Sonic was waiting in the back of the G.U.N. van as he and the other soldiers finally approached Station Square. There were many areas under siege or attack from the pro-Mobian group: Mobius Museum was under attack, with various members of the anarchist group stealing or destroying the precious art items inside; Mobius Collective Bank was broken into and robbed; and pretty much every small store or big supermarket was being ransacked for all it was worth.

"So, is everyone kitted up?" asked Rosy.

"To the nines. Guns, grenades, armour... we're all ready to go," replied one of the soldiers.

"Good. Today is a big pay day, boys," Rosy said. "It won't be a pretty one."

"She's right," Scourge added, turning back to face his fellow G.U.N. soldiers. "Now, this is far from my first real mission with you guys, but I will say that if you all think today is going to be easy, then you're wrong. I won't lie to you: we won't all make it back. But we won't die for nothing. When we get out there, everyone fights to earn their keep or die trying."

"Thanks for the pep talk," said a soldier, earning some laughter from the others.

"Hey, it's what I do," Scourge replied.

"We're here," said Rosy.

Scourge nodded. "Everyone, get ready. If you haven't checked on your guns already, I'd advise doing it before you get killed."

Sonic was relieved as the van had finally managed to pull over, but his relief morphed into small panic when the pro-Mobians started to open fire on the van. All soldiers ducked down as this happened, including Sonic, but they knew they'd have to escape. Rosy was quick to drive to where they could all get nearby cover, and the soldiers all fled from the G.U.N. either one van's side doors or the back door, making sure to hide behind whatever they could use for cover, and keep their heads down so as not to get a bullet through them.

"How many of them do you think there are?" asked one soldier as he checked his handgun.

"Who fucking cares?" asked another. "They're all going to fry for this!"

"They won't fry if you give us away, you dimwit!" said the first.

Sonic smacked both of them on the head at the same time. "Will the pair of you calm down and try to get your fucking heads on straight? We can't just go rushing at them, and there's no doubt that they're blasting their way over here right now so we could be-"

Sonic was cut off as a bullet hit the wall across from where he was covered. He smirked. "Next."

Scourge and Rosy managed to scuttle over without being hurt. "How's it looking?" Rosy asked as everyone finished checking their guns.

"Bad," replied a G.U.N. soldier. "Did you see anything important while you were still up front in the van?"

"Just plenty of pissed off anarchists with guns that they probably can't say the names of, but know how to use them," Scourge replied.

"Do we have a plan to get rid of them?" Sonic asked.

"Wait for reinforcements, I suppose," replied Scourge. "I don't know how long they could take to get here, though. There's no doubting that these pro-Mobians are stretching out pretty far over Station Square, so there's a good chance that these aren't the only ones we'll have to deal with today."

"Can someone get a good head count of these assholes?" asked Rosy.

Sonic peeked his head over the small hiding space he was in. He kept his head low enough so he couldn't get seen, and quickly ran his eyes over them. He brought his head back down and nodded to Rosy. "There's at least ten, but that's only from a quick glance. There could be more on their way, not to mention the ones that might still be around stores looting."

Rosy was about to reply, but was effectively silenced when several bullets hit the G.U.N. van. An angry sounding voice yelled from outside. "We know you're hiding over there, you sons of bitches! Show your faces so we can blast them off!"

Scourge grunted a bit, and under his breath, said, "Oh, we so do not have time for this..." He then scratched his nose and started speaking back. "What the fuck is wrong with you guys? Here we all are trying to live a nice life, and you have to come along and wreck it with your riots and your murders... don't any of you have any hobbies?"

"Our hobbies are rioting and murdering, among other ventures," replied another voice. "And we haven't murdered any of you G.U.N. butt-puppets in a long time! So far it's all just been defenceless men, women, and children. But they're no fun at all! We need a real challenge!"

"If you want a challenge, then drop the guns and go home, maybe pick up a good colouring book," Sonic replied. "Of course, knowing your style, a pop-up book would be more accurate."

"Are you insulting my intelligence, smart-ass?" asked the voice.

"No. I'm totally denying its existence," Sonic replied.

"What are you doing?" a G.U.N. soldier asked under his breath.

"Making them mad," Sonic replied. He then focused his attention back on the pro-Mobians. "You know, maybe if you guys tried more subtle ways of operating like planning things and thinking shit through, most of your guys wouldn't be dead."

