So holy shit the season finale, actually the last few episodes were fuckin crazy as a whole. I am going to change a few things but you all know how much I like to cling to the canon. Also I wanna thank my boy Mojo1586 for allowing my continued use of his OC Joel Ambrose and the organization The Red Hand, if you haven't already go check out his stuff, you won't be disappointed. Enjoy.
"Where the hell is he!?" Adam demanded grabbing a nearby recruit by the collar and lifting him into the air.
The grunt was clearly terrified by his commander and was struggling to answer. "We don't know sir! He just vanished from his hospital room and nobody can find a trace of him." Adam tossed the poor man to the side and pulled out his scroll calling Cinder immediately.
"Hello?"
"Where is he?!" Adam shouted into the phone.
He could hear a small chuckle through the scroll. "Care to be more specific?"
"DON'T FUCK WITH ME BITCH!" He screamed into the scroll. "WHERE IS FIDELIS?!"
There was a brief moment of silence before she replied. "The dingo is missing? When did this happen?" All humor was gone from her voice. Adam could hear muffled voice in the background of the call, he started to lose his patience as he waited for someone to talk to him. "How badly was he injured when he disappeared?"
"Fidelis has always been a quick healer, I'd say about two days before he'd back to a hundred. Why are you asking?" Adam growled already knowing her answer.
"We have to assume that the dingo has betrayed us."
"NO! Fidelis doesn't betray his friends, he's loyal to more than just money or power. Somebody must have gotten to him, find his teammates, find his brother, find Neo and find my best friend." Adam ended the call and chucked the scroll against the wall destroying it.
Elsewhere
Kain was walking down the street towards his apartment completely exhausted after the days events, it had been about eight hours since the match with team GRIN ended and he woke up on a stretcher being carried out of the arena. His body was bruised beaten, the medic said he had two broken toes, but despite all of that he felt great. He managed to contribute to a match so far out of his league that it wasn't funny and still came out in better shape than any of the other combatants.
Ruby had barged into the medical tent ignoring the medics telling her not to out of worry for him, and he reassured her with a kiss before getting the green light to leave the medical tent and continue watching the other matches with her. His day was filled with glory and thoughts of his gorgeous girlfriend.
Kain thought nothing could possibly get him down, until something did. "Hey kid." He heard someone call to him and turned to see who it was.
Kain instantly got a bad feeling in his gut as he looked at the one who called him. It was a tall boy clearly a few years older than him who was wearing a pair of grey jeans and a blue hoodie, with white lightning running across the hood and arm, with the hood up concealing his face. Across his body Kain could see several pieces of armor. The thing that tipped Kain of that this guy was bad news was the fact that he was armed almost literally to the teeth with weapons, on his back was some kind of tube or baton and on his shoulder was a sick looking knife. On his hips were a pair of dispensers with something he couldn't make out in them. The way he stood made it clear that he knew exactly how to use the weapons to.
"Can I help you?" Kain asked while subtly moving his hand towards his weapons.
"Don't even try it kid, you won't last long." His voice was calm and steady. "I'm not here to hurt you, tell me what you know about Fidelis." He stated bluntly and getting straight to the point.
Kain narrowed his gaze. "Whose asking, and how do you know I know him."
The man lifted his hands and pulled back his hood revealing stark white hair and a scar on the left of his forehead. "His face isn't the type you forget, and seeing as it was plastered all over the net from your fight I doubt anyone who has a grudge against the White Mask and knows what he looks like under it isn't either on their way to Vale or already searching the city. The very fact that you were seen with him is more than enough reason for you to be targeted by some of his enemies, not to mention my former colleagues."
"Former colleagues?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Trappers of the Red Hand."
Kain felt his heart drop and his face grew pale as his bad feeling about the man in front of him turned into full blown fear. Like most faunus Kain saw the Trappers as boogie men and if you run into one your as good as dead. "What do you want?" He asked doing his best to keep himself from shaking.
"Well first I'd like it if you would come with me, if I was able to find you then so can someone else. If what I heard from my informant was correct and Fidelis killed a Trapper not to long ago then I wouldn't be surprised if that Trappers partner has already put two and two together and figured out who he is. He isn't the kind to ask as nicely as I am right now, he prefers messier methods. Come on, my team is waiting back at Beacon, we're visiting from Shade academy." He gestured for Kain to follow him but noticed the boy not moving. "Unless of course you want to run the chance of going to you home and finding Plaga 'The Black Death'." Again Kain felt his heart drop.
"Fine I'll go with you, but we'll talk in my girlfriends dorm room. And I want to know your name." Kain said after several deep breaths.
"Very well, but lets hurry, and my name is Joel Ambrose." The two quickly made their way to the shipyards and caught a ride back to Beacon. Joel insisted that they move quickly, it only took around half an hour to get to the school.
Joel and Kain walked through the dorms of Beacon while dodging security, it wasn't difficult for either but they had several close calls. Once they got to the door Kain knocked several times and waited, after a few minutes the door cracked open to reveal a sleepy looking Ruby. "Kain? It's almost midnight, what are you doing here?"
Kain looked at Joel before answering. "I'm in a bit of trouble, can I please come in." Ruby looked a bit confused before opening the door and letting the two slip in. Kain turned on the light and the other three girls in the room all either woke up or stopped what they were doing and looked to see what was going on.
"Ruby, I don't mind if you have a boyfriend but I draw the line at late night visits." Yang groaned rubbing her eyes before looking at Joel who had his hood back on. "And I definitely don't approve of you bringing in third parties."
