David leaned back against his police cruiser with a long sigh. He knew he should stop thinking about her but he couldn't help it. He hadn't slept that peacefully since the last time he had fallen asleep with his arms around her. And the morning had been so comfortable and warm and peaceful. His day had only gone downhill since he had left the mansion. He was exhausted and frustrated and wanted to see her.

"Hey."

David's head turned to the voice and then offered a weak smile in Snow's direction, "hey."

"You okay?"

"Yeah. Just turning out to be a long day. That's all."

"Anything in particular?" She asked as she stopped in front of him. She wanted to lean in to him and hug him but with the space he had been in these past few weeks...she wasn't sure how smoothly that would turn out. So she stayed put with their toes hardly an inch apart while she stood straight and he remained leaning back against his car.

"No. Just a bunch of little things."

Snow nodded in reply and when the silence began to drift in she asked quietly, "are you going to be home tonight?"

"I don't know...probably..."

"...are things every going to go back to normal?"

"Were things ever normal in the first place?" He questioned back tiredly but before Snow could answer, both of their heads snapped to the road at the sound of horns wailing and tires screeching. Then the easily recognizable black Mercedes sped past them ignoring virtually every single traffic law.

"What the hell is she doing..." Snow questioned quietly in confusion.

"Come on. Get in," he nodded as he stood up and quickly got back in the driver's seat while Snow hurried around to the passenger seat. Once she was in he sped out of the station, flicking on the lights and sirens as he sped after Regina. He wasn't chasing her down though. No the lights and sirens were a heads up for the town members to get out of the way. He knew Regina and he knew that there was absolutely no way she would drive like a raving lunatic unless she had a damn good reason.

A reason like Henry.

...

Henry laughed as he pulled himself from the well and stumbled upon his landing. He was so excited, so completely overjoyed to see this familiar area of forest. It was the same well that Snow and Emma had climbed out of after their haphazard trip the the Enchanted Forest of this world. He laughed as he skipped and bounced around while David and the queen climbed out behind him. This was his Storybrooke. He had done it. He had made it home.

David laughed softly at Henry's excitement as he helped his wife down from the well and she looked around at their surroundings. It looked no different from their world just yet. When she stood beside him on flat ground she kept her hand in his and he intertwined their fingers with a smile and then called for Henry's attention, "which way do we go?"

"This way!" Henry grinned as he started backing toward the subtle path between the towering trees.

"You sure?" David teased with a smile and Henry laughed again and bounced his way down the path. He was trying to keep his pace reasonable for them but both Regina and himself could see that the boy was ready to sprint all the way home in to his mother's arms.

"I'm actually pretty sure my mom here will find us on our way to find her."

"And what makes you say that?" Regina smiled down at him and he shrugged his shoulders with a quiet laugh.

"Because she's super clever! And if she made the portal here so obvious for me to find then figuring out a spell to let her know when it opens would be a piece of cake!"

Regina hummed with a smile and a nod and Henry skipped ahead a few strides and then slowed his pace again for their sake, "and if she doesn't?"

"Then we will walk all the way to Storybrooke! This is going to be great! There are going to be two of you! Everybody's going to freak out! And you get to stay with us and try my mom's cooking! I have so missed her pancakes! And you get to see Storybrooke and how different it is! It's going to be like you're seeing in to the future! And-!" He cut himself off and stopped walking at a faint whine in the distance. And then he grinned and jumped up and spun to face Regina and David, "sirens!" He laughed and they looked past him toward the slowly growing sound, "come on! I told you she'd come!" He shouted and waved them on to follow him as he spun back around and started running.

His heart was in his throat and tears were back in his eyes as he ran faster than he ever had. His mom. He was going to see his mother again. This path was too damn long. He rounded too many bends and corners and he could faintly hear the sound of David and the queen behind him but he was more focused on what was laying ahead of him. He couldn't tell if the sound that left his throat was a laugh or a cry when he saw that black Mercedes screech to a halt as he came to the last stretch of the path, "mom!"

The very moment the vehicle came to a stop the door was swung open and she was running out of it. He had never been so happy to see her face, "mom!"

"Henry!" She cried as she ran to him, not bothering with closing the car door behind her let alone pulling the key from the ignition. Her boy. Her little boy. Her sweet little prince. She ran and she didn't slow down and when he crashed in to her she used the momentum to spin them as she held him too tight and cried in to his hair in utter relief. She cried and she held him and she dropped to her knees and he came with her and straddled her lap, his hands taking fistfuls of her blazer and her hair. "Henry," she breathed out and it was followed by a shuddering cry in to the side of his head.

