Color of Your Soul

Chapter 29: Zekrom

AN: Hey...everybody...I'm sorry. I know this is super late, but college started pretty early for me, so that consumed the little free time that I had. Not to mention with the increasing hype for ORAS and the demo, along with Smash Bros for 3DS, I found myself...favoring those over writing the chapter. Regardless of reasonable excuses, I managed to sway myself from those and wrote the chapter and managed to complete it today. I'm so sorry to those of you who were waiting for an update for two months and I'm grateful that you waited for me to finish the chapter. But enough talk, let's get to it with the black dragon himself, Zekrom!

The black dragon of Unova stood before them, towering over them.

"Th...That's the black dragon of Ideals...Zekrom..." Iris gasped.

"It must have been awakened by Hilbert's new resolve," Drayden said.

"So you're...Zekrom..." Hilbert muttered.

'Congratulations are in order, Hero of Ideals,' Zekrom's voice boomed.

"We can hear it?" Bianca asked.

'I am communicating with all of your through telepathy, girl,' Zekrom explained.

"Telepathy...?" Cheren gasped.

'Enough of that,' Zekrom said. 'Hero of Ideals. You have shown me your 'resolve', and released the seal. You are indeed the chosen hero that I shall serve.'

"Is that so..." Hilbert said. "Then will you come with me to defeat Team Plasma?"

'I shall,' Zekrom said. '...On one condition.'

"What?" Hilbert asked.

Zekrom roared to the sky, as his tail began to generate intense electricity, which began to grow into a huge ball of electricity. It knocked back everyone around him, except for Hilbert.

"What the–?!" Hilbert gasped.

The ball of electricity, shot into the sky, rocketing out of Opelucid City.

"HILBERT!" Hilda cried as Zekrom took him away.

They stood there as the ball of electricity that was Zekrom jetted into the skies, blasting through clouds as they slowly became smaller until they could no longer be seen. The citizens began to gather around them, wondering what that monster was.

"Grandpa...what just happened...?" Iris asked.

"I would assume that Zekrom wishes to challenge Hilbert," Drayden said. "So he took him to a place where they wouldn't be disturbed."

"We need to go after them!" Hilda yelled.

"But how!?" Cheren yelled. "We don't know where they headed off to, and there's no way any of our Pokémon can even reach such altitudes!"

They all looked distressed. No one could blame them since their friend just got abducted by a giant legendary black dragon. As they tried to figure out what to do, Cheren's and Bianca's Xtransceiver began to ring violently.

"What the?" Cheren asked as they pulled it out.

The screen was showing the map of Unova, with a red, blinking dot headed for the very middle of the region.

"What is this...?" Cheren asked as he began to read the text that appeared within the map details. "...Unknown subject attempting breach detected. Estimated breach time recorded at 2 minutes, 39 seconds."

"Entralink? What's that?" Bianca asked.

"The Entralink is a mysterious place located at the heart of Unova," Drayden explained. "It overviews the areas of Unova that is within its sovereign. It is extremely difficult to get in there with normal means."

"That breach...it must be Hilbert and Zekrom!" Cheren deduced.

"But, how do we get there?" Bianca asked. "If we can't get in with normal means, then does that mean we can't just fly there?"

"I'm afraid not..." Drayden said.

Cheren cursed under his breath, until he noticed that only his and Bianca's Xtransceiver was responding to the current predicament.

"Wait, Hilda, do you have an Xtransceiver?" Cheren asked.

"Huh? Yeah," Hilda said, taking it out.

"Do you mind if I see it?" Cheren asked.

Hilda handed him the Xtransceiver and examined it. Everything was perfectly normal about it, unlike his own.

"Strange...your's isn't responding to this..." Cheren muttered.

"Maybe ours are just special?" Bianca asked.

"That can't be the case. We didn't add any..." Cheren began to say, until something clicked; remembering a certain component in their Xtransceivers that no other model had. "The C-Gear!"

"The C-Gear?" Hilda asked.

"It's a chip that Doctor Fennel installed into our Xtransceivers to record data from the dreams of Pokémon and humans that we came across," Cheren explained as he searched through his Xtrancsceiver for the data. "If the C-Gear is related to this...then..."

After a few seconds of vigorously searching through the files, he finally found the C-Gear menu.

"Found it!" Cheren exclaimed as he searched through the options, until he found an icon that was labeled 'Entralink'. "Bingo!"

"You found it?" Hilda practically demanded.

"If I'm right, then this should allow us access to the Entralink," Cheren said.

"Then let's go!" Bianca yelled.

Cheren nodded as the three of them huddled together, where Cheren selected the Entralink option.

-Would you like to access the Entralink?-

"Yes!" Cheren yelled as he jammed the 'Yes' option.

Within moments, a portal of light surrounded them, as they vanished in a harsh light, leaving Draydn and Iris, along with the several confused denizens of Opelucid City.

"Are they gonna be alright, Grandpa?" Iris asked.

"Have faith in them," Drayden said. "They have an undying bond."

Within seconds, the three found themselves in a vast plain of lush and green. In the middle of the plains stood a gargantuan spiraling tree, and beyond the tree was a vast forest. Two bridges were connected to the east and west sides of the area.

"Is this...the Entralink?" Bianca asked as they stepped out of the portal.

Cheren looked around. All he saw beyond the land was endless sky. He walked towards the edge of the area, to find that no more land was continuing from there. He gazed down to see a sea of clouds, and saw that the land they were standing on was a giant floating island.

"I guess so..." Cheren said. "This is amazing..."