"Our guys never die in vain!" said another pro-Mobian.

"Oh yeah? Because the several bodies that I've put six feet under would say otherwise. Well, they would if they weren't dead already," Sonic replied.

"Show your face, you little fucker! I'll kill you first!" said the voice.

"You want me to show my face?" Sonic asked, taking his helmet off and preparing to stand up.

"Don't fucking play around, you bastard! Show your fucking face!"

Sonic got on one knee, and Scourge whispered over to him. "What's wrong with you? They'll kill you the moment you stand up and show yourself!"

"Don't worry, dude. I've got a plan..."

Sonic stood up and turned around to face the pro-Mobians. As his left hand was out of view, he managed to spread it several times to subtly give the number of anarchists away to the G.U.N. soldiers, stopping at sixteen. Sonic smiled up at the pro-Mobians. "This good?"

They all took aim at him, and one of them spoke. "Yeah. That's good." He then fired a shot from his gun, only to see it hit the wall behind Sonic, and not knowing why Sonic wasn't on the ground bleeding to death.

"Want me to stand a little closer?" Sonic asked, taking a step further towards them, but still keeping his hands low.

Several of them took a few shots at him, but they all missed, and were equally still baffled to see Sonic hadn't moved a muscle. "How... how is he..."

Sonic's ears twitched as he heard another vehicle, hopefully a G.U.N. van, start to approach. Luckily, the pro-Mobians heard it too, and they were distracted by it briefly before one of the anarchists turned around and was followed by almost half the rest of the group, and Sonic presumed that they were going to intercept whatever that other vehicle was.

"Where are your cronies off to?" Sonic taunted. "Are they scared? Or are you guys actually ballsy enough that you don't need their help?"

"Shut up, ass-wipe! Just tell us where your other G.U.N. officers are so we can kill them, along with every other motherfucker that is against us!" said one of the anarchists.

Sonic sighed heavily and his head dropped. He started a slow walking towards the pro-Mobians and continued his taunting as they raised their guns again. "You know, you guys should really knock off the language. Of course, there are women in your ranks which are no doubt all cunning linguists in their own right, as are all of your members not-at-all-cunning runts pulling off not-at-all-cunning stunts."

The anti-humanists grew mad and considered firing again, but were wondering if it would be any different to their earlier efforts. Sonic continued speaking. "You know, maybe if any one of you had a sliver of a brain cell and actually thought about the consequences of your actions, you might have come so much further. And yet, here you are, challenging a group who is better than you all in every way. You know you're all just going to lose again, right? You're like a zombie that pops its head out of the grave. One quick bash with a shovel, and down you go again."

"So, what are you going to do?" asked one of the anarchists. "Bash us all again? Send us all back down?"

"I would, but sadly that's not up to me," Sonic replied.

That got him a curious look from some of the members, but he vanished again before they could ask him what it was all about. The next sight they saw was several G.U.N. agents coming out from their covers and aiming at the pro-Mobians.

"This is Scourge of G.U.N.'s Tactical Division!" the green hedgehog said. "You are all under arrest!"

"Does it feel good to say that?" Rosy asked.

"Eh. Little bit."

Rosy chuckled and then turned her attention back to the pro-Mobians. "All of you, drop your weapons and surrender! Don't make this any harder than it needs to be!"

The anarchists looked around, still confused, before seeing Sonic joining the other G.U.N. agents, also aiming at them. Growling and screaming, the pro-Mobians lifted their weapons and began firing, causing the G.U.N. members to duck down and hide behind the cover.

"Man... these guys might be behind on weaponry a little, but they know how to use it," Scourge said.

"Do we have a plan to get around that?" Sonic asked.

"We do. Sonic, I want you and Rosy to go around the left. There's a series of alleyways that you should be able to use to sneak past and get the drop on these guys. Take a couple of soldiers with you. I'll hold the ground here with the rest," Scourge said.

"Stay safe," Rosy said as she got up to move to Sonic, who was already shuffling on his way to the alleyways.

"You too," Scourge replied, popping out of cover and firing to hold off the pro-Mobians, hitting one of them in the arm and causing him to fall to one knee.