"Mom it's okay," he tried to laugh but her grip around him was suffocating and he was crying. He hadn't realized how much he had truly missed her until now. Now that he was back in her arms and she was crying for him, "mom," he choked out and sniffed back his cries as tears fell from his eyes and his hands gripped the back of her jacket and tangled deeper in to her hair, "I'm okay."

"I thought I'd lost you," she cried quietly in to his neck and moved her hand through his hair on the back of his head and held it against the back of his neck as she pushed her face in to his neck and shoulder, "I thought I'd never see you again."

"I will always come back to you," he sniffed and opened his fists only to take another tight grip, "I missed you so much."

She was choking on her sobs as they came out and she clung to him with shaking arms that were afraid to ever let him go again, "I missed you too, my darling boy," she cried and kissed his neck and his hand tangled further in her hair. She took a deep breath of his scent and more tears wet his neck as she cried at the familiar smell of her little boy that had begun to fade from her home. "I love you so much, Henry," she pushed out through a shaky sob and held him tight.

"I love you mom, love you so much. I'm sorry I left you," he shook his head and she lifted her head from his neck so she could look him in the eye and those big sad brown eyes were filled with relief and love and it had more tears falling down his face.

"You are back and that is all that matters," she shook her head and smiled as she held her hands on either side of his face. Her heart throbbed when he held his hands over hers and he turned his head so he could kiss her palm. When he nuzzled his face in to her hand she sucked in a shaky breath through her teeth and more tears fell down her cheeks before she leaned forward and pressed a kiss to his temple, his cheek, his forehead, his nose, only stopping when they were both laughing through their tears.

It was then that she began to notice the changes in his body and it had her laughing a little more as she moved her hands down his shoulders and arms, "you're so strong, my boy, what have you been doing?" She questioned and then noted the clothes he wore and laughed again through her tears, "and what are you wearing?"

Henry laughed as her hands moved over him, his arms, chest, stomach, thighs and then back up again as she laughed in wonderment and curiosity and her tears continued to fall, "riding, archery, sword fighting, swimming, running, climbing, all sorts of things," he shook his head as he laughed and sniffed back his tears while his mother shook her head at him and laughed as she wiped away his tears with her thumbs.

"I've missed you so much," he cried and she gave him a watery smile before he lunged at her again, kissing her cheek as he wrapped his arms around her neck. He hugged her tight and took in a deep breath of the scent that was uniquely her. He didn't know how to describe it, he couldn't pick out any specific scents, it was just...his mom. He cried in to her neck and she hushed him and soothed him as her own tears dampened his neck and shoulder once more, "you made it so easy to find home," he sobbed and she let out a mixture of a sob and a laugh.

"I was so worried you wouldn't be able to find me," she breathed and hugged him tighter.

"Mom, your shaking," he half laughed as he lifted his head from her shoulder and rested his forehead against hers.

Regina laughed a little and cried a lot as she shook her head and lifted her hands to hold his head in place, "I am just so relieved you are back. I love you so much."

"Can you make pancakes for dinner?"

Regina laughed at that. A truly good and hearty laugh as she nodded and kept her forehead against his, "my dear son, I will make you anything you want."

The queen stood back with David as she watched the touching reunion of the mother and son. It nearly brought her to tears. It was odd to see a copy of herself. It was a little unsettling too. Like looking in a mirror but your reflection was doing something entirely different than you. She would get used to it she was sure. But the initial sight unsettled her more than she thought it would.

She leaned in to David and entwined their fingers and he kissed the top of her head as he squeezed her hand. And then the sirens got louder and flashing red and blue lights shone through the trees as another transportation vehicle slid to a halt next to Henry's mother's black one. It seemed these vehicles came in different styles and colours. And then the loud whining was silenced and this world's Snow and David ran out of its odd doors.

"Henry!" Snow yelled excitedly as she slammed the door shut behind her and ran to Henry and Regina on the ground with David running close behind her.

"Hey kid, welcome back!" David cheered as he dropped down right next to Regina and Henry grinned up at him with a teary laugh.

"Where have you been?!" Snow laughed as she reached forward and tucked his hair behind his ear as Regina kissed his forehead.

"With my mom," he laughed and sniffed back his tears and then laughed a little more at their happily confused faces. Henry nodded and then twisted in his mother's tight hold to look over his shoulder, "I sort of fell in to a parallel universe of sorts and became best friends with the Evil Queen and now she's not so evil anymore."

"Hello," the queen smiled and lifted her empty hand in a small wave at the new trio but was met with stunned silence.

