Fragile Crystal Life
Chapter 29: The Hunt

"That's right marble freak. I'm the one who you should be talking to," he stated, making Mas furious. "You shall pay!" Mas roared as a large marble appeared out of the blue behind him with a genderbend version of him sleeping in side. Raising his hand, he slashed him hand downwards, controlling the marble to smash as it collided with the floor. Within a burning haze, a girl identical to Mas stood up and smirked at Gajeel. "I think that stupid jerk deserves to join the –" Suddenly, the duplicate girl shattered into pieces, shocking Mas as Takuto got out of his crater with an agitated look. "Annoying freak. Just beat him up already Gajeel," Takuto said before walking away, leaving Gajeel to fight with his heart's content.

They continued running down the hallway where the echoes of glass shattering were heard slightly far away and fading. Lucy looked behind, expecting Takuto to be behind her like the usual, but this time, he wasn't. Frowning, worried about the both of them, she decided to carry on their pride and turned to face forward where Erza and Mirajane were looking after the little Sky Maiden in the white-haired girl's arm.

"How's Wendy?" Gray asked, looking over to examine the girl who's still pale and fragile. Mirajane looked over and shook her head. "We're not too sure. Hopefully nothing happens to Takuto – His magic is linked onto his body. If something bad happens, the healing will stop and we'll have to do aid her with the little things we have," Mirajane explained, making everyone worry even more. Juvia felt a pang in her heart as she looked at Wendy's small body which was slowly healing. "Maybe Juvia should've stayed back to fight her," she whispered.

Erza continued on running, looking ahead in the distance where the hallway ended into a large room. "Either way… We don't know what they're planning…" she mumbled. Natsu angrily punched his other palm with his flaming fists. "Those bastards," he snarled, slowing down his pace to run along with Lucy. "Are you alright Luce?" he asked as he noticed her worried facial expressions.

The blonde looked at him in question. "Don't you feel it? I feel a dark negative energy ahead…" she said. Erza and Mirajane nodded. "I can feel it too – And it's getting close," Gray stated before they all ran into the room where it was pitch black. "Where are we?" they asked. Suddenly, the room was lit up with bright light where everyone covered their eyes to prevent them from getting blind. But, other than that, Lucy remained to keep her eyes closed since her magic was Celestial God and Dragon Slaying – Allowing her the advantage of looking at very bright things since stars were really bright in space.

"Who are you?" Lucy boldly asked as she slashed her arm horizontally to slice the bright glowing object into half which exploded. "Ice-Make: Shield!" Gray blindly cried out, creating a large ice shield which defended everyone from the explosion where smoke came slamming into the shield where the heat slowly withered the ice into a thin defence object. Since the light vanished, everyone weakly opened their eyes and squinted them, adjusting their eyesight back to normal.

As they remembered Lucy's question, everyone looked around, noticing that the well-lit room was around two storeys high with royal markings on their cement walls. The room was more likely to be used as a ballroom as the floorings were decorated with glass tiles with a throne far in front of them with a large desk sitting in front. Above on the second storey, the same replica of the throne was seen sitting on top. Where they stood, the walls were cream-coloured with small amounts of torchlights hanging within each gap between large arc windows. There, hanging above them, hung a large crystal chandelier.

"Where are we?" Erza asked, looking around where chatters of footsteps were heard coming closer. "Answer us!" Natsu roared.

Slowly, a whole crowd came walking up to the walls above where they looked down upon them with wicked grins. Loud booming footsteps were heard and a wholesome dragon's bellow was heard nearby – Along with the magical sound of ice being created in the background.

"Are those the fairies from the GMG?"

"Look how pitiful they look."

"I'm surprised that Samantha was defeated by one of them – The small one isn't it."

"I want to see how pitiful they look when they fall…"

"Disgusting creatures."

Clapping was heard and suddenly, everyone's attention was lured towards the black-haired boy who was sitting on the throne with an eye-patch covering his left eye. "Where's Sakura? And what do you want with Lucy?!" Erza yelled out. Silence filled the room as they all looked over to the boy sitting there casually. "And is this how you speak to a guild master?" the boy asked as he kicked his leg over the other dominantly. Erza took a step back in threat but took that taken step back forwards. "A dark guild master? I don't show respect to people like them," she replied as the room slowly echoed with the viewer's daunting whispers of disrespect.

"Fire Dragon's Roar!" Natsu angrily bellowed, releasing his flamethrower over to the boy who flicked it away in ease where four familiar people appeared standing behind him. "Rei's there…" Juvia whispered where everyone looked confused for a moment. "But I thought she was fighting against Gajeel," Lucy said. "What have you done with Gajeel?!" Mirajane cried out. Rei smirked and feigned innocence. "Rei-chan found Gajeel annoying, so Rei-chan left him with Mas," she stated.

