Hey everyone! I'm sick with a damn cold again, but I'll make an update for you all! I'll try to make this a lot longer because the next chapter is going to be the very last one...I think? Sad to say, but I've done this a little too much. And I'm wanting to write another story, or rewrite one of my other stories. I'll need to finish this one and another before I start. I have too much anyways... I'm not saying it is the last, or not, but we'll see how I write this. :3

Also, I have a good friend here who asked me to advertise their story for you all. Seganumber1fan wrote a story called 'Call this storie whatever you want'. Its a first story and still working on it, but I'm sure that it'll be a good story. Make sure you read it and review, or PM the author. Thank you and enjoy!

Plus, my birthday is tomorrow! Woo! I'm not telling you my age, cause I hate telling people how old I am. Its not you, just me thinking I'm getting too old...but I'm excited for some friends of mine making me awesome stories and pictures! If you like, go ahead and wish me a happy birthday, or like my stories. I'll be happy with that. :D

chapter 29

Amy sat alone in her room on the bed dangling her legs on the side. Her hand was nestled on her flat stomach trying to feel anything inside. She still couldn't believe that she was going to be a mother. She hadn't had any of the symptoms. Amy thought of some days where she had grown sick, but only her light headed nausea affected her. She rarely had any sickness, but only headaches.

This time, she was feeling something inside that was turning her stomach inside out, "Maybe...I am pregnant..?" she moaned feeling her lower body ache suddenly.

It was only a small cramp, but it still scared her. What if Lancelot found out. The fear of that roamed her head scaring the poor girl into thinking of what her beloved knight would do. She heard from someone in the viliage that a nearby town had a man killed his love for having a baby. His baby.

The thought of Lancelot holding a blade to her scared her. She grabbed the raggid blanket and cloaked it around her shoulders holding it tightly. Her body shook and her teeth chattered. She looked like she was cold, but really, she was shaken with fright, "I hope he would get here soon...but what if he doesn't? I said cruel things to him...I ran away..." she sobbed covering her face in her hands.

Her tears were silenced when she heard the door, locked from outside, being knocked hard, "M-Mephiles...?" Amy spoke up quietly.

Another hard knock was heard before a familiar voice echoed outside, "Amy?! Are you in there?!".

Her heart stopped beating when she heard that voice. Amy's eyes widened feeling herself leap off the bed onto the cold ground, "Sonic? I-Is that really you?!" she called out rushing towards the door.

Outside, Sonic was holding the broken spear he had picked up while knocking on the door with his free hand. When he heard her voice, terrified but happy to hear his, a smile appeared onto his face, "Don't worry, Amy! I'm coiming to get you!" he shouted back.

He heard her thumping on the door to break out herself, "Sonic, please! I'm scared! I want out of here!" she pleaded hearing her voice crack like she was starting to cry.

With a nod, he placed his hand on the door and shouted, "I will get you out! Stay back from the door! And whatever you do, cover your face!".

Hearing her feet shuffle quickly away from the door, he backed away slightly, then held the stick up in two hands, then started to swing hard onto the wooden door. Hard bangs echoed through the tower walls down to the bottom. Sonic continued to swing as hard as he could to break open the door. Scratches were made, but it wasn't deep enough to break. Even the stick was getting hard to use having it break to pieces while it was being used.

Finally with one quick swing, Sonic threw down the stick connecting to the door only for it to immediately break apart. He stumbled a little from his fast actions, "Damnit!" he cursed throwing the broken half away tumbling down the stairs.

"Sonic..?" he heard her whimper.

It pained him to hear her cries. The pain began to grow into a deep rage, "No..., "he growled slamming his fists onto the scratched up door, "I won't be defeated! I didn't come all this way to fail!".

"Sonic...I know you can do it...please think inside! Use your speed, your strength, anything!" Amy shouted out.

The male hedgehog lowered his head down resting his forehead onto the flat wodden surface of the strong structure. He quietly growled to himself trying desperately to find a way. He wasn't strong enough to rip the door out of the way. No stick can handle this type of barrier. His speed might not...

