Hey this story is almost over. I know it's been a long time and tons of delays but I really do appreciate you guys being with me through this.
I made a lot of mistakes, and I've grown a lot as a writer. So after I post the last chapter, I'll probably go through and re-edit all of my chapters. Then maybe make a spin-off or a Born Rebels 2. I've been contemplating with Kyle and we might work together to do Born Rebels trilogy, because just so you guys know this book isn't exactly going to have a 'happily ever after' I'll promise you that now.
Please read my other story A is in Angel. It's also rated T. It needs severe editing which I am also going to do. It was my first story so bear with me.
Please check it out and review.

Chapter 31: Showtime
Ally's POV:
Austin's soothing hand wraps around mine. It's meant as a sign of comfort but it just makes the tears fall even faster.
He lets go of my hand and hugs me tightly. I'm suppose to be strong, we practice this speech at least ten times over the phone but now I can barely breath.
He puts space in between us and wipes my tears away with his lips and hands.
Once my face is dry he kisses each on of my fingertips and my forehead. I never thought too much of Austin's soft, emotional side but I think it's my favorite part of him.
Silently, his lips finally find mine and I feel oxygen being pumped through my lungs and to my frail heart.
"Are you ready?" He intertwines our hands, placing a long kiss to my wrist.
When we heard the announcement earlier everyone took their places, leaving Austin and I waiting backstage for our parents to speak. We had to move toward the stage wing to avoid the plethora of guards that started to come.
To the right of us, we can see our parents in their extravagant tuxedos and bogus 'friendly' smiles up for the crowd. And the audience is eating it up, it irks me how they could believe such fakeness like them.
Austin tightens his grip around me, and I lean into his touch. It's comforting and reassuring, Austin's being patient. He knows it's not time for me to whine, but he's still coddling me.
I unloosen myself from his arms. I'm not a child and I do not need to be pampered. I need to be pushed... as hard and promptly as possible.
"Are you okay?" Austin whispers, taking my face in his hand. I want to break down right there and let go of all my worries in his arms, but I can't. I need to be stronger.
I take a step back, "I know you're trying to comfort me, I really do want to be coddle right now. But we need to go on stage strong." I breath out, stuttering over my words.
Austin tries to reach for me looking concerned. He seems so thoughtful and gallant, but I can see the fiery rage that forever burns inside of him.
That's what I want.
I take a breath, "Trust me I love the soft and compassionate Austin, but right now he's not needed. Now I need my badass boyfriend, my smirking devil, my absolutely savage born rebel."
3rd Person POV:
"Good Evening, my imperial guests tonight!" Coen Anders, the host for The Man of the Year Award Banquet, announces into the mic on stage. Coen brushes back his blond hair and flashes a killer grin to the cheering crowd.
'Damn sure are a lot of people' Coen thinks to himself. (Coen is pronounced Co-een. I love that name for some reason) -BD
Coen doesn't really like half of the people here, but as long as they're happy and smiling, he gets paid.
"INTRODUCE THE PARTICIPANTS!" A voice instructs him in his earpiece.
Coen turns to the four standing on stage. He gestures for the first couple to come forward to the red/white/blue podium.
"Ladies and gentlemen can I get a round of applause for Mr. and Mrs. Moon!" Coen beams, shaking Mr. Moon's hand, and kissing his wife's. The crowd claps.
"Also give a hand to Mr. and Mrs. Dawson!" Coen flicks his hand back for the second couple to join him up front. He also greets them the same way.
"Now each candidate will have two and a half minutes to tell us why they should be Man of the Year," Coen waits for the crowd to clap. "Now we will first here from..."
Coen waits to hear his manager tell which one goes first, but his earpiece has static. 'That's funny, there was none a sec ago' Coen ponders.
Mr. Moon shifts impatiently on stage, let's get this over with. 'If my wife doesn't stop squeezing my hand like she's insane, I'm going to toss her off stage' Mr. Moon thinks grimly.
Coen makes a grin and laughs. "How about the game last night?" He stalls, getting laughter.
In place, on the upstairs balcony are Rocky and Alanna with a radar jamming device. Alanna peaks around the corner, "Is the signal jammed?" Rocky, her 'boyfriend', asks.
Alanna turns back from stalking the window to the control center, where she sees everyone panicking. "I believe so," She whispers.
Rocky nods, taking out the laser beam and flashing the signal across the room, over the balcony. 'Hopefully they see it' he thinks.
Rocky and Alanna lock gazes, some much raw emotion and unsaid words between them. Rocky's pleading eyes bore into her. Alanna turns around, back to watching the control room to avoid him.
Austin and Ally notice a light flicker by the curtain. They peak around to see it now flying across the room spelling 'GO'
Ally's POV:
Austin and I link hands... it's now or never. It's Showtime.
Austin and I causally make our entrance onto stage, while the show host is worriedly yelling into his earpiece. My Father is the first one I spot as we walk up to their sides.
I lock gazes with my father, his astonishment leaves me smirking and confident. At my grin, his face hardens and morphs to a cold glare. Catty is looking just as malevolent as always. She's not wearing a black gown to dress formal but actually it's to show the color of her soul.
