The sound of the wind resembled the cry of desperate people ... sometimes grew stronger, sometimes scarce but the sound was still there, present, like a shadow of destruction hanging in the air waiting for victims. The smell of burning human flesh filled his nostrils.

Rivaille covered his own nose with a white cloth and then looked at his bandages blackened with blood that still flowed from his body.

Ploc, ploc, ploc... mainy raindrops beat against the window. His slender hands lightly touching each scar from battles he had accumulated in many years, slowly pausing on his chest. How Eren could accept someone so ugly?

His breath became an anguished groan, his body ached, he still felt the hot burn within him like a continual flame.
A symbol so beautiful and yet so cruel was studded on his skin for his entire life. The symbol of a slave, a simple servant who needs to fulfill the will of his new master to stay alive.

"Satisfied with your body?" Irvin's voice echoed in the room the light from the open illuminating his silhouette with the light of a fireplace in the distance.
With firm and determined steps he quickly approached his guest.

Rivaille watched the stuffed animals on the wall, listening to the voice of this man was as if they had created life, those affected by the light of the flames had half of their faces revealed, in contrast to the total darkness outside.

-

"What do you want more you already had" The noble snapped, staring fixedly at the highest host who blocked the entrance and stared at him with a smile.

"You do not feel pain?"

"You're just to say that? Tch ..."

Irvin gave a cold laugh but Rivaille did not smile back.

"We're alone now. I am surprised that a proud person as you are able to do anything for a boy. I would be even less surprised if your knee had overturned on the ground before me now as a way of thanks."

"If the fact kneeling before someone like you changed anything I would ... the problem is that I'm suspicious that our meeting was planned for a long time."

"I was worried when you rode alone. Why is he so important to you?"

"Go to the point."

"We do not talk for so long, when I see you under these circumstances, including being subject to fulfill my whims..." His eyes lit by pointing to the bandage. "It makes me want to..."

"I'm not afraid of you and I don't want to get involved in your dirty business."

"Neither of you should have". Irvin closed his eyes and shook his free hand in negation sign, "I don't plan to do anything with you unless you behave... I don't gain anything by saying that you rescued a survivor of the city destroyed by a whim..."

"And because of a whim you wanted to kill me too?"

"We are old friends, we don't need to discuss that sort of thing."

"I'm not your friend and I have many things to tell you yet." Rivaille's hand brushed against a sharp knife in his pocket. The blade made his finger bleed, causing a small shiver to go down his spine. His brain immediately warned of pain but his body did not move.

"Eren felt more pain than that." His voice was full of poison. "If you do something bad to him I'll make sure that I will not be so generous."

Both were silent for a few seconds, Irvin hissed in pain as he felt a thin blade pierce his skin.

A servant walked away from a wall corner and quickly approached the two, holding a long sword waiting for his master's orders.

Before Irvin could take any action they both heard the sound of running footsteps coming in their direction.
The door opened with a slight creak like a rusty gear had just come to life.
For a moment the light hanging from the chandelier disappeared but soon resurfaced with a new flame even stronger than the first.

Hanji stood for a few seconds analyzing the situation. Her eyes grew larger equal when deer when sees danger before their predators.

"Rivaille, he may be innocent, put that down, please."

"Don't give me orders." His hand did not hesitate even for a second. "Don't tell me you also planned all this too?"

"Don't talk nonsense." She approached slowly, as if stepping on broken glass. Her smile was tense and several drops of sweat sprang from her forehead, blending their wheezing.

"I found evidence. You are the most interested, why not sit down and listen to me for a few seconds?"

Irvin and Hanji exchanged glances but Rivaille was too nervous to see what happened at that time.

"I discovered the cause... Eren was poisoned and not turned into one of those creatures that are out there."

"How do you know?" Irvin raised an eyebrow "This blood is dry."

"Let me see." The noble quickly lost interest in Irvin and released him to hold the blade in his pale hands.

"Yes, this blood is dry." Hanji touched lightly on the surface and then handed it to Rivaille that analyzed with a morbid curiosity through fire.

"I took a blood sample from Eren while I cleaned his wound." Hanji spoke again with her strained voice while Irvin walked away slowly from his guest, he never would expect to be caught off guard in a situation like this. The servant held a handkerchief over the wound and tried to stop the bleeding gently.