Regina stared up at herself with wide eyes and tried to understand what she was seeing. And then her gaze flicked to the man next to her only to recognize David and then for no particular reason her eyes dropped to their hands to find them intertwined. She slowly cocked her head and opened her mouth to speak as she turned her head to look at the David next to her and then looked back to the copies.

"I'm sorry this is just...really weird," Snow spoke slowly and shook her head only to squint her eyes a little when the queen looked her way. It was one thing to worry about David and Regina growing closer than they should. But it was something entirely different to see it was truly possible. It unnerved her and she could feel the panic settling in her chest as she glanced at Regina and David next to her.

"It's not all that much different a situation for us, dear," the queen smiled with a nod and Snow started to laugh uneasily, "you've cut your hair. Shame."

"Yes, well, I woke up one morning and it was gone. I blame her," Snow nodded her head to the Regina next to her and the woman scoffed.

"Yes because we are going to fuss over who cut whose hair when there are two of me and two of David!"

"Why are you two so close," David questioned slowly with a furrowed brow and his eyes fixed on the fairy tale land version of his and Regina's hands.

"Because you fell in love with my mom," Henry supplied happily and the queen smiled down at him. He was met with confused, uneasy, and quiet laughter from all three adults holding him close.

"I did not-what?!" David shook his head with a nervous scoff and then wondered if he perhaps answered that too quickly. Henry was certainly looking him over with a subtle but devious smile. Whatever that meant.

"How?!"

"Oh thanks, Snow," Regina spat and the girl rolled her eyes and groaned while her carbon copy laughed quietly, "I am not impossible to love, you little wench."

"That is not what I meant, Regina," she breathed out in exasperation.

"But..." David started and then began shaking his head in confusion as he stared at the queen and himself, "why are you two so close?" He asked again and suddenly became aware of how close he himself was to Regina. One hand was on her lower back and the other grazed her fingertips over Henry's neck and shoulder while their sides were mere inches apart. It made him feel hot and caught and uneasy. But he didn't move his hands. He didn't want to attract anyone's attention to them.

"Because I do love her," the prince nodded and his Regina smiled while the one holding Henry cocked her head and looked him up and down curiously before she glanced at the David beside her when he tensed. The pair of them shared a momentary glance but that was enough for him to see the tension and want in their eyes. Something had grown between them. Good, "I came with her to assure she would be safe and if she was unable to return to our land then at the very least we would be together and Snow could rule the kingdom."

Snow started laughing quietly through her smile in disbelief as she stood up and motioned in a small circle with her finger in gesture of their situation, "this is crazy," she laughed and nodded.

"Oh calm down, Snow," Regina huffed and rested her head on Henry's with a sigh and when his arms wound tighter she couldn't help but smile. It was a welcome distraction. She had been trying so hard to stay away and behave herself around David. And then thrown in her face was the very image and proof that she and David could have something.

"This is...I don't even know what this is! There is no way in hell you would just hand the kingdom over to me! And there is no way in hell David would-no! Just no!"

"Well if I was happy I see no reason why I wouldn't consider letting my loathing hatred for you dissolve away. I was unhappy I wasn't completely unreasonable. As for David...I don't have an answer to that."

"I-I just can't-I don't know how to respond to this."

"Well you're not doing a particularly good job," Regina deadpanned and tucked her son's head beneath her chin a little more as she looked over at her and David standing in front of her. It was very odd. Very tempting. Very wrong.

"Yeah I'm gonna have to agree with Regina on that one," David nodded slowly as he continued to stare at the happy couple that was himself and his former enemy.

"Shut up, David!" Snow snapped and waved her hand at him.

"Would you prefer it if I let go of his hand?" The queen offered with a raise of her brow.

"Yes I would prefer that very much, thank you," Snow nodded at her but the queen only smirked which made Snow frown.

"Then I shall continue to hold it."

Regina laughed with Henry and Snow huffed furiously while David tried his best to hold back a grin but his fairy tale land copy was laughing with them. The queen simply held Snow's eye contact in amusement while the girl boiled over with frustration. "So weird," Regina whispered with a shake of her head, her chin still resting on Henry's head.

"It works though," Henry grinned and tilted his head back to look up at his mother and she looked down at him, "you two are super happy together."

Regina hummed quietly though her smile, "I'm sure they are," she whispered and kissed his forehead which had him laughing softly and pushing his forehead against hers when she pulled back, "but I'm happy right here, right now."

Her worst nightmare was being lived. Right there, in the flesh, Regina and David together as a couple. "Are you going back today?" Snow asked anxiously and made herself stand still despite how much she wanted to pace.

