Attention! Attention All Hosts!
Chapter 27: On Your Mark, Get Set, Host!
I sat in the designated seat and let out a long sigh while Kyo and Kyoya got ready to host me. Damn that Amii girl. I was going to kill her if I ever saw her again. Ok, I wouldn't kill her but I would be very upset. They had the whole school day to formulate their plans on how to charm me. School had been over for a half hour and the girls were coming in early for this battle. Renge said the timing was best if it were after school. That Amii girl caused all this.
"Are you comfortable, Kyon?" asked I voice from behind me. I jumped and looked behind me to see the girl in question standing behind me with a giant grin on her face.
"How do you do that?"
"Do what?" She cocked her head to the side.
"Disappear and reappear at random times."
"Oh that. I actually walk in and out without people noticing me. I can be very quiet and sneaky if I want. I just usually don't want to." I looked ahead again and slouched in my seat.
"I can't believe you got them both to do this by bribing Kyoya-sempai."
"What can I say? I know how their minds work. You should sit up. Slouching is bad for your back." I sighed again and sat up. Renge's motor sounded, followed by her laughter. I watched Amii sneakily run over to the ascending platform and jump on. She really was quiet and sneaky when she wanted to be.
"It's time," Renge announced. Amii grabbed the microphone from Renge. It was like they planned it.
"The competing boys have had 10 minutes to prepare. They will now both enter the room and try to charm Kyon. Each boy has 5 minutes. He can do it in less if he wishes. If not, only 5 minutes will be used so, boys, use the time wisely." Both boys came out from the back while I sat in my throne they got me when the Zuka Club wanted me to go to Lobelia. "Alright. I will flip a coin to see who goes first. The boys gave me their coin answers while they were getting ready." Amii pulled out an American coin and flipped it in the air. When she tried to catch it, she caused chaos on the platform and still failed at catching it. Both girls on the platform looked over the edge at the fallen coin.
"Kyo, could you read off the coin for us?" Renge asked him sweetly. He walked over, crouched down and looked at the showing face of the coin. He stood and looked to Kyoya.
"Looks like you won the coin toss." Amii and Renge grinned at each other.
"Kyoya, you have the choice on who goes first in the hosting battle of the century!" Renge looked at him expectantly during Amii's overdramatic commentary.
"I'll go first." I sat in my seat calmly watching him approach. He stopped in front of me and smiled happily. It was the smile I loved. I smiled in return. He knelt to the ground and took my hand in his. My heart sped up slightly at the flirtatious smile that replaced his happy one. He then kissed my hand gently and gave me a look that made my heart start to pound. I watched him reach inside his blazer and pull out a small bouquet of roses.
"Thank you," I said shyly as I took the roses from him. "They're beautiful."
"No rose could ever be as beautiful as you. No angel could even hope to match your beauty. When you smile, the radiant light outshines even the sun." I could feel myself blushing at his comments. I was a sucker for smiles and compliments. Kyo knew that. I saw his mouth slowly dropping over Kyoya's bowed head. He had bowed it before complimenting me, much to my relief. When he looked up, the blush on my face darkened. He gave me such a cute look that was also flirty. "I will never see anything as beautiful or radiant as you. I would do anything to see you smile daily. I would give up everything for to bask in the light of you and your radiant smile."
"You don't have to give anything up! I'll smile for you either way! Don't give anything up just for me," I found myself blurting out. I was blushing furiously at his kind words and amazing smile. He gave me a happy smile and kissed my cheek before standing. He then walked back to his spot by the gaping Kyo.
"That just made my day!" I looked up at the smiling Amii. "We can be fangirls now!" The room was filled with squealing once she finished that sentence. Her and Renge were two of the voices. Once t quieted down, Amii looked over at Kyo who had recovered by this point. "It's your turn Kyo. Go charm Kyon!"
"After seeing Kyoya-sempai's attempt, I can see that he will win."
"Go," came Amii's voice through the microphone. He paled at the authority in her voice.
"Alright, alright. I'm going." He stepped forward and knelt in front of me in the same way Kyoya had, except his head was down. As his sister, I was worried.
"Is something wrong?" He raised his head and made eye contact with me. After a moment of silence, he smiled.
"I'm not fit to be in the presence of someone as perfect as you. Yet, I find it impossible to stay away. The angels must have carved you from the most perfect thing they could find in the heavens." He was off to an amazing start. Then he ruined it, on purpose, with a stupid pick-up line I told him to never use with me around. "I need a map." I was confused at first by the sudden change in topic.
"Ok? Why do you need a map?"
"Because I'm lost in your eyes."
"And you ruined it. The moment of opportunity passed. You blew your chances by that one pick-up line you love so much." He stood happily.
"I couldn't help it. I had to do it." He ran off to his spot by Kyoya. The girls let out their squeals at his compliments and stupid pick-up line. I frowned slightly before standing and making my way over to the 2 boys. Both were smiling, making me smile as well.
"Neither of you used the whole 5 minutes. One of you didn't need it. And the other needed a lot more after that comment." Kyo grinned. I shook my head with a smile and kissed Kyoya on the cheek lightly. My lips lingered on his skin for longer than they should have. That made the girls squeal loudly. The doors opened up so I moved back from my gentle kiss on his cheek.
"What kind of club is this?" I heard in English. I turned my head towards the door and gaped at Jason. I forgot he was coming after school to see the club and the school.
"Uh, hi. Welcome to the host club," I replied in Japanese. His presence made me nervous when I had just kissed someone's cheek for a crazy hosting battle that I didn't want to do in the first place!
"This is interesting! Is that your boyfriend Kyon?" Amii asked from the platform. I looked up at her.
"What? No! Of course not! I'm single!"
"Are you sure you're not dating him?"
"Yes!"
"You are no fun. Are you dating Kyoya?"
"What? N-no! I-I'm not!"
"You're totally dating him!"
"I am not!"
"Yeah you are. I request you, Kyo, and Kyoya as my hosts!" The platform started its descent. Amii hopped off close to the ground and grabbed her choice of hosts by the arms before leading us to a table. Girls gathered around us to ask questions and get hosted. Jason found a way to the table and sat across from me while us 3 hosts tried to satisfy all the girls, including the one that caused this madness, who was sitting in her seat with a giant grin. After hours of intense hosting, club activities were over. I think Jason just remembered his day during the entire thing. It was pretty boring for him after all since he was just sitting there. Either way, the end of club activities held a little bit of nostalgia. Jason must have taken my comment about him not knowing the real me because he went to talk with Kyo while Kyoya led me out of the room and to our hidden closet.
Me- It's still going to be the story from Kyon's mom next chapter, then Kyo's story, then you get to find out what is happening inside the closet.
Hikaru- We weren't even mentioned.
Kaoru- Do you not like us?
Me- I can't just throw characters in there on a whim. You have to fit.
Hikaru- You threw yourself in there on more than one occasion.
Kaoru- How do you fit?
Me- By being the awesome author. I always fit.
Tamaki- Princess Amii doesn't own us.
Haruhi- or OHSHC.
Both- She only owns Kyo, Kyon, Jason, and herself.
Me- Quit bugging me Hikaru and Kaoru. You're up!
Hikaru and Kaoru- Join us next chapter!