Juvia was about to say something until the boy held up his hand to silence them with a sly grin. "I welcome you to our party, but it seems a little farfetched, so let's make it more extravagant by playing a game. Fairies… All of you except for Lucy Heartfilia can run around within this very building. My members will all hunt you down. Let's see who'll l-" "And why does Lucy have to stay here alone?!" Natsu growled, interfering Akira's speech where he looked over to him angrily.

Ren and Kuroko leaned over and smirked. "So we can have some fun with her," Kuroko stated. "We've been aching to have her for some time," Ren added, making Natsu's patience run low. "What do you want from me?!" Lucy cried out. Kuroko tipped his head and tilted it over to the other. "Since you have like… two bodies… We don't have to worry about finding twins. Not only that… She holds onto two unique types of magic," he answered with a sly grin where Ren licked his lower lip hungrily.

Lucy took a warning step back and snarled at them. "Assholes, be careful… If we're separated, who knows what may happen," her other side stated as she appeared semi-transparently besides Lucy where the twins all awed to in excitement. "And that's why we want you. To pull you two apart and treat you guys like pets until you die," Ren said. "You… What do you mean she holds onto two types of magic?! Lucy's a Celestial Summoning mage!" Natsu snarled to, flames lighting up around his fists where another roar shook the building.

Rei looked up and chuckled, ignoring Natsu's rage. "Sakura-sama must be having fun with an intruder," she stated, making everyone freeze. "Where's Sakura?!" Lucy roared where Akira chuckled to as he took off his eye-patch to reveal his uneven coloured eyes. "I thought you had the same-coloured eyes!" Mirajane said, looking at him in confusion. Akira sighed and waved them to go. "I'm not bothered explaining. I'd run now if I were you," he said as the guild members of The Depthira's all jumped down to the main floor.

Erza quickly pulled out two of her swords and threw them into the air where she quickly summoned over fifty different blades which levitated behind them. "Go my blades!" she cried out where she threw them all down to the members to take a step back. She hastily turned around, "Hurry up everyone!" she yelled. Fairy Tail hesitated for a moment, but they quickly followed where Natsu and Lucy were the only ones left behind as they witnessed the guild all chasing after their friends.

"Fire Dragon's Roar!"

"Celestial Dragon's Roar!"

The two gave out their raging roars as they knocked half of the population. Hearing an applause, they both turned around to find Ren and Kuroko standing in front of them with linked arms and a nasty grin. The demon-like woman and Rei walked passed the twins and swiftly brushed passed the other two in silence before dashing into the hallway with wicked eyes. "I hope you both die!" Rei cheered as her voice lingered in the air, making Lucy shiver in horror before quickly jumping away where a giant black hand attempted to grab her.

"Just what do you want exactly?! You never answered my question! What do you mea-" Natsu was suddenly interrupted by Lucy. "I'm a Celestial Dragon and God Slayer!" Lucy cried out, clenching her fists tightly which shook in fury. "I learnt this to prevent myself from having powerful explosions. I don't even know everything myself!" she added as she dropped her head to look to the floor. "I don't even know why my other half was in a crystal… Why can't you let me live in peace like before?!" Lucy roared.

"They're not giving up are they?!" Erza asked as she looked over her shoulder to look at the crowd running after them. Mirajane nodded as she remained looking straight where she spotted an open door. "In here!" she cried out, following after Erza who made a sharp turn to fly inside. Panting inside the dark room, it was quickly lit up with glowing, beating hearts which were surrounding them all over the room. "Welcome to Grande Blood," a voice whispered as it echoed throughout the room.

Mirajane looked around with firm eyes and gently placed Wendy on a lounge chair where the glowing orb flickered for a moment, shocking her as she thought about Takuto, whose whereabouts were unknown. She looked up where a shadow of a demon was seen behind a wall of glowing, beating hearts. "My name is Amu… I serve under my beloved Akira," the voice introduced where the beating hearts all disintegrated into bats which flew up into the roof where it vanished under the moonlight which was revealed after being covered by a dark grey cloud.

"Are you here to hunt us down as well?" Erza asked as she looked behind to find the guild smirking behind them. Amu chuckled as she faked being surprised. "Those are mere puppets made by Zak," she stated, waving her hand across the air where the guild members all vanished within in instance. "Satan Soul," Mirajane whispered as she transformed into her most common Demon Take-over. Amu looked at Mirajane interestingly as she examined her outfit. "I'm surprised that I'm not the only demon in this very palace," she said where Mirajane clicked her tongue to.

