Hello everyone! So I really appreciate those who reviewed last chapter! I know some of you finally got caught up with the story and were curious to know what was happening, but I'm just happy you all could keep reading the story!
So this story is over a year old now. Wow, and only twenty-nine chapters too! I'm posting more chapters this month and for the rest of the year.
(x = # of chapters that I'm gonna post for the rest of the year)
5 x 10 (Min: 5 Max: 10)
I doubt I can get twenty chapters by the end of this year, but I'm wishing that I can get somewhere around fifth-teen.
Notes:
I have a few projects to take care of; Therefore, chapter updates might take more time.
Let's continue.
Chapter 29
The Undertaking
~~(Tigress's POV)~~
One could not identify such a tragedy, an unsurmountable situation, almost to be one. The thought of an assault like this was an unpretentious, and utterly vile act.
Indeed, this is not the only case of death of someone outside of civilized communities, it is one to note down.
Now, the killer is unknown, but I'm going to assume he's traveling to the Valley of Peace. It's a perfect target for assassins.
Then, you have to assume that the target of the killer could've contracted and a significant amount of reward could have influenced the incident.
There is also more information as well. The paper I retrieved seems to have been written in a foreign language. One that I simply cannot identify. Which brings me to the skeptical side of the argument - Was it suicide?
It's very debatable, yet I can't draw too many conclusions that it was an assassination or suicide.
This individual did die for sure, and it leads me to keep thinking. I didn't really expect something like this, but being a traveler, you'll find...unique...items along the path to your goals.
"Hey, Tigress?" asked Po, "Shouldn't we get going?" he finished. The panda was in the center of the path, ready to continue on their journey.
"Yes, indeed." I replied. I made sure the paper was tucked in my pocket tightly, making sure that it wouldn't fall out. The dirk was in Po's bag, so I didn't have to worry about that...well...then again.
Po started to walk down the path while I slowly caught up to him. He walked slowly enough so I could catch up to him.
I trailed up behind him, slid next to him, and we started walking down the path to civilization, the southern region of China.
They walked on for an hour, looking at the terrain and the earth that awaited their every step. It wasn't long until someone broke the silence.
"Shouldn't we go a little faster? Just so we could reach this city you were talking about?" questioned Po. Who always seemed to be curious.
"If I remember, Dragon Pass is the barrier between the province of Qinghai and Sichuan. We'll get to Chengdu eventually." she said. "The answer is yes."
~~(24 Hours Later)~~
The unthinkable occurred. The most unexpected moment that could freeze their expedition happened. It happened. It being the unique. It being careless of comfort.
Mass confusion, mass corruption, and mass carelessness. For it could not be countered by any direct acquisition.
What wood could that of an individual know not. One could not agnise an entirely difficult situation, not even someone who was witty.
Mistakes are made, mistakes can be used as an example to learn. To learn from mistakes, you must commit one. However, some mistakes cannot be learnt, simply because you cannot be there to learn.
In this case, there was no mistake. There wasn't something to learn or adapt to, it simply occurred. It couldn't be interpreted either.
Why hadn't Tigress attempt to do something about the incident? Because there was nothing she could do.
She took the initiative to do something, but it wasn't enough. It wouldn't affect the effect of the cause. For it was something she could not control.
Now shined with misery and guilt. The tiger couldn't believe what had happened, yet she felt that it would have come regardless, and yet it was still something she couldn't handle, nor control.
She let her guard down, it caused much genocide and pain. She only thought of what to do now, with mistakes made like this, how could one recover?
I don't know what happened. It was fine, peaceful, everything was going well. Including the goals I had promised I would accomplish were headed in the correct direction. Yet, the unexpected happen...again. Is this a coincidence, a conspiracy?
One would not assume such a thought, but one would believe in the existence. My life has been successful in being prepared, honest, and doing what is right - integrity.
Did I do not what I should have done? Did I do something wrong? Was there a mistake? Was there a breach that wasn't filled, a hole in the wall? Or was it writing on the wall? And I must've not seen it.
Is it a mistake or a piece of life? An exact specimen? So many questions, no time. Maybe just a little, but not enough. Not enough to save peoples' lives.
Tigress laid on the ground silently. No movement of any kind. She didn't desire any unnecessary noise to be constructed.
There was smoke in the air. Thick, dark clouds meandered towards the sky. Making the world seem perilous.
Fire had emerged greatly from the burnt buildings of the suburbs. Blood was scattered about. Flesh and bones as well.
She had been wounded, an arrow pierced her leg, it was causing her to bleed intensively. It was the best reason why she was nearly immobile. Not to mention of course of the killers that were being utter vagrants in the area.
They had absolutely destroyed the outer suburbs of the city, and it wouldn't be long until there would be a retaliation, if there was one to come.
Well guys thats it for this chapter.
I know this one was a bit too mysterious, I'm sorry I have a tight schedule.
Take Care!
