Shikamaru turned and studied Temari, clearly checking to make sure she wasn't also going to drop at the same time. The female swiped him across the head and crossed her arms for being so stupid. "It's clear she is further gone than I am" she explained. Shikamaru sighed in relief.
"Well, don't just stand there!" Karin snapped at the Uchiha who stood motionless and in a daze, but when he failed to respond immediately she got irritated and barged past him, "geez do I have to do everything on my own!" she complained, wandering down the hall.
Sasuke gritted his teeth and made a 'tch' sound before finally turning around and following after her. When he caught up to her she went to throw him a punch but he caught it, grasping her wrist and pulling her close to him before lifting her off her feet and into his arms. Karin protested but the blush on her cheeks showed how she secretly enjoyed it.
"Wow…they don't have it easy…Naruto and Sasuke" Shikamaru commented. Both women they had chosen were feisty.
Temari glanced at him, "So are you going to explain why you were late?" she asked. Her question made him cringe, me either, he thought.
…..
Author's Note: Well a little surprise there to have the Uchiha back. Someone had requested that I show what is happening with Sasuke and Karin so I thought I should add a little something, although I find Sasuke very hard to write. I know this may not satisfy many as some would rather see Sasuke dead but please bear with it.
So babies being born at the same time…could be fate? What gender do you think they should be and what should they look like? Should Sasuke's kid have dark hair or red? Will they have glasses or not? Will Naruto's have green or blue eyes? Will they have whiskers or not? I want to try to step away from how Gaiden presents the children so may have to think on it a little.
Also – how should Naruto propose? Any ideas of where it will take place?
As always though please review and comment.