Emerald eyes widened, "Wait...speed...THAT'S IT!" he shouted backing away from the door, "Amy! Remember when we back at the village a long time ago and I showed you a trick to knock over things easily?!".

It took a few seconds for Amy to understand what he was saying, "Um...I'm not quite sure what your saying...!" she nerousely replied back. Sonic smirked.

"Then, I shall help you remember!" backing away as far as he could almost to the edge of the top of the stairs, "Just keep your eyes covered...!".

He knelt down on one knee and hunched forward placing his hands on the floor, "Ok...here's three long years of training finally being payed off..." he whispered.

He ducked his head and then his whole body into a spked ball. Then began to spin in place getting up to speed. The sound of the spin started to get louder and louder each second he revs. When Sonic was up to speed, a strong glowing light surrounded his round body telling him to attack. Jumping back, he pushed himself as hard as he could at the door immediately connecting to it.

The hard surface connected to his spinning body trying to hold from breaking. Sonic jumped off, then quickly back onto the door. He did this a few times getting harder each hit. The pounding he was making began to show as the door was losing the battle having so much spinters and wood being broken off. the door was almost close to breaking completely. Only one more will do. Sonic took one last jump back, then thrusted forward connecting as hard as he could.

The connection was enough to destroy the door to pieces finally breaking into the room. Sonic landed onto the floor in the room slowing down his speed as bits and pieces of the wooden barrier fell to the floor around him. He stopped and moved himself out of the form resting his body flat on his stomach. He panted a little feeling his head ache from the hard hits he took.

"Sonic!" he heard a gasp in front of him followed by rushing footsteps.

Amy knelt down to his and carefully rolled him over on his back, "Sonic! Sonic!" she called out, "Please answer me!".

His eyes slowly opened looking a bit dazed out, "Uggh..." he groaned, "That...was...fun...".

Smiling happily, Amy couldn't contain herself enough to fall onto her rescuer in a big hug. Sonic flinched from the hug feeling a deep pain inside where she hit, but kept the painful noise inside when he heard her sob onto his chest. Siting up carefully, he wrapped his arms protectively around her body pulling her close to him, "It's ok, Amy...your safe now." he assured her with a loving smile.

Her arms tightly wrapped around his shoulders and her face buried in his chest letting out happy tears. Her time in prison is over and she is finally going home with Sonic, "Thank you so much...!" she sobbed.

Sonic chuckled quietly, "Your welcome. I'm glad I got here in time." he carefully stood up helping her to her feet, "We need to get out of here. Espio and Alicia are-!" Amy's head flew off his chest looking up at him shockingly.

"He found her?! Is she all right?!" she asked frantically. Sonic nodded.

"Yes. He's pretty pissed at me for hitting him in the face. Long story...but their downstairs at the bottom of th tower wating for you. Alicia was very worried about you".

"I see...I was worried too when Mephiles did that awful thing to her..."Amy looked down for a second, then quickly back up with the same look, "What about, Sir Lancelot? Where is he?".

He shrugged, "I don't know. I'm sorry, Amy." Sonic said with his ears slightly drooped, "But...I'm sure he's safe somewhere looking for you.".

Her heart slightly ached. Amy was happy that someone saved her. She was happy Sonic had come to her ade, but she wished her knight was the one who would save her. She nodded slowly, "I see." she said sadly looking down.

A warm hand pressed against her cheek moving her face up to Sonic's seeing him smile down at her, "It's goin to be alright. Trust me." he assured her.

Amy couldn't help, but smile a weak grin to him. She was still sad inside, but for his sake, she should at least be a little happy. Pulling away, he reached down grabbing her hand, "Le'ts go" he said before turning around and carefully walking out the door.

Amy followed quickly behind him. She also had the thought of telling him about her biggest discovery. But knowing his attitude and over protective feelings to her, she had to let it remain a secret for the time being till she told Lancelot first. She only hoped that he wasn't going to be angry with her.

