Gilbert slashed wildly with the butter knife, trying to get at Russia's face. The dull knife made a small scratch on his right cheek, but Gilbert's slashes were far too wild to actually hit anything.
Russia put his hands up to defend himself, but remained more or less silent as Gilbert attacked him. At the moment there wasn't much difference between Gilbert and his experiences with Oliver... All he had to do was remain quiet until Gilbert was done...
Russia heard a shout and Gilbert jumped off of him like an animal. Russia sat up to see America followed by several other countries rush into the room to restrain Gilbert and help Russia back up. Once Gilbert was restrained, his brother was on him in an instant.
"Vhat the hell was that?!" Germany shouted at him.
Gilbert hissed at his younger brother and proceed to struggle some more. When the countries holding him wouldn't let go (thank you, Finland and Australia) he slumped down in their arms, forcing them to hold him up.
The room was completely silent for a moment or two ((which is impressive considering how many people there are)) before Gilbert made another noise. At first it was just a quiet hiss- like a snake warning you not to provoke it- but then it transformed slowly into maniacal laughter ((Look up "Kira's laugh" on youtube))
Suddenly the room was silent again. Many of the countries were more than creeped out by this point. Gilbert grunted before he finally spoke.
"Why did you side with him...?" Gilbert whined, "Why would you side with him over your own BROTHER!" Gilbert suddenly snapped, barking the last word like a dog.
No one offered an answer.
"He attacked me! He's evil! And you're out there treating him like some spoiled kid!"
"Bruder-" Germany started.
"Don't you defend him! You don't understand! You don't understand!" Gilbert whined, "There is evil in Russia's heart..."
Gilbert struggled some more but, once again, had no luck in his escape.
"Take him up to his room. And make sure he doesn't hurt himself," Germnay ordered. The two countries nodded and took him back upstairs. And so the attention was on Russia.
"Dude, why didn't you call for help?" America asked, concerned.
"Huh?"
"Why didn't you call out? We would'a come and helped ya, ya know?"
"I-I'm sorry... I didn't kno-" Russia paused, "You would have?"
"Of course, dude! We wouldn't just leave ya there. That wouldn't be right."
Russia hadn't thought of that. He hadn't completely realized that he wasn't alone anymore, that there were people around him who could- and would- help him out when needed. It wasn't quite the circumstances he had hoped for, but his wish had come true. He had friends.
"Th-thank you..." Russia said, not quite knowing what to do with the sudden wave of sentimentality that had washed over him. 'You have to smile more, da?' he remembered himself saying. And so, Russia smiled.
A little bit later, after everyone calmed down a bit, Finland came back down the stairs.
"How is he?" Germany asked immediately.
"He's asleep. He passed out almost as soon as we got up there. Australia is still watching him just in case, but... he had an injury on the back of his head, it was bleeding pretty badly."
A couple of the countries looks suspiciously at Russia, and other countries' heads soon began to follow until almost the whole room was looking at him for one reason or another.
"What? I didn't hit him. And as far as I could tell, he wasn't bleeding any either. He must have gotten it afterwords."
Finland shook his head, "He didn't get hit with anything since we grabbed him- or at least not anything that would have caused that kind of damage."
"How bad is it?" Germany asked, his concern for his brother was overwhelming.
"Erm... well he probably has a concussion... at the very least..."
The suspicious glances returned to Russia. Half of them were already completely convinced that Russia had provoked Gilbert, and was completely undeserving of their trust, while the other half only pondered the possibility, only a very small number of them believed Russia was innocent.
"Dudes, hang on, you're not really suggesting that Russia attacked Prussia, are you?" America said, defending his new buddy.
"That's what I think," someone said.
"I agree, this whole thing must have been a set-up!" said another.
"He's even got that guilty look in his eye!" someone shouted, pointing at Russia's child-like expression.
"That's a matter of opinion!" America shouted.
"No, it is a matter of reading the mood, America," Japan said, calmly agreeing with the others.
"You 'ave to admit you've never been particularly good at reading faces, America," France said, not sure what he believed, but choosing to take a side anyway.
"And Russia even smiled afterwords! He's been planning this from the beginning!" someone shouted at the opportunity.
"But-a why would Russia suddenly attack Prussia for no reason?" Italy asked, siding with America.
"Vhy Vould Prussia suddenly attack Russia?" Germany offered.
"You've seen how he's been acting! He's still affected by the memory spell! Ian could be controlling him for all we know!"
"Zhat is a good point, zhough," France said, "And none of you can deny that Prussia was most certainly acting unnaturally."
"Then how did he injure himserf?" Japan asked
"If Russia didn't-a do it, then we can find-a whatever it it Prussia-a hurt himself on," Italy suggested,
"Yeah, you said that there was a lot of blood, so everybody calm your tits and look for something with blood on it, kay?"
It didn't take them long to find the area of the counter that had blood on it- less than a minute actually.
"See?" America said, "Now everyone needs to keep their heads, kay? As far as I'm concerned, everyone here is an ally.* And as allies don't band together against other allies!"
America was making an unusual amount of sense- it was quite disturbing actually. America making sense? Gee, the world really is coming to an end...
"Remember, Ian is the enemy. That's 2p!Russia: the creepy-ass commie bastard. Not Ivan: my new poor time-displaced bestie. Got it?"
Seriously, America making sense? The world is coming to an end! AHHHHH. At least he hasn't learned any new words ((Like my new personal favourite: Anachronistic")).
*Lol, Germany, Italy, and Japan are now part of the allies, lol.
((Sorry for the long-ish chapter where nothing much happens and the countries argue over stuff you know isn't true anyway. My inspiration for this chapter faded a bit when I discovered my "iNSaNiTY" music file was corrupted (and the internet right now is down, which is why I posted all these chapters at once). Oops, that's not what I named this chapter anymore, is it? Ah, well I think I'll name the next chapter that... "tHE sPaRK oF iNSaNiTY". Or I might save it for a chapter title in "Lost in My Dreams"... Or both, can I use it for both, is that a valid option?))
((Anyway, thanks for still reading this! I love getting you comments and reviews and unlike other people, I do actually get inspired to write more when I read them, it's just I can't always get around to it. Anyway, thanks again, and ON TO THE NEXT CHAPTER! (not until morning) ))