Rosy, Sonic, and a couple of other soldiers managed to slip around and carefully moved to the alleyways on their left, occasionally firing blind from their cover to provide support to Scourge and his group. Bullets whizzed past and slammed against concrete, metal, brick, and stone, and Sonic thanked his lucky stars that his own skin wasn't on the list. Soon, he and the others made it to the alleyway, which would be the first of many.

"Do any of you guys know you're way around this maze?" Sonic asked as the gunfire continued between Scourge and the anarchists.

Rosy spoke up. "I do. You want me to take point?" she asked.

Sonic nodded, and the pink hedgehog in question moved in front of everyone else. She navigated around the alleyways easily, never losing track of where she was going, and making sure all the others were close behind.

"How do you know your way around this place?" asked a soldier.

"As part of my training, one of them was a simulation that was almost exactly laid out like this. I'll never forget about how it went," Rosy answered as they got closer to the end.

"How come you won't forget it?" asked Sonic.

"Because it was the first one I ever did right in one go. I'd never studied it before, but I guess I didn't have to. When you move around a lot like I did as a kid, you kind of get used to the new environments," Rosy replied.

"That makes sense," Sonic said. "When I was on the run from the police before meeting with my mom and siblings again and doing my training with them, I did pick up a few things from still running around. I sneaked away from police officers that were still after me, I stole food if I needed to to move quickly in and out. You know, the usual."

"I don't think my moving around ever got me that status. But you know, more power to you," Rosy said jokingly.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to show off," Sonic joked back.

Rosy smiled back, then turned her attention back to the last of the alleyways, making her move through the rest of them with Sonic and the other G.U.N. soldiers following closely behind. Before long, they reached the exit and had a clear line of sight on the pro-Mobians.

"There they are..." Rosy said.

"What's the plan here?" asked a soldier

"The only plan is aim, shoot, and hope you hit something," Sonic said, answering for Rosy, who nodded.

The pink hedgehog G.U.N. agent kept leading the soldiers and Sonic, and they walked from out of the alleyway into some cover. They noticed a couple more pro-Mobians had fallen dead, but there were a fair amount of them still alive and shooting. Sonic, Rosy, and the rest of the soldiers fired at them, easily felling some of them before some turned to see what was happening.

"We're being blind-sided!" said one of the pro-Mobians before getting a bullet to the stomach, falling to his knees.

Another turned to see what was happening, and he aimed at Rosy and her crew while a couple of his last remaining friends kept the pressure up on Scourge. The one firing at Rosy was soon joined by another of his compatriots, but that didn't change that they were hopelessly outclassed and outnumbered.

"Keep shooting! We need to hold them off for as long as we can!" Scourge shouted from where he was as he fired at another pro-Mobian, hitting him right in the eye.

"Hold us off?!" asked one of the bad guys. "What for?"

Scourge smiled and fired again. "Now that would be telling..."

"You've got to be holding us off for a reason! Tell-"

The anarchist was cut off as he got shot down by Rosy. He hit the ground hard, falling hard on his face and landing unconscious, easily falling to sleep while the chaos between his fellow anarchists and the G.U.N. soldiers.

"Aw. Our conversation was just getting good!" said Scourge, jokingly complaining about it. "It'll be a while before he wakes up again."

"He's not dead yet?!" asked a pro-Mobian.

"Nope. Rosy's a damn good shot. If she wanted your friend dead, she would have made it so herself," Scourge replied before shooting him down. He hit him right in the head, making the shot count. Blood spilled out and he fell to the ground hard.

"Is that the last of them?" asked Sonic.

Another G.U.N. soldier peeked his head over, but was immediately met with a bullet going right into his throat. Desperately, he put his hands on the wound, gargling and choking and trying whatever he could to stop it from happening. But eventually, his will gave up, and he fell back on the ground limply, proving that he died.

"Fuck!" yelled a soldier, going over to his dead friend. He debated in his mind whether or not he should look over as well, but decided against it. Instead, he closed the dead soldier's eyes as a show of respect before finding his place amongst the others that were still alive, still somewhat jittery but not showing it much.

"We've got a sniper!" yelled Rosy. "Everybody, stay down!"

Sonic nodded, but then got a static interference on his earpiece. He was about to switch it off when he heard Marshall's voice on the other side starting to speak.

"Hey. How are things?" asked Marshall.

"Not too bad. We took down most of them in our area, but we missed a sniper. The asshole just clipped one of our soldiers," Sonic replied.

