Mia was almost at Roswell when her locket began to vibrate violently, to the point where she landed and activated the locating charm on it. Puente Antiguo was a few miles south-west of Roswell, and her new destination. Breaking the sound barrier numerous times, the witch arrived in the middle of a large sand storm to see the rainbow that brought the bifrost bridge.
Erecting a shield around them to keep the storm out, she removed her helmet and watched as the man who had been delivered by the bridge got to his feet and started screaming into the sky, "HEIMDALL! I know you can hear me! Open the bifrost!"
"He won't open it Thor," the witch said, watching the slight bounce in the shoulders of the man, "You have to have really pissed Odin off, he said that he wouldn't let either you or Loki come down unless it was the only option. By the way, why do you have Loki's locket?"
The blonde turned around, and looked at her in astonishment, "You are alive? We have thought you dead for years."
Thor was able to see the pain easily on her face, "Yes, well, I did die, I was saved by faðir but we should find somewhere a little more secure to talk. Come with me."
Still in shock, the Asgardian prince did as asked, walking with the witch a few miles in silence until she stopped and began removing her suit. In her pocket as her 'survival kit', something she always carried with her since being taken prisoner, and inside was a small capsule that she tossed onto the ground. As soon as it hit the ground, the dome tent popped up, and she walked inside.
The tent was like that the Weasley family had used when attending the Quidditch World Cup and also when the trio were on the run, only a bit more technologically advanced. Jarvis ran most things in the 3 bed, 2 bath tent, and was quick to give her an update as she entered, "Madam, there is an incident in New York, would you like me to put it up on the television?"
"Yes please," planting Thor onto the lounge, she watched as Tony and Rhodey fought with drones and Whiplash in an all new suit, "Oh good lord. Are they alright?"
"Oh yes madam, I was informed to tell you that you are not to return until you have worked everything out. Would you like me to keep you updated on sir's progress?"
"Please," turning off the television, the witch went and sat beside the blonde, "So, what did you do to get this banishment?"
Thor blinked a few times before talking, "I went to get revenge for Frost Giants invading Asgard during my coronation ceremony. I did as Father would have done and yet I get banished for the rest of time to Midgard. Why did you call Father faðir?"
"I'll get to that but first…" the ringtone for the twins' video call blared throughout the house, "I need to get this. You stay silent and right there or else."
Making sure the man nodded, Mia stood and answered the call, the smiling faces she loved so much taking up the large screen, "MUM! What is going on with Uncle Tone? We got woken up by Victoire, she was doing some research and the news reports invaded her screen, everyone is freaking out a little. Why aren't you with him?! Are you in the tent?"
"Gunnar! Tyra! Calm down," Mia could feel the migraine starting already, "Tony is fine, he's with Rhodey and you know that he would never let anything happen. I'm doing something important and it may end up in the news, as usual, but I promise to get in touch when it's all over with, okay?"
It was evident that they weren't happy at all but nodded nonetheless, "Alright Mum. Tell Uncle Tone and Afi we love them, if you see him, he's late to visit again. Love you."
"Love you too my terrors and I will," hanging up, she sighed but didn't turn around, she didn't want to see his face.
Thor had seen the whole exchange and had known the second he saw the twins just who their father was, "We believed you were dead 8 months after Loki returned from his week of heaven, as he has called it millions of times. You died giving birth… to Loki's twins? And Father knows this, and knows the twins, as they just called him Afi. How often does he visit?"
Still not looking at him, the witch answered, "He has come down maybe once a month ever since the 1st of December 2000. Your niece and nephew were born on Halloween, and they have heard all about their Asgardian family every time their grandfather comes to visit them."
"You have both kept their births a secret from Loki, from Mother and from me. You made us all believe you dead. You tortured my brother for years!" Thor was pissed now, "Why?"
"I died bringing the twins into this world, Odin saved me from Freyja and Mist, he told me that the Norns had made a prediction concerning Loki. He would need to prove himself worthy of all he had been given, that this was the only way any of us would be happy. I love Loki, I've thought about him every second since he was taken back, I am reminded of him every time I look into those faces, faces of children who have spent 11 years without their father. They've never met him but they love Loki, when they were younger they would ask when he was going to come back to them, less so as they've gotten older but we know that they still wonder. And every time that Odin comes down, we mourn over the fact that Loki cannot know about them. So don't you dare have that tone with me."
The man had the decency to look ashamed, "I apologise, it is just a shock. Your twins, they look just like Loki did as a child."
"Yes, I've come to realise that they are more like their father than they are me, especially in appearance, the only thing they got from me in that sense is my mane. Trouble since their birth, not that their uncle has helped any in that sense, but being the children of the God of Mischief, there was no chance they wouldn't be the next generation of Marauders to invade Hogwarts."
"What are their names?"
A small smile on her face, the witch turned to face the man, "Gunnar Anthony Lokison, he is only a minute older than his sister, Tyra Frigga Lokidóttir. They're gifted as I am, a wizard and witch, and are away at school at the moment."
Thor was silent for a while before a charming grin played on his face, "You are just as Loki said, only far more beautiful than your photograph."
"Thank you Thor," Mia laughed but drift off, going to sit beside him and asking sadly, "How is Loki? Odin says that he is getting more life into him but that he also sees a darkness there. You are his brother, I need to know the truth."
"Your death, Mother, Loki and I mourned for months, those 8 months between his return and your death, he would tell us all about you. Being with you only a week, we heard about the week many times, but it was always wonderful to hear about it. We both started to feel you were already a member of our family. But then you were dead and Father refused to let us come collect your body for an Asgardian funeral, Mother did not speak to him for many weeks for doing so.
"Over time, yes, the holes in our souls were less painful but Loki's did seem to start filling with a darkness. He would still prank but they had more malice than good fun in them, especially when aimed at Father. The worst part though is, he had stopped telling us about his week here with you, and his eyes would go empty if your name or Midgard was mentioned."
Tears had been hastily wiped away by the brunette as she heard of the pain not only her love but his family had gone through, and placed a hand on the large shoulders beside her, "I am so sorry Thor, I never wanted to cause any of you this pain."
His own hand joined hers and lightly squeezed it, "If the Norns said this is the way it needs to be for me to get my brother back, then I will take all the pain in the world."
"Well, seeing as you are set on being here for a while, how about we get you set up and then I can tell you all about your niece and nephew?"
"I would like that very much"