"Where's Hilbert?" Hilda asked. "Your Xtransceiver said he would be arriving here."

As Cheren was about to make a rebuttal, a giant orb of blue lightning shot out from the clouds, literally blasting them away from the edge and into the land. As they got up, they saw that the orb was descending into the Entralink and landed in front of the tree. The electricity faded to reveal Hilbert and Zekrom.

"Hilbert!" they all exclaimed.

The boy dropped down to the ground and dusted himself off.

"How did you guys get here?" Hilbert asked.

"The C-Gears apparently have an app for that," Cheren said.

"Well that would've been helpful to know," Hilbert deadpanned, before looking to the dragon. "What is this place anyways?"

"This is known as the Entralink..." Zekrom explained. "It serves as a boundary that connects dreams and reality. Pokémon and humans. Here, Pokémon derived from the dreams of humans are given life, and become reality."

"Pokémon derived from the dreams of humans?" Hilbert asked.

"Special types of Pokémon," Zekrom explained. "Ones whom possess a unique attribute that others from their species do not have. In your terms, this may be 'Hidden Abilities'."

"Hidden abilities...?" Hilbert gasped, glancing to Accelgor's pokéball. "You mean Pokémon with Hidden Abilities are created here?!"

"That is correct," Zekrom said. "Now then...Hero..."

"That reminds me...what is your 'one condition'?" Hilbert asked. "Assuming you brought me here to such a sanctuary, it must be big."

"Indeed," Zekrom said. "This sanctum represents the dreams of humanity and Pokémon alike. And dreams are a manifestation of hope."

Zekrom glanced down to Hilbert.

"Dreams represent the ideals and truth of humanity and Pokémon," Zekrom said. "Behold at how vast this realm is."

Hilbert looked around, examining the environment. Indeed, this was an impressive site. It has been a while since he seen such beautiful nature that hadn't been destroyed by their war against Team Plasma. Heck this could be the biggest place he ever witnesses; not even Castelia could rival this size.

"Protecting this realm is the equivalent to protecting the hopes of humanity and Pokémon," Zekrom said.

"I get it," Hilbert said. "You want to see if I can prove myself to be worthy of being the Hero of Ideals. This is just a part of that burden, isn't it?"

"You catch on quite quickly," Zekrom mused. "As expected of the one who awakened me from my slumber."

"So? What do I have to do?" Hilbert asked.

"Fight me," Zekrom declared.

"...Say wha?" Hilbert asked.

"Fight me and try to capture me," Zekrom demanded. "You are preparing to go into a war of clashing truths and ideals. Only in battle can you prove your worth as the new Hero of Ideals and settle this outdated war once and for all."

"Fight and capture...Zekrom...?" Bianca gasped.

"Just like how N befriended Reshiram..." Hilda said.

"Hilbert...are you really up for this?" Cheren asked.

"Well the dragon has a point," Hilbert said. "If I were in his position, then I would really want my leader to be competent."

Hilbert grabbed all five of his pokéballs and released his entire team. They all looked up to see Zekrom and jumped in shock.

"-What the hell is that?!-" Samurott yelled.

"-Well this can't be good...-" Excadrill muttered.

"-Is that Zekrom...?-" Archeops asked, remembering the name being mentioned before.

"-It...It's huge!-" Victini gasped.

"-So we've finally come to this stage, eh?-" Accelgor mused.

"You don't mind if I use my whole team on you?" Hilbert asked.

"Fine by me," Zekrom chuckled. "It would make things interesting."

"Alright then," Hilbert said. "Listen up! We're going to capture Zekrom!"

They all looked shocked, wondering how they were going to fight such a large and obviously powerful opponent.

"I know you don't wanna, but there's no turning back for us," Hilbert said. "We need to stop Plasma, and we need Zekrom's help. So if you don't want in on this, then you can sit this one out."

While Excadrill, Archeops and Victini looked hesitant, Samurott and Accelgor stepped up to Hilbert, and promptly turned around to face the black dragon.

"-Heh, I could use some practice before facing that lime-haired prick,-" Samurott snickered, brandishing his aquatic sword.

"-If that is your desire, then it is my duty to serve,-" Accelgor simply said.

The other three looked at each other, until they nodded in agreement and faced Zekrom as well.

"-I've stuck with you ever since the beginning,-" Excadrill said. "-And I'm not about to abandon you now.-"

"-You said you'd show me the world, and you haven't failed yet,-" Archeops said. "-It'll be a shame to stop the journey when we've came so far.-"

"-You saved me from being alone for so long and showed me kindness...-" Victini said. "-It's about time that I repaid that favor!-"

"You guys..." Hilbert said, before smiling. "I couldn't have asked for a better team."

They all faced Zekrom, who was seemingly smirking at the sight of the team.

"So this is your ideal..." Zekrom said. "Very well!"

Zekrom stretched out his wings and let out a huge roar; stray sparks spreading all across his body.

"I am Zekrom! Guardian of Unova's ideals!" Zekrom roared. "Show me your possibilities!"

"Is that true?"

Back at N's Castle, the prince had entered the room where a sudden freak explosion rang throughout the castle, where he was being informed by Ghetsis and the Shadow Triad of what happened.

"I am afraid so, my lord," Ghetsis said. "Hilda has betrayed us."

N was shocked. He had known Hilda ever since she had joined their ranks eight years ago and had considered her a reliable and trustworthy friend. He could never imagine her betraying the ideology that they have followed for eight years.

"But...why?" N asked Ghetsis.

"It would appear that she has cracked," Ghetsis explained. "Her obsession for Hilbert led her to steal data from her father, knock him out and seduce Hilbert to betray Plasma with her."

