Mutation. It is the key to our evolution. It has enabled us to evolve from a single celled organisms into the dominant species on the planet. This process is slow, generally taking thousands and thousands of years. But every few millennia, evolution leaps forward.
It is not the strongest of the of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change. Charles Darwin said that a few centuries ago.
Mutation is an adaptation to change, and therefore we must not fear change, we must not fear what is coming. Take the unknown and seek it, search for answers, investigate the why and how. Do not suppress curiosity because this too is a mechanism for adaptation and eventual evolution.
Embracing who we are and what we can do can make all the difference in the world. Comprehension instead of hate. Compassion instead of pity. Education instead of fear.
Let this "Cure" that was a commercial failure be a teaching for history. Because the not too distant past will form out not too distant future.
Xavier finished his speech, with an inspired silence taking over the room. Many of his students were listening, he knew that much, and a part of him hoped that Eric was out there listening too. The President that had handed the podium to him was the first to start clapping. He subtly nodded towards them, and for a second time looked straight at the camera, letting his concentration lose and opening the gates as he tried to reach as many people as possible. My fellow mutants, you are not alone.
Thank You to all the readers that got this far. I am so happy that today i found an ending. I am so sorry it took me so long. Sometimes life gets in the way of writing, sometimes writing gets in the way of life.
