Stefan stared impassively at the screen in front of him. He wanted to glare at it, but his eyes were too tired to do so. Elena came up besides him, kissing his cheek.

"What are you doing here in the library?"

"Bonnie used to come here."

"She'll wake up...she's Bonnie. She's too damn stubborn to stay there."

"The doctors rarely come by anymore which means that as time moves on then her chances of waking up are slimmer and slimmer. Damon hasn't left her side as well...I'm starting to actually believe that he may truly love her. I know my brother and he wouldn't do this for just anyone," Stefan confessed.

"Caroline hasn't stopped baking," Elena laughed. "Your poor mother has her entire kitchen filled with muffins and cakes. She's trying to make us fat."

Stefan chuckled softly. "I love you, Elena."

Elena smiled and kissed him passionately on the lips. "I love you too, Stefan."

The machine beeped repeatedly in the silent hospital room as Damon held Bonnie's small hand in his large one. His fingers caressed her knuckles and his lips kissed them softly. Damon didn't care that everyone most likely knew about his relationship with Bonnie. All he cared about was her...but she is gone now. Damon had hope, but with each passing day, it was getting smaller and smaller. He couldn't picture his future without Bonnie Bennett inside of it.

Kai and their friend, Dr. Meredith Fell came into the room, checking her vitals and then the chart which hung on the end of her bed. Kai then stood on the other side of her bedside, looking into the eyes of his longtime friend.

"She'll never wake up, will she?" Damon asked softly, tears on his eyes as he put on an impassive expression on his face. The tears never fell from his eyes.

Kai sighed heavily, while Meredith frowned, never liking this part of her job. "No. She's brain dead, Sal. I'm sorry. I'll leave you two alone."

Meredith left the room, feeling hopeless and saddened that she couldn't do her job this time.

"I wasn't honest with her," Damon spoke. "That's all she asked of me, Kai...to just be honest with her, but I didn't. I was afraid she would run away from me-from the idea of us."

"I would say that as your therapist that you often blame yourself for your inability to commit especially after Katherine...but right now, Sal, I am your friend. It's not your fault that you weren't ready to trust her with your deepest darkest secrets. You barely knew her and she barely knew you. She had no secrets to share and your secrets would've been too much for a girl her age," Kai spoke in a gravelly tone. "We all are afraid of something, Damon...your fear is not the fact that you might not ever commit, but that the person you do commit to can't love you for yourself."

"She didn't know me, but she wanted to."

"Lily wants to take Bonnie off life-support-"

"What about Stefan?"

"He wouldn't answer me. You know you all are like family to me, but I am advising you to go with your mother's decision for Bonnie-"

"Fine Do it." Damon answered coldly with a hint of anger in his cerulean blue eyes. "I don't care anymore."

Damon stood up and stormed out of the room. He went out of the hospital, planning to get drunk and never return.

FIVE MONTHS LATER

There was a ringing in her ears.

It was loud...very loud.

Voices could be heard in her head, but they were unrecognizable. Loud, but murmured.

There was nothing, but black in her eyes which meant that they were closed still. She desperately wanted to open them...to see who was there wherever she was.

Bright emerald green eyes fluttered opened as Bonnie questioned the dark blurry figure standing beside her, "Mom?"

Abby Bennett smiled down at her daughter, stroking back her chocolate brown wild curls from her face. "Hi, baby."

"What are you doing here?" Bonnie asked weakly.

"I heard what happened to you and tracked you down," Abby explained. "It's a good thing that I did too because they were going to take you off life support when I came...you couldn't wake up because you needed a blood transfusion. It had to be a family member, but apparently you had nobody. They put you in a medically induced coma until you could wake up on your own, but that never happened. I'm sorry that I wasn't here sooner, but I am here now. I'll never leave. I promise."

Bonnie glanced around the room, asking, "Where is everyone?"

"You were alone when I came, Bonnie."

Tears formed in Bonnie's eyes as she nodded. "They left me."

"Who are you talking about, sweetie?"

"Doesn't matter. When can I leave this place?"