"No. We had actually made plans to stay for a week or two," David replied and Snow tried to hide how much she hated that idea. Surely something was going on between this trio that made them so tense and uneasy in their presence. He was sure his wife was ready further along than he was in figuring out what was going on between these Storybrooke characters. "We could only get our hands on one magic bean, you see, and we needed to get Henry home. We were going to let him go himself but Regina quickly decided she was going to go with him should something go wrong or should he end up in the wrong place. Then I came with them. But we were told that once here there would be a magic bean crop and we could easily return home?"

"Yes," Regina answered with a nod and then pushed herself to her feet with Henry following suit in her arms while David's warm hands helped her balance. Or threw off her balance. She couldn't seem to tell anymore. Henry stayed right close to her and she happily held him there to both keep him there and distract herself from all of her desires to be with David. They were burning even more now. Now that she knew what they looked like. "Yes we do have a crop and conveniently enough I believe the next harvest is set for two weeks from now. So there's that..."

"Perfect. Now it is just a matter of living arrangements," the queen smiled and just about laughed when Snow's eyes blew wide and she grew even more tense. This was going to be a blast of a honeymoon.

"Of course," Regina nodded and smiled and the queen's eye flicked to hers, "you may stay with Henry and me at the house."

"Really?" David questioned quietly beside her and she nodded while the queen smiled and nodded her head gratefully.

"You took care of my son and brought him back to me. I will be more than happy to share my roof with you," she assured and began mentally preparing herself for seeing a version of herself happy with David. Perhaps the pair of them were nothing alike. She doubted it though. It was like looking in to a damn mirror.

"Thank you, your majesty," the queen smirked with a rock of her head and the other Regina gave a single laugh and shook her head.

"You needn't call me that, dear. 'Regina' will do just fine," she corrected with a light laugh lacing her words as she began turning toward the vehicles and Henry followed suit.

"Very well, Regina," she smirked and started walking toward them, towing David behind her and walking much closer to Snow than was truly necessary just so she could play with her. She let out a low and soft laugh in her throat when the girl leaned away from her and avoided looking anywhere near her.

"Mom how are we all going to fit in your car?" Henry asked and she paused and cocked her head at her vehicle. The Mercedes didn't have a back seat.

"We aren't."

"We could split up. Have them ride in the police car with David and Snow."

"And have them endure the awkward silence that an irrationally paranoid Snow White will provide? That's hardly fair."

"What happened between you and Snow anyway? You two were starting to get along before I left."

"Just a few choice words," she replied and left it at that but knew quite well it hadn't settled him.

"What if you took the squad car?" David offered as he stepped up beside Regina and she looked up at him as though that was the most insulting thing he could have said to her.

"And let that wretched reprobate drive my car?! I wouldn't get it back in one piece! She'd wreck it just to spite me!"

"Easy," he breathed and lifted both his hands in surrender as she scoffed and Henry bit back a grin and kept himself clung to her side. "I was going to suggest I drive it," he assured and she huffed and crossed her jaw, "I promise I'll drive her careful."

"Fine," she snapped and he nodded, "but mark my words, Charming, if there is one blemish-!"

"It will be fine, Regina," he laughed softly and gently pushed her away from her car and toward the squad car behind it, "I will meet you at the house," he urged and she nodded with one last glance between him and her car before she turned away.

"So you and David are on better terms," Henry smirked a little to himself as he rested the side of his head on her shoulder.

"I suppose you could say that."

"That's good."

"I don't think I like that mischievous tone of yours, dear," she smirked and he laughed as he let go of her only to get to the other side of the car and open the passenger side door.

"There was no mischievous tone."

"Mhm. Get in the car," she smirked and moved to the back door so she could open it for their guests. Henry simply laughed and did what he was told and when Regina turned around she was faced with the queen herself. This was going to take time to get used to. So much time.

"Climb in," she smiled politely and David was the first to awkwardly get in to the back seat and as he did Regina caught sight of a ring on his left hand that had her smile faltering. Then the queen moved to get in to the car but Regina snatched her left hand in her gentle grip, causing the woman to pause before she got in the car.

The queen looked at the Storybrooke woman curiously and irritably but softened when she focused her attention on the ring on her finger. The woman looked confused and distraught and just all around distressed at the sight of the ring on her finger and the queen couldn't help but feel sympathy for her. "We were wed three days ago," she answered the silent question and the woman swallowed and nodded before she took a deep but shaky breath and cleared her throat. Then she released her hand and put on a smile that hid nothing.

"Congratulations."
