A/N: So another one of my super long waits in updating that I always apologize for. I just returned home from vacation where I had no WiFi at all. After you read this chapter you can probably tell that this story is going to have to come to a close in a few chapters. I really hope you guys like it. I tried my best to add some pregnancy stuff without it being super 'fluffy'. Anyway, enjoy reading and please review!

"Voight promised it wouldn't be that long. We are supposed to close this case today", Jay explained through a mouth full of toothpaste as Erin laid in bed.

"I promise Jay I'm going to be fine", Erin said as she sat up in bed trying her best to support her now seventh month pregnant belly, feeling the baby gently kick against her.

"Maggie's most likely going to want to go through her backpack again and make sure she has everything", she explained. "We are going to be fine", Erin reassured him.

Jay and Erin had now been married for two months and everything was going perfectly. The morbid person would say this was just the honeymoon phase of their wedding, but Erin knew it wasn't. She knew that this is how her life would always be. She had the perfect yet crazy husband, a daughter who was about to start school, and a healthy baby growing inside her.

Call it the honeymoon phase all you want, Erin wouldn't believe it for one second.

"I still can't believe Voight is having us work on a Sunday", Jay yelled as he got changed in their closet.

"You just said the case is going to be easy to close", Erin reminded him. "And when you get home Maggie and I will have dinner for you", she explained as he came out of the closet.

"What are you and the baby craving today", Jay teased sitting down on the bed, placing his hands on her stomach.

"Umm, We were thinking pizza", Erin smiled as she felt the baby kick against her. "Ah, that's my wife always the chef", Jay smiled as he leaned forward to kiss her forehead.

"Mommy. Daddy", Maggie asked knocking on the door to their bedroom.

"Come in, baby", Jay stated as Maggie entered the room and jumped on the bed. "Daddy, are you going to work", she asked crawling into the bed and snuggling next to Erin.

"Yes, but it won't take that long", Jay reassured her. "You get to stay home with Mommy and make sure you have everything for school tomorrow", he explained.

"Okay", Maggie agreed as her father leaned down and kissed her forehead gently.

"Alright my girls, I will see you soon", Jay said as he got up from the bed. "Call me if you need anything", Jay added.

"We are going to be fine", Erin reminded him before he left the room.

"Mommy", Maggie called out as she sat at the kitchen table stacking her pencils in one pile and her grand total of two notebooks in another.

"What's up, girly", Erin answered as she waddled down the hallway with one of Jay's t-shirt's on and some loose yoga pants.

"I think I need a different pencil case", Maggie speculated holding up the bright pink one she had.

"You don't like that one", Erin asked as she sat down next to her at the counter.

"I'm just worried not all my stuff is gonna fit in it", Maggie sighed as she began to put her pencils in. "Or it could break", she added.

"Maggie, sweetie, are you nervous", Erin asked as she gently ran a hand through Maggie's hair.

"No", Maggie tried to reassure her mother. Erin gave her a stern look already knowing that she was lying.

"Okay, just a little", Maggie replied honestly. "Why", Erin asked her.

"What if I forget something or if the teacher calls on me to answer a question and I don't know what to say", Maggie suddenly rambled off worries. "Or what if I have no one to sit with at lunch or nobody to play with at recess", she asked.

"Maggie, all of your friends are going to be in your class", Erin reminded her. "And if the teacher asks you a question than you just give the best answer you can", she added.

Maggie simply nodded her head and Erin knew she still didn't completely believe her. "But, you know what's the most important", Erin suddenly announced.

Maggie shook her head and looked up towards her mother. "That you be yourself and you have fun", Erin explained.

"Because if you pretend to not be the loving and funny girl your Daddy and I know you are, than school won't be as fun as you want it to be", she said.

"Trust me, I have experience", Erin smiled as she ran her hands through Maggie's hair.

"You're such a good mommy, Mommy", Maggie said.

"Well, I am lucky I have a good daughter", Erin teased as she pinched her cheeks playfully.

"So, what do you want for lunch, sweet pea", Erin asked walking into the kitchen and looking for some food.

"Mommy", Maggie called out again. "Yeah", Erin responded as she continued to looked into the cabinets.

"Your ring doesn't get caught in my hair any more", Maggie stated not really thinking much of what she was saying.

Erin froze in her place in front of the cabinets. Glancing down at her left hand, Erin immediately noticed she didn't have her rings on. The past two months she never even took off her rings.

"Crap", Erin whispered to herself. Turning around a little too fast, Erin glanced around the perimeter of the room for her rings and did not spot the piece of jewelry anywhere.

"Maggie, have you seen my rings", she asked her daughter.

"YOU LOST THEM", Maggie exclaimed suddenly almost scaring Erin.

"They aren't lost yet because we haven't looked hard enough", Erin answered as she began to look in drawers and cabinets.

"We have to find them before Daddy gets home", Maggie called out as she ran down the hallway towards her parent's bedroom.