"...I...see..." N said.

"I'm truly sorry, Lord N," Ghetsis said.

N just looked down to the ground, lost in his own shock.

"Shall I bring you something to eat?" Ghetsis asked.

"No, that's alright," N said. "I just need some time to myself."

"As you wish," Ghetsis said. "Shadow Triad, come. We must investigate the remainder of the castle."

The three clones nodded in response as they vanished, where Ghetsis made his leave. Once he was out of sight, N glanced behind him, where a female grunt emerged from the shadows.

"Was he telling the truth?" N asked her.

"Hardly," she answered. "Ghetsis knocked out Colress and dragged Hilda here, brutally plowed through her team and blasted her out of the castle."

N narrowed his eyes, comparing the descriptions of the event that took place. One of them was obviously a lie, and he didn't have to think twice as to which one it was. But a question still remains.

"Why would Ghetsis lie to me?" N asked. "Isn't our goal to liberate Pokémon?"

N pondered at that thought. If Ghetsis had lied to him about this, then what else had he been lying to him about?

"...N," the grunt said. "I suggest that you wait for Hilbert to come to you."

"Hilbert?" N asked.

The grunt pointed to Reshiram, who was floating outside the castle in front of the giant hole. The white dragon seemed to be staring to the light that crept from the ceiling of the cave that the castle was in.

"...Zekrom..." N deduced. "The black dragon of ideals has awakened, eh?"

Reshiram nodded its head.

"...I see..." N said. "...Then I shall wait for him to come to me. There's no point in trying to find out myself. Knowing Ghetsis, he would have his tracks covered."

The grunt nodded as she suddenly transformed into Zoroark.

"Hilbert and Hilda are definitely involved in whatever Ghetsis is hiding," N said. "Once they show up, then Ghetsis will most certainly make a move. I just need to wait until then."

N faced his legendary dragon.

"...The time to settle our dispute is approaching."

Zekrom roared and exhaled a mighty gust that blasted everyone. They all managed to stand their ground, as Hilbert scanned Zekrom with the pokédex.

"Zekrom, the Deep Black Pokémon," it read. "This Pokémon appears in legends. In its tail, it has a giant generator that creates electricity."

"An electric dragon huh..." Hilbert muttered.

"Hilbert!" Hilda cried.

"You all stay out of this!" Hilbert yelled. "This is my fight!"

They didn't seem to accept it, but nonetheless complied begrudgingly.

"Samurott, Blizzard! Excadrill, Drill Run!"

Samurott unleashed a howling blizzard at Zekrom, who shielded it with his large arm. Excadrill turned into his drill form and rushed at Zekrom, who then proceeded to grab him with his claw, holding the drill in place until he lost momentum

"-Wha–!?-" Excadrill gasped, before Zekrom hurled him at Samurott

"-Guagh!-" they gagged as the mole collided with the otter.

"Excadrill!" Hilbert cried. "Archeops, Stone Edge! Accelgor, Victini, Focus Blast!"

Archeops summoned several jagged rocks and launched them at Zekrom, while Accelgor and Victini created their own Focus Blast and launched them at the dragon. Zekrom unleashed another blast of mighty gust, intercepting all of the projectiles and erasing them.

"Damn it! What was that?" Hilbert asked.

"That was Dragonbreath!" Cheren called out. "Be careful, it can paralyze you!"

"Great, as if it wasn't hard enough," Hilbert grumbled as Zekrom was about to unleash another Dragonbreath. "Me First!"

Accelgor's eyes glinted at Zekrom, then unleahsed his own Dragonbreath at Zekrom. The dragon saw this coming, and waited for the copied Dragonbreath to come closer, before unleashing his own, which was somehow stronger than before, blasting Accelgor's Dragonbreath.

"What?!" Hilbert gasped.

"-He saw that coming, and charged his own attack!-" Accelgor deduced.

"Damn it," Hilbert cursed.

"What's the matter?!" Zekrom taunted. "Surely you can do better!"

Zekrom began to charge psychic energy into his forehead and proceeded to charge at them. Samurott managed to recover fast enough to jump and slam his blade at Zekrom, along with Victini who used his own Zen Headbutt to try and stop Zekrom. Despite this, however, the dragon as too strong, and managed to push them back.

"-Agh!-" Victini cried.

"-Damn it!-" Samurott growled.

Excadrill tried another Drill Run and lunged at Zekrom as he finished his attack. Having no time to dodge, Zekrom could only take the hit, as Excadrill began to drill at his chest.

"Bulls eye!" Bianca cheered.

But despite it being super effective to the electric dragon, Zekrom didn't seem to budge.

"What?!" Hilbert gasped.

Archeops flew above Zekrom and launched several more Stone Edges at him. Zekrom, in response, let out a mighty roar with enough force to send Excadrill and Archeops back.

"-That didn't work?!-" Excadrill cried, shocked that his Ground-type move didn't even phase Zekrom.

Electricity began to form in Zekrom's tail as he began to rise into the air.

"Oh this can't be good..." Hilbert muttered.

"TAKE THIS!" Zekrom roared. "FUSION BOLT!"

Intense electricity surrounded Zekrom as he became a large blue orb of electricity and rose to the air. Zekrom then plummeted to the ground, causing a huge electrical explosion that consumed Hilbert and all of his Pokémon.

"GAAAAAH!" Hilbert's scream echoed throughout all of Entralink.

"HILBERRRT!" Hilda screamed as she could only see an azure aura of thunder envelope the area that e and Zekrom had been fighting in.

