Running Interest

The bell chimed, and Souta made for the door, with heart pounding and thoughts whizzing, he craved a place of solitude.

Bright sunlight bathed him in it's warm rays, and he sat panting with the book in his shaking hands.

Souta opened the book reading in horror, seeing the story go on, and on, unable to stop it, and knowing all the while that his big sister was at it's center.

The Priestess, with fang in hand faced the Kuto army alone, with men before her and monsters at her back, she glowed with holy power, deflecting each strike, with that of ten men, and moved faster than the eyes could see. Never taking a single life, she faced the beast, who nashed their teeth and growled their chilling battle cry, converging on the lone girl, and with a single stroke-

"That book must be pretty good."

"Huh?" Souta stared at the boy. "What?"

"That, book, you left in such a hurry, anyway, here." He a placed hot cup of noodles into his sweating palms.

"You're the new boy in my class, right, Shoshi, Takesh?"

"Yeah, but don't you go makin' a fuss, I just came back, I ain't new."