"Whats going on Kain, who is this?" Ruby asked looking at Joel.
Kain let out a tired sigh before falling to his butt and leaning his back against the wall. "It's about Fidelis." He said putting his face into his hands, the mention of the dingo faunus got the attention of everyone in the room.
"What did he do?" Blake asked sounding angry.
Before he could answer Joel stepped forward towards Blake and leaned in closer to her causing her to lean away from him. "Blake Belladonna, never thought I'd run into Adam Taurus's girl here." He said causing Blakes eyes to widen as Joel went back to leaning on the wall.
"How do you know that?!" She demanded.
"He's a Trapper." Kain answered sending the entire room into a dead silence as everybody stared at Joel with different expressions. Yang's face was filled with anger, Weiss looked both surprised and uncomfortable, Ruby looked confused, and Blake looked terrified.
"Former Trapper, I've cut ties with the Hand." He then looked to Weiss. "Also a pleasure to see you again Ms. Schnee."
Weiss narrowed her eyes. "Have we met?"
Joel chuckled a little. "Yes, your father use to do a lot of business with the Hand and I was assigned to be your body guard for several months a couple years ago. I'm not surprised that you don't remember me without my old helmet."
"Whats a Trapper?" Ruby asked getting everyones attention.
"How do you not know about Trappers?" Weiss asked causing her to turn red slightly.
"Trappers are the elites members of the anti-faunus group known as the Red Hand. They are highly skilled commandos who are as ruthless as they are efficient. In other words their hunters, but instead of grimm they hunt faunus." Blake explained not feeling comfortable.
Ruby now understood why both Blake and Joel were so clearly scared of this person, she herself was even a little intimidated.
"Thats a rather over simplistic way of putting it, I would have just said that they are the human equivalent of the White Fang elites. Regardless I put that in the past the same way I'm sure you did." He looked at Blake. "But I didn't come here to talk about myself, I came here to get the answer to my question. Where is Fidelis 'The White Mask'?"
With Clef
Clef sat in the Beacon cafeteria With his feet up on the table as he held his scroll in front of him. "My love, I truly wish you could be here with me now." He told Winter through the video call. "But alas I feel it would be safest if you stay away from Vale for the time being, my heart tells me that bad things are coming."
"We then please be careful dear, I won't forgive you if you get hurt." Winter replied through the call.
Clef gave her one of his smiles. "My love, I swear to you I will never leave you again."
Winter blushed and smiled. "Oh and dear, one more thing. Could you keep an eye on Weiss and make sure she's alright?"
Clef laughed. "Of course! I will protect my future sister from the devil himself if needed, you have nothing to worry about." He said confidently.
"Thank Clef, I'm sorry but I have to go for now, I'll call you in the morning."
"I shall dream about your voice until then." After another smile from the specialist the call ended. Clef put the scroll back into his pocket and started tuning his guitar before looking over to Jin who was playing a game of Solitaire.
"Hey Clef, where's Captain Fidelis?" He asked using the title Fidelis made him use, the White Fang doesn't actually have the rank of Captain but Fidelis still made Jin call him it.
"Not a clue boss."
With Rideat
"Are you sure we won't be bothering you teammates?" Velvet asked as she walked down the hallway of the dorms with Rideat leaning on her shoulder, he was still recovering from the fight with Fidelis and needed a little help with getting around.
When the two got to the door of his dorm room he gently pushed Velvet up against the door and leaned in and kissed her neck. "Nick is still in the infirmary and Iris is staying there overnight with him. And Gabe is out gambling again, we've got the whole room to ourselves." He whispered into her ear causing her to smile and blush at the same time as he opened the door.
The two entered the room, Velvet noted happily that it was indeed empty though she didn't doubt Rideat's semblance. The two moved towards Rideat's bed never parting their lips as they moved, as they fell on to his bed they continued making out as Rideat slowly began removing the jacket portion of Velvet's uniform. Once he got it off his normal hand made its way up to her furry ears on top of her head. He always had a habit of playing with them whenever they were alone like this.
The two were completely focused on the other not paying attention to anyone accept the one they loved in their arms, this is why it was so unexpected for Rideat when the room that was completely empty aside from the two lovers suddenly had a third aura signature appear in it. Rideat grabbed Velvet who had been straddling him and flipped her off of him while putting her behind him and he raised his arm pointing it at the unfamiliar person in the room with them.
"Who are you!" He shouted at the person who he could tell was sitting on Gabriel's bed with their legs crossed.
"What going on?" Velvet asked startled over what was happening until she saw the third person in the room.
Rideat didn't lower his arm as he got no answer, then he noticed something. "Your scent, I know it." He sniffed the air a couple times. "Yeah, your scent has been all over my brother lately. You smell like ice cream, what do you want?"
Neo wasn't smiling at the moment like she usually was, she wasn't very happy. She pulled out her scroll and typed one sentence to answer Rideat's question, she showed the scroll to Velvet so she read it to Rideat.
Velvet looked at it for a second. "It says 'Where is my boyfriend'."
Oh I can tell you all hate me right now for keeping you in the dark, but I'm imagining the suspense of the fact that Fidelis could literally pop up ANYWHERE. Don't worry my children I promise you all that what I have planned will be unforgettable. Also Happy Birthday Fidelis! Today is the one year anniversary of my posting the first chapter of this story. Tell me what you all think in the reviews. LATER.
