Also I'm tired.

Also this chapter is actually really badly written.

I don't own Kingdom Hearts.

Enjoy.

RokuShi Romance:

"Which way now?"

"Uh, left?"

"Are you sure Roxas?"

"Haha… not really."

Xion stopped and gave the blonde next an exasperated look, "so you got us lost," it wasn't even a question, she already knew the answer. Roxas smiled sheepishly, "uh, kind of?"

"Great, just great."

-Earlier that day-

Roxas hadn't wanted to go on holiday with his family to the Destiny Island resort, the blonde hated the beach and he knew that that was one of the main attractions of the place and that he'd most definitely be dragged down there to 'play'. Of course, he couldn't do anything about the trip itself, but he decided he wouldn't even leave the hotel room if he had anything to do about it.

Unfortunately, he didn't have anything to do about it, since his parents essentially dragged him to the beach forcefully. So he was now sitting on a towel under the shade, scowling at his twin as he played in the water with his second oldest brother. His parents had gone off for a walk together and Roxas knew they wouldn't be back for a while; he wished his oldest brother Vanitas was with them, because at least he'd have someone to share his foul mood with. Unfortunately Vanitas was now old enough to live on his own, he had moved out immediately saying that if he didn't, he'd have to deal with more 'family vacations'. He had given Roxas an apologetic look as he was saying goodbye, but that didn't make it any better. Roxas was still furious with him, the traitor; the guy was throwing him to the wolves; an apology wasn't going to protect him.

Eventually, he got to his feet and walked off away from where his brothers were playing, there was no need to dampen there amusement with his current grouchiness; part of him was tempted to, as revenge; but in all honesty, he didn't want to ruin their holiday for them.

So he went for a walk to go get some sea salt ice-cream and calm himself down.

And that's where he ran into her.

She had been ordering herself a frozen treat and as the blonde came up behind them he heard her requesting a sea salt ice-cream, the same as his favourite. It was odd for people to ask for that particular flavour- most people were put off by the name- so Roxas had felt compelled to say something about it, "sea salt ice-cream's my favourite," the raven turned, surprise writ on her features before seeing him standing there. Roxas liked tha fact that she didn't show any confusion at some random stranger's greeting, instead she gave him a smile, and told him, "It's mine too."

Roxas enjoyed talking to Xion, they had sat together eating their ice cream and then the girl had suggested exploring the island. He had agreed eagerly, going to let his brothers know where he was before turning back to her, "let's go then."

And that was why they were now lost.

"It can't be too hard to find where we started."

"Roxas, neither of us have any idea where we are."

"Yeah, but we weren't walking for that long."

The two looked at each other irritably before sighing, "it's pointless wondering around in the forest and getting ourselves even more lost, maybe we should sit down and wait until they find us," Xion hesitated before huffing and nodding.

Roxas leaned against a tree and slid down, wincing almost the second he did so as he felt the bark poke into his back; he looked up at Xion who was resolutely looking elsewhere. Compelled by the raven's stubborn silence, Roxas didn't attempt to make conversation, and they sat together for nearly fifteen minutes before Roxas snapped, "So, why did you come to Destiny Islands?"

Xion turned to him and frowned slightly before responding, "I came with my family, what about you?" Relieved at having something to talk about Roxas responded with a wide smile, "I came with my family too, I hadn't really wanted to come, but I didn't really… get a choice in the matter."

Xion raised her eyebrows, nodding her head slightly and mouthing a soft 'oh'.

They lapsed into silence again.

"You know, other than the whole… getting lost thing, exploring the island has been fun, so was talking to you."

"What?"

"Never mind."

"You're actually really nice, today's been pretty cool even this isn't that bad."

"What do you mean?"

"Nothing."

By the time the sun was going down, Xion had moved to sit next to Roxas instead, they were both leaning back against the tree and smiling together contentedly.

Roxas froze as he felt a hand hesitantly rest on his; he glanced at Xion out of the corner of her eye to see her determinedly looking elsewhere. With a small smile he turned his hand over and clasped their fingers together. Xion turned to him and at that moment Roxas was struck with how pretty she was. Her eyes were large and dark, her nose small and cute and her lips, for some reason, looked oddly appealing. He hadn't even realised his gaze had fixated on them until he was leaning forward. Xion leaned forward too.

"Why are you guys here?"

The two sprung apart, letting go of each other's hands and looking away from one another blushing profusely and attempting to look completely innocent. Roxas glared up at his older twin, Sora, opening his mouth to tell the brunette off for sneaking up on them, but the other boy got in first.

"You guys didn't really do a lot of exploring," he stated, a curious expression on his face. Roxas frowned, "what do you mean? We got lost, we could hardly keep ex-"

"You got lost? How?" Roxas frowned and was about to answer when Xion spoke up, "how did you find us?" Sora turned to her and grinned, "I wasn't looking for you," with those words he strode past the two of them and picked something up of the ground, turning to reveal a volleyball in his hands, "Ven threw the ball too hard and it rolled into here."

The two sat up at that, "the beach is near here?" they exclaimed and Sora raised an eyebrow, "uh, yeah," he replied, before turning to walk off into the forest again. The two teenagers glanced at each other before hurrying after him, coming out onto the beach a few moments later.

"We must have gone around in a circle or something," Roxas sighed in frustration, "this is really annoying. And stupid."

He felt fingers intertwine with his and he looked at Xion again in surprise, she merely smiled serenely at him, "oh well, it wasn't a complete waste now was it?" she asked him, cocking her head to one side. Roxas smiled at her, today had been a surprising one, that much was true, "No I guess it wasn't," he admitted. And he meant it completely. What was more, he was finding himself having to admit coming to the beach had been a good thing, if he hadn't, he mightn't have gotten annoyed, and if he hadn't have gotten annoyed he mightn't have gotten a sea salt ice-cream, and if he hadn't have gotten a sea salt ice-cream he mightn't have met Xion. He might not had got lost with her, or gotten a chance to talk to her, get to know her. Come to like her.

He was pretty sure he was actually glad he had gone to the beach today after all.

Yeah...

Next up is an actual request (I just wanted to upload this since I had written it first)
