Witches and wizards that had followed Skye came in to circle the defeated Gabriel. His hands were restrained behind his back and his wand was found kicked aside out of his reach. Gabriel kept his head bowed. He looked at no man or woman, not until they had all back away, satisfied that he couldn't escape from his fate. That's when he looked up. His eyes found Skye's and she watched as the last hint of red left his eyes, while hers burned with fire. She had become the most powerful of her bloodline, and Gabriel knew it. He watched as Rydus flew down to stand behind her, giving the young girl such a majestic backdrop that he lowered his head again.

'You did it, Skye. You have saved the race of dragons, and your own blood.' Rydus' voice filled her mind with pride. Yes. She had done exactly what she had set out to do. She, alongside dragons, had saved Dragon Hills, saved a race, and her family. But she had also saved Fred. Around her, dragons circled her, landing around her as her companions rushed to join her. The four teens embraced in such a tight hug that it'd have put even Mrs Weasley to shame. Damon looked on, a smile on his face.

The bond between those four friends had grown to incredible strengths over the duration of their journey and Damon was glad he had been there to witness it. In fact, for the first time since they left his house, he could honestly say he was glad that Skye had led her friends to him against her better judgement. A lot had changed in such a small time and he was thrilled to have been there to help it progress. He watched as the group broke away and Skye turn to him. She smiled at him, as she had never done before, before rushing to him and embracing him in a hug of his own. The difference in their relationship was the biggest change to have occurred in this whole ordeal. Two families that once were divided, sworn enemies, were now re-united and the bond stronger than Gabriel had ever known.

Spectators looked on at the five travelers that were now surrounded by a ring of proud creatures, all standing tall and powerful. The morning sun was rising, throwing a golden light onto the scales, causing them to shine with all different colours. Rydus stood in the middle, alongside Skye, and his black scales shone with such beauty that all that saw him were frozen in their places, their eyes drawn to the magnificent beast that stood out above all other dragons.

"Witches and wizards," started Skye. "Warriors of the greatest dragon war in years. Spectators to history. Today we are stood in Dragon Hills, and for the first time in over 1,500 years, there is no threat. There is nothing but beautiful land that stretches out for miles. This land shall now, and forever, be the home to these beautiful beasts. To whichever dragons that wish to stay, they shall find only peace here."

People stood around listening to Skye. She looked taller, powerful. She was center of attention and for once she didn't mind. She was the voice of the dragons, the voice that had brought so much change to the world in just a night. Dragon Hills was left in peace for as long as dragon dwelt there and no witch or wizard that ever visited came to harm the animals. Thanks to Skye's power, dragon and human became the most unlikeliest of allies. People would travel from all over the world to admire the spectacular home of the free dragons. And all marveled at the sight of them.

Through the crowd, a familiar face caught Skye's attention. There, stood just inside the large crowd of spectators came the faces of her parents. They were stood together, their hands linked and their faces full of pride as tears fell down their cheeks. They stepped out of the crowd, cautiously, but Skye ran to them, and soon the three were stood in the longest embrace Skye could remember since Sahara's death.

"What were you thinking?" cried her mother. The tears fell, but a smile was etched onto her face. Lucy had so many emotions flowing through her that she didn't know which one was strongest. Pure joy to find their daughter alive, sadness that she had left without letting them know, pride to see Skye so powerful, so loved. The emotions all tumbled out together, and Lucy was a blubbering mess beside her husband.

"I didn't think you'd let me do this if you knew," explained Skye.

"Of course we wouldn't have!" replied her father. He had been angry with Skye when she hadn't come home at all after their chat, but at that moment, he couldn't be angry at her. "But we are so glad that you did."

"You had been so down and upset since Sahara's death. But just then, seeing you up there with your friends and all these dragons, you were our Skye again," smiled Lucy, as she wiped her eyes. "And that's all we ever wanted for you."

"Come. There are some people I want you to meet." Skye took her mother's hand and she led her parents into the center of the ring.

"Mum, Dad. You already know Rox and Damon, but let me introduce Fred, George, and Rydus." She pointed to each one in turn, ignoring the shocked expressions of her parents faces when the recognized Damon for who he was, but loved the look of awe that came over their faces when they took in Rydus. Her parents acknowledged each in turn and Skye left her parents talking to Damon, pulling Fred away from the group.

"Hi." He smiled down at her as she looked up at him, pure adoration shining in her eyes. She rolled her eyes and took a step closer to him.

"I'm glad you're OK." She wrapped her arms around his neck, linking her fingers behind his head.

"I'm glad you're OK," he repeated as his hands went to her waist.

Just as she raised herself to her tiptoes and kissed Fred tenderly, the dragons all took off, soaring through the sky. Their colours filling the sky in an art that hadn't been seen in centuries. The power that coursed through the dragons was no-where near as powerful as that which now flowed through Skye and Fred, and they reveled in it. Fred pulled her close to him, as close as he muster, and her arms tightened around his neck, holding herself to him. Never had such a love been more powerful than right then. The couple stood under thousands of dragons that decorated the sky just for them. The golden glow of the sun shone around then, encasing them in light.

Fred reluctantly pulled away and placed his forehead on hers. "By the way. I love you too."

That hour was one that went down in history. The dragon's of the world had once again reclaimed their home, the threat of Gabriel had been diminished and Skye became leader of the dragons for the new age. Her and Rydus were linked forever until the day Skye passed away, and Rydus lived on for many more years, King of Dragons.

Dragon Hills; once the bane of dragon kind, had now become a dragon's home.