The smoke and electricity cleared, as Zekrom stood back up. He glanced down to see how they had handled his attack. They were all knocked out, charred by the electricity. Electricity was coursing through their bodies, as they laid there unconscious, with the legendary black dragon looming over them.

"...Is that the end?" Zekrom asked.

Meanwhile at Castelia, Doctor Fennel was looking through a device, monitoring some readings at her lab in one of Castelia's apartments.

"Doctor? What's wrong?" her assistant, Amanita asked, as her watchog was carrying around some files.

"Oh nothing, I've been receiving some massive data from the C-Gears is all," Fennel said.

"The C-Gears? You mean the ones you gave to Hilbert and his friends?" Amanita asked.

"Yes," Fennel answered. "Although this is strange...this is the first time I've ever received this much data at once..."

As Fennel was looking through the data, a doorbell rang throughout the lab.

"Amanita, could you answer that?" Fennel asked.

"Okay, Doctor," Amanita accepted as she went to answer the intercom. "Yes? Who is it?"

"Ma'am, you have s-some guests," the receptionist said.

"Guests?" Amanita asked.

"Yes, one Aurea Juniper," the receptionist answered. "Along with some...'other people'."

"Professor Juniper?" Amanita asked.

"Let them in!" Fennel called out, hearing Amanita.

"Please let them in," Amanita replied.

"As you wish," the receptionist said before cutting off.

After a few moments, the door opened, where Juniper's group barged into the lab.

"Aurea! It's been a while!" Fennel called out.

"It sure has, Fennel," Juniper said. "Hope you don't mind me bringing some friends."

"Of course, I don't..." Fennel said as she went over to greet her, only to recognize her 'friends'. "A-Aurea...aren't they the..."

"Unova Elite Four and Champion, yes," Juniper answered matter-of-factly.

"EEEEH?!" Fennel gasped. "What're they doing here?! They're practically celebrities!"

"Pleased to make your acquaintance, ma'am," Alder greeted.

"O-Oh, yes pleased to meet you," Fennel bowed to the Pokémon League members before turning to Cedric and Fiona. "It's been a while, Mister Juniper."

"Fennel, it's been quite a while," Cedric said.

Fennel then turned to Fiona. "And you are, ma'am?"

"The name's Fiona," she introduced herself. "I'm a friend of the Junipers."

"A friend of theirs is a friend of mine," Fennel smiled. "I'm Fennel, pleased to meet you."

Fennel extended her hand, which Fiona accepted with little interest.

"Now, why did you want to meet up again, Aurea?" Fennel asked.

"Well..." Juniper said.

She then began to explain everything that has happened in the past few days, including Hilbert's defection to Team Plasma, the truth about them, and Hilbert being the Hero of Ideals.

"Wow...a lot happened..." Fennel said, trying to let all the information sink in. "So Hilbert's...?"

"He's back on our side, but it's gonna take a while for him to get his emotions back together," Juniper said. "I figured I'd fill you in on the situation and reassess it."

"About that," Fennel said. "There's something I was looking into right now."

"What is it?" Fiona asked.

Watchog walked over and handed Fennel the device she was looking at before Juniper came.

"Thank you," Fennel said. "Now, take a look at this."

They all glanced over to the device in question, where it showed a violent amount of data being processed.

"What is this?" Shauntal asked.

"This is data that is being transferred here from the children's C-Gear," Fennel explained. "It usually consists of data derived from the dreams they or their Pokémon have, and also the dreams that other humans and Pokémon they pass by have."

"They must have passed by a lot of people and Pokémon to get this much data," Grimsley said.

"That's the thing," Fennel said. "Normally the data received would be in a smaller amount. But this sheer spike is a first."

"Explain," Caitlin said.

"The data that the C-Gear received up to this point was pretty miniscule," Fennel said. "For Cheren and Bianca at least. Hilbert's on the other hand was gradually increasing as time passed on, eventually reaching a huge amount, before suddenly shrinking back to its original amount–no even smaller than initially. But seeing how you said that Hilbert went to Team Plasma and is now able to talk to Pokémon, then that wouldn't surprise me."

"Then what about this huge spike?" Marshal asked.

"I don't know," Fennel said. "All three of their C-Gears suddenly spiked in data, which in turn led to this torrent of dream data."

"It's as if they're now surrounded by dreams," Cedric said.

"Yes...it's almost like..." Fennel trailed off. "Wait a minute...don't tell me..."

Fennel suddenly got up and rushed off to her computer, typing in some coordinates.

"Fennel?" Juniper asked.

"This sudden spike of data is near-impossible for them," Fennel explained. "Unless they're in a place where dreams are constantly around them at a nonstop pace, giving the C-Gears enough data to go haywire. Does anyone know where they headed?"

"Beheeyem informed me that they were headed to Opelucid," Fiona said.

"Opelucid...of course..." Fennel said.

Fennel brought up a map of Unova, where she pinpointed Opelucid City.

"Of course, they must be in the Entralink!" Fennel exclaimed.

"The Entralink?" Marshal asked.

"The Entralink is basically the heart of Unova, and is comprised of almost 100% dreams," Fennel said.

"How is that possible?" Shauntal asked.

"The dreams of all of Unova gather to the heart of Unova, where the Entralink Tree gathers it all and stores it within itself," Fennel explained. "The gathered dreams cumulate into the Entralink."

"So the Entralink is one big cluster of dreams?" Marshal asked.

"Exactly," Fennel said. "If they're in such a place, then that perfectly explains the sudden spike. The C-Gears mucst be reacting to all the dreams around them."

