Chapter 28: Farewell Metalhead

A/N: Yeah, I know I should have had this chapter up last week, but I really wasn't in the mood for writing anything. So I've decided to post it up now instead. Thanks to all of those who have read and reviewed thus far. It means so much to me that you're enjoying this story. I also want to say that Tales of a Pizza Delivery Boy has been nominated for Best OC in the 2013 TMNT Fan Fiction Awards on Stealthy Stories. Thanks to whoever nominated it. I'm so proud that you love this story, and I hope I can continue to captivate all of you with Tony's story. So, here we go.

Disclaimer: TMNT and all related characters are property of Nickelodeon. I only own the plot.

When I arrived home from work, I found out that the Turtles were feeling down. Apparently, they'd infiltrated a Kraang base via a portal and had taken Metalhead with them. Leo had begged Donnie to get rid of the robot because he felt that Metalhead was dangerous. I had to agree with Leo because that thing gave me the creeps. I never understood why Don never got rid of it in the first place. Anyway, it turns out Metalhead sacrificed himself in order to save the Turtles so that they could escape. After hearing that, my attitude about the robot definitely changed.

"So where's Donnie?" I asked Leo.

Leo sighed. "He's in his lab. I think he's still upset about what happened."

I decided to head to the lab and knocked on the door when I came to it. I heard Don say, "Come in" in a defeated voice, and I entered. I saw Don sitting in his computer chair and cradling what was left of his creation.

"Hey, Donnie, the guys told me what happened," I said. "I'm really sorry about Metalhead, man. I know how much you liked him."

Don sniffed a little. "Yeah, he was one of the best inventions I ever made," he said sadly. "I just don't get why everything I end up getting close to just gets taken away from me. First Tim and now Metalhead. April was gone for a while, but at least she came back. It wouldn't surprise me if she disappeared sometime in the future, too."

"Hey, don't say that," I begged. "Look, you'll cure Tim, Donnie. I know you can do this. And as for Metalhead, you can rebuild him and make him even better than before."

"Yeah, but it won't be the same as before," Don pointed out. "It'll take me a long time to get parts to rebuild him. He was made out of Kraang tech, and I have a feeling that it won't be so easy to get access to parts like that again."

"So just use stuff from the junkyard," I supplied. "If you want, I could go with you."

"Thanks, Tony, but that won't be necessary," Don answered. "Besides, we've still got to get more mutagen canisters off the streets before I can do anything else."

"Yeah, that's true," I said. "So how about taking a break and hanging out with us for a little while?"

"Well, I guess I can do that," Don replied. "Besides, I am getting a little hungry."

"Great," I said. "I'm glad you're gonna be okay, Donnie."

"Me too," Donnie said with a smile. Then he followed me back to the living area where we watched TV and had pizza. I knew it was going to take some time for Don to get over what had happened to Metalhead, but he was tough and could bounce back when he needed to. I decided to help him out whenever I could and pay him back for all the study sessions he had with me. I knew what it was like to have something taken away, and it wasn't easy to bounce back from that. Don and I would get through this and that's all that mattered.

A/N: A bit short, but it was all I could do. I hope you like it. Feel free to leave a review and have a shelltastic day.