Lancelot lead the way down the darkened halls with his old friend behind. He never released his hand from hers fearing that they would be departed again. While he continued down the halls seeing several old and new bodies scattered around the floors, he ran around a corner to see it was the same hallway they took.

Stopping abruptly, Lancelot looked down both halls trying to know what went wrong, "What is this?" he asked himself, "It's the same hallway! We're goin garound in circles!".

Maria, never changing her smilng look, she looked down the hall quietly giggling, "Oh Lancelot. Have you not been trained well?" she joked.

The knight turned to her confused, "What are you talking about, Maria?" he asked.

She walked passed him slowly letting go of his hand before he could even say, "You shouldn't judge what you see. It's like the old saying. 'Don't judge a book by it's cover'." she continued to giggle while making her way down to the end of the hall.

Lancelot watched her carefully. He noticed that she wasn't going around the corner like they did before, but going to the stone wall end. Maira stopped in front of the wall, then moved her hand up and reached for the flat surface, "Maria? What are you doing?" asked the knight that was quickly walking over to her finally.

The young lady looked back at him and smiled before instantly disappearing through the wall. Lancelot's ruby eyes widened, "Maria!" he shouted rushing over to the wall.

He stopped in front of it and stood there, "Maria! Maria, where are you?!" he called out frantically.

He hear her giggle from the other side, "Step through. It's alright, Lancelot." she told him cheerfully.

Lancelot looked at it curiously and moved his hand up to it like she did. Carefully, he placed it onto the flat wall, but it instantly went through. Pulling back in shock, Lancelot stared at the wall with amazement. Mephiles is a very good at tricking his victims. He moved it back to the wall having it faze through again, then slowly his whole arm, soon half his body began to move through the trick wall.

He slowly made his way to the other side stepping away from the wall, "How...?" he whispered himself staring at the now look alike of the stone structure.

"You are so funny." Maria giggled behind him standing there with her hands behind her back and a bright smile on her face.

The knight turned to her confused, "How did you know about this?" he asked her. She shrugged.

"It was just pure luck, I guess." she answered smiling cutesy.

He stared at her with a little bit of confusion, "But...you...that doesn't make any sence...how could you not know, yet you looked like you knew what it was right there?".

Maria sighed shaing her head playfully, "Lancelot, you should keep your mind on one thing. And that's finding your friend. Remember?" she mentioned.

Lancelot shook his head himself shaking away the confusing nonsence he was thinking of, "No...your right. I should keep my mind on finding her. I hope this time, we are on the right path." he said looking past her down a different hallway.

The young lady looked down the way he was staring at and turned fully to face it, "Let's find out, shall we?" she happily suggested. Lancelot's ears slightly twitched.

"Maria...your so...different." he spoke up quietly.

She turned her head to him smiling a little this time, "Whatever do you mean?" she asked.

"Just...your attitude...how your always smiling and before that time...you were always so scared. You hid behind me sometimes when we were in a fight. And you never thought of going into any sort of area like this. Something dangerous.".

Both of them stood still, staring at each other for what seemed to be such a long time. Maria held her tiny smile, but something inside her eyes were different. They had a weird look to them, almost dark. Lancelot thought he could've seen a bit of demonic look into her features, but it quickly escaped his mind when she threw on her brave smile again.

"Lancelot, I'm sorry that you think that, but I've been here for a long time. My death was only made to make you and others think I was dead, but Mephiles had taken me away for so long I've been keeping myself from being terrified. I've done well. Don't you think?".

The knight continued to stare at her wondering if she was telling the truth, or not. He did remember how she wanted him to teach her how to be brave. So it looked like it was showing well like she asked. He slowly nodded his answer unable to speak. Maria nodded happily, "Good. Now let us go and find your special friend!" she said reaching over to grab his hand and pull him along with her down the hall.

Lancelot had no choice, but to follow her. He still had his suspicion of why she was acting like this, but maybe it was a good thing? He kept his thoughts to himself as the two ran down the stony halls making it out of the trickery they were in and off to find their friends.