"Isn't this interesting," Caitlin mused.

"So how did they get there?" Fiona asked.

"They're in the Entralink Province, so they must have found the C-Gear's function to teleport there," Fennel said. "And I should have a stable connection to the Entralink right…about...now!"

As soon as she said that, the monitor connected to the Entralink and showed the area in it. The moment it connected however, the first thing it showed was Zekrom blasting Hilbert and his team with Fusion Bolt.

"HILBERT!" Fiona cried.

"HOW DARE YOU!" Hilda screamed as she was about to join the fray, before being held back by Cheren and Bianca.

"You can't go in there!" Bianca yelled.

"We can't face something like that!" Cheren yelled. "Look what it did to Hilbert!"

"Screw that!" Hilda growled, trying to break free. "I'm gonna kill that dragon!"

Zekrom simply watched as Hilda tried to break free from Bianca and Cheren. The dragon simply scoffed.

"Foolish human..." Zekrom said. "Letting your emotions take control of your actions. You cannot defeat me like that..."

"I don't want to hear it!" Hilda growled. "How DARE you hurt Hilbert like that!"

"This was necessary," Zekrom shot back. "You all are planning on entering a war. If the Hero of Ideals cannot handle me, then you all are not fit to fight Reshiram and the Hero of Truth."

Zekrom glared at Hilda.

"Then that means he is only that strong."

"WHY YOU–!" Hilda growled.

"STOP!"

The command broke through the feud instantly. They all looked down to see `Hilbert, trying to get up and vehemently glaring at Zekrom.

"I thought I told you...that this was my fight..." Hilbert grumbled as he struggled to get back up. "And for you...to stay out of it..."

"Hilbert!" Hilda gasped.

"Impressive..." Zekrom said. "To be able to stand after taking Fusion Bolt directly. You are one sturdy human."

"I've taken a lot of crap that could've killed me by now..." Hilbert smirked. "It's gonna take more than that to kill me."

"Indeed," Zekrom said. "But you have no more Pokémon by your side to fight for you. Pray tell, how can you defeat me by yourself?"

"Keh! Whoever said that they were done?" Hilbert asked.

Zekrom looked confused, until he saw Samurott get back up, albeit by struggling.

"What?" Zekrom asked, until he noticed that VIctini had recovered first, and was providing energy to everyone else. "So you have the generator give you strength for one last struggle, eh?"

"We've been through hell and back," Hilbert said as he managed to get back on his legs. "I don't care if your some legendary warlord; it's gonna take more than that to put us down."

"Interesting..." Zekrom chuckled. "Adamant. But can you best me in battle? You were barely able to deal damage to me."

"Then we're just gonna have to keep beating some hits into you 'till you feel damage," Hilbert said. "I don't care how long it takes...no matter how many times we're beaten to the ground...we'll just keep getting back up and do some more damage."

"Foolish..." Zekrom muttered. "Do you really think that you have that kind of strength? You are facing a 'god'. How do you expect mere 'normals' to beat such a force?"

"-Such your trap already you narcissistic piece of shit!-" Samurott growled. "-God you're even worse than the prick...I don't give a crap as to how we're supposed to beat you. We're beating you, period. You can turn us into ash for all we care. We've come this far, and I ain't letting Hilbert down and kicking the goddamn bucket here!-"

"-In your eyes, you might think that we need you to win against Team Plasma,-" Excadrill said as he got back up. "-And in fact, yeah we might. But if you're not gonna cooperate, then we might as well fight them without you. It might be impossible, but then again it might not be. There might be a way. But until we have to find it, we're going to beat you to the ground.-"

"-No matter how many tries we have to take,-" Archeops said as he got back up. "-No matter how many times we're beaten to the ground...we will get back up. We've finally obtained our freedom. And we're damn as hell ready to keep it.-"

"-You're no god!-" Victini yelled. "-You're just one big bully! Saying that this is necessary, but you should know that you need our help to beat Plasma just as much as we need your help! We're not gonna lose to some bully like you!-"

"-You may be stronger than us, but the fact remains: you are alone,-" Accelgor said as he got back up. "-I know how it is to fight alone and to fight with comrades. To fight alone means that you must trust no one and throw away everything to live in solitude. I have done that for my vendetta against Plasma. But during my time fighting with Hilbert and his comrades, I felt a sense of security. Like I no longer have to dwell myself into solitude, and finally have the sense of trust that I have lost years ago.-"

"These guys are pretty adamant like me," Hilbert said. "Once they set their mind on something, nothing's gonna stop them now."

"Even when faced against me?" Zekrom asked.

"Especially against you," Hilbert smirked. "We've come this far! We've been through rough times and stuck by each other through thick and thin! I don't give a crap if you're a supposed 'god'! I'm gonna fulfill my ideal wish!"

"Pray tell, what are your ideals?" Zekrom asked.

"To protect everyone that I care for!" Hilbert declared. "And to beat some sense into the 'Hero of Truth'!"

"Hilbert..." Hilda said, amazed at his sudden burst of life.

Hilbert glared at Zekrom as his team all got back up.

"And for that, I need your power!" Hilbert yelled. "I need you in my team, so that I can go kick N's ass and his goddamn white dragon and finally put a stop to those goddamn hypocritical terrorist hippies! So? What's your answer? 'Black Dragon of Ideals', Zekrom?"

Zekrom's eyes widened at the boy's vehement declaration. Not once did he ever see this kind of ambition; this kind of determination; this kind of will for years. The last person he ever witnessed such traits was the Hero of Ideals before Hilbert. The dragon couldn't help but chuckle.