Hanji withdrew from the pocket inside of her robes a fine needle coated in a slightly dirty cloth and concluded her thought without being disturbed by the two men who were far away now from each other.

"This needle is made from silver and turned black. This is the most real proof that he was poisoned."

"This is the dagger that pierced him?" Rivaille asked directly to it after a few minutes of silence where only the sound of rain and the loud sound of breaths taken over the place.
His eyes were sharp, as if he were invoking a wild animal ready to strike at any time.

"Explain yourself, Irvin." His eyes fell directly on it. The man gave a hoarse smile and then again had the composure before the intrusion.

"I do not reveal the identity of my ... customers ... as I revealed to the king that you had taken a pet from Shiganshina."

"Eren Is not ..." The noble was interrupted by Hanji who put her hand on his mouth so he would stop talking momentarily.

"Let's say one of my clients is very fond of a person and wanted to win his heart anyway..." Irvin drummed his fingers on the table as he kept his calm expression. "So there is a problem because that person is already obsessed with another that was not destined to live. My client, blinded by love, paid a large sum for a small bottle of hallucinogen that has a great power capable of killing a man. That's all I know. I was not aware of what happened in the square on the day of your wedding or whatever you ended up doing."

"Did you know that you can be sentenced to death for doing this kind of trafficking?"

"Oh no ... this is not as profitable." Irvin smiled analyzing the needle on the light of chandelier. "Slaves market is more... Too bad that I don't have slaves with jade eyes to sell, they are rare and valuable as well... unless you want to make an offer for me..."

"Petra." Hanji cut their conversation immediately stared at her in amazement. "She is the only person who could get to the end by liking someone like you, Rivaille."

"I will not forgive her."

"I'm not telling you forgive her."

"I need you to remember one thing." Irvin coughed and pointed to his own heart. "Your slave is out of danger and I need you to do some work for me as compensation. Regardless of Petra having something to do with me or not."

"I already said that I do not belong to you."

"This Scar in your chest says otherwise."

"So I may have to make one for you." Quickly Rivaille pressed the knife against Irvin's neck, piercing that same point where the skin is opened, pouring even more blood.

"The King requests a hearing." The blond tensed, his hands gripped the table until the tips of his fingers turned white. "He wants to know why you have not been reported to him... instead you bring me a slave from there."

BANG!

Within seconds Irvin stumbled on the table. Hot blood trickled slowly from his nose to his mouth. He came to taste the metallic flavor with its own tongue.
With eyes full of hatred the nobleman approached the rival in front of him and punched his face again, causing more crimson liquid drop through his hands.
A sequence of punches was given in his face, in absolute silence a beast rose again full of hatred.

Suddenly everything went blank. The last thing he heard was the voice of Hanji the background calling out his name in vain until his body fell to the ground apart hear or feel anything.

-

The silence reigned again over the room. Thunder cleared the place for a few seconds until it darkens again. His head ached as if he's taken a swipe.
Rivaille slowly opened his eyes as the murky images around him came to life.
The room was simple but at the same time gave the feeling of cleanliness and luxury. The desk had an open book with winged gargoyles graphics, as if someone was sitting there to watch his sleep.

As evidence of the unexpected visit a candle still burning in a silver candlestick, slowly pouring it's wax like tears on the face of the dying to surrender to death his last breath.

On rising he moaned in pain, causing the movement with the blanket covering the body at his side slipped a little to the floor, revealing Eren sleeping peacefully beside him. His hair spread on a pillow, was sleeping comfortably, as if nothing happened this misfortune on his life.

A small smile grew on his face, causing that same smile infect the noble beside him. He did not know if it was real or some kind of dream, who carried his body back and why ... all he wanted to know was more feel the warm body of his lover in his arms, share his smile, share their joy and their sorrow.

It did not matter if he had to give all his wealth in exchange for the happiness of this young man at his side, he instantly realized that his absence left his empty heart to the point of pain.

With its slender fingers he lightly touched his soft lips, his cheek, his round face. Suddenly, as if by a spell Eren awakened. Its green orbs reflected the purest and most beautiful color, like a bright and polished emerald.

Rivaille took a candlestick and placed it beside the bed to illuminate said angel away from the darkness. Only he had to walk through the shadows, Eren was not guilty of anything, Eren never have to pay for anything he passed ... then why did he have to suffer so much?