Marshall sighed. "I hate snipers. I'll run a scan for him now and see if I can find him."

"How long will it take?" Sonic asked.

"And... done," the tall brown fox said happily. "He's hiding in a building on your upper left. Be careful. He has two other goons with him. Not snipers, but they've got shotguns. And the fast-firing type, too."

"Thanks for the assist. Me, Rosy, and our other guys will go up and take care of them. You help out Scourge however you can," replied Sonic.

"Oh, no! You're not leaving me behind!" Scourge said.

"We don't have time to argue about this!" Rosy said, butting in. "Sonic is right, Scourge. More people, be they G.U.N. soldiers or otherwise, will die if we don't handle this."

"And just what the hell do you expect us to do?" asked a soldier from Scourge's side. "Just sit here with our thumbs up our asses?"

"If it keeps you alive, then yes. That's exactly what I expect you to do," Rosy replied.

The soldier was about to start arguing, but Scourge cut in. "All right, guys. You heard the lady. Stay here and provide cover if necessary. And if any of those other anti-humanist assholes that got distracted earlier decide to make a comeback, then we'll put them under. But we keep that one guy alive. If he bleeds out, then we take another one in. Everybody understood?"

"Sir, yes, sir!" the soldiers replied in unison, including Rosy and Sonic.

"Well, it looks as though we have our cue now," said one of the G.U.N. soldiers.

Rosy chuckled and led the way, managing to sneak around the cover with the others following closely behind her. She kept looking back every now and then at the one soldier that had to close his comrade's dead eyes, and wondered in her mind if he was okay with everything. She soon shrugged these thoughts off and kept leading the way.

"Just stick with me and don't fall behind," the pink hedgehog G.U.N. agent said, turning back to the others.

Sonic nodded before replying. "So, what do we do when we reach the sniper and his pals?"

"Straight up kill them. We don't need any of them alive, provided that either Scourge or one of his guys can reach the guy that they knocked unconscious," Rosy replied.

"And what if that guy dies?" asked a soldier.

"Then we keep one of these three alive."

"How you guys doing over there?" asked Scourge over the earpiece.

"We're all good. We're almost at the place where the sniper shot," replied Sonic. "What about you? Is everything okay down there?"

"Things are all good. But it's too quiet. We haven't heard anything from whatever that vehicle was, so I have my doubts that it was G.U.N.. But if it was, then that means they either didn't make it or are still engaged with the enemy," Scourge said.

"How about we go and check that out after we've taken care of this?" asked Rosy as she and her group finally reached the door where the bad guys were.

"Sounds like a plan. Take care of yourselves up there, okay?" Scourge said.

"Why, Scourge, I didn't know you cared so much!" Sonic replied sarcastically.

"Would you all just get on with it?" Marshall said impatiently.

Everyone apologised in unison, and Rosy readied her gun as she leaned close to the door. She turned and mouthed counting from one to three, and everyone nodded along with her. When she finished, she moved back and kicked the door open, running in and followed closely by Sonic and the others. Without wasting any time, they all dashed for the staircase, ready to take down the sniper and his buddies.

"Guys, wait!" Marshall yelled over the earpiece.

"What?" asked Sonic.

"Don't move! There's a tripwire at the bottom of the staircase. You need to be careful," Marshall replied.

"It's fine," Rosy said. "I've done my share of bomb disposal before. I can take care of this."

"Rosy... the bombs are wedged right against the plastering inside the walls. If you go anywhere near them, you'll get killed. Just step over them carefully, one at a time."

One of the soldiers gulped a bit, and he stepped up to go first. Carefully, he lifted one foot and put it over the side of where the tripwire was. As soon as that was done, he quickly brought his other foot around and leaned against the wall, breathing heavily before walking up the staircase. He turned and gave a thumbs up to the others, signalling that the coast was clear.

"I'll go next..." said Sonic. He did the same thing as the first soldier did, carefully stepping over the tripwire and not being too hasty with his foot movements lest he risk being blown to smithereens. He made it up the staircase to join the G.U.N. soldier, and waited for the others.

The next person to go was the really jittery soldier from earlier, and he exhaled a deep breath in the hopes to calm himself down. He felt a hand on his shoulder and turned to see Rosy. "Are you going to be okay?" she asked him.