"Foolish...truly foolish...just like that fool centuries ago..." Zekrom chuckled. "But...truly admirable..."

Zekrom roared into the air, as he took flight once more.

"Very well! Then let this determine it all!" Zekrom declared. "Face me! Hero of Ideals! Show me your worth!"

Zekrom began to charge electricity into his generator tail once more, as he prepared another Fusion Bolt. Accelgor saw this coming, and his eyes glinted. The moment Zekrom began to set up, Accelgor lifted his arms, as a violent electrical current began to course through his body, cumulating into one giant azure ball of thunder.

"FUSION BOLT!"

Zekrom charged for Hilbert's group, but didn't see that Accelgor had already charged his own copied Fusion Bolt and collided with the bug. They tried to push each other back, but Accelgor had also copied Zekrom's power in the process, allowing him to push Zekrom back, ending the Fusion Bolt collage. As Zekrom flinched back, Accelgor jumped over Zekrom and unleashed a barrage of Focus Blasts at the dragon, managing to deal great damage and making the dragon shield himself and bringing him to the ground.

"-Accelgor made an opening!-" Excadrill yelled. "-C'mon! We can't lose to him!-"

"-Yeah!-" Archeops and Victini agreed.

As they charged at the dragon, they all began to glow a strange aura: beige for Excadrill, brown for Archeops and red for Victini.

"What the?" Hilbert asked, until he noticed his pokédex reacting to it.

He took it out and scanned the three, and found a rather startling, yet pleasant surprise.

"Change in party found," it read. "Excadrill has learned a new move: 'Earthquake'. It has replaced previous move: 'Drill Run'. Archeops has learned a new move: 'Head Smash'. It has replaced previous move: 'Endeavor'. Victini has learned a new move: 'Searing Shot. It has replaced previous move: 'Incinerate'. Victini has learned a new move: "V-create." It has replaced previous move: "Quick Attack"."

"-They learned new moves?-" Samurott gasped.

"Alright! It's all or nothing!" Hilbert yelled. "Excadrill, Earthquake!"

Excadrill slammed both of his claws into the ground, shaking the earth violently and hitting Zekrom with several parts of the earth.

"Guogh?!" Zekrom cried in pain.

"It's working...!" Cheren gasped.

"You can do it Hilbert!" Bianca cheered.

"Let's go!" Hilda cheered on.

"Archeops, Head Smash! Victini, Searing Shot!"

As Zekrom recovered from the Earthquake, Archeops charged at Zekrom and crashed into him with a powerful headbutt which was strong enough to send the gargantuan dragon flying back a little. Archeops flew out of the way, as Victini crouched his body together and his whole body glows pale red. His body then became surrounded in a teardrop-shape red flame and launched the flames at Zekrom in one fiery sea of infernos, scorching the dragon.

"Where...did this power come from...?" Zekrom asked.

Seeing the opportunity, Hilbert took out a pokéball and hurled it at Zekrom. The button of the ball smacked Zekrom on the head, as the ball sucked the dragon in a red light. The ball fell to the ground, shook three times, but soon broke apart, releasing Zekrom.

"Tch..." Hilbert muttered. "Victini has learned one more move...V-create!"

Victini's ears ignited into flames. The flames then disappeared, leaving a V-shaped yellow flame around his head and a red aura around Victini's body. Victini then rushed towards Zekrom as he was about to use Zen Headbutt and crashed into the dragon. The collision caused a huge explosion, leaving both Victini and Zekrom to fall to the ground from the collision. Zekrom managed to recover from the blow, and landed on his feet.

"So this...is your power..." Zekrom muttered.

"That's right! This is our power!" Hilbert yelled as Samurott stabbed the ground with his two blades. "No matter what! Even if you beat us to the ground! We won't yield!"

A violent blue aura surrounded Samurott as he began to charge energy into his mouth until it became a bright blue orb, which he aimed at Zekrom.

"TAKE THIS!" Hilbert yelled as Samurott unleashed his Hydro Cannon at Zekrom.

Powered by Torrent, the Hydro Cannon had enough power to blast Zekrom off his feet and make him crash to the ground. The titanic dragon couldn't take anymore after the barrage of powerful attacks and fell to the ground, defeated and tired. Seeing this as his opportunity, Hilbert took out another pokéball.

"GO!" Hilbert yelled as he hurled it at Zekrom.

The pokéball smacked Zekrom and sucked him up in a red light, trapping the dragon inside the small pokéball. The pokéball fell to the ground where it shook three times, but this time a light flashed around it, signaling Zekrom's capture.

"Finally..." Hilbert sighed as he collapsed to the ground.

"HILBERT!"

The boy looked back up to see his three friends rushing over to him now that the battle was over.

"Oh hey you guys..." Hilbert panted as his Pokémon finally collapsed from exhaustion.

"That was amazing!" Bianca exclaimed in awe. "You captured Zekrom!"

"Yep..." Hilbert muttered, before getting tackled by Hilda.

"Oh my gosh are you alright?!" Hilda blubbered as she smothered him.

"Ow! Yeah, okay I'm fine–OW for Arceus sake woman!" Hilbert yelled, trying to pry Hilda off of him until he noticed that she was tearing up.

"I was...so worried..." Hilda weeped.

"Hilda..." Hilbert said, before smiling. "Y'know...you've changed a lot..."

"Fueh?" she blurted, looking up.

"The Hilda I used to know when we were kids wouldn't shed a single tear and just sigh at our stupidity," Hilbert said. "And the Hilda I met during my journey was an unyielding and probably insane dominatrix. But..."