"You're messing with the wrong guild," Erza warned as she pulled out a sword to point it over to Amu of snickered. "Fascinating. I haven't seen such idiots for a long time – Other than Kuroko and Ren of course," she said before she grabbed a beating heart to take a large bite out of it. As she bit into the heart, the two winced in horror as they watched the blood squirt down onto floor. "Let's have some fun, fairies."

"Ice-Make: Lance!"

"Water Slicer!"

The two water-related mages dashed down the hallway which was filled with turns and twists. Both stopping to stand inside a new grand hall, they were both surrounded by the guild members who cackled evilly towards them. Panting, Juvia and Gray stood back to back to cover more ground rather than be blinded by one side. "What do we go Gray-sama? We're surrounded," Juvia asked as she looked from left to right.

Gray took a deep breath in and smirked. "We fight," he answered before Juvia smiled to herself. "We won't lose!" Juvia cried out as Gray slammed his fist onto left palm. "Ice-Make: Saucer!" Gray yelled out, creating a large ice spinning disk which spun its way towards the guild where it made a sharp turn to spin around Gray and Juvia, knocking away any enemies on its way. Juvia quickly followed in pursue as she held out her hands, palms facing outwards to the slowly getting up members. "Water Beam!" she then cried out, casting a strong jet of water to push her opponents into the wall. "Water Lock!" Locking onto her opponents, who were now trapped in a large orb of water, she quickly slammed the bubble down.

As they fought, they noticed something… "Gray-sama… Are these people, not real?" Juvia asked as she watched then slowly vanish. "Why, of course they're not real," a voice suddenly echoed where a childish giggle was heard besides them. Turning to their left/right, in front of them stood Rei who was smiling innocently at them. "We meet again, huh," Gray stated as they both turned to face Rei frontwards.

She performed a little curtsey before letting go of her dress to flutter down to her knees. "I suppose it must be fate –" Juvia's eyebrow twitched, not liking the whole "It must be fate" thing. "- For you to have your blood being taken by me," Rei finished where something snapped within Juvia's mind. Looking at Rei, she glared at her threatenly. "Must be fate? To draw Juvia's Gray-sama's blood away from him?" Juvia asked as her voice changed into a dark sullen tone (Like the one she used when she was up against Meredy).

Gray looked at her as her eyes flashed a hint of red as a warning. Rei shrugged it off with a giggle as she held up a hand-sewn plush of Gray. "Remember this?" she asked, making Juvia flinch as she examined the Gray plushie in her hand. "Juvia made that for…" "That's right Juvia Lockster. You made that so you can carry it around to comfort yourself when your beloved wasn't watching you," Rei interfered, making Gray look at her weirdly. "How did you get it?" Juvia asked in an angered tone, hanging her head down low to allow her bangs to cover her eyes.

Rei giggled and threw it high in the air. "I went over to your guild and found it in the corner of a room," she answered before she raised her right arm with her fingers folded like a hand gun. "Bang," Rei simply said, creating a sound effect of a gun being shot. There, under her own words, a bullet of blood was shot out, shooting through the plushie's heart where it was dropped down to onto the floor – Where she stomped her feet onto it.

"Re-i!" Juvia cried out as she looked up with furious eyes, running up to her, she raised her leg to kick the child into the wall. "Now we're getting somewhere!" Rei cackled as she stopped herself from slamming into a wall. She looked up to find Juvia not done with her previous attack. "No one will be hurting Gray-sama! Water Nebula!"

He threw Mas into the wall and created an iron lance out of his hands. "You're so fucking annoying!" cussed Gajeel as he plummeted his lancing fist into Mas's stomach, who groaned painfully as he looked down to his stomach where his marble was shattered into tiny pieces. He morphed his iron lance back to his original hand and quickly yanked Mas's collar to make himself feel more superior. "No matter how many fucking times I try to destroy you. It simply had to be a dummy!" he roared before throwing Mas into the wall again.

Mas coughed up some blood and pulled himself from the wall. "Like you should be talking – All I hear from your piercing mouth is 'Iron Dragon' this, 'Iron Dragon' that," he mocked, agitating Gajeel even more. "You piece of shi-" "What? Did you expect myself to be one of the strongest in this very building?" Mas interrupted where five orbs appeared in front of him.

Gajeel snarled and looked at each orb. There, suddenly, images began to appear, playing and showing him what was happening around them. "Amu-sama, Kuroko and Ren-sama, Rei-chan, Taira-sama and Sakura-sama. They are our strongest allies in this guild, and soon, they will kill you all," Mas stated before looking over to Gajeel who was examining each one. What shocked him most was that Gajeel was looking at each marble with a grin on his face.