His thoughts were interrupted by a soft hand on his face, stroking it gently. The nobleman's body felt a great spasm, like a shock wave was going through it now. With a quick flick their hands entwined. Eren released him and immediately drew the burn pattern on his chest, biting his lips as if he himself felt the pain.

Rivaille felt as if his body was being sucked into an endless maze, a bottomless pit. He was attracted by the mysterious smile and those jade eyes that glowed in the dark.

His breathing became breathless and his body burned inside as a pervasive and unrelenting pain. A pain that exceeded a thousand times the pain he felt when his skin was spun and burned.
His fingers tangled in the brown hair handful of slipped over his hand like silk.
His long nails scratched a sensitive part of the neck of his lover, leaving a trail of remarkable claws on its defined collarbone.

Eren did not back down, he hugged tightly the man who was on him, forcing him to get closer and seek physical contact coveted to time.

"I don't want you to suffer." Rivaille touched his lips slightly and stared at him with concern, noting the fleshy mouth that opened like a flower in a mocking smile.

"Why do you care so much about me?"

Both dropped their hands and Eren tilted his head a little more forward, the point of their faces touched. The boy did something unexpected that almost made the noble lose his seed right there on top of the covers.

Slowly he licked his lip a painful way that made him moan and then gave him a light bite on the lobe of his ear. His head fell back on the pillows and he started laughing, his hair spread and reflected by scented candles.

"Don't tease me." Rivaille's voice was hoarse with lust. "You have no idea how much I'm holding back."

The smile returned to the young man's lips. He closed his eyes and sighed slightly.

"It still hurts?" Their fingers brushed lightly where was stamped a mark that would be stuck in his life forever. "You should not have done all this for me ... until an ignorant person like me knows how they made the contract of slaves... like you did with me on my chest." The letter 'I' tattooed on a gothic shape is deformed by two regular parallel scars in the man's chest.

Eren's voice was getting lower as he spoke, the slave word was whispered close to his ear that made him shiver again, again this quake was not in pain.

"You know I can still grant you all your desires." Rivaille lay down next to the boy and stared at him while he licked his fingers, tasting the salty taste of tears that streamed down his beautiful face slowly, giving him small light kisses as the landing of butterflies.
He thought to himself as his lover sigh. If it was not love he did not know what else it could be.

He did not know that love could hurt so much, making people to take rash actions without thinking about what could happen to them in the future.

The quilt was soft, the heat of the two bodies together enjoying hours of sleep alone made the time to stop. Oh how he wanted this moment to never stop. That moment when Eren snuggled in his arms, the moment the first time can be in the arms of another, consoling and comforting in pain.

"Anything he asks you have to do." Eren made a pained expression on getting up a little bed but maintained the look of his lover. "Even a kiss?" Theirs fingers laced tightly and both fell into a deep sleep despite the pain.

The ringing of bells marked the departure of a retinue with fifty soldiers, a troupe of musicians, dancers and two carriages. The servants opened the gates with force. Soldiers with their polished armor were in front, hoisting a green flag with a winged form. Their cries were like the voice of thunder, rumbling with drums in synchronization with the heartbeat.

Rivaille lingered to climb the carriage, staring at eren alongside Hanji confidant who smiled as if all was well.
Eren was bundled with a black overcoat that fell nicely on his body, making his emerald eyes become even more vivid.

Eren held his gaze long enough to blush. Rivaille smiled to himself, knowing only that his face showed a smile when Irvin faced him with an expression of surprise. Eren quickly looked away and with the help of Hanji entering the carriage.

The young came with a sigh, removing all the air from the lungs that seemed to have accumulated there. His body was weak and his eyelids closed again and again. Scatter cushions give enough comfort for him to lie back and close his eyes. Both windows were covered by a thick curtain.

Slowly the carriage began to move, synchronized with the sound of musicians and smiles of the dancers.
What Eren realized that all this was forced joy you could not disguise the stench of burnt corpse and mourning emanating from the environment.

With a jolt the horses whinnied and took a different route. Eren sighed again and was surprised by Hanji's hand in his hair, pulling back the bangs that fell over his eyes.

"We're going back to the castle."

He opened his mouth but was silenced by a finger in his face.

"We will be safer there. Do not be like that ... Rivaille will come back. He just need to check some things with the king..."

"I'm not worried about anyone."

His genuine smile echoed in his own ears and eren realized it was more warm and cozy than any sound of music and movements that turpe of acrobats left behind.
