Lucy's POV
As Buraian lead me into the apartment he'd rented us, I couldn't get what Leo was saying out of my head. I couldn't tell what was the truth anymore... My eyes followed Buraian around the apartment as he opened doors and checked under furniture to make sure it's safe. After a while he turned and smiled to me. "Safe~!" I gave a small smile in return before turning away and walking out to the balcony. The sun was slowly setting, and a beautiful shine was reflected off a long river that ran down the middle of the town.
"My dear, what's the matter?" I sighed and looked to Buraian. I gazed into his eyes and his face flashed with confusion. Frowning a little I spoke, "I think it's time we end it..." The confusion melted off his face. His fingers gently stroked my right cheek, "Why so sudden darling? I thought we agreed that we were going to finish the trip first." I brushed off his hand and sat down on the cushioned couch, "Don't you think we're extending it too long? I mean... I can't place what's real anymore... I have no memory recollection, and I think it's more important to regain what was lost."
Buraian gave a deep groan, "Princess are you sure you want that?" I nodded, "Yes Buraian. I'm positive." He smirked, his face twisting in some foul way that seemed foreign on his face and his eyes flashed dangerously, "Then no regrets."
Rogue's POV
I skidded across the path making a sharp turn and heard Sting swear as he crashed into the corner. I ignored him as I picked up the pace. Her scent was lingering in a single area. I wasn't going to lose her scent this time, not again. I finally came to a stop outside an apartment complex and looked up, my body lingering in the fear that we were mistaken and she wasn't inside. I felt Gray give me an encouraging pat on the shoulder, "We have three dragon slayers right here, it's impossible for all three to be wrong. Don't worry about it and just go get the gi-augh!" His speech was cut short when Sting punched him in the face, "What was that for idiot?!" Blow to the stomach. "I'm the best buddy, it's my job to give the speeches!" Kick in the groin. "Well you gotta be quicker." Head butt.
"Oi. Rogue." I turned to Natsu. His face was just as unsure as mine but he pushed me inside and slowly followed after me. We worked our way up the stairs, Gray and Sting finally catching up to us. I sniffed the air and my eyes widened as my brain registered the smell that was all too familiar and began to run, "Prince Baritone..." That stupid prince was here. I heard Natsu growl behind me. I sniffed again, a new metallic scent making me speed up... blood.
I could tell that the other two smelt it as well as their pace quicken and our running became frantic and uneven. I spoke in a harsh tone, "Gray... She's bleeding." With full understanding his gaze sharpened and his face turned into a grimace. I pushed open the door and sped through the hallway. Room 409. A bloody four floors up, and not enough to put out my burning passion to beat that prince to a pulp.
I kicked the door with full intent to kill him, but what met my eyes was not what I was expecting.
Luce, wrapped in roses and vines. Thorns ripping into her pale skin, her golden hair painted red. Slow, ragged breathing... not conscious. I let out a feral roar and glared at the torturer, a skilled dragon slayer who had command over roses. Fitting for such a prick. "Shadow drive." My sight got covered in my shadows and I charged at Buraian. My hit making him stumble backwards, he cackled and straighten up, "Let's go... Cheney."
"Shadow dragon's SLASH!" I covered my arm in shadow and aimed a punched at the grinning prince. He dodged left and I quickly swung my sheathed katana at his face. The blow left a nice red mark on his precious face, "Rose dragon's CRUSHING BUD!" I hit the floor as the spiralling flower flew over me. I slowly stood up and laughed, "What a nice flower you have there, just blooming." I smirked as he scowled at me and moved to charged at him again, "Shadow dragon's WAXWING FLASH!" I turned into the shadows, wrapping myself around him, assaulting his body with a torrent of shadows from my hand.
I pulled back to take a breath which only fuelled his anger, "Rose dragon's FLAMING THORN!" I saw a burning spear of thorns hurtling towards me and braced myself for impact. A blur of pink entered my vision and the flames licked his body then got sucked into his mouth... Natsu... "White Dragon's HOLY BREATH!" A large beam shot at Buraian leaving his clothes burnt on his body. "Ice make PRISON!" Gray flipped over the tattered prince forming a prison that dropped heavily over him... Sting... Gray...
"Snap out of your daze buddy. Go help Luce!" Natsu yelled at me while sending small flames through the bars of the prison, burning small sections of Buraian's skin. One section at a time. I nodded and ran to Luce's bloody body. I slowly went to remove the vines which had loosened since the fight began, no longer digging into her flesh, but the thorns gripped her skin like a vice and I became hesitant to pull it out. Hearing the fight in the background brought me to the realisation that I had to get her out of here as soon as I could. I hardened my heart and began to pull the thorns out of her body. I could almost hear her internally screaming in her dreams.
With the last thorn removed I turned back to the fighting. A bruised and battered Buraian was still standing, and so were my three damaged comrades. I needed someone to heal her though. As if by luck a large figure blocked the entry way and a metal pole was suddenly launched at Buraian's face, then it retracted back into its owners arm. I didn't bother to greet the newcomers but yelled for my little friend, "Wendy! Hurry!" She pushed past Gajeel and I couldn't be happier to see her blue head kneel over Luce as her hands began to glow.
Lucy's POV
I opened my eyes to see myself in the guild infirmary. My team was gathered around my bed, a few tears threatening to leak as I smiled at them. From the corner of my eye I saw the dragon duo. I recoiled in fear as they watched me. I could only see the memory of them laughing as Minerva released me from her grip causing me to fall, marking the official end to the naval battle.