"I'll be fine. It's just... it's been a rough day, you know?"

"I know," Rosy replied. "Just watch yourself, okay?"

The soldier nodded, and turned his attention to the staircase. He carefully stepped over the tripwire, but then heard a crumbling sound from above. He looked up and saw a decent-sized piece of rubble falling. Before it could reach the soldier, there was a whizzing noise and the rubble was seen slamming against a wall, shattering instantly. The soldier looked up at Sonic.

"I owe you one for that," the soldier said with a smile.

"Don't mention it. Just try to get yourself up here. And be careful," Sonic replied.

The soldier smiled and nodded in reply before stepping the rest of the way over the tripwire, and making it up to Sonic and the other soldier. Rosy didn't take long to join them, and they were all on the staircase, mentally preparing themselves.

"That was pretty scary how quickly you managed to get over the tripwire," Sonic said to her, making her giggle.

"Well, like I said, I've handled bombs before. That was nothing new," the pink hedgehog replied as they all continued up the staircase.

"So, what's the plan?" asked a soldier. "Do we do this guns blazing or try to be sneaky?"

"I think sneaky is the best way. But first we need to find a way to distract them and separate them," Rosy answered. "Although how we're going to do that is a mystery to me."

"Marshall, do you have any ideas?" Sonic asked into his earpiece.

"Sorry, man. I've got nothing. They're pretty much trap free, but they're guarding their door well. If it was up to me, I'd set up an explosive for them and wait and see what happens. But you need to find a way to lure them out."

"It's cool, Marshall," Rosy said. "I think I have a plan."

"What is it?" asked a soldier.

The pink hedgehog smiled. "Well, I'm not only good at bomb disposal, but I've also gotten a skill at making a little something. I'll need all your grenades for this to work."

"Let's wait until we reach the where we have to be, first," Sonic interjected. He smiled at Rosy. "Lead the way, if you please."

Rosy smirked and nodded, and got in front of Sonic and the other G.U.N. soldiers, walking up the rest of the staircase. Luckily, there weren't any more booby-traps to worry about, and they had soon reached the floor where the bad guys were supposed to be when Marshall spoke again over the earpiece.

"You guys had better make that work quick. From the looks of things, we may have more bad guys to deal with outside," the tall brown fox said.

"So, was that distraction a G.U.N. van?" asked Sonic.

"It was. But oddly, there weren't many soldiers in it. Maybe there were more but some of them got lost in the crossfire, I don't know," Marshall said. "But whoever they were, they're gone now."

"We're all... we're all just dying, one by one..." a soldier said, leaning against a wall. "Why can't we just stop all of this madness?"

"We will, man," Sonic said, patting the soldier on shoulder to calm him down. "We'll all be fine. We'll get out of this and we'll go back to our homes and to our families and friends."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure. You just need to hang in there, okay?"

The soldier nodded and his expression sobered up somewhat. "Okay..."

Sonic smiled and turned to Rosy. "So, you said you needed our grenades, right?"

"Yes. But not all of them. Just one from each of you should do," she replied.

They all nodded and each gave her a grenade from their pockets. "The good thing about these grenades," she spoke as she went to work, "is that they're all flash-bangs. All we need to do is put those assholes off somehow, and this should do the trick..."

"How are we going to do that? We can't throw them all individually because that would take too long," Sonic said.

Rosy smiled as she grabbed some metal wire from one of her pockets. "I always keep this handy. It helps me to diffuse bombs sometimes, but now I'll be using it as a pin-puller."

Rosy gently pulled the pins about three centimetres out of the grenades before quickly reinserting them, making sure the grenades wouldn't go off. She then tied the metal wire around the circular part of the grenade pins, being careful so as not to accidentally activate them. When Rosy was finished tying the wire in, she slipped her hand under the grenades and picked them up before grabbed another piece of metal wire. She tied one end of it around her hand and then carefully tied the other end to the wire attached to the grenade pins, with some help from Sonic.

"On my count," Rosy spoke, "I will break down the door and throw the flash-bangs in. With a good yank on the metal wire tied to my hand, all the pins should come out and the grenades will go off. When they do, we take the bad guys out. Everybody got that?"