Hilbert placed his forehead against her forehead.

"Seeing you expressing emotions like this...is refreshing to see..." Hilbert said. "It's the sight I've always wanted to see from you ever since we were little."

Hilda couldn't help but blush at his comment, but feel relieved. More relieved than she'd ever felt for eight years.

"I-It's no problem..." Hilda stuttered.

As they moved away after a few moments, Cheren tossed a pokéball at Hilbert, which he caught.

"Here," Cheren said. "I picked it up for you while you were in the middle of that."

"Thanks," Hilbert said.

"Seriously...in the end you always do such reckless things..." Cheren sighed.

"Oh preach it somewhere else," Hilbert muttered.

"But...I guess that's what makes you, 'you'," Cheren mused. "If you never did take risks, then who knows where we would be. You are yourself after all. So maybe this was for the best. Just...don't take it too far. We still worry about you, you know."

"Yeah, yeah," Hilbert sniggered as he pounded fists with his best friend.

Hilbert then scanned Zekrom's pokéball for all the data he can get.

"Zekrom. Dragon/Electric Type. Brave Nature. Likes to thrash about. Teravolt for the ability. Teravolt: Moves can be used regardless of abilities. Known moves: Slash, Dragonbreath, Zen Headbutt, Fusion Bolt."

"Welp, I finally got a full party," Hilbert said. "So now what?"

"N won't make a move until he confirms that you have obtained Zekrom," Hilda explained. "And even then it'll take a few days before he makes his move."

"Alright then," Hilbert said as he got up and turned to his Pokémon. "You guys are the best. You all deserve a nice long rest."

Hilbert then released Zekrom, allowing him to materialize in front of him.

"Well done, Hero..." Zekrom said to him. "I commend you on your strength and the strength of your bonds."

"Thanks for that," Hilbert said. "Now...how do we get out of here?"

"Leave that one to me," Zekrom chimed.

Zekrom kneeled down, gesturing the four humans to ride on him, which they did. Zekrom then rose up to the air, being surrounded by an intense electrical aura and rocketed into the air.

"They did it!" Fennel cheered.

The adult group in Castelia were rejoicing after having witnessed Hilbert's comeback and capture of Zekrom.

"As expected of my son," Fiona boasted arrogantly.

"Now we have Zekrom on our side," Marshal commented. "Not to mention Hilbert also has Victini and the girl is on our side. We have a fighting chance."

"But, we still need to be prepared," Alder said.

"What do you mean?" Shauntal asked.

"While Hilbert does have a fighting chance, now that he is the Hero of Ideals and claimed Zekrom," Alder explained. "There's no telling when Team Plasma will strike. Knowing them, they will most likely strike before Hilbert gets to the Pokémon League. We need to be prepared for them at all costs."

"So we're setting up the stage for the young hero," Caitlin said, before giggling. "Oh this brings me back. Just like that day when that girl challenged Darach and bested him years ago."

"Fiona, I suggest you hide with Professor Juniper and Doctor Fennel here," Alder suggested. "Team Plasma might come after you to possibly use as a hostage."

Fiona leered at the old man, but he had a point. While the grunts were no problem, and she certainly had less to fear now that Hilda is no longer with Team Plasma, the same can't be said about the Seven Sages, especially Ghetsis. Not to mention that N is still lurking within their ranks. She wasn't confident in her abilities to best them.

"...Fine," Fiona muttered. "You better not go down without a fight, or else I'll show you what a true fight is."

"Duly noted," Alder chuckled. "I'm glad you haven't changed at least."

"Heh, speak for yourself, old man," Fiona smirked.

With their plan set, the Elite Four left the building, as Fiona, Juniper, Fennel and Cedric began to discuss more.

"Hey, Caitlin," Grimsley asked her. "Who is this girl that faced your butler?"

"Hm? Oh a trainer back in Sinnoh," Caitlin explained. "She was challenging several facilities and challenged my castle at one point. While she struggled a bit, once she understood the rules, she made a slaughterhouse out of my castle. At least her fight against Darach was entertaining."

"Curious then," Grimsley said. "Who's better then? Hilbert or this girl?"

"I cannot say, since I have never fought Hilbert myself," Caitlin said. "But for now if those two were to fight..."

The elevator reached the lobby and the doors opened up, allowing them to exit.

"The boy has no chance against her," Caitlin chuckled. "She is blessed by the 'devil' and hated by 'God' after all."

Opelucid City was in a frenzy. After the sighting of Zekrom, the townspeople went crazy, bombarding Drayden and Iris with questions about the legendary black dragon and the trainer who awakened it.

"Mayor Drayden! Was that the legendary Zekrom!?"

"Who was that trainer that it tool?!"

"Where did they go!? And did the other three with him go to the same place as well!?"

"Please calm down!" Drayden yelled, trying to ease the masses.

"We can't answer all of them at once you idiots!" Iris yelled angrily. "One at a time for Arceus sake!"

As the two tried to calm down the masses to no avail, a rumbling sound quickly echoed the city. They all looked up to see a giant ball of azure descend to the city, landing on the free road where they took off initially. Eveyone backed off as the ball landed, not wanting to get charred by the electricity. The ball dissipated to reveal Zekrom, and the four kids.

"Hilbert!" Iris exclaimed.

"You captured Zekrom?!" Drayden gasped.

"Yeah," Hilbert said.

The people instantly pried off Drayden and Iris and rushed over to the dragon, but he let out a warning roar, making them back off.

"I don't like zerg rushes," Hilbert growled. "And neither does Zekrom apparently."

"Hmph..." Zekrom scoffed.