"So who is this Taira? I never heard of her before," Gajeel asked, fascinated about the new name said. Mas looked at him as if he was insane. "Taira-sama is Master Akira's adopted sister. She's indeed powerful. A power Spell mage," Mas boasted, making Gajeel raise a brow. "Spell magic? What difference is that?" Gajeel scoffed, completely ticked off about the type of magic this "Taira-sama" was specializing.

Mas chuckled creepily as the marbles began to circle around Gajeel slowly where they slowly increased in numbers. The marbles were then slowly spinning around him in a shape of a sphere, Gajeel trapped in it without any chances of escape. "What difference? She can chant a few words and poof, her summon is there. Spell magic is completely strange to me – I mean… Saying a few words where they come to life. 'Oh the winds which slice through everything…' I can't remember… But her magic is indeed powerful, and the thing is, to seek for her help, two deaths must be made," Mas explained before closing his eyes to focus.

With Gajeel inside, he tried to find his way out. "Iron Dragon's Roar!" he bellowed where nothing was blown or destroyed. He looked around and desperately looked for way out, but couldn't find any, other than having to wait until this attack was over. As he transformed his right arm into an iron drill, he forced his way into breaking a hole, but of course, there was no dent being made, making him slip off in ease.

"Damn it. What a –"

He then noticed the orbs slowly levitating where his face immediately turned green. Quickly covering his mouth, his body began to grow weak as he slumped onto the curved surface. "Shit. Not good," he cussed before looking to the wall in front of him which was slowly glowing bright green. "What the fuck are you planning to do with me inside of this thing?" Gajeel asked with his sharp tongue.

He heard Mas chuckling outside weakly, making him raise a questioning brow. "We all have a story behind us… Only Master Akira and Sakura-sama will understand…" Mas said out of the blue, not actually answering Gajeel's question which made him ticked off. "What's with all of this 'Sakura-sama' this, 'Sakura-sama' that – Look I don't give two shits about her okay? I'm only here to fight, not doing all of that clich-"

BOOM!

The marbles containing Gajeel inside all exploded with him inside, creating a huge explosion which made the floor below them shatter and crumble where they both fell down a floor. Weakly, Gajeel groaned as he sat up, looking down to his lap as rubbles of concrete rolled down onto the floor. "Shit. That one was a good one…" he mumbled, scratching his long hair before looking around to find Mas's leg sticking out under a large slab of cement.

"Oi. If you use that amount of magic, I bet this'll be a good fi-" He raised a brow when he saw a puddle of blood slowly increasing. "Ha?" he questioned, hauling himself up to pathetically stand. Walking towards Mas's leg, he stopped in front of crimson puddle where a broken snow ornament was shattered with its cracks soaking up the blood. "He couldn't have really…"

Closeby, footsteps were heard coming from the distance. "After every single second deaths made within a day, why must I come to get rid of the pests for Aki-kun?" a faint voice asked. Gajeel weakly turned around to find a 17-year old girl walking towards him. "Poor little, pitiful soul… Let the winds slice up the dead corpse and send him to the darkness of all evil. Let him grow, and let him reborn as evil dark mage," the teen chanted where sharp slices of wind came rushing passed Gajeel, making him turn around quickly.

His eyes widened as he witness the sharp blades of wind slicing up the corpse, along with the huge slab of concrete. Watching the slices of wind slice the flesh into tiny of millions of pieces, he watched the wind carry it away with no hesitant movements.
Turning around again, he flinched as he watched the girl creepily tilt her head to the left where a collar made out of steel was seen appearing around her neck. "Now… What chant shall I use to dispose of you?" she asked.

He grinned and pointed at the unknown girl who was covered with dirty, ragged clothes. "Are you this Taira that the freak was talking about?" he asked directly, keenly watching the girl tilt her head to the other side. "Me? Oh… Yes – My name is indeed Taira. Taira the Death Book," she answered with a faint smile.

Ohmygoooosh! It's been more than a week since I've last seen you all. No Q&A this time since I'm kind of busy with my Maths homework. Maybe next time, I'll share with you all my quirky, retarded anime lyrics made up on the very spot. (I've been making up stupid lyrics with my friends through skype - Very stupid, but hey! It's fun and my friend seems to be enjoying it) but I hope you like this chapter!

Anyways, no Q&A this time AND I do understand that there are many OCs being used in this fanfiction, but hey, they suit the fanfic right? Anyways, for the people who are wondering who this Rena-chan and Taira-sama that Rei and Mas keep on mentioning - Prepare for some plot twists and such? (I dunno if I should be calling them plot twists when they're only being introduced, but oh wells). Just to let you know, Rena is a minor, filling character. She'll only appear once and vanish in the end. Taira is a filler as well since we need some... Thrilling twists in Fairy Tail's battle against the bad guys.

Can't give you the next preview - This AN is running too long. See you soon!
