BlackLynx17: New Fairy Tail chapter people! Oh my God, people! That had to be the greatest chapter yet, I don't care what anyone else says. Actually no, between that chapter and the Erza chapter where she fights 100 monsters by herself. Those two, number one. I'm still getting goosebumps now.
Please review.
AAA Chapter 29
"Laxus, this is a really bad idea." Freed told me.
"Look Freed, I don't care. If you don't want to do this, go sit back with Bickslow and Evergreen. I'm going." I said leaving him behind.
"I can't just let you go by yourself Laxus!... Just hold me back if I try and leap at him." He mumbled walking after me.
It's been days since my private talk with Wendy and I haven't been trying whatsoever to befriend Doranbolt. I didn't want to do this at all, she wanted to know about him though and instead of her trying to befriend him I did say I would instead. I'd rather it was me than her. I'll learn his true character and tell Wendy all about it; then she'll realize for herself what a horrible guy he is and forget all about him. It was a good plan, perfect even. When I sat down at his table Doranbolt stopped telling whatever ridiculous story he was telling and stared wide-eyed at me. I don't know how it happened, but it seems he has returned to his normal idiotic self again. I ignored him and said hi to the friends we had in common.
"Go on! Finish the story Doranbolt!"
"I, I... I forgot the rest, hey Laxus. What are you doing here?" He asked.
"Don't worry about it." I told him.
Though he tried to hide it, he looked worried.
"Alright then... yeah."
Talking to this guy was like talking to an idiot so I just observed him for now. I already knew how this fool acted and talked like though, I needed to know about him personally. Freed seemed to get lost in the conversations around us and maybe he should be doing this job instead of me; he got along with people better. When lunch ended Doranbolt stayed behind as all our friends left.
"What's going on?" He asked.
"Laxus has decided to become your friend so you better be grateful." Freed answered for me.
"Decided? Grateful? So what's up Laxus? What's with the sudden change of heart?" Doranbolt turned to me.
"You heard the man." I motion to Freed, "be grateful."
Doranbolt snorted and rolled his eyes, "yeah, whatever your grace. I don't know game you're trying to play with me, and normally I'm into games, but count me out of this one."
"Hey Freed, Pres was laughing so much yesterday during our struggle tournament wasn't she?" I mentioned.
Doranbolt froze. I didn't know what to say to that because honestly I didn't know if that would work or not. It did, meaning he liked her, meaning I had a serious problem but couldn't do anything about it since it was Wendy's choice, meaning if I didn't become idiotic friends with this idiot I couldn't teach/show/warn him about how to date Pres if he did end up dating her. She was too good for him anyway.
"So you want to be friends, huh?" He asked looking at me.
"You've got to be kidding." Freed said.
"Best Buds." I said putting emphasis on the B's.
"Just be honest with me."
"Fine." I said getting up.
"Honestly, for God knows what reason above, Wendy wants to be friends with you."
His eyes lit up though his face stayed the same.
"She asked me though if she should be friends with you because she respects my decision and doesn't want to hurt my feelings."
His whole face fell, "fuck."
"Exactly, I don't know anything about you though except for the fact that you are an idiot. I told her this, she didn't say anything. So now I'm forced to become your friend because I don't want you anywhere near her unless I know for a fact that you won't hurt her."
"Fuck." Freed said next to me.
"He's right you know, we'll be best buds forever." Doranbolt said pointing a finger at Freed.
"You better start shaping up soon then and cut the bullshit. I want to know something first and depending on your answer, I just might tell Wendy to stay as far away from you as possible and shove all this friendship bullshit up your ass."
"Ask away then your grace."
"Sophomore year you became talk of the century because of your fight with Gerald or whatever, now I heard rumors that it started because you stole his girlfriend. I want to know the story from your mouth."
Doranbolt turned emotionless and Freed started laughing beside me.
"Good one Laxus, we won't be having to deal with him again."
"Pres, come here."
Wendy turned around and smiled as she walked towards me, her and that damn smile. I kicked out a chair for her and she sat down in it.