They all spoke in agreement. Rosy kicked the door open and the three pro-Mobians on the other side responded with brief shock before Rosy threw the flash-bang grenade cluster, and as soon as it was the right time, she pulled the wire back and pulled all the pins out at once. The flash-bangs all went off at once, and the bad guys were all disoriented and screaming and walking around, covering their eyes and hoping to find their ways around.

Without any hesitation, Rosy, Sonic, and the others burst in. Thanks to the visors on their helmets, they were able to see through the piercing light. They quickly dispatched the two lackeys holding the fast-firing shotguns, and then the light cleared to show the sniper.

"Ah... what happened?" he asked, still dazed. He got his answer when he saw a fist flying for his face, and was knocked down onto the ground. He held his nose as he backed away.

"That was for my friend..." said the soldier that punched him. He then stood over the sniper and picked him up by the collar, putting his gun to his neck. He pushed the muzzle hard against his neck, but then eased up a bit. "You're lucky that we might need you alive..."

"Oh yeah, that reminds me..." Rosy says. She spoke into her earpiece. "Scourge, did you manage to get to that unconscious guy?"

"We did. We're stitching him up as best as we can, and he's close to coming to," Scourge replied. "Is everything okay up there?"

"Yeah, we're all good," Sonic said.

The soldier holding the sniper up pulled the trigger, putting a bullet in his neck the same way the sniper had done to his friends. Blood spurted out, and the soldier dropped the pro-Mobian onto the floor, letting him bleed out.

"That means we don't need him any more..." the soldier said coldly.

"Fuck!" yelled Scourge. "The rest of the bad guys are back. Looks like they all survived without a scratch. We need you all back down here, now!"

"We're on our way," Sonic said.

"Looks like some of them are on their way to us," Rosy said, pointing out of the window as a few of the pro-Mobians saw her and the others.

Sonic let out a chuckle. "Good. That means that we can just wait back here a bit."

"What for?" asked a soldier.

"Well, for one thing they have to find us, and if they do, then there's that tripwire which they're all sure to fall for," Sonic replied.

"That reminds me, how did these bad guys manage to set that up?" asked the soldier.

"Maybe they set it up as a contingency plan," Rosy answered. "These guys aren't the smartest, but they know their way around a bomb. I'll give them that."

Their conversation was interrupted by the sound of gunfire outside. They looked and saw some pro-Mobians holding their own against Scourge and his group of soldiers, and noticed that half of the bad guys were gone. They were about to wonder why, but they got their answer when they heard an explosion.

"Huh. That wasn't as loud as I thought it would be," Sonic said.

"The plastering in the walls must have muffled the explosion a bit," a soldier replied.

"Speaking of walls, we'd better find some cover. We've got those guys down there and whoever's still alive from the explosion coming up here to deal with," Rosy said.

Sonic nodded and he and the others all found some decent cover to get behind. As soon as they heard the pro-Mobians' footsteps approaching them quicker, they slid out from their cover and fired at whoever they could, hitting two and leaving another two standing. One of the remaining two stepped through the doorway, only to be grabbed from behind by a soldier, who snapped his neck. The last one walked in slowly and raised his hands in surrender.

"I give up. Please, don't kill me," he said.

"Why are you-" Sonic started, but was soon silenced when he heard a beeping noise. "Oh, fuck!"

A soldier yelled in panic, and Rosy shot the suicide bomber in the head. As he fell to the floor, Rosy turned to the others. "We have to get out of here!"

The others didn't have time to argue or agree as Rosy had already started running. Sonic and the other soldiers followed closely behind, soon reaching the bottom of all the staircases, and as soon as the exited the building, there was a loud explosion from above. Sonic stopped as soon as they were all far away enough from it and looked up, only to see one of the dead pro-Mobian's hands fall to the ground in front of him.

"That's just weird..." Sonic said as he looked at the hand. He then noticed a weird insignia on the wrist of it, and bent down to pick the hand up and inspect it. He noticed it was circular and round, and looked like there was an evil grin on it.

Rosy came over to him. "What's up?"

Sonic turned around and showed her the hand, pointing to the symbol on the wrist. "Ever seen that before?"

Rosy shook her head. "No. Why? Have you?"

Sonic also shook his head and looked at the hand again. "I have no clue."

"I'll take a look at it later," Marshall said. "For now, you guys need to help out Scourge. He's still having trouble."

"We're on it."

