The day had arrived, we had to leave to go on a mission, we didn't know what it involved or when we would be back. It was like déjà vu, why did we agree to this again? We had to meet all the others at the ministry so we said our goodbyes to everyone at the burrow.
Ginny was particularly tearful, she hadn't let go of Harry all morning. Molly was worse though, crying about how her babies were leaving again but we all kept reassuring her we would be home soon. We all received bone crushing hugs and left.
"Finally, can we go now?!" Leighton said angrily. I tightened my grip on Ron's hand, I didn't want a fight to start on the first day.
"Where to first?" Dan asked.
"Somewhere near Aviemore in Scotland I believe." Matt said simply. "Let's go then."
We all placed our hands on the portkey that would take us to our first destination. We landed on a cross roads. There was no one around, all we could see were thick rows of trees.
"Let's go the opposite direction of the town." I suggested. We headed further into the woods, there wasn't much else except trees in our path but we carried on. Harry was leading us with Ron behind then me behind him. Suddenly I felt my foot get caught on a tree root and fell forward squealing only to be caught from behind by a large arm that wrapped around my waist.
"You ok?" A husky voice said in my ear, it must be Leighton Ron had now turned around and looked at us with disgust plastered on his face.
"I'm fine." I said trying to step away from him but he followed.
"Sure?" He said again.
"She said she's fine now get your hands off her." Ron said coming to pull my hand and pushing me in front of where he was walking so I was between him and Harry.
"Don't get so jealous Weasley, I just saved your beautiful girlfriend there from a fall, you should be thanking me. This might be fun though."
"You know what else is fun, punching you in the face." Ron snarled, I came up close to him now and placed my hand on his chest, pushing him backwards slightly.
"Ron stop, let's just go."
"Listen to your girlfriend Weasley, she's got you wrapped around her little finger." What was this guy doing, did he really want Ron to kick the shit out of him. Ron tried to step forward towards Leighton again but I pushed back. He looked down at me, still angry. I looked up at him with the most innocent face I could manage, I notice his eyes soften, something no one else would know, he was still trying to seem angry.
He grabbed my hand and pushed my slightly forward so I was leading him by the hand.
"Let's got Harry." Ron said. We continued to walk like this for a few hours until it got dark and we decided we needed to find somewhere to camp, we came across a clearing a few minutes later.
"Okay let's set up camp then." John said. "Will and I can do the enchantments."
"I will go get some fire wood." Dan added.
"Okay, that leaves us to set up the tents." Harry smiled. It was an easy process setting the tents up with magic so we got to it.
"Mione come help me with this one." Ron said pulling the tent out his bag, as he pulled it out it all got tangled on him. Just as this happened a gust of wind hit so some of the tent material flew over Ron's head. I couldn't help but laugh, it was so easy to get the tent out but only Ron could make it such a problem.
"Are you laughing at me?!" He exclaimed, I knew he was joking but continued to laugh as he struggled to find his way out of the material. "Oi, you could help instead of laughing here, your poor boyfriend is stuck." He laughed slightly.
"Oh you poor baby." I laughed walking towards him.
"I will show you a poor baby." He ran at me and grabbed me whilst throwing some material over my head. I could now see Ron's face. He laughed wrestled me to the floor so we were both trapped in the material.
"Not laughing so much now are you?" He smirked.
"No, now we are both trapped." I laughed again.
"Oh poor baby." He pouted but then leant in to plant a soft kiss on my lips. He opened his mouth slightly to take my bottom lip between his own and sucked on it slightly. Before it could go any further we got interrupted.
"What happened to you guys?" Harry exclaimed.
"In case you haven't noticed everyone else has done their jobs and we are waiting for you two so stop acting like children for fucks sake." Leighton said angrily.
Ron was still smirking at me and kissed me again before we decided to move.
"Errr, we may need a bit of help." Ron laughed slightly. We heard someone huff slightly and assumed it was Leighton, I giggled at him. "I would tell you to stop because he will get angrier but you look so gorgeous right now and I love that sound."
"You need to stop or I may just keep kissing you all night and all your friends will hate you." I smiled. Suddenly the tent was yanked away by Leighton and Harry helped both Ron and I up. We got to putting the tent up and put all our stuff away.
"Maybe we should turn in." Will suggested.
"Who's going on watch?" Harry asked, everyone looked around, I looked at Ron and tilted my head to the side in question, he nodded slightly.
"Ron and I will do it."
"Great thanks guys, you can wake me and Will up in four hours and we will take our go." Dan smiled at us before entering his tent along with the others.
"Can I take your sofa since you two won't need it for now?" John asked politely.
"Sure go for it mate." Ron smiled. Each tent had two single beds in two separate bedrooms and then a living room which contained a sofa. Ron then turned to me and held out his hand which I took before leading me to near the fire. He sat down and patted the spot in front of him which I sat down in and leant back on his chest.
"Just like old times hey?" Ron kissed the side of my head as he wrapped his arms around me.
"Yeah but there's less riding on us this time and we are actually together." I lifted one of Ron's hands and kissed the back of it. He sighed.
"It's definitely better this time." He whispered into my hair. I had to agree with him on that.
We sat mostly in comfortable silence as we watched the stars and the fire flicker. It was peaceful and definitely more relaxed than last time not just with the mission but with Ron. I could actually be with him this time instead of wishing for it every second. I didn't realise our shift was over but Ron nudged me and told me it had been four hours. We went to wake Dan and John up before taking over Dan's bed. We both squished into the small single bed.
I couldn't say I wasn't comfortable, I was half laid on Ron with my leg thrown over his and his arms wrapped around me. We were forced to stay close but I didn't mind, I needed him close whilst we were in any danger and I knew he felt the same as he made me sleep next to the tent wall instead of door so he would be first seen by anyone.
"Goodnight baby." He kissed me once softly.
"Night Ron." I settled into his embrace and fell asleep almost immediately.