"How come you won't join in any of our reindeer games Laxus?" She asked.
I looked up at the idiots, no, at my friends fighting each other and sighed out.
"Because you all have a red nose and I have a black one, listen-"
"That's not true! You have the reddest nose of all and even have a moogle to prove it! By the way, what did you name it? You didn't throw it away did you Laxus?" She asked.
"No, he's sitting on my dresser near my bed, now I'm trying to tell you something Pres."
"That's a relief, I thought you were too cool for a moogle and started feeling bad that I didn't buy two prizes for a girl and a boy." She said looking down.
My eye twitched, "I love it."
Wendy immediately brighten up and smiled, "I'm so happy."
I didn't want Doranbolt anywhere near this girl and her brightness. Fuck.
"His favorite color is navy blue."
Wendy blinked at me, "his? Whose?"
"He's an only child, favorite sport is baseball, favorite subject math, favorite genre of music classical rock, that punk." I mumbled at the end.
"Laxus?" She asked.
"You wanted to know about him right? Well until I know he's trustworthy enough I'll find out about him for you." I told her.
She nodded and stared intensely at me, tears in her eyes but refusing to let them fall. I'm sure they were tears of happiness; she looked so happy right now and tried her best to hold in. I really had no idea if she was touched by my helping her or so happy that she was learning about Doranbolt... I completely believed the first thought and shot the other.
"Born and raised in Magnolia, like I told you. He works part time as an errand boy for city hall council on the weekends, plans on becoming a councilman one day to help better our community. That sounded like a lot of BS to me, but you can decide that for yourself."
Wendy giggled.
"Plans on going to Magnolia University, that bastard, to major in law. Hopefully I wont have classes with him. That's about all I learned about him, oh. And his favorite movie is Death Note, the second real life action one."
"Laxus, you didn't have to do this."
"You asked me to."
"I asked you for advice, not to be his friend if you didn't want to-"
"Exactly, for advice. I'm getting my advice right now and giving it to you. Be grateful."
She giggled and hopped on me, wrapping her small arms around my neck for a hug.
"Thank you Laxus."
I didn't want to think anything about this so I focused on something else, like how Freed saw us hug and looked away. He didn't yell, scream, shout, stop us or threaten Wendy at all. He really doesn't seem to see her as a threat, then again his cling-ness has started to go down. This club has actually been doing some good to him.
"Alright, get off me. You know I don't like hugs." I mumbled.
"Well I do and as your president I can hug you any time I want to."
"Abuse of power."
"That's right, I'm a tyrant."
She giggled and I smiled lightly.
"You've been thinking about Romeo?"
She stopped giggling and blushed learning back to look at him.
"Things are back to normal between us; I'm noticing things though that I never thought or second guess before. He does a lot of things for me, because he likes me."
"And?"
"And I'm starting to see, see him differently. I'm still unsure though."
"Feelings aren't forced, don't try to see something when nothing is there."
"I know, and I will, or won't. Yeah, I won't. Thank you Laxus."
"Whatever, now go act like a fool like everyone else."
"Don't you mean, lets?... But one second Laxus, you didn't tell him... did you?"
"Tell him that you sent me to spy on him?"
"Spy is such an evil word in that sentence, you just didn't say anything about me right?"
"Does it really matter?"
Wendy looked down and bit her lip, "I guess it doesn't. I haven't seen him since that rainy day so I guess nothings changed."
Wait, rainy day? The last day she saw him, which I made sure of, was the day she slapped him. It wasn't raining that day.
"What are you talking about rainy day?" I asked.
Wendy looked up at me and blinked... before she ran off.
"WENDY!" I yelled.
I don't know why I was getting so worked-up, my mind just immediately thought of the worst like him forcing her to kiss him again and maybe force her into his car, since it was raining, and continuing kissing then maybe going back to his place and-
He's dead.

I really messed up, but that's okay because Laxus is going to forget all about my mistake of words right after I act like nothing ever happened. Oh my goodness, I couldn't believe it.