"Now then..." Hilbert said. "Face me to the Pokémon League."

Zekrom nodded and turned around to the north of the city, where a giant mountain was visible from there. Hilbert got off his back and jumped onto Zekrom's arm, which the dragon lifted up for Hilbert to stand on.

"PLASMA! YOU CAN SEE THIS, CAN'T YOU!?" Hilbert boomed. "JUST LIKE WHAT YOU WANTED! I CAPTURED ZEKROM!"

Everyone was stunned by Hilbert's sudden outburst, while his friends were giving off expressions of approval.

"YOU ASSHOLE TERRORISTS BETTER WATCH YOUR BACKS!" Hilbert yelled. "CAUSE I'M COMING FOR YOU! I'M GOING TO BRING YOU TO THE GROUND! AND I'M GOING TO FREE ALL OF UNOVA FROM YOUR TERROR AND END THIS! ONCE! AND! FOR! ALL!"

The crowd went into a loud applaud, amazed by Hilbert's declaration. Many began to view him as a hero, while others were just glad that someone will finally stand up to them.

"Hey, you're not afraid of dragons anymore," Iris chuckled.

"Huh?" Hilbert asked, until realizing that he hadn't flinched when facing Zekrom at all and chuckled. "Oh right. I guess I must have gotten over it."

"Well done, Hilbert," Drayden congratulated. "Or should I say, Hero of Ideals?"

Hilbert smiled at the two, then glared back to the Pokémon League.

"Your days are numbered N, Ghetsis," Hilbert practically spat Ghetsis's name. "For now, let's head back to Nuvema. We need to rest and think of a battle plan."

"A wise move, Master," Zekrom said.

"Just call me Hilbert," Hilbert said. "We're friends after all."

"What an interesting human you are," Zekrom chuckled as he took off.

Back at N's Castle, N was fidgeting with his Void Cube in his throne room, taking in all the information that Zoroark had shared with him. Reshiram was next to him, looking up to the sky.

"Oh we will...Hilbert," N said. "We will settle this once and for all."

Ghetsis merely smiled as he headed off to his own destination.

"Finally, the two dragons shall be within my grasp," Ghetsis said.

He entered a room, where Colress was being hanged by his hands against the wall.

"I have to say, I am disappointed in you, Colress," Ghetsis said.

"Ghetsis..." Colress hissed.

"I gave you hospitality, all the technology you could desire, and I even gave you mercy so that you may fulfill your petty little wish," Ghetsis said. "And how do you repay me? By going against my back."

"This was all your fault to begin with!" Colress growled.

"Now, now," Ghetsis said. "You shouldn't be making accusations like that. It's quite rude. Even if you are speaking the truth."

Colress leered at the man as he walked around.

"Normally I would have you fed to Hydreigon like I did with your friend," Ghetsis said, earning another murderous growl from the scientist. "But you are too valuable to lose. We still need you to complete many things. The Therian forms and MK-II are among the projects that we need your help to complete."

Ghetsis then decided to take out a pokéball.

"And you want this back, don't you?" Ghetsis asked tauntingly.

"You piece of shit!" Colress growled.

"Now there, you shouldn't use language like that," Ghetsis said. "Now then..."

One of the Shadow Triad showed up next to Ghetsis, with an elgyum.

"Let us do something about that rebellious spirit of yours," Ghetsis said. "Do not worry, you'll get your petty Pokémon back. But until you cooperate with us."

"Wait...No...Don't do it...!" Colress begged.

"You are too rebellious to cooperate with us," Ghetsis said. So we need to do something about that."

"Stop! Please! I beg of you!" Colress yelled.

Ghetsis merely smirked as he snapped his fingers, signaling the Shadow Triad to command elgyum. The elgyum lifted its arm, where its digits began to flash systematically.

"NOOOOOOO!"

And the scientist's world went black.

To be continued

AN: And that's that. Hilbert finally obtained Zekrom and the time to raid the Pokemon League is upon us. I'm sorry if content-wise this felt a little short, but since I primarily dedicated this chapter to the fight with Zekrom, I guess there was no other choice. Everyone's making their move, N is starting to get suspicious with Ghetsis, who in turn did something to Colress, and everyone on Hilbert's team go a brand new toy to play with (asides from Samurott and Accelgor). And to sum things up, here is Hilbert's final team:

Samurott

Naughty Nature

Razor Shell/Blizzard/Megahorn/Hydro Cannon

Excadrill

Adamant Nature

Earthquake/Focus Blast/Rock Slide/Sandstorm

Archeops

Head Smash/Acrobatics/Stone Edge/U-turn

Victini

Searing Shot/Zen Headbutt/Focus Blast/V-create

Accelgor

Modest Nature

Bug Buzz/Focus Blast/Giga Drain/Me First

Zekrom

Brave Nature

Slash/Dragonbreath/Zen Headbutt/Fusion Bolt

And there's the current overview of Hilbert's complete team. Movesets will not be final until they enter the Pokemon League. Now while the next chapter is going to be some filler-content, I want to know, would you guys want me to write out the fights against the Elite Four? Or do you want me to skip that and head straight for N already defeating Alder and onto the climax (basically vaguely describe that Hilbert already defeated them and rush off to face N or something like that)? Just tell me in the reviews or PM me and by the next chapter I will have come to a decision.

I do hope that this chapter made up for a two month hiatus and I do hope you enjoyed it. I'll try to make the next chapter faster than this one, but judging from my schedule, I can't make any promises. I won't discontinue this, don't you worry. Just, this might take a while.

Well, I'll see you next time.