They all made their way out of the maze of alleyways, thanks to Rosy's help, and they soon found their way back to the street, noticing a handful of the anti-humanists still standing and firing on Scourge and his group. Sonic was the first to take cover and was followed by the rest, and he took careful aim as he fired.

"Thanks for the assist," Scourge said over the earpiece as he fired.

"No problem. How's the unconscious guy?" asked Sonic.

"He's come around just now. We just need to finish killing these other assholes then we can ask him about where his base is and all that other stuff," Scourge said.

"All that other stuff?" Rosy said with a bit of humour in her voice.

"Hey, I've been shooting bad guys all day and had to make sure this one guy didn't die. It's hard for me to think too much right now," the green hedgehog replied with a chuckle.

Sonic laughed a bit and turned his attention back to the fight. He kept firing, as did his fellow friends, and soon the other pro-Mobians crumbled and fell dead, blood covering the ground and dead, limp bodies sticking to the floor.

"We're going to need a lot of coroners for today," said a soldier.

"I just hope that's all of them," replied another solider over the earpiece.

Scourge interrupted. "I need everyone over here. The guy's coming to."

"Wha... where..."

"You're alive," Scourge said as Rosy and Sonic and the others approached. "But if you don't cooperate with us, then you won't be alive for much longer."

"I'll-I'll tell you anything that you want to know! Just don't kill me!"

"Good. We'll keep this short then: where is your base?" Sonic asked.

"I'll show you!"

Rosy smiled. "That was easier than I thought."

Scourge shook his head and hooked his arms under the shoulders of the pro-Mobian to lift him up and turned to some G.U.N. soldiers. "Open the back of the van."

Two of the G.U.N. soldiers nodded and opened up the back of the van. Scourge pushed the pro-Mobian into the van. "Stay near the front of the van and direct us to where your base is. Got it?"

He got a nervous nod in reply before going into the van and starting it up, with Rosy taking the passenger's seat. Without wasting any time, they immediately started driving to the destination before Sonic heard Marshall over his earpiece.

"What's up, bro?" Sonic asked.

"Just wanted to check that you were all okay. Where are you guys going?"

"We're being directed to the base of these pro-Mobian assholes," Scourge answered. "I want you to redirect any of our remaining G.U.N. members to follow our van. Got it?"

"Will do," Marshall replied. He then spoke into his earpiece, a bit louder. "Attention all soldiers out in Station Square! Follow Scourge's van! I repeat, follow Scourge's van! He has a hostage that is leading him and his group to the base of the pro-Mobians!"

Sonic smiled and looked outside the van briefly to see several other G.U.N. vehicles following closely behind as their captured hostage kept giving directions. When they had reached their destination, they found themselves between Station Square and Mobius Highway.

A soldier opened the back of the van and shoved the hostage out, keeping his gun pressed to his back and telling him to lead the way. The hostage did just that, and Scourge, Rosy, Sonic, and all the other G.U.N. soldiers followed closely to a small alleyway which led to a staircase which in turn led to a small metallic door.

The hostage went down it and opened it up easily. "Here it is. This is where we all operate."

"Hey," Sonic interjected. He showed the hostage the hand of his dead friend and focused on the wrist area. "Do you know what this is?"

"I have honestly never seen that before," he replied. He earned a doubting look from Sonic, so he showed his wrists off as well, showing that they were clean. "See? Is this good?"

"Yeah. That's good."

"Thank you for your cooperation," a soldier behind the hostage said before shooting him in the back several times, killing him.

Everyone else stepped inside it, and noticed that it was completely barren and empty, meaning that the rest of the pro-Mobians had either already been killed or were still out there. Sonic glanced around and noticed several posters that were all stating that superiority of Mobians over humans and how weak humans were and the like.

"What is all this stuff?" Sonic said.

"It looks like grounds to start a war," replied Scourge. Suddenly, a light switched on and everyone focused their attention on the source of it.

Sonic led the way as they all approached it. They came across several racks of weapons, armour, and other artillery like items. Sonic glanced over it all and noticed a small note attached to one of the racks, and he had a look at it. It didn't have any writing, but it did feature that same insignia that he saw earlier on the sniper's wrist; only this time, it was red in colour. Sonic's eyes widened in horror as he knew what that meant, and a familiar sound of evil laughter buzzed through his eardrums.

"Oh no..."