I snap out of my thoughts as Austin tenses at my side. He must've saw his parents, I turn to him but he's already on the headset.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen we have a special treat for your guys tonight!" Austin exclaims to the audience, everyone applauds ecstatically.
Our parents hold a calm expression but I can see the anxiety creeping in on all of them.
"But before we start lets give a round of applause to the Moons' and Dawsons'!" I exclaim, beaming at everyone. Austin and I grab the headsets and used them to talk more efficiently than a mic.
We both go to the edge of the stage, to rep up the crowd. We need everyone's attention for this.
"The both of them deserve praise for the actions they took to make the community a better place." Austin announces, gesturing toward our parents.
"Community service, public affiliations, family affairs... They truly our admirable." The crowd feeds into all of Austin's words. "But the question is tonight is what all I'm saying the truth or a lie?"
Everyone grows silent.
Mr. Moon rushes forward to grab the mic, "Now thank you for the bringing authenticity into the subject manner, but if you don't mind... let's get back to the speech." Mr. Moon digresses. "That is what the people want to hear." The audience claps in response.
Austin hurries to redirect their focus, "Sorry how rude of us not to introduce ourselves." Austin reaches out his hand which I accept just like we planned.
"I am Allyson Maria Dawson, and this is Austin M. Moon." I introduce us to everyone. Gasps arouse from every corner of the room, so I just ever so nicely clear things up for them.
"Yes, thanks for asking, we are their children. It's nice to finally have the pleasure to introduce ourselves since our parents would never do that." I say cheerily, with a bit of sass.
Mrs. Moon tries to digress the topic again, "Shall we get onto those speeches?" No one applauds, no one cheers. Once you have a fish on the line don't let it go until it's yours. And this crowd just become our fish.
We have their attention.
We have a plan.
We are going to bring down the fucking walls.
"To start this discussion, let's talk about sex..." Austin proclaims, earning some gasps but quite a few laughs from the audience.
"Now, I'm just joking we are not going to talk about sex," Austin explains. Some people relax and others look disappointed.
Remember the dialogue Ally, just like we rehearsed. I think to myself.
"But we are going to talk about some of the things that can come out of sex..." I begin walking past Austin, who is walking to my end. I feel like we are a seminar, walking back and forth, addressing a crowd.
"Babies. Toddlers. Kids. Teens. Still People." Austin interrupts, pivoting around to glare at his father.
"My father," I move in front of my dad, smirking. "Believe it or not, has two daughters. I bet none or not enough of you guys knew that. Surprising huh?"
"Oh Ally please, I'm sure my father can top that. My father has five children, who are just as imaginative to some people as the Boogey Man." Austin confirms. People gasp and there is muttering among groups and couples.
My dad looks nervously to Catty, who looks like she wants to bail any moment. Mr. and Mrs. Moon however, are still holding a strong fortitude.
"Oh but Austin..." I call out slowly giving Austin the time he needs to interrupt me.
"Not to mention I have chronic anxiety attacks, one of their children is on steroids, one is depressed, one deals drugs, and one a nymphomaniac." Austin coos, scratching his head nonchalantly. People start talking and whispering and shouting hopefully terrible things. Hopefully really terrible things.
I quickly turn and race to Austin's side. "Wow, but I must say my stressed, dropout sister and I might beg to differ who is worse." Calling my sister a dropout breaks my heart a little, but I do not have time to cry. "My dad's fiancé/girlfriend or whatever he claims her as not only singlehandedly destroyed my house's décor, but my relationship with my father as well."
"That lady," I point my finger in Catty's face, "That bitch is the reason my father kicked my sister onto the streets. Literally." My voice gets higher, from my intensity with the words and my hatred for Catty.
My father and Catty step forward to the mic. "Please Allyson dear, don't take such harsh and incorrect accusations to your mother. You were only a preteen when I kicked her out, you wouldn't understand why then." My father covers up.
"My mother is gone, that is your toy and your her sugar daddy." I snap at my father, off script.
"We are in love. Something that you wouldn't understand, for you are too young." Catty clarifies, kissing my father on the cheek.
Someone grabs my hand, I turn to my left to see Austin raising our hands high. "Speaking of love, just an announcement we are dating..." He cackles. The audience goes crazy.
Moon and Dawson organizations are rivals, so there supporters are rivals too. The fact that Mr. Moon and Mr. Dawson's children are dating does not sit well with everyone.
"And... there has been talk about 'making it official' but we might just hold off till high school." Austin adds a little more oxygen to the raging fire. I quickly decide to drive them nuts and I kiss Austin in front of everyone.
I lean back from the kiss to see Austin grinning, "That was not part of the plan... but I'm glad it is now." He whispers happily in my ear.
I blush, oh how do I want to kiss that grin off his face and everywhere else. I blush even harder at the thought. I need to focus.
"As you know see things are not as they seem," Austin says.
"People who you may've thought you knew so well, turn out to hide secrets." I add on.
"Secrets that could not only ruin relationships, but let's just say ruin reputation as Man of the Year." Austin suggests, as our parents glare at us.
"So I'd like you to introduce you to another one of the Moon members. Please salute Rydel Moon!" I declare, right on cue Rydel walks up from in the audience, up the stairs and on stage. And boy does she look pissed.
Perfect.
