Years were going by as it seemed. That's what it seemed like anyway to Doc, Stanley, Rod, Leland and Nick. Time carried on and so did they. The Piston Peak Inferno only seemed like it happened yesterday and now… it was just years ago now. They hadn't been together much since then… save today.

They all found themselves at Piston Peak once again. Just wanting to catch up again, taking a small break as it were. A moment of zen for all of them.

"Remember that kid I told you I was training a while back? That Tadashi kid?" Nick said, twirling his baton. "He got married to the girl he loved."

"That's awesome." Rod grinned. "Max is getting there in his a spy… Gonna be better then old Finn in no time-OW! LEland!"

Leland scoffed a little.

"Finn's not THAT old."

"Now, now you two." Doc chuckled, looking to Nick. "How did Tadashi manage the whole marriage thing without contract violations?"

"Disguise watch his brother made for him. He's basically assuming a new identity. As for the kids they adopted, they can naturally see the dead so no issues there. I'm just glad he didn't miss out."

"Isn't it gonna be awkward for him with his wife growing old and he'll stay young?" Rod asked.

"Eh, not exactly." Stanley butted in. "Ever notice something about my wife? Considering how old she is?"

"She looks old, but I wouldn't say she looks her age, considering she's over a 100 years old." Doc mused. "... Do we… have an affect on our loved ones concerning appearance and longevity?"

"Sort of. It's not the fountain youth persay, but with me and Lizzie she's close to me a lot so some of my energy rubs off on her. I sometimes blame myself for making her live this long, then she just gives me a smack upside the head and then hugs me saying she doesn't care."

"That's love… Your wife's a good woman who cares about you." Nick chuckled. "It's just how it is. Remembered energy flows wherever it needs to it seems…"

"... You know… It's weird." Rod commented, looking up at the sky. "We've been at this for years, some of longer than others yet we still don't understand ourselves completely. I mean just last month I turned into a freaking wolf out of nowhere and still can at will… It's like we'll never have all the answers about our powers."

"And years ago I finally figured out my machine form… After being a Remembered for thirty freaking years."

"I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I've just accepted the fact the surprises never end. Being a Remembered is being sentenced to understanding a never ending puzzle. The only person who knows all the answers is the Law of Remembrance. And this is coming from someone who has been at it for a VERY long time." Stanley shrugged. "It's just our fate."

"Well that sucks." Rod leaned back. "Then how are we supposed to be sure we do what we need to do?"

"Simple." Stanley smiled. "Instincts."

"And practice." Nick smirked. "You don't get as good as some veterans without it."

"Says Cop Boy."

"Says fluffy."

Doc shook his head.

"Here we go again… Has it really been nearly over 10 years since we all came together?"

"Sure has." Stanley looked down below from where they were. He eyed a certain bridge that was built over a canyon. "I remember that bridge was still being fixed, now it's as Maru would say, better than new."

"And the kids are growing up… My niece is getting married next month ay-yi-yi... " Nick shook his head. "Seems like yesterday she was just a tiny little thing.."

"She's in her twenties now yes?" Doc asked, raising an eyebrow. "Took her this long to get married?"

"She wanted to get her certification as a firefighter first thank you very much. She's following in her dad's footsteps quite literally. She loves him but oh if you ask she's planning to knock him off his pedastal."

"I'm sure he wouldn't mind. Last I checked he wanted to spend more time with his wife. Though I think she also has to deal with that other young firefighter… Jake was it?"

"Jake Skylar… Yeah he's a good one… Fits right back in with the rest of 'em… Alex utterly adores him."

"Good to hear."

"Yeah." Stanley hummed in thought. "Hm… Heh… Look at us, we're a bunch of old men now, yet don't look a day near 50."

Rod chuckled leaning back once more. "Yep… Just how it is… And I thought we had longevity as Mechanids… Our old bodies got nothing on this."

"Nothing whatsoever." Leland smiled. "Though… Let's all make a deal… If we learn something new about our respective powers, we tell each other so we can watch out for it."

"That sounds like a great idea old friend." Rod nodded.

"Agreed… And I have another thought." Doc grinned.

All looked to him curious.

"What?"

"We're all here just shooting the breeze…" He floated up. "How about we give some of the newbies I've seen floating around here a run for their money? Who wants to try to solve our own puzzle?"

They all looked to each other grinning before joining Doc in the air.

"Let's give them trouble."