"Tomorrow morning-"

"What about this afternoon?"

"O-Okay. Let me check," Abby replied then walked out of the empty hospital room.

Bonnie laid there, wondering how long was her life taken away from her...if she can't gain it all back. She mostly wondered why her mother was back in her life because she didn't believe a word that came out of her mouth. Bonnie frowned as she sat up, gasping at the flowers which were placed all around her room. It smelled like a garden and this made Bonnie smiled.

In the afternoon, Bonnie walked out of the hospital with her mother beside her.

"Where should we-"

"The Salvatore Estate," Bonnie answered coldly. "I need to pack my things."

Abby nodded and they both silently stepped inside of the car. Once they arrived to the estate, Bonnie quickly got out of the car, unlocking the front door with the key they gave her.

The house was silent as Bonnie stepped inside of it with her mother behind her.

"Wow," Abby said, her voice echoing. "This place is beautiful."

"Let's just pack and get out of New York. Please, Abby."

"I-I have a home in Virginia. A town called Mystic Falls...do you want to go there with me?"

Bonnie found herself nodding in agreement. "Yeah. I need to finish high school and how long have I been out."

"Almost six months," Abby replied.

"What?!"

"Yeah, it would've been six months next week."

"I missed the last half of junior year…" Bonnie realized. "Yet I don't feel this anxiety to get everything down before applications for Yale are due."

"We'll get everything settled once we are settled in Mystic Falls," Abby responded.

The front door closed and they heard voices downstairs.

"I'll keep packing," Abby told her daughter.

Bonnie walked out of the room and down the curved stairway, staring at the surprised faces of Lily and Stefan.

"I woke up because my mother came and turns out that I needed my mother's blood to wake up...none of you were there when I did."

"Bonnie," Lily started, coming closer. "We didn't want to see you die. We already lost Mia and you are so much like her. You are like a daughter to me already and I-I didn't want to see you die."

"I can understand that...no matter though that I'm leaving with my mother," Bonnie announced.

While Lily gasped, Stefan immediately said, "Bonnie-"

"Ever since I came to New York, there has been nothing, but sadness here. I lost my dad, I got in a crash and almost died, I missed junior year, and I did things that were definitely wrong and they had great effects on me. I'm not focused on my future because of Damon. I'm finally going to say it, he and I entered a sexual and inappropriate relationship with each other when he was my teacher once I came here. I lost myself, but now I know that for some reason, Damon is bad for me. I'm sorry, Lily and Stefan. Thank you for everything, but it's best if I just leave now."

Bonnie turned and walked away just as Stefan said, "Damon's missing."

This caused Bonnie to stop in her tracks as Stefan continued, "I know that being with my brother has caused you a lot of pain, but once we told him five months ago that we were going to take you off life-support, he skipped town and hasn't been seen since. Help me find my brother, Bonnie...please. We knew already about you two once he wouldn't leave your bedside until you were awake. If you stay and get noticed by some cameras which will be everywhere then wherever Damon is, he'll know that you're here and come back home because he loves you. Help us, then you can leave if you still want to."

Bonnie took a moment to think about what was happening. Should I? What will happen if I agree to this? More heartbreak and pain? Yet do I risk it all so that a family does not lose their son once again…

Bonnie looked at Stefan and reluctantly nodded. "Alright. I'll stay...for now."

TBC…

THANK YOU FOR THE REVIEWS, FOLLOWS, AND FAVORITES! You guys are awesome and I'll try to keep updating ASAP!

Okay so to summarize what basically happened in this chapter: the Salvatores all know what happened between Bonnie and Damon. Since Bonnie was going to die, Damon decides to skip town and...that is something that you will all hate me for when he comes back. I was going to make Bonnie lose her memory, but then I just decided to bring back her mother. Bonnie won't forgive her mother because she left them and hasn't made contact since.

Bonnie stayed only because of Stefan and Lily and them wanting to get Damon back, but once he comes back, Bonnie has the right idea to skip town.

I hoped you liked this chapter.