"Yes we do", Erin muttered under her breath.

Meanwhile at the District, Jay was wrong about the case being closed quickly. Their simple bust turned into three and hunting down the head guy of the gang causing this mess. After everything had settled down, Jay had shot a text to Erin back at home saying it may be later than he thought and she responded back with a simple 'okay'. Burgess had taken Erin's spot temporarily while she was on maternity leave and Jay didn't mind her as a partner, he did miss his wife though.

"Hey Jay", Kim piped up from Erin's desk as Jay stood up to leave. "Nadia and I wanted to throw Erin a baby shower. You think she would be cool with that", she asked.

"Yeah, Maggie's about to go to school so she will most likely be lonely for the next two months until the baby comes", Jay replied.

"Awesome", Kim smiled. "Could we do it at your house", she asked.

"Of course, Burgess", Jay teased as he reached over and grabbed a few files off of Erin's desk he knew she would want.

"You better not be bringing those to Erin", Voight announced as he came up to the unit with Olinsky.

"She's bored and way behind in her paperwork", Jay defended himself. "You know you are lucky you're my son-in-law, Halstead", Hank responded.

Jay returned home not too late at night and found his apartment almost completely silent. As he entered slowly, Jay took in the mess all over the living room. Couch cushions were out of place, drawers, and cabinets were open. It looked as if a bomb had gone off and on top of that Erin and Maggie were no where to be found.

Waking down the hallway, Jay glanced into Maggie's room and noticed she was passed out on the bed, her room was also a bit of mess.

Before Jay could even enter his own room, he heard small sobs he assumed were Erin's. Peeking his head into the room, the sight of Erin sitting on the bed with a tub of ice cream and some chick flick drowning in the background.

"Hey", Jay said sweetly as he entered the room.

Erin glanced up from her ice cream and saw her husband coming to sit next to her. "Hi", she said sniffling away some tears.

"What is going on here", Jay asked as he toed off his shoes and crawled in next to her.

"Um this movie is on, ice cream sounded good to me and this little baby, and my hormones are out of control", Erin explained. "Also my rings may have gone missing", she added.

Jay turned to her quickly and watched as she began crying again, "I don't know what happened to them and Maggie and I tore apart the apartment and they aren't anywhere", she explained.

"And you know what pregnancy brain exists because I can't remember anything. My ankles are huge. I am ten times bigger than any seven month pregnant woman in the world and yes, I googled them. I have to pee every ten minutes. I can't work", Erin began to ramble on.

Jay stood up from their bed as Erin continued to speak, "And why are you getting up while I am just a bundle of hormones", she stated.

Not answering, Jay opened up his sock drawer and pulled out a small black box. Sitting back down on the bed, Jay handed her the box.

"My rings", Erin whispered as she opened them and put them on carefully.

"Two weeks ago, you said your rings were cutting off your circulation, so I put them somewhere safe", Jay explained.

"I am sorry I freaked out", Erin said as she leaned her head on Jay's chest while he traced gentle patterns on her stomach.

"It's just cause of this little girl who is ready to come out", he stated.

"Boy. Jay. It could easily be a boy", Erin reminded him. "I've done a lot of research about my habits and it says the chances of me having a boy are huge", she explained.

"I guess we'll just have to wait and see"

Erin looked out into her living room and saw her closest friends setting up things for her make shift baby shower. Kim and Nadia had plans for an ordinate party with games and more people, until they caught a case two months ago that they recently just closed.

So, now they were here at Erin's apartment just to open gifts and catch up on some gossip after Voight approved the day off. Once Maggie had heard of the plans, she had practically begged to stay home from school. Even though she had already been in real school for two months, Maggie was doing amazing. She had brand new friends and teachers who liked her. Erin and Jay obviously couldn't be happier. All they had to worry about now was their newest addition.

Erin was now nine months pregnant and looked like she would pop at any second. Her due date wasn't that far away and even though she was nervous Erin was ready to get this over with.

"You guys really don't have to set anything up. It's just us", Erin explained as she took a seat on the couch.

"But, we feel bad", Kim answered sweetly. "Don't feel bad. You guys are getting to work while I sit here and watch TV all day long", Erin explained.

"You will be back soon enough", Nadia said as she brought over a plate of cheese and crackers.

"How's my husband treating you so far", Erin asked Kim. "You're lucky to have him Erin, but I also don't know how you handle him as a work partner", Kim explained.

"Patience is a virtue, Burgess", Erin teased. "Alright enough work talk. I wanna see what's in this giant pile of goodies", she said smiling.

Just as the words left her mouth, there was a knock on Erin's door. "We didn't invite anyone else", Kim shrugged.

Erin mimicked her actions as she stood to open the door. As soon as she opened the door, Erin immediately regretted not looking threw the peephole and pretending she wasn't there.

"Hi Erin", Bunny Lindsay smiled in her doorway.

Erin felt her baby almost do backflips in her stomach and then begin to kick rapidly. "Hi Mom".
